nope you're not the only one, I don't count the seconds though I count the amount of wiggles

I count the grunts; it's just over 8 grunts until they wiggle off.

  • Coincidence. I've seen quite a few that literally facecamp while nodding their heads.

  • So basically at first you want to play incredibly safe. Otherwise, there's no real way to hide your blood orbs, in all honesty.

I will say that as he's one of my mains, it's still not the easiest to tell which direction someone went in through the blood orbs alone, so if you have a perk like Dance With Me, scratchmarks being gone can make it incredibly hard to follow you directly despite the orbs.

  • This is the day to day gameplay for EU players right? Either Russians with high ping because there's no server for them, VPNers, or basically no matchmaking majority of the time, so you have to SWF if you want to actually have a chance at a normal game.

It's a shame they couldn't pop up to the attic and bring their hook and generator christmas decorations down from a couple of years ago. And maybe throw in the occasional double blood point offering into the bloodweb.

Or just wrap Demo up in some Christmas lights. He'd like that.

That sounds like a great christmas skin, tbh.

  • Something demonic would be really awesome (look at how amazing they did with Demogorgon and Oni) but outright the devil, I don't see happening as it could rub people the wrong way.

Making hit boxes smaller is not as simple as it sounds, due to the fact that all maps would need to be reworked all over again - it's a massive job, plus it wouldn't solve anything.

Hit Validation is going to be a work in progress I guess, it's currently active and is definitely better than the initial trial version of it and there's probably more updates to be made to it (this is a Live game, so changes to things like this are always to be expected).

And there's more than one server in Europe, there's also one in the UK as well as in Germany. Russia is unlikely to get their own server.

I do feel like one closer to them is necessary, because getting them in my games as killers feels really frustrating with their high pings, and I also know full well what it's like to play as survivor with high ping, having friends in different regions, and play against them a bunch. That said, if hit validation actually improved things (right now, they seem to not really change anything) then it wouldn't be much of an issue at their ~100 ms.

Something that could help is, you know cod pass, they often give 2xp weekend, also their pass isn't THAT grindy, something that I've noticed is that dbd pass is meant for people that don't play other games just dbd, unlike other passes that they make it easier so people don't have to stick that much into it.

I finished it like 2 weeks ago, all 70 tiers but I have a lot of free time thanks to the pandemic, most people have to go to school or work, bhvr doesn't care for them.

See this is the thing: it's for people who exclusively play DBD, however they stated it should be for anyone who only plays on average an hour a day, amounting to about 70 hours per pass, and that's clearly not what's happening. Tome III was the least grindy one and the only one I felt reasonable, as I finished that while barely playing, but I play an average of about 45 hours a week and I'm only just on tier 69.

  • I don't get your point, tbh. I haven't seen anyone claim it's not its intended purpose?

It's a dumb perk that needs completely changing, though.

Honestly i want legions frenzy speed to be buffed. Most of the time you cant catch a survivor who just holds w

I think they could do with their detection add-ons being changed to speed add-ons, tbh.

Base FF is so bad, though. As someone who has mained legion and likes to horde add-ons, I've put myself through that pain.

Damn didn’t realise how fast Victor was when pouncing no wonder it’s hard to dodge a good one

  • WDYM? Gas Heaven still is majority deadzones, including generators and spawnpoints.

Azarov's Resting Place is still mostly deadzones and somehow was made smaller while already being killer sided before.

    Wretched Shop: deadzones.

The rest? Fair play, there are definitely some issues for killers that aren't mirrored by the existence of gigantic deadzones.

Also unsure what you're referring to by 'this'?

Ah yes he's one of the "best nurses around" that got that huge streak of 4ks with undying/ruin/corrupt/bbq and cd addons. Such a god nurse, imagine not 4king with that build :^^^)

I mean he is a strong killer player, for definite. Played against a few times, and he doesn't need to be playing OP stuff on Nurse to win, nor does he need to run Stridor on his Spirit. (albeit these two killers are grossly strong)

The stretched res so he doesn't need shadowborn is annoying too, but it's whatever, The devs need to make it so a change in resolution doesn't affect FOV.

