This is impossible unless the killer is incredibly bad at her...

If I perceive them as doing well or as having been a bit bullied or sandbagged, I might. If they were part of a SWF trying to bully me? Hell no.
-
Nope. Went from ~20-30 hours a week to none for about a month, came back and I play max 3 games a week. It's just...not fun. It's frustrating. You get punished for playing well and the other side has ways of stopping you from playing the game at all or simply sucking any fun out of it that was possible in the first place.

Playing killer sucks.
If you cant beat em join em tho
Try playing more survivor. Its more fun.
It's really, really not.

NOTE: I am in no way homophobic, transphobic, etc. I am simply being vocal concerning Behaviour and being inclusive.
Although I think its great that the devs are incorporating a chapter with some LGBTQIA+ lore, I can't help but think that they were pressured by some of the community, and I feel like this should be said: It is not their job to be diverse in a survival horror game. The game is about killing and surviving, not about social inclusiveness. I find it so hard to believe that people in this community really think that its the devs job to be inclusive, when it really isn't. Again, I am not trying to come off as non-progressive, I just want people to understand that its not cool to pressure the team to do something that you want, especially when its not in any way shape or form related to the gameplay and health of the game.
'I'm not homophobic but...' is NOT going to convince us of anything other than the fact that you're homophobic
We also always knew they intended to bring in/reveal LGBTQ characters...in fact, as has been posted previously, they've very publicly had conversations about this and visibly not been harrassed.
Also while it looks as if it's likely with this chapter, we simply don't know yet.

is BHVR going to pull a Blizzard ? You can see how well that went. Just let the fans think whatever of the characters, a fandom exists for a reason.
The posts in themselves don't; only homophobic people who respond like this.

While there is a point to be had, camping is something in this game that needs to be dealt with; it completely sucks the interactivity out of it, which is the entire ######### point of playing any videogame.

Sure, bud. Sure.

Oni-chan.

Nope, noone said Ruin by itself was OP. It is OP in settings where the survivors aren't in comms and it's paired with pre-nerf Undying. Noone has ever said that Ruin itself was OP.
Also in this video, for 50 seconds, you pressured one person. Do you expect survivors to sit in the corner twiddling their thumbs until you get both your killer power spike (since you were Oni) and your pressure spike? Be realistic.
-
It's usually anywhere from 2-4 weeks after the mid-chapter so next week is likely.
More interested in the fixes coming to the game so that I might be willing to actually play, tbh.
-
On PC for me, it's much worse than before.
@OniWantsYourMacaroni Yep, it's basically the latest and greatest atm.

If they did a patch like, tomorrow, and then another patch like a week later it would be fine.
Everyone talking about how ridiculous it is, how they will totally quit or whatever else but the player count still doesn't reflect what people are saying:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IG58OYXNVIE2/image.png
Sure there are more killers and less survivors; but honestly that's been making queue times shorter for survivor and only a bit longer for killer, queue times have never been better haha.
I mean it's awful and it needs to be fixed ASAP of course; but I find it funny how folks want to say how it's going to kill the game and the playerbase has gone up lol. Sure there is the event but I mean, it only went up by about the same as usual which means the player base would be the same as usual without an event.
I haven't seen anyone claim it's going to kill the game; just how they're not going to play. I didn't play for a month before this patch, played about 5 games with friends and got sick of it after getting 3 killers that were using a VPN and the other 2 still got all hits that weren't in the realm of possibility for connecting.

I've had enough of them releasing broken stuff and I will certainly think twice before giving them any more of my money in the future. Get your act together BHVR, this should have been detected before the patch and if not, it should have been fixed immediately, not in several weeks. I'm convinced you don't even have a QA team at this point.
I've been saying this for nearly 2 years, lol. There is no evidence of them having even a semi-competent QA team.

I'll be doingt hat every time I see deathslinger or huntress at least now. funny thing about ghostface though is that his hitboxes do not seem broken, but, I only had one match against him so far and come tot hink he might not even have hit me in it so I would need a match against another one to get a feel.
Edit: I remember one ghostface before that one now, and actually, his hits didn't feel as bs as other kilelrs for some reason. The first ghostface tonight did kill me though he was a lot betetr at finding me and since I'd been gone a while I kept accidentally exposing him I thinkt hey may have changed the radius on his exposure intentionally or unintentionally since even briefly on part of the screen it was happening in split seconds witht he exposed sound and shimmer.
My first game of the new patch (a month after I'd last played, actually) was vs a ghostface, and it was broken. That said, they were VPNing from Japan to the UK, too, so hard to tell.

No of course not. And the unbroken emblem is broken too. #########'s getting ridiculous. I remember when BHVR released playable chapters and mid-chapters without having to delay by weeks and still have to release 2 hotfixes afterwards. Wonder why they stopped.
Tbf, the Unbroken emblem has literally never functioned as the emblem claims it's intended to.

