Bloodlust shouldn't exist so you can go infinite loop? Killer mains crying? So if someone complains about the thing that you think is right it's crying?
Infinites don't exist. For 4 years now. If your only means of catching a survivor is through Bloodlust you're just bad and you're doing something wrong. You even have 2 whole perks dedicated to either blocking a window or vaulting faster.
Most higher tier killers don't even need perks. Their base power is so strong it has inbuilt perks in them. Blight, Nurse, Spirit, can have addons and go perkless, without any bloodlust will down 90% of randoms anywhere anytime.
Lower tier killers can struggle more in very specific loops, but nothing that a full gen regression/map control build can't deal with.
You also, at some point, will have to put some skill and effort in.
-
Bloodlust should have never been a thing to begin with. It exclusively rewards the potatoes. Full stop.
It's as if we gave potato survivors permanent Hope. These forums would explode with killer mains crying.
-
Usually, yes. Except people who insist on breaking totems they shouldn't break.
"bUt i HaVe iNNeR heALinG"
Yes, break this middle of the map totem in an indoor map, so you can heal yourself once. Let's ignore the fact I'm telling you to let go so I can place my 4 totems combination in the middle of the map for everyone so our chances of surviving collectively go up automatically.
-
Looks wise I'd say Wesker I guess. And Wraith. But Wesker gives me the impression of being one of those people who stare at themselves in the mirror, and yawn when you talk about your stuff. Wraith simply... doesn't seem to talk much.
-
I can just describe you a lot of the average solo Q matches I have:
Trial starts, it's a Ghost face in this particular example, but introduce any other killer. I bless a totem next to a centric generator (people don't understand the importance of getting generators in the middle out of the way ASAP) and start repairing. About 10% in and since the match started, there is a Nea that has been crouching inside the gas station on Autohaven, while this other Kate was chased for the incredible amount of 20 seconds, and another Dwight repairs one of the corners of the map. As per usual.
Kate goes down, she gets hooked, I'm about 30% on the generator now, Dwight goes to farm Kate, he goes down in front of the hook. I'm expecting Dwight to at least crawl away so I can either get him up or attempt a hook save. He just stays there. Nea goes from crouching inside the gas station to going into a locker (I have bond). I manage to bait the GF to hit Kate before she dies, I unhook her, take the hit, and sprint to Dwight's body and get him up. Kate gets downed again instantly, and Dwight follows 5 seconds later.
Now the Ghost Face is on me, I'm injured, and in the 20 seconds Kate took to go down, she managed to use 3 strong pallets, including shack pallet. I keep seeing Nea now crouching around the edges of the map. Two survivors are still bleeding out on the ground. At that point, I just bait Nea. I make sure the GF finds her, he downs me, and then chases her. The chase lasts about 10 seconds.
Everyone dies. with 5 generators left.
"ThIs iS LoW MmR"
Except that it isn't. Because next match it'll be a tournament Blight player with 6k hours, and 3-4k hours survivors. And two matches from that it'll be a 800 hours Nurse with 1-2k hours survivor. It's all over the ######### place.
The state of solo Q is so unbelievably bad, a lot of the survivors (even the ones with thousands of hours) are so unaccountably incompetent, and there's so much tunnel and camp that the survivors don't know how to play around, that you will have to play 20 matches to get 1 decent game.
To this day, I still think that Nea is in a locker somewhere.
-
I've faced nothing but Blights/Nurses/Spirits and very rarely other killers for years. I don't know how/when any if you are getting those fun varied matches. So for me nothing changes. It's still permanent spam of Nurses and Blights. At least if there are tools to counter tunnelling and camping I'll have more than I did before.
EDIT: Well now it's been mostly Weskers. I'm hoping this changes soon though because it's getting so boring. Though it'll go back to Nurses and Blights which is not that much better.
I just think I need to stop playing solo Q.
-
You only have 2 options: You either nerf the infection progression and reset it completely when you're hooked and also reduce sprays, or you buff the infection and increase sprays.
We can't just have everyone easily fully hindered because that would just be broken.
-
Because that's not their priority. Their priority is releasing new DLCS and skins as fast as possible, not fixing their game.
-
As it is, Hyperfocus is potentially strong but nothing I would consider problematic. How many people actually consistently bring this build? Because I haven't seen any. I tried this build for a few matches, and while gens do go faster, they ended up the same way as always, 4k. lol
Sure, let's nerf Hyperfocus, so we can have yet another survivor perk added to the pile of dumpster. 95% of survivor perks are useless, and adding more to that category. And counting.
Then people act surprised when nobody wants to play solo Q