  • Spine Chill + Resilience, that became incredibly popular because of how common it was to get dedicated when the servers came out, for like 6 months. It increases vault speeds in chases while injured by 15%.

  • @ChiTenshi said:

If Nurse could cancel blinks, they’d have to nerf her again. The inability to cancel blinks is an intentional downside so Survivors have something to work around.

If you’re a skilled Nurse though, you can aim at the ground to shorten the blink then use your second blink to hit the Survivor.

She actually can. SupaAlf abuses this bug a ton, and it makes playing vs her unplayable.

  • Spine Chill is average, at best, outside of vault build.

If that survivor was working on a generator, it's impossible they were being tunneled. As a killer, it is ALWAYS paramount to get people off gens. Even if it means dropping a chase to do it. No matter who is on them. That is the efficient and optimal play, literally always.

This isn't true, tbh. you can think the killer is on someone else and they just faked it so you'd be an easier target to tunnel.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1838196#Comment_1838196

Eh, I'd just make it disappear completely when they touch a generator/hex totem. You can't be tunneled while doing a generator, nor should you be invincible and able to do your objective.

Disappearing completely could negate its purpose in a bunch of cases, tbh. make it regress at double the rate, but half if they're in chase. And pause is slugged.

  • It's pretty unfair to get hooked for the first time after 5 gens and then get tunneled off the hook because there's no anti-tunnel mechanic in place as a result of all gens being done. 100% confirmed kill for every game with no effort needed.

Plus, this would just further encourage aggressive DS and BT use, rather than use to actually counter tunneling.

I love Otz, but this idea is bad.

  • In certain cases, yes. Some maps are still a bit BS for killer, like Disturbed Ward (although that map has the RNG issue with deadzones too, so it's kind of even? but the main building is broken af)

In other cases, I feel like it can be really killer sided. Especially if there's no obsession. It's so easy to tunnel someone out of the game in the first 2 minutes.

I disagree. I don't feel like I should have to constantly monitor their social media or news updates or miss out on stuff. It wouldn't even bother me as much if the windows of time were larger. Would the Christmas stuff be any less special if there was a six week window instead of one or two weeks per promotion?

In general, I agree. But for cosmetics that will be going into the store at a later date, it's fair game, imo. Plus they told us the layout before the month began so that we could tell which days to look.

Scott isn't even a killer main lmao, he plays both sides. He just recognizes the combo can be used offensively for 1 minute of invulnerability and that it has no counter when doing so.

Yes, he is a killer main lol.

But his reference to small PP build is pretty fair. Killers have a couple of them, too.

So when a entire teams slugged because they don’t kick victor and I’m able to hook them and track is me playing well and not like trash thanks some jerk was saying I’m bad at the game when all I’ve done is use them against each other and even after one game as the twins I’ve leans treat hooks as a hag and bubba mix

It's pretty hard to get a chance to kick him, tbh.

  • He's beein conssitent and talking about DBD, sure, but it seemed to be more about how he struggles to enjoy it. I just hope whenever he comes back, he does it because he's ready and not because he feels pressured to do it.

    Hex Undying

It's kinda strange though.Didn't BHVR disable Badham in the past because of an uncleanseable totem spot?

Why wouldn't they do it with that map?

I think it was a case of you cleanse it and get stuck, and that it could also be used if you're downed to avoid being picked up iirc?

Also, what's interesting is, that this harvester had the exact same issue in the patch that Blight came out with...but that got fixed, and was in a different spot.

Honestly, though, game rules are dodgy as hell. You can do all manner of awful things to make it unfun for everyone, which is horrific for game health, but god forbid someone DC's.

Yes. There are a lot of dumb things that you are allowed to do that only make the game unfun for other players and that serve no practical purpose other than that.

I think the primary reason this isn't included in the rules is because it would create even more support tickets, and there's already too many for them to be handled quickly enough.

One of the reasons there are so many tickets is that the in-game report menu is bad, see also : https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196283/the-in-game-report-menu-should-say-when-you-need-to-create-a-support-ticket#latest

Since it was created it has been unchanged (as far as I recall), from a player perspective. Most likely some processes in the backend side of things have been streamlined to make it more efficient, but the process of creating a report / ticket is slow and feels bad.