Just another rift and such. It’s my first rift event so I want to beat it.
Ah, I see. You'll have to play non-stop unless you want to spend money skipping levels, as that's the standard scummy tactic Bhvr have been taking with the rifts ever since Tome III ended. The grind gets more and more ridiculous, and I only ended up completing the last one after no-lifing the game because they extended it by a week in December and gave everyone a free level with a promo code.
-
Yes, in short. I rarely play these days. When I do, 2 thirds of the killers I encounter if I'm survivor are usually running a VPN and NOED and ensure that even if no gens have been completed they stay within a tile's distance of the hook, or in many cases, stare directly into the face of the hooked survivor.
A month ago when I had over 40 hours a week on this game, it was the same story.
-
There's a very, very large and noticeable desynchronisation with the servers, which affects survivor much more than killer, however a killer like Huntress will definitely get messed up by it from time to time.
If you look at their tweets, Bhvr have addressed that they're looking into it, and given just how many people they're losing right now for this patch alone, it shouldn't take too long, for once. As opposed to years to fix one ridiculous game breaking issue that we normally get.
-
@Dragonshensi said:
Honestly I would be right there with you if it wasn’t for the limited event. I really want the rewards so I’m having to hate play the game to get them. Hopefully after that and if the stuff still isn’t fixed then I’m taking a break.
Might I ask, what exactly is happening for the event? I didn't play for a month until the update, and the update made it somehow even more worse than the game already felt, so I haven't logged in to see.
-
Yeah, this is one of the reasons I barely play anymore.
-
Same a show Dwightcrow is killer only. Makes no sense.

@luzibrat said:
does anyone else feel like survivor is unplayable rn? idk with the new movement, hud and hitboxes being off it just seems hard and unenjoyable to play.
plus the unbroken emblem is broken for console (not sure if it's the same for pc), making it impossible to get pips anymore, regardless of points / how long you're alive in the match.
i've gone from keeping at a steady rank 4 for at least a month, occasionally dropping back to 5, to rank 9 in the space of three days since the new update came out.
does anyone else feel the same?
It is. Servers being completely botched/desynced means survivors simply get the short end of the stick. May as well have every killer we face be a VPNer.
Also the camera change on being downed makes me genuinely feel ill, and I don't even get motion sickness normally, so that puts me off, too.
-
Its definitely better, but still looks overbearing as it takes up so much more space overall.
As well as this, the portraits and new symbol for being injured simply don't fit; it's hard to read as injured (feels more like it means they're an obsession and confuses more than helps, tbh) and there's too much distracting detail to follow who is who from the portraits.
Another issue is that the perks and the power/item part of the UI simply isn't lined up and it looks off as a result.
Oh, and as mentioned before, the hook timer is impossible to follow as it's so hard to read; it blends in and is too small. If we scaled the UI, the UI would be too big and it would still be hard to read due to it blending in.
-
@ClownIsUnderrated Yeah I never bought the idea that the Clown was the worst killer in the game when Wraith and Legion exist, tbh.

This rework is perfect bar two things

Yes, I don't understand how they thought it was appropriate to keep that add-on without at all removing some power such as by lowering the number of bottles he has. It's been considered a problem add-on for a very long time, albeit not that prevalent (unlike Iri head) so it was naturally expected that his add-on pass would deal with it.

I'm pretty sure they would listen to her voice over anyone else's since she is the community manager. My guess is she didn't say a damn thing AND SHE ADMITTED IT. Communication could've been better? Maybe it you constantly told them 'hey we're not getting a lot of good feedback maybe we should put this on hold'
Agreed.

Shes part of the Dev team. Don't have to be a Dev to be part of a team. Plus she could have let them know about our disapproval
And she probably did, but that didn't change anything. Did it? Or else we wouldn't have gotten this patch in this state.

Do we count community manager as dev? I don't think she has the ability to affect the changes all that much.

ahh, thank you. Why would someone want to do that? I mean, what's the benefit? Is it just to show that you can?
I have no idea, tbh. I've never come across people doing it, but streamers get it aplenty. Perhaps they enjoy ruining the games of others, but honestly that could be done by simply running object with a key or running an anti-looping killer and facecamping, which for whatever reason isn't disincentivised.

probably not actually since a lot of people dislike it but i hope the animations stay
Yeah, I don't really mind the animations overall. Just the neutral stance for a healthy survivor feels off/awkward in the context of the trial. That and the camera change on being downed as survivor being jarring/causing motion sickness pretty easily.
Only the HUD am I truly opposed to.

again it’s adjustable you can also make it smaller and i never said i liked the new hud i was just suggesting a way to fix it while the devs are collecting feedback
Make it smaller, and it's harder to see while still relatively imposing unless you go for the smallest option.
Make it bigger and it takes up a ridiculous amount of the screen and because it's dotted around the screen, it makes it hard to see.
The new HUD can't be fixed if they're going to be their usual stubborn selves and keep the same overall design style; it needs a total redesign. It doesn't have to be the old one, but it needs to be less all over the place (like a damn cheap mobile game) in a fast paced game like DBD.

