She's absolutely pointless and boring to play against. 90% of my matches are nurses. Putting aside how boring she is, if you're somewhat competent as her (and it's really not that hard), she has virtually no counterplay. And that's extremely boring.
-
Spirit had 0 counterplay before. How was she in a good spot? lol
I can share some of the views on the issues on this game. SWF being the main issue since it breaks balance because of comms. But, come on, Spirit was a bullshit of a killer and she will still probably be after the "nerf".
-
The issue is just the following:
There's a lot of 3-4 man SWF sweaty teams. Someone has to play against those, and it's likely going to be people who play killer regularly obviously.
Then, we have the solo queue or 2men groups (not nearly as powerful), and those get destroyed.
So, your solo queue experience will be trash most of the time.
And your killer experience will also be trash, very often.
How do they balance this? hardly. Because any "solution" you introduce will have consequences. You could let killers know they're going against a SWF group. But then everyone would dodge those. This game can't afford losing thousands of players who play in groups.
If you buff killer too much to compensate. then you absolutely destroy solo queue. It's a nightmare to play solo surv already, so.
Only solution I see is buffing solo queue to the point of being close to SWF, then balance around that.

No.

I don't see a problem with either one. Gens usually go fast because the killer isn't downing survivors, and camping/tunneling succeeds when a survivor is weak in chase and teammates aren't prepared for a camp or don't counter it correctly. There's an answer for everything.
I don't mind being camped/tunneled at all. It will cost the killer every gen if I'm playing well and my teammates are actually doing gens.
I mean you're talking as if every team was friends on coms. Randoms don't have nearly as much information to react to these things.

Do you consider gen-rush and 90 pallets per map a "fair experience" for killers?
Depends on the map? it goes from 90 pallets to 3 pallets.
Certain Autohaven and Macmillan spawns are literal deadzones with 2 double windows and 3 pallets in all map.

I don't really see the issue at all with NOED - first of all it can be removed from the game before it's even active and secondly, the killer is down to 3 perks throughout the entire match. I'd also refute that it's used on less skilled killers, i see it used a lot on low mobility killers, which I think is perfectly understandable as those are the ones that are likely to reach endgame more.
If you don't see the issue with NOED, you know as much about the game as the rest of the developers.
-
Because every time I try to switch it up and have fun I get camped and tunneled out of the game at 5 generators.
-
You have to understand this forum is extremely killer biased. You won't find much support here no matter how many facts you throw. A lot of biased killer mains live in their own reality and only talk about the absolute exception: Full SWF bully squad against a perkless Wraith.
That's the narrative they try to push as if that was the standard match. It's not. What you posted is the average match.
-
Same old mantra repeated over and over. When was killer NOT unfair then? "ATM"
Killer is the easiest and strongest it has ever been. Stop creating alternative realities.
-
Because then she would have a counterplay
-
Wanna play against Spirit? play live. I play solo survivor on the regular game and I’ve gotten 7 spirits in a row. People really like to use killers without counterplays.
-
Solo survivor has been killer favoured and unfun for years now. If you don’t have a SWF squad, get ready to either die on first hook or getting tunnelled out while they heal/loot/occasionally repair.
-
I play solo survivor in higher MMR. Mostly getting destroyed with tremendous amount of camping and tunnelling. Sometimes 1 person escapes through gates or gets hatch. Usually not though.
-
What nerf?

@botrax said:
How did spirit did not have any counterplay you needed to mind game the player or just hold w its was really simple if the random survivor could stop dcing against her and try to play the majority of the player could beat her
I mean they literally said so themselves. It's a coin flip. You are literally going against the opinion of everyone including the people who designed her. She's a flip coin. Guessing. That's not a counterplay.
Curve your extreme bias.

Which I think is funny because nobody asked for a Deathslinger nerf. But again, don't worry killer nerfs are almost always reverted. Then the Boons will be gutted and everyone can go back to complaining that BHVR are survivor biased.
This is exactly how Behavior works. They bait cash with empty promises, then backpedal. I was a fool for thinking they were actually going to give Spirit any counterplay lol

did you play against her in the ptb? im asking because the difference is huge from my experience. i can hear exactly where shes at while phasing.
Yup I played 3 times so far against her. Still playing PTB at the moment
-
She is the same. They changed nothing about her that has any impact in the chase.
-
@glitchboi said:
The only issue with her rn is that Iron Will, an already powerful perk, can be used to make it even more difficult to catch a survivor while phasing in chase. Calm Spirit's ability to counter Doc is fine because it's generally a below-average perk.
I'd say just lock injured noises to 50% or 100% during phasing so that it isn't affected by Iron Will or Stridor.
... but you can literally hear loud footsteps. You literally don't even need them to be injured. If they walk and stop running just come out of phase and normally hit them because they stopped running.
No counterplay.

What are you talking about?
The directional audio cue is still coming and dust kicking is only delayed ATM?
What does the audio cue do again? nothing. Hearing she's coming doesn't change a single thing about her because it's not precise anyway. Considering how buggy sound is in this game anyway it'll be inaccurate most of the time.
"delayed ATM" for Behavior this might mean another 4 years.
-
The one change people were screaming for, and they got scared and reverted back. Lol.
-
@Mandy said:
This is nothing to do with being scared to upset any mains of either side. We were completely open as to why it's not going into the PTB and due to it not being tested there, we will see how the Spirit progresses with the changes that are in the PTB before a decision is made about whether it's going to be needed to add it or not. So same as in the PTB really, where we take feedback on all things and see how the changes play out in Live games.
... but what changes? You changed nothing about her? LOL
"directional audio" so now you can kind of hear she's coming from somewhere. On your left. Maybe. So now you can go down without any mind games anyway as always, but you can kind of hear where she's coming from.
Ok.
As I thought, this update was too good to be trusted.
-
It's just normal killers like Spirit who is ridiculously broken without a counterplay and Nurse who's even worse get reworked. About damn time. All those people crying now just want no counter plays so they can feel good about themselves "because i killz 4 peoplez all thetimes lolz"

I won't spoil exactly what is or isn't in there, but part 2 is packing just as much as part 1.
how do you feel about the state of solo survivor though? do you honestly think playing solo (especially in the sweaty higher MMR) is fun?
-
I have had the exact same experience. I made a thread about it as well. Killers were always campy and tunnelly, but ever since the DS destruction and very specifically the new rank system, it is literally a nightmare. Every - single - game without an exception it's camp and tunnel. I have played 9 games today, and in 7 of them I got facecamped and tunnelled after being BTed without an exception. In the other 2 it was my friend (we were a duo) being facecamped and tunnelled. This is the same as the previous days, every single match someone got camped and tunnelled, 100% of the matches.
This made me stop playing today and I'm going to take a break from the game. I can't be bothered to be tunneled and face camped every single match I play.