Another example of where the game rules don't make sense is targeting specific players to ruin their experience - so technically doing certain things is not allowed, but only if you do it often and to a specific player multiple times, but then again streamsniping which I think would also fall under that is not covered by this and is actually allowed.

An interesting case would be someone who fakes unhooks always. If you have this person often enough on your team and they do it to you it would seem like they violate the "targeting specific players" rule, but then they actually have the defense where that player can say that they do this to every survivor player, and not just to a specific player, and then it would be allowed by the rules. This would probably still lead to a ban if someone makes a support ticket though - if the rules are read literally however then it is allowed.

The rules are weird and inconsistent and both the rules and the report process (report menu and ticket creation) need to be streamlined.

I agree, the reporting process is archaic right now. It takes so long to being a support ticket, and the worst part is, the last time I made a ticket of someone cheating, stating I had evidence I could provide as my friend recorded the game? 3 months before they responded asking for it, by which time, my friend had deleted the footage to free up space.

I wouldn't mind, but they don't even feel like they respond to people who cheat anyway, so I've just taken to...not bothering adding extra information now, because it feels like there's no point.

If the system was improved and they made the rules more consistent, this game could be great. It's already one of my top games, but I have so many reasons to loathe it.

  • @SunderMun said:

My personal feedback as survivor is that it's more or less the same. Console killers tend to get hits they really shouldn't and killers from other regions are very heavily favoured, although there do seem to be less of them.

As killer, I haven't felt like I've been cheated out of many hits, except in edge cases where I play a killer like billy and the camera decided to rotate 180 degrees into a wall when my mouse didn't move and a survivor was directly in front of my saw, and grabs even seem ever so slightly better, which is nice.

Since I gave this feedback, I've had a string of dodgy hits through pallets (pallet down, killer gets stunned, they then swing, appear on my side of the pallet, hit me, and back on the other side, in the middle of the stun animation) and I don't know if this is because something changed yesterday or if it was just really unlucky.

I also forgot that in the last week, I have had a couple of grabs on me where I'd vaulted a window (that should have been a fast vault but somehow wasn't after running in a straight line) and while running, I was pulled back into a grab.

Edit: I also forgot to add, my ping is consistently 30-40.

  • @Mandy said:

@SunderMun repeatedly forcing the hook animation is a different thing than what is shown in the video in the OP's post. Because the stop/start action prevents anyone else from making a save, that's when it becomes reportable for griefing.

Fair enough, then. This OP seemed like this was just the start of them intentionally not unhooking and griefing the person, going by the way they reacted.

Honestly, though, game rules are dodgy as hell. You can do all manner of awful things to make it unfun for everyone, which is horrific for game health, but god forbid someone DC's.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1833545#Comment_1833545

See what Mandy stated above. Its not reportable as its a choice not a rule.

Meanwhile in the past, they've state on the forums it is.

They chop and change as they want with what they state is reportable lmao

Uh, you know that trolling/bad sportsmanship/throwing is literally one of the bannable offenses, right? If someone is teabagging you on the hook or repeatedly forcing unhook animation so nobody else can get you, that is all of the above @Madjura

  • @twistedmonkey said:

This isn't reportable, it is messed up like the poster above said but there is no rule that says someone has to save you from a hook.

This actually is reportable. Intentionally leaving you on the hook and teabagging is.

Also, OP, I had this yesterday. This Nea duo repeatedly sandbagged me from the start of the game, and then when I was finally on the hook, they were crouching in the corner of the map and one came to me and teabagged while also starting and stopping the unhook animation until I died. Pieces of ######### got reported, but nothing will happen, even with evidence, despite it being something the devs themselves say is reportable.

  • My personal feedback as survivor is that it's more or less the same.

  • Self-care is a self-hinderance perk, although I suppose it meant they got more use out of their medkit; Adrenaline isn't really a second chance perk. Fair enough the other two; being toxic isn't fun though. I actually basement facecamped the last person who was being toxic because I was having a bad game while doing an adept achievement with 2 perks, on no sleep in over a day and I got called midgame so was basically playing one handed with no sound lmao. Their teammates were like fair enough when I stated that was my reason. :)

Also running self-care alongside adrenaline is odd...