Yes, make the already imposing UI larger so that it's even more imposing and hard to see the actual game. Amazing idea.

Like a billion topics that have been opened on this theme, I am going to open one for myself as well.
The new HUD is GARBAGE! I've played one match as a killer and almost lost because of it(from the very first match). Twice in the game I simply didn't realise a survivor was unhooked because the HUD is so SMALL and the writing is like it's in a thick fog that you barely see(idk what synonim is for that) that I didn't figure out he got unhooked and I didn't hear(or maybe I was too focused) the sound of the survivor being unhooked.
As a Survivor last night in 2 out of 6 matches I've had to literally search and check how many gens were remaining because the Gen HUD is so small and, like the survivors HUD, the writing is like it's in a thick fog that you barely see, you have to like focus on it on top of the screen to see how many gens are left in the game in case you're too focused on tasks and did not remember how many gens were completed.
A big dissapointment! For what you implement the stuff on PTB I have NO IDEA, because you release them in the same state and don't give a damn about player's opinions! Not a CENT!
Very dissapointed! 1377 hours in the game but it's starting to exhaust me as new updates come by...Unacceptable behaviour by the Devs!
The gen remaining part actually blends in with the game so it's hard to see even when you're actively looking at it.
Honestly, idc about the new survivor animations. They're cursed and the stiff, upright stance doesn't make much sense, but whatever. The UI simply breaks the game along with the fact they broke the servers in this update, somehow. Also that camera change on being downed is nauseating.
-
The update literally broke the game; information that is supposed to be easy to discern takes a long time to pull together in a game where you need to think fast or lose the gens/die.
AND they messed up the hitboxes even more than the start of dedicated servers did, somehow.
Wouldn't be so bad if they actually listened to majority community feedback, but they don't give a damn.

- The bloodpoints you get on rank reset are nothing. Let's say you lose out on like 10 pips because of this emblem change and never hit rank 1. You probably lost out on like 15 minutes worth of free BPs (that we weren't getting before, btw) over the course of an entire month. This is pretty much a non-issue lol.
- Speak for yourself on this one :)
Lmao these hoops are insane.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
- Pipping is set to matter even less than it already does once MMR goes live, so I'm not really worried about the emblem system tbh.
- Nothing changed with regards to hit detection in this update.
- I think the animations look really good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- There are dozens of other good fixes and changes in this update
- Except for the bloodpoints you get on rank reset...
- Nothing officially changed, but in reality we all see it.

Yea, everyone is talking about it.
I just find myself shaking my head as I can't fathom what exactly they were thinking with this update.
This is the first time I've seen the devs managing to unify survivors and killers over what is collectively a mess on both sides.
From an outside perspective its actually kind of impressive. Unifying the player base over a catastrophic update.
Tinfoil hat time? Was this the plan all along?

So anybody that experiences eye strain from a UI all the way around the screen can't play

League of Legends:

Civ 5:

I'm sorry for making such a long post with pictures but those are just examples from the many genres that use UIs like this. I would be hard pressed to find any modern game that doesn't have stuff in 2 different corners at least.
It sucks that people that experience eye strain can't play these games but at that point they literally can't play 95% of all video games because dbd is one of the only games that had everything in one spot. No games do this anymore and the reason why is because it's useful. It was popular at one point in like 1996 with the original DOOM games but not in 2021. If a game wants to be even somewhat competitive they need a UI like this. Nobody plays Call of Duty or any other shooter you can name and goes: "WAIT.. I have to look in the bottom right in my screen to see my ammo count and then look in the top left to see my mini map?? NOOOO". That just doesn't happen. This was a good change and i'm just waiting for people to calm down about it and get used to it. it's modern game design.
Notice how you perceive those specific cases as being the same, but they're very different, except in the case of Civ, which can afford to have everything all around and has a lot more information to give, because while it can be PVP, it isn't fast-paced; its a 4X game that you can take your time playing.
In others, the important information is all in one general area, and notice how it's always in the bottom, with the exception of minimaps (except for a few outliers) because it's easier to gather from there and you usually don't need all of this information at once. Of course, it's not in one tiny, condensed spot, but it also isn't spread out while still managing to avoid the clutter. Meanwhile, we have a cluttered UI that confuses and makes it hard to follow what's going on despite being spread out. And let's not forget that some of the new symbols make absolutely no sense. (The injured symbol looks more like they're an obsession in that it reminds me of when people get obsessive and slash out the face of a person in all their pictures, etc)
-
@gendoss said:
lmao nobody is getting eye strain from the new UI. Every modern game out there has a UI like this. People don't play Call of Duty or League of Legends darting their eyes around the screen and get eye strain. I don't understand why people hate the UI so much and at this point people are just making stuff up. Either the community just doesn't play any other modern video game or they're just trying to find things to get mad at.
Well, you're completely incorrect here. Every mobile game has a UI like this, but not normal videogames that are PVP and require you to pick up information all the time.