I feel like i run around the whole map trying to get that trap off unsuccessfully, does it always take 3 or 4 attempts, or am i just unlucky? one match I felt like i couldn't get the damn thing off at all; in the end i ran in for a unhook as no one else seemed to be close, and i died literally as i was about to finish the unhook action. Pig arrived with perfect timing 😀
HAHAHAHA.
You see, always beautiful moments with a Pig.
Also notice how she wasn't too far from the hook either. Because the person hooked also had a trap on.
Oddly enough I do get extremely lucky with Pig traps. I usually take them off first or second try lol

@pizzaduffyhp90 said:
I enjoy playing Amanda. She's a pretty unique killer being able to put traps on survivors head and give them the choice to try and take it or do a gen when it's not active and when it is active they're not on any gens so you have a built in gen defense kinda. Her stealth is not the greatest but, it can still be pretty effective at points. Just make sure you don't try and boop me I won't except it you've "made your choice" at that point.
But you see, Pig players usually have a sense of humor, something you rarely find on Nurses, Blights and Spirits. They're sweaty tryhard on their way to remove you from the game ASAP. And they can easily do so. Bad combo

Plague is meh. But I tolerate more killers, not only Pig. For example I also like playing versus Huntresses.

@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/344509/why-cant-everyone-play-pig
Because, for some reason, people DC against my Pig as often as against my Trickster, and more than my Hag.
I also get cussed out frequently for playing 'that irritating killer'.
They're ignorant. They can't appreciate the finesse and joy a Pig can bring to a match. When she manages to put a trap on your head and the timer is past half the limit she's usually gonna go out of her way to find you and tunnel you, ignoring everything and everyone else, even if that means she "lost". The Pig doesn't care about conventionally winning like the rest of the killers, she plays the game against individual survivors at a time.
I hate Trickster, and I do actually like Hags but all they do is hook someone and just camp the hell out of them until they die, and repeat, so that's really boring. A Pig chases you all over the map.
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
Haven’t seen a Pig in weeks. A month, even.
Me neither. It' truly is heartbreaking. Everyone is sweating with Nurse, Spirit and the likes.
-
@Neprašheart said:
Most of the pigs I have faced were hardcore tunneling me, because they haven't been able to finish up a chase with me even though I have made a plenty of mistakes along the way.
They're usually inexperienced fans of SAW, who then proceed to make the match unfun for one random player whom they decide to choose by tunneling them, even if it costs them the entire match. Body blocking and taking hits doesn't work aswell; They just run from side to side and eventually outrun those, who're attempting to body block and save the tunneled survivor. If the body blocking gets to be successful and ends up in a down, they're not gonna pick up the downed survivor; They just want that one specific player, no matter what.
So, I'd say that I'm kinda grateful for Amanda's absence.. Those matches weren't fun at all, but boring and too one-sided ever since the beginning of the match.
This all sounds hilarious to me. I get it's not for others. But even when I'm the one tunnelled by a Pig it's always funny
-
You need to play 20 games to get 1 good match. People die at 4 gens left. Sometimes with 3 gens left if you get lucky. This is about the vast majority of matches. You might have 3.000 hours and get matched with people with 300. Randoms don't know what to do and they can't deal with tunnelling and camping.
People who are winning are usually SWF.
-
Wesker is A tier. And no killer is D tier EXCEPT trapper. Most killers are A-B.
-
I am very glad.