  • It's been enabled for I think 2 weeks now? Only killer I see as consistently being off with their hitbox, compared to normal, is Blight. Since I already know what his hitboxes are like (they seem dumb to people who are unaware as it is) as a Blight main, it's...something else, lol.

  • Such is the way of the game. Killers can never be at fault, only survivors.

  • I'd be fine with them removing the Overheat mechanic from Billy; he didn't need it. But it doesn't break him. I've not once overheated when playing him, and don't think I've ever seen it happen, especially against good Billy players.

Nurse, however, needed a bit more of a cooldown on top of what she got, imo. Go against a 5k hour Nurse main and you see just how bleak it is. The survivors may as well be replaced with AI and it would be the same outcome.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Ignoring ones in plain sight though is simply idiotic. Or any of the ones a player comes across while deliberately searching for a hex.

That it is, but that is not what is being suggested by many who just say 'just do bonez 4head' and certainly not the one I was replying to there. I'm almost certain is because they want survivors to throw games looking for them.

  • @Chaotyx said:

Ya you can blind from the side now apparently, found that out the hard way when 4 swf's swarmed me with flashlights and unbreakable. Super fun.

You can't unless the killer has Shadowborn or M&A since they increase the FOV of the killer.

  • @chieften333 said:

They don't want to detach themselves from their precious gens. Because doing bones is a waste of time to them.

Honestly these people are going to get undying nerfed for nothing.

Going around and doing totems isn't a viable strat against Undying/Ruin unless it's an organised SWF making sure it's just one person doing it while another gets chased and the other two are on gens. Doing this in solo queue is giving the win to the killer because you're not really doing anything productive.

And I'm someone who has no issue with this combo; we just need to see it as it is - punishing to solos, and pointless against well organised teams.

  • I actually do this; I look around on my way to gens and from gens, but lately, especially on the graphically updated maps, I can honestly not see a single totem all game despite checking all the spots on my way to find generators.

  • @grim1 said:

So i need help/ a ruling on the perk :power struggle.

So here is the example i just faced. two survivors left, with both of them down and near by exit gate at 99%. I hooked and killed one. I came back to the second one to see they crawled to a near by pallet and are waiting there. I assume that the reason they would do this was because the have power struggle ready. So I have the choice of waiting for 3 mins for them to bleed out, or eat the pallet stun and let them escape. Now that power struggle is a thing, i know its toxic to make them bleed out, but is it bannable, when now its part of the game?

BTW I did end up picking the player up, and yes she did have it, and yes she did escaped...

If you suspect it, it's fair game. If they move from under the pallet, pick them up. If not, there's no harm in leaving them there, imo.

You did nothing wrong, and they wasted their perk slots on a one-off chance for that perk to work.

It's not bannable to let someone bleed out, but it is BM, but again, if you suspect something like this, it's not really.

  • Aimlock, aura hack, limitless hatchets, flying, speedhack...and an ebony mori before they were made ever so slightly weaker...k...this is a bit over the top.

  • For that one, I just ran a DS/Head-on build. Felt awful for running it, because I don't like to use DS unless every game in a session has been hard tunneling so far, and even then I avoid it, but it was pretty easy using head-on.

  • I'd argue for me Nurse is more common. It makes me sad to say, but it's true that Oni is rare. :(

Hag I see maybe once a month, and I'm glad it's like that lol.

Deathslinger, Nurse, Executioner, Freddy, Bubba are the killers I most commonly see.

How difficult are they to play as? I didn't want to buy them because of how broken they were at first, but now that they've implemented the bug fixes, I'm in the market for a new killer. Would you recommend them?

It's incredibly easy. You'll likely miss the first couple of Lunges, but after a few, you'll recognise how easy it is to hit people, since you can take into account that Victor's hitbox is also the size of the funbus.

I'd definitely recommend, personally, since they allow you to split pressure amazingly well, but just beware a lot of survivors will likely just kill themselves off hook because it's not a fun experience to go against Victor and get no points for wasting his time and still going down in a short amount of time anyway.

But I'm also the type of player that enjoys speedy bois, and that's definitely what I'd class Victor as.

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 45
