Just keep in mind that majority if not all of them are immature kids who live with their parents. I mean if you're over 21 and leaving nasty comments to people online, you seriously need to grow up, that's just embarrassing.
But kids are stupid. Extremely stupid. Nothing will change that. The older you get the more you realize it.

Freddy is OP against low skilled survivors who can't loop. Yes current Freddy can see auras but he's also easily loopable. So if you can loop then you have an advantage because you can bait him into long chases. At least the new freddy will have some anti-looping ability and then add to that his ability to teleport to gens and it sounds pretty OP.
-
Camping punishes everyone. 11,902 blood points for a killer is really low and I guarantee he depiped as well.. On average I get 20,000-35,000 blood points as killer per match. You don't even have to get 4k or 3k to easily reach 20,000 bp if you don't camp. What's funny is when a killer brings a bloody party streamer or anniversary cake into the match and then camps. I just want to message them "why the hell did you even bring that if you were going to camp? You know you can get so many more blood points for all of us if you didn't play like a douche?" But I refrain.
-
Spine chill is used by a lot of survivors though, how would that make it underrated?
-
And correct me if I'm wrong but if the killer closes the hatch when the gates are already powered doesn't that automatically open the exit gates? If so then that would be a tremendous advantage for the survivor.
-
There is one situation where it might come in handy. If there is one generator left and you fix that generator as the sole survivor before the killer finds the hatch the survivor then has three possible exits he can escape through: the hatch or one of two exit gates. That would force the killer to 1.) stop looking for the hatch and patrol the exit gates or 2.) Keep looking for the hatch and risk the survivor escaping through an exit gate.
In this situation the endgame would become much easier for the survivor but it would be such a rare occurrence to happen that it wouldn't be worth the risk of using it when there are perks that come in handy much more frequently that one could use instead.
-
It's gotten easier to rank up as survivor. I'm a rank 7 survivor and I'm terrible so. I also noticed a lot of DBD streamers have been getting more potato survivor teammates lately even in red ranks. I'm rank 9 killer and I've been getting some red rank survivors and personally I haven't found it anymore challenging than usual.
-
If there were DC's early in the game I'll be a nice killer but that's the only exception. If it's a fair match then no. They're all getting the hook.
-
Tunneling is just a sound tactic. As killer If you can get rid of one survivor quickly your chances of winning the match go up tremendously. When I play survivor and someone tunnels me I get it. I don't like it, but I get it.
The best counter to being tunneled is to get better at looping and escaping the killer. When I play killer if someone gives me a hard time in a chase, I won't tunnel them. I think "okay that guy is good better look for someone else." And if kiler isn't that smart then they get to chase you around for ten minutes while all the gens get done.
-
I think majority of people who complain about Freddy are people who only play with Nurse and Spirit. When the new Freddy comes out they'll complain that he's not viable as well.
-
This is precisely why I don't play trapper lol. Worst killer for me.
-
Often times when I'd bring an anniversary cake, the survivors would being bs maps, fog, insta-heals and swf. So next game I bring an ebony mori and then that's usually when survivors would decide to bring the anniversary cakes. Lol. Too bad.
-
It depends. Either one can be easy or difficult depending on] different factors. How skilled are your teammates, how skilled is the killer, does the killer have an ebony mori, what's the map, ect...
Sometimes playing killer can be very difficult, sometimes super easy (so easy that I don't even pip up.)

Myers is one of the weakest Killer whatever his add-on is. I know he is not in NA.
Myers with scratched mirror in a map like Lerys is pretty much unstoppable unless you really suck. It's super easy to catch people off guard and to no where survivors are at all times. The only way you lose is if you chase one survivor around the entire time and let them loop you to death which would be a really bad tactic and a waste of the addon.
Myers can be very OP. He has some good builds. But glass shard and dead rabbit are just small enhancements, not OP.
-
They should have an ultra rare offering that allows an extra perk for one game. Once you place the offering in the killer loadout screen an extra perk slot opens up.
-
At least we'll still have scratched mirror Myers (who is better than Freddy) which only requires a simple add-on.
I just hope the new Freddy is better in more ways than not. Maybe they could keep Freddy's aura reading ability with an add on.

Stop crying about your nerfed perk little survivors! Protect your teammates!
I play killer probably more than I play survivor. But I play enough of both to see things from both sides. Ash deserves a strong perk. The way they have his perk now is just trash tier. I understand the problem with it before is that it didn't require skill, but the way they have it now it just isn't going to come in handy majority of games and the drawback to it is just too large which is why nobody uses it anymore.
I don't think the devs are going to leave it in the trash forever, they'll need to refigure it somehow to make it a more balanced perk that people will actually use.

It's a really nice idea. Hard to pull off. What about the one-shot powers though? Any idea for those or would you just consider them a counter to it?
Or you could gain a token for each escape during a chase, you wouldn't need to get hit. It just needs to be something based on player skill and escaping the killer takes skill.