Uh...20 seconds of haste with an unhook with BT ring a bell? If you can't make that work, you deserve to be camped and tunneled
Depending on the killer that's nothing. The strongest killers (Nurse, Blight, Spirit) can easily bypass the haste and the BT. So that "You deserve to be camped and tunnelled" is relative. I would like to see you play solo Q consistently and easily avoid a tunnelling S-A tier so you "don't deserve to be camped and tunnelled".

hes near useless at 90% of filler pallets, and his power isnt worth using at the ones where it does work, since his collisions are so scuffed that hell just fly to the moon
at generic tiles, he can sometimes use it, but at the moment what it mostly does is allow catchup to w gamers and catch survivors who arent paying attention off guard
he cant really use it like a demo shred bc his charge time is close to triple what demos is, luckily his cooldown is much much shorter, and theres an inbuilt time waste since survivors dont like moving slow
he can vault pallets and windows and catchup to M1 very quickly though. What I don't get is why people expect that Wesker is good at everything all the time and never has any drawbacks. It's as if they want another Nurse. But no, this can't be, right?

I disagree with that, it depends on player.
I have hard tunneller Blights and Nurses and then i have fair playing Trappers and Sadakos. It seriously depends on players, not characters.
Partly true, but there are tendences. For example, if it's a Spirit or a Nurse and you wildly guess "they're sweaty tryhard tunnellers with 0 chill", you are more likely to be correct than not.

Thanks for confirming that. You realize that they could make the most broken perks in the world(see old DS and DH) PEOPLE ARE INCOMPETENT. There's no fixing that. You can't balance a game around incompetence.
I mean, trust me, I have a degree in the study of incompetence. I've been a solo Q player since 2016. This game has guaranteed I'm going to get some sort of tumor or cancer in the future, because I like playing efficiently (for the most part), and my blood boils like it's lava.
Sure, I know incompetence. And I know nothing will fix incompetence. 99% of survivors are incompetent. But yes you can balance the game around incompetence. Not completely, but you can try to mitigate it in part, so people like me can at least strive to live past 40.
-
Reading some of these comments makes me realise how a lot of people in this forum just don't play solo Q. Yes, sometimes people will go into struggle even using Reassurance, because it's only 30 seconds, randoms are extremely incompetent, and most of the time selfish. It should definitely be usable once per hook stage at least. Regardless of being rehooked or not

Any competent swf can beat most killers in the game if they are playing to win. And they are not some obscure percentage, as solo q gets more and more miserable the number of swfs is only rising.
It's a lot less than it seems. I don't have any sources to support this because this is very specific info that I don't think they'll provide us with, but it can't be that high. So out of all the players of DBD, you will have to discard all the randoms, also 2 man SWF, and even 3 man SWF. So it has to come down to 4 man SWF. And out of all those, you will have to focus on the sweaty ones.
4 man premade sweaty SWF? That's the absolute minority in this game.

