Because unless you're in a SWF group with voice coms, the perk is trash and useless. And I'm sick of killers and SWF having most of the cake and the developers cater to them every.single.patch.
Make solo Q worthy perks, for ######### sake
-
Its whatever. Better than 5 seconds though, at least 10 seconds is noticeable.
-
Trust your friendly killer mains when they like a survivor perk. It usually means the perk is very very strong and has lots and lots of value!
Killer mains LOVE Reassurance. I wonder why. Killer mains also love new DS, new Pharmacy and new Iron Will.
Always trust killer mains judgement.
-
Well you have the Nurses in Silent Hill as iconic foes. Though we do already have a Nurse, but she could be called differently. I would like another Silent Hill DLC for sure.
-
Yeah, we do. And nobody talks about it because only 1 million blood points per match would make solo Q matches worth playing lol
-

I disagree
- Reassurance does exactly what it is supposed to do. It absolutely crippled one of my games because I attempted to proxy camp near some generators, it ended up buying up enough time for the survivors to finish one generator and leave.
- If you don't want to adapt to the new meta, that's entirely on you. There are a ton of fun builds you can try that can help mitigate some of the issues solo qeue has.
- Too early to judge him, but he is nowhere near blight or nurse levels of good. His power is pretty restrictive, but strong if you are accurate.
- My brother in christ, the endurance effect after getting hooked got buffed.
- Reassurance only kinda works for SWF. And anything works for SWF.
- I don't understand this. Completely unrelated to anything I said here.
- We'll have to see in the future, considering how much people are crying for buffs I wouldn't be surprised if he got more in the following weeks
- Another completely unrelated and random answer to what I said

Exactly, it's very interesting what you say π
If you manage to hold a good nurse for 1 minute, and you still lose your game ... what's the problem? π€¨
Maybe the problem is that you played with survivors who are not as good as you against the good nurses ... right?
So the problem is with them, not with her π€
But can we really talk about a "problem"? They are not as good as you so ... it's not your fault, nor the nurse's ... it's up to them to be better.
The problem is easy. Let me explain it to you, so you can dismiss it because as a Nurse main you are used to 4ks every game with virtually no effort:
Nurse plays against herself. The survivor's input barely has any effect. If she can blink correctly, and adjust her blinks properly (it isn't difficult to do after a while) she's so fast and has so many chances with no downsides, she will down you no matter what. You can do everything right, or can do everything wrong. Nurse doesn't care. The only thing you can do is break LOS and try to be unpredictable and constantly lose sight of her, but this is only a temporary fix that will buy you merely seconds. She can simply secure the blinks by playing safer and through sheer experience and because how maps only have so many LOS breakers. This is something good survivor veterans can pull off to momentarily delay it, but ultimately she still is playing against herself. Only very specific maps like The Game give survivors enough of an advantage to do anything against her, and 99% of survivors will get destroyed by a mediocre Nurse effortlessly.
Blight is also busted, but at least he still has to deal with collision and requires far more skill to play.

You know, if you can't play her, don't blame her for that π
I actually do exceptionally well against her. Which means lasting like 50-60 seconds against good ones, which compared to the 5 seconds most people last, it isn't too bad.
Still, she is an abomination that should not exist.

Then talk about balance on forums, you are free to share your opinions here.
But you can not dc because you don't like them. You are ruining game for everyone in this match when you dc.
One would think 6 years of constant complaints and people giving up against her would do something. She's a Bastion for bad killers though. If you get outplayed run to mother Nurse to get you 4k every game. She's never going to be balanced.

Wiretap and Open Handed are not meant to work together.
Yeah, god forbid you can have any fun with survivor perks! Unthinkable!
-
Didn't you hear? They addressed tunnelling and camping. You also have Reassurance now! You -can't- be having this experience.
Sarcasm aside, yeah, pretty much. No amount of bloodpoints is going to make solo Q an enjoyable experience.
-
Can't say I blame them.
-
To be fair this has also been my exact experience. I also feel like putting the game down after playing today. Solo Q is horrendous, it's been like 10 consecutive 4k stomps where people went down to him within 10 seconds.
-
The question is also, why do so many people ragequit/DC/Give up?