@RoKrueger said:
Camping is not bad, it is only bad for you when the survivors are not brain dead and actually do generators and escape leaving their friend to die alone (that's their best course of action). Camp without remorse, leave the empathy to the survivors
Best course of action is to let the camped survivor stay on the hook for as long as possible but rescue them before they die then have another survivor who hasn't been hooked bait the killer into attacking and hooking them. That way the timer starts over and you still have three survivors working on gens.
-
I imagine a lot of people are.playing killer right now. Not only because of ghostface but also because of the cakes. This probably explains why it's taking so long to get a lobby as killer.
-
I use Nurses Calling, NOED, Ruin and then for the 4th perk usually I'll put in another perk that helps his aura reading ability like Bitter murmer (helps with NOED) or B&C. Sometimes I'll do Blood Warden.
With Freddy I think you really want to maximize his aura reading ability so you always know where survivors are to put into dream world. If you had Nurses calling, Bitter Murmer, B&C, Blood Warden and the class photo addon survivors will have no place to hide. One thing I like about playing Freddy is that you barely waste time looking for survivors. It's just catching them that is the hard part.
-
NOED is one of the best perks in the game. Why wouldn't you use it?
But if you bring an ebony mori you probably won't need NOED unless you do really bad or you're playing against optimal survivors in which case they'll probably have the totems cleansed. Ebony Moris are almost guarrenteed 4ks or one survivor might escape through the hatch if you don't know where it is.

Tiers are very much subjective, killers have different abilities and powers that create completely different gameplays, so people can choose the one they enjoy the most and try to master it.
Of course some killers are stronger in general than others, but someone could still be bad with a top tier killer and great with a low tier killer.
Exactly. You know how many bad nurses I have played? Lots. I recently played one purple rank killer who was using the nurse and it was obvious that was not his main because he was laughably bad. Like Rank 20 bad. Each killer is hard to master. You play a lot with one killer and you're going to struggle when you try a different one. Each killer takes time to get good with.
-
Depends on the map and what killer I'm using. When I play Freddy detection perks don't work that well. Often times survivors will hide when they know I'm near but not realize I'm standing right in front of them. Otherwise detection perks can be a pain.
In general though I would say decisive strike and balanced landing are the two perks that give me the most headache.
Decisive strike because 60 seconds can feel like a long time and sometimes I'll get it even when I didn't think I was tunneling. Or sometimes a survivor will purposely act like a potato just to distract me that much longer.
Balanced landing is a major headache against a skilled survivior who knows all the looping tricks.
The most overrated and overused perk: self-heal. Big time waster and reason I always use nurse's calling.
Most underused and potentially game changing perk: Unbreakable. I've saved so many games with this perk from a killer who was slugging and looked to have the game under control. Not always going to be useful but when it is you'll be glad you had it.
-
Killers have memento moris and add-ons that can do one hit downs. If they got rid of insta-heals, they'd have to get rid of ebony moris. I play both survivor and killer about equally. Both sides have addons that can be powerful. Hell, Myers has an addon where he can just grab survivors and kill them without even downing them.
-
Eh, don't know but personally I wouldn't even bother with that. Red paint brush alone you can see the survivors pretty darn close to know where they are at all times. I don't see the point of having it to zero. Why would you need to see their aura when they are right in front of your face?
The problem with red paint brush in my opinion is the speed penalty and if you're not careful it can lead to obsessing over a survivor who is really good at looping. At least for me, it's mentally harder to pull off a chase when I have red paint brush.
One potentially very positive thing about the Freddy rework is that he'll have better red add-ons.
-
Freddy just needed to be tweaked, not completely reworked. Be nice if they kept the old Freddy while also having the new one... but they won't.
-
Myers addons are better. Myers has addons that make him really OP and nearly impossible to win against.
-
If you are constantly getting beat by red rank players than you should depip because obviously you don't belong in red ranks. The game balances itself out that way.
-
Lol. This makes it even funnier. I was using the red paint brush so my speed was actually SLOWER than normal. No hacking. He claimed he reported me. Okay, I'm sure the devs can easily see no mods were used. I wouldn't know the first thing about hacking.
-
Instead of Freddy placing fake pallets and being a "trapper" (a type of killer he is not), it would be better if once a survivor is fully asleep all pallets remaining on the map become "fake" to that survivor until they wake up. In other words, pallets become completely unusable to survivor that is asleep. That would make being asleep an actual threat and something you'd want to wake up from.
-
When I first started using Freddy I would put one survivor to sleep and then just tunnel him and I would lose constantly. Freddy has taught me the importance of chase abandonment. And the good thing with Freddy is that you can abandon chases a lot easier than you can with other killers as long as you have multiple people to sleep . Let's say I put 3 people to sleep in the beginning because they were all near the same gen like they always are. I can hit one and then see he's running towards a looping jungle gym, so I can turn back around and see one of the other survivors running towards a gen so I abandon that chase and head towards him. Doing this constantly will put yourself all over the map and create a lot of pressure. The more you play with Freddy the better you will get at juggling survivors and knowing when to go for a kill and when to abandon. You don't have to get caught in a loop with Freddy, you can be all over the place.
I just hope the rework doesn't destroy the way I play with him now. I've spent so much time learning to play with him that I have difficulty ranking up with any other killer.
Edit: Nurse's calling is a must have perk with Freddy. Since survivors can wake themselves with self heal, Nurse's calling will greatly help counter this by making them easy to find again so you an put them right back to sleep.
-
The way they have it now is anti-tunneling. What you suggest would not be anti-tunneling. If you get unhooked and you happen to be the next survivor I find and down again it doesn't necessarily mean I'm tunneling you, particularly if enough time has passed. It means you're just really bad at hiding from the killer. An anti-tunneling perk needs to be timed like it is now so that way if a killer camps the hook and then chases the same hooked survivor he'll get the ds.
-
Every killer is viable if you know how to use them. There are plenty of streamers who are in the top ranks who play with a variety of killers and get 3k or 4k consistently. One YouTuber I like to watch is TrU3Ta1ent and he is a beast with Freddy.
One thing he does is he does not engage in long chases. If someone is in a loopable area he leaves and finds other survivors, putting as many to sleep as possible and attacking strategically and when the survivors are the most vunerable.
One thing Freddy is really good at once you really learn to play him is that he destroys stealth. He is a very hard killer to hide from. Even when not in dream world, he has addons that can greatly increase the range of his dream demon, so you can just be walking around with the dream demon active and find survivors crouching in tall grass without actually seeing them.
With perks like nurse's calling and BBQ it makes hiding from Freddy that much more difficult.
People say Freddy is low tier but learn to play him and he is at least mid-tier for even average players.