@DBDVulture said:
It's really simple so I'll explain it to you.
- The survivor objective is shorter than the killer objective. The survivor objective does not move and there should be for the majority of the game be three survivors working on this objective at any given moment during the majority of the time played.
- The killer objective moves because it is played by a person. Crocodiles and lions hunt at watering holes because that is where the game is most vulnerable. Unhooking events put survivors in the same dilemma.
- The AI doesn't get mad when generators are tunneled but survivors do. The killer however is very likely to get upset if they lose 3 gens in the first chase. If survivors don't want to give you an easy chase you can just guard the hook. The easiest way to punish survivors who are gen rushing is to make the unhooks not be "Free". Survivors could choose friends before gens to stop camping but they almost always choose gens before friends.
- Completed generators cannot be turned off and killed survivors cannot come back until the next trial. Therefore survivors should try to finish a gen before starting a new one. Killers should remove the survivors from the game one by one.
- Putting all of this together it becomes clear that killer tunneling is a result of survivors rushing their objective. You really can't blame the killer for tunneling/camping if the survivors are rushing gens. If you want to make the game fair to both sides then you need to change many of the game rules so that killers do not feel camping is the only way to "catch up". Killers need to feel that going for lots of hooks on different survivors is a viable option.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163644#Comment_3163644
-"Had they just made Reassurance basekit and increase it to 60 seconds, I can assure you killers would just give up on camping altogether and would leave the hook IMMEDIATELY to chase someone."
And most of the remaining killers would immediately quit playing the game. Why you ask? Because killer streamers with 9k hours often can't win the game unless they camp/tunnel/slug. I watched two games today on Otz's stream and he tunneled to win both games. Once was on purpose and the other was an intentional camp as "punishment" for being forced to play the Badham map.
99% of the killers would stay, and play around that, that is it. I can see the sweatiest tryhardest players struggling with this (Super Sweaty bully SWF Squad that represents 0,0000000000000000001% of the player base) versus the 8k hours Nurse who can't sleep at night if they don't get a 4k games 400 matches in a row. Those I agree, that would benefit the SWF more. But this is about choosing: Do you balance around the 0,1% of the players punishing the absurdly overwhelming majority, or the other way around? I say let's balance the game around the vast majority of the player base, that 8k Nurse will survive occasionally losing 1 game every 500 matches. They'll be fine.
It would not cause the apocalypse you're talking about here, because most players are caual.
-
Because Nurse can do anything. She's the Mary Sue of Dead by Daylight.
Also, because Wesker seems to have a smaller hitbox on his power at the moment. Do not worry though, he will be buffed to have a +600% bigger hitbox in no time, so they make sure nobody ever misses an attack even if they tried on purpose!

If you stick around long enough you'll learn to ignore very specific people in this forum, it's a complete waste of time to engage.
And yeah, this is like 99% of my matches too. Solo randoms are dying at 4-5 gens most matches and it's usually Wesker in RPD. I've also seen a few Spirits, Nurse of course, and Blight. But it's usually Wesker tunnelling 1 person out with 4 gens left.

@danielmaster87 said:
Why do you say it's useless? Does it not pause the survivor's timer for 30 seconds when someone activates it?
And it should be buffed to 45-60 seconds to be remotely useful at what it's supposed to do: making camping less effective. As it is right now, 30 seconds isn't nearly enough to justify going all the way to the hook and coming back to the generator.
-
Well, this will hurt killers, and you seem to be one of them, who relied on simply standing next to the hook abusing the most broken mechanic a killer can abuse, the survivor being hooked. I'm very, very glad this "strategy" is going to be less and less effective. it's cheap, boring, and dirty. It hurts the game in ways that go beyond just ruining the hooked survivor's experience.
If someone uses Reassurance (and it's WEAK right now, it needs to be buffed) to prolong a hook stage, that survivor is still doing nothing, and what you have to do is make your choice: Do you continue just staring at the hooked survivor, or do you go chase the remaining ones that aren't hooked? If you decide to just camp, sorry buddy, but if this makes you lose the survivors AND the gens, it's entirely on you.
-
The issue I see with Wesker is, if they increase his hitbox grab, he's going to be insufferable. Unless it's very finely tuned, I don't want another killer (Nurse, certain types of Blight) that is uncounterable, and I'm just there for his fun. If he's on the level of Demo, which I think he already is, he can be a very good, balanced A tier. Buff him too much and you have another killer people will throw game against.
About the infection with uroboros thing, I've got mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it's reasonably "easy" to remove as the spray has 2 charges, so the impact isn't huge. On the other hand, the effect of it is so aggravating that if you allow it to consistently affect survivors it's just broken. 8% slower movement speed is HUGE. Especially if you're getting tunnelled it's just pointlessly strong.
-
I prefer to play against Wesker. I get EXTREMELY unlucky against Nemesis. I'm not kidding you, I got his zombies 24-7 on me, they follow me always, block my pallets and corridors, and I feel like I've got an open wound in a Walking Dead episode. My friends always joke about it, that I'm pretty much a bloody magnet for his zombies. I truly hate it.
-
The issue is they didn't punish camping and tunnelling enough. Simple as that. If they made it truly uneffective, I can assure you people would just stop doing it consistently, and you'd only have the occasional Bubba meme build or the usual griefers who always play toxic, doing it. Had they just made Reassurance basekit and increase it to 60 seconds, I can assure you killers would just give up on camping altogether and would leave the hook IMMEDIATELY to chase someone.
Since they're scared of the 3 or 4 very loud killer mains in this forum (they're always the same ones, as I say very often) that like to promote this kind of playstyle, they always tiptoe around these things. They should stop being afraid and act.
-
As always, you will see the vocal minority of killer mains here (it's always the same people, the same 3 or 4 names in every thread saying exactly the same things) yelling that every survivor perk that is -usable- is OP. Hyperfocus isn't OP. It's not even going to be meta.
They said the same thing about Power Struggle, Any means necessary... they just think unless it's trash tier and nobody uses it, it's OP.
It will get nerfed though, because Behaviour listens to these people.