Reassurance is still useful. Just because you can't solo stall out a hook does not mean the perk is bad.
PTB Reassurance simply wasn't healthy as the perk rewarded survivors not rescuing their teammate. Worse case you have to hook trade, but if you are consistently hook trading and adding 30 seconds to every hook then the killer is wasting a lot of time.
It requires a coordination for it to be remotely useful that solo Q simply can't have. And you and the few others who "defend" this perk as it is know this very well. Which is why you claim it's fine, because it does nothing, and you want it to do nothing.
It's going to be another perk nobody is going to bring, ever. And for good reason.
Another perk to the large pile of dumpster survivor perks. Together with pharmacy and the likes.
-
This perk serves no purpose and has no use. What surprises me is if/when somebody brings it
-
Slippers? lol
-
Idk what universe you're all playing on, but my Weskers have stomped every single match
-
He feels like Nurse. Though it requires more skill to play and it has a little bit more counterplay (Nurse has zero) Blight is like Nurse in the sense of, if they're experienced and can play him, might as well just move on to the next match.
-
He has absolutely stomped every game that I played against him. I would not say he is weak in any way lol

because no one will know you even have it. And until BHVR adds the ability for survivors to see each others perks, nobody in soloq will play around it.
Alright but why do they need to know you have it. To know the killer is camping they have to approach the hook. If they approach Kinship automatically triggers.

Again, stop with the whatboutism and stick to the discussion please? You are intentionally derailing this thread at this point.
I very much stayed in topic, and simply addressed what you said. You shouldn't bring up a topic if you don't want people to discuss about it.
Again, for the second time, I believe Wesker should be toned down since his grabbing does seem extremely cheesy.
-
The DBD community concentrated in a single person
-
Well, you do main a killer whose only counter is the player being bad. Very fun design indeed.
Anyway, I'm having Wesker absolutely stomp and obliterate every single one of my matches. He always 4ks, and people take about 10 seconds to go down against him. Whatever they want to change about him, if that is the case, should probably be more oriented towards a nerf.
-
I don't get it. Care to elaborate?

@GrimoireWeiss said:
Let's be honest both are pretty bad on solo queue and only work with a SWF, and in that scenario Reassurance is better.
Reassurance is decent for SWF.
Kinship is better for Solo Q.
I agree, neither of them achieves much and it absolutely doesn't counter camping.
-
@Crowman said:
You certainly have some flawed reasoning for why you believe Kinship is better.
First Kinship only works on yourself and only on 2nd state. It also relies on a teammate playing around kinship as there's no indication you have it.
Reassurance works both state of hooks, it used by another teammate who isn't hooked which is a more likely scenario (75% to be the survivor not on hook), and reassurance can be used multiple times in a match. Reassurance helps prevent killers from forcing out the 2nd hook state. I've been watching Otz play while at work and he had a few games of where a survivor he was trying to force into 2nd state got reassurance'd and then saved completely negating his attempt to force out the hook state.
I find my reasoning very much less flawed than yours. "It relies on a team mate playing around kinship"
No it doesn't. It requires less effort than Reassurance. if your team mate slightly approaches (16 meters is generous), sees killer camping, and leaves, the time the killer wastes is greater, and the time the survivor wastes is much less. Now, in very situational circumstances, to avoid going into second stage from first, I mean sure. But it's so situational and overall a bad perk.
-
I haven't won a single match against him. He's consistently 4king every match, I've played 10 or so. Fun solo Q as always. Will probably take another 2 months break after this is it keeps going this way

In solo Q kinship is more useless.
It literally achieves more for less. I don't see how.

Well if the killer is still camping while you may have done nothing for 30 seconds you gave the other 2 survivors an extra 30 seconds on gens.
But then Kinship does the same thing (plus 4 seconds extra) and you dont even have to approach that much. So you can continue repairing even faster.
In solo Q, Reassurance is just useless.
-
@KayTwoAyy said:
Kinship is trash in solo queue for the sole reason that you have no control over whether or not it gets value.
Your teammates don't know youre using it, and definitely wont expect you to be using it.
What control do you have over Reassurance? if you'r eon the hook you have no control. And if you're the one going to unhook, you will have to go all the way to the hook, kiss the survivor on the cheek to activate it, and then go back to your generator. Congratulations, you achieved absolutely nothing. Might as well keep repairing.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Kinship requires a survivor stay there during the duration and does not notify the killer. Iβm pretty sure, in a hard camp situation, that Reassurance is better.
It does not. You can trigger it and leave, it still goes for 34 seconds.
So no, Reassurance is not better.
-
Yeah, let's nerf the only new survivor perk that's not completely F dumpster tier.
-
This is one of those "Behaviour moves" that nobody understands. Like, they'll do something good (from time to time) and also, while they're at it, they do things like this that nobody understands. It's truly puzzling.