I did this repeatedly in solo queue both yesterday and this morning. The problem with solo queue is often that people are TOO altruistic because they can't tell their friend, "I'll be right there. I'm at 95% on a generator."
I've also used it in matches where there was substantial tunneling. Instead of saving the person on the hook just for them to get tunneled, I went over, used Reassurance, and kept them safe on the hook while a friend of mine was finishing the last generator. The person who was getting tunneled was a random person and I had no communication with them. While I didn't plan it this way, that Reassurance play ended up being a pretty substantial distraction and it allowed the other survivor to get a hook from a camping killer.
Instead of constantly thinking your team is a bunch of potatoes, you really just have to go, "Oh, my teammate used Reassurance and didn't unhook when they could have. There must be a reason. What's their strategy?"
I've also found Reassurance can be a good solo queue way of saying, "Hey, I'm just trying to finish this generator you're hooked right next to in a stealthy way, but I see you and I'll be right back."
The perk really removes a lot of the pressure to unhook asap because it gives you such a large fallback. Sometimes it's better to wait for the unhook, but waiting for the unhook is risky if the killer then comes back to camp. Reassurance basically removes that risk and removes a lot of the times when you'd be forced into a hook trade.
Sorry, but an anecdote where this perk worked doesn't make it good. I also have instances where I made Detective's Hunch help. It's still a trash perk.
-
@konchok said:
Alright, I want to stop all of this non-sense. This perk is legitimately a strong perk and I'll explain why.
This perk isn't just strong against campers, even though it's that too. But it's especially good at one very common scenario. You're nearly finished with a gen but someone's on hook, you finish your gen and the killer comes back to the hook. (very common because the killer is going to want to punish you for prioritizing the generator) At which point the killer can force a trade or get a grab or even force death. In this situation you activate the perk and someone else can get the save while you're getting chased. That situation would have been game ending before and that's no longer the case.
Congratulations, you explained why Reassurance might work in SWF

You don't see pinhead to often, so it could just be inexperience. Not everyone researches killers or keeps up to date on strategies. So that could be the reason...
I bought pinhead yesterday since he was on sale and yeah... they made some fatal errors. One was taking chase to the box so I heard it once I downed them. The other was starting to do the box when I was right next to them. They just weren't coordinated, but yeah, I got my adept at least.
But these players that are clearly clueless and inexperienced shouldn't be matched with veterans with thousands of hours like me. Another clear example of MMR not working.

It's not useless, but it's not great either. Once you factor in the range and the time lost from travelling to the survivor / generator it's pretty underwhelming. However, you cannot allow people to force someone to stay hooked perpetually either so it did need some kind of a change. Where it's strength lies (aside from swf) is endgame where people need time to heal up and try for a rescue.
It's likely going to need some kind of buff though if no base changes for face camping are coming.
Well but that's the thing. If you want people to bring something to help camping, it needs to be good. Anything other than it being good, is just trash. "it's not completely useless" is no good. It equals people not bringing it.
At least make it 60 seconds per hook stage.