Well hypothetically it could be the two timers run simultaneously rather than add together in series. Ideally they should run in series rather than in parallel but I donβt know which way it actually works. π€·ββοΈ
Well it should honestly stack. Like, if people devote 2 whole perks to extending hook timer, it absolutely should

do you think 20 seconds of Endurance during the End Game Collapse isn't strong, especially now that DS and OTR do not work?
I think if you compare how common camping and tunnelling it is, and how toxic it is as well for the game, the pros heavily outweight the cons. Also, not everyone is getting carried by voice communication just like you are.
-
@lauraa said:
My teammates were already laughing all the way to the Exit Gates with 15 second BT, so much so that I decided to go all in with a BT, Guardian, NOLB, Adrenaline build and now that it's 20 seconds, my teams basically gonna get the Star powerup from Mario.
Another episode of "Things that never happen"
-
@Crowman said:
There's no reason it shouldn't.
Kinship will activate first since it's 16m range and then after you wait out the kinship duration you should be able to reassurance.
Well but if you have to wait it out, then it's only good for SWF (Like virtually everything in this game, by the way)
My question was more, if it automatically stacks.

The name Power Struggle makes it sound like it should be relevant to being carried. Boil Over throws the killer around and I thought PS should slow them down. Could be too strong that way but its current state doesn't offer much except when you make it work that one time out of 20 matches you can smile.
Don't overestimate it. It might work one every 200 matches.
-
@PaintedDeath said:
Power Struggle isn't THAT bad, I would go so far as to call it a more reliable Decisive Strike.
You don't need Flip-Flop either. When I'm running Power Struggle, I don't build around it, I throw it in understanding I probably won't get use out of it, but when I do it's clutch. I here's my build and I'll talk about it a bit.
Power Struggle, Parental Guidance, Boil Over, Lithe.
In the perfect world, what happens is Killer picks you up and goes Waltzing through a pallet, you drop it, stunning the killer triggering Parental Guidance, Lithe over pallet and then run like hell. That's probably not how it's gonna go down though, so you have Lithe to just use as you normally would, but since it has a trigger it won't 100% be on cooldown when you go down like Sprint Burst would. Boil Over is pretty obvious, if you can manage to be enough trouble for the killer he might make a mistake, extending your wiggle and giving you breathing room. Boil Over also obscures their aura reading on hook, so he might miss the hook on the other side of the wall and go for a farther hook, helping you increase the likelihood they might walk through a pallet, and giving you the wiggle progress you need. Should you go down, and then they drop while carrying you, you've almost guaranteed a wiggle off, which will trigger Parental Guidance also, so you have 2 routes to land that stun, not counting pallet stuns and such. So you aren't 100% shooting for getting the Power Struggle, and you've got a couple of different options with the build.
Yeah no, it's not a more reliable DS. Even as useless as DS is now.

this is why nurse and blight are spammed, they are the only killers that can traverse big maps with good movements
i would say the oni has the same thing, but his problem is once he activates his powers they are really awkward to control, assuming u can even find survivors to trigger your powers
they are the only killers with no counterplay played sweaty*
Especially so Nurse by a good margin though.

just remember this. 4 survivors, 1 killer. That's all you need to know.
Just remember this, Pvp, not a cutscene. That's all you need to know.
-
I don't know what part of "I'm not sitting on a gen for 500 days" some people or Behaviour don't undertand. It seems to not fit into their heads that I'm just not going to put up with that lol. And luckily, many others won't either.
They either revert the thana and speed buffs, or this game will be miserable for both survivors and killers for many years to come.
-
Difference is, if it does become more "common" again, killers will inevitably get back into the habit of waiting. And unlike old Dead Hard that you could use for distance, this one is braindead easy to avoid.
-
Sure I'll add to it:
- Work on your master's degree.

Another killer bringing up Dead hard. You really must be having daily nightmares about that perk, you just can't let it go lol