Maybe they could add an ultra rare offering that allows a fifth perk to be used. Could be found in both surivivor and killer bloodwebs.
-
The higher the ranks you go the less originality to you are going to come across, this is going to be the case no matter what the devs do. The fact is people who are in the top 5 generally play with what works the best and there can only be one best. Sure you might see a few differences here and there, but for the most part they've already established what works and it's going to be mostly the same. If they nerf the nurse they'll find something else.
This is why I'm not eager to climb ranks and don't really care about depiping.
-
Now what doesn't make sense is I just played against someone who was camping with the Hag. I wanted to message him after the game "You know the beautiful thing about the hag is that you can camp with her without actually camping with her, just lay down some traps around the hook." But I didn't want it to be interpreted as salty even though I wasn't, I was honestly confused by his tactic with that particular killer.
-
If Leatherface is face camping there is nothing you can do to save that person. Trying to save them will just result in the both survivors being downed. His chainsaw makes him the ultimate camper.
- Don't get caught
- If another survivor does get caught, just do gens as fast as possible
-
Sometimes the random teammates will be so bad that even the killer will notice and take pity on the ones who play well.
I was in a game playing as Freddy and there were two guys lefts with one gen remaining. One of them was a rank 6 survivor, the other was like rank 15. I was chasing the rank 6 guy around for a good ten minutes before the last gen was finally done. I was able to down the rank 6 guy before he could reach an exit gate and the other ass (who was fully healthy) left him to die. I couldn't kill the rank 6 guy. I teased him for a little bit for giving me such a run around but then I just let him go. It wouldn't have been right to kill him. I wish I would have killed his crappy teammate instead. I was Freddy, the other guy wasn't even in dream state, and it took him ten minutes to complete a gen and I had no perks to slow down the gens and then he leaves the guy who actually did all the work to die.
Oh yeah and then the rank 15 guy messages me to tell me I suck. Like #########. lol.
-
Small game is the counter to totems.
-
Have you even watched any Nightmare on Elm Street movies? How did you not know Freddy's lullaby? And of course they are still going to have the dream state. Freddy only exist in dreams. It wouldn't be Freddy if you didn't have to put the survivors to sleep.
-
I love Freddy's red paint brush. The slight movement penalty doesn't trash it in my opinion. WIth the red paint brush if you put a survivor into dream world it's nearly impossible for the survivor to hide from freddy. I love that I can see their auras whether close or far way. If I take a mori into battle, I make sure I always have my red paint brush to go with it. At least somebody is dying.
I agree about The black box though, it's pretty worthless. Okay I can see where the survivor is to begin the game: furthest generator from where I start (like I didn't already know that.) Maybe start ALL the survivors in dream world. (Even then it's so easy to wake up the benefit of that wouldn't be that great.)

..what. Camping is the ONLY thing that Leatherface's good at. He has no map pressure and his chainsaw is clunky to use.
You are not entitled to saving everyone who's on a hook. If the killer's willing to throw away the entire game to secure a kill, then you should punish that decision by pushing through generators and getting out.
Your change wouldn't solve anything anyway. Even if he can use his chainsaw x amount of times, he can still just afk at the hook and chainsaw when he needs it.
It's the only thing he's good at for people who are otherwise unable to build any proficiency with the killer. I've played people who have used leatherface without camping and did well but the majority are no-skill campers who would not be able to play well with any other character.
I recently played a guy using leatherface who got two survivors to DC early because nobody wants to play against a boring camper. With only two of us we were able to complete all the generators. I escaped but unfortunately the other guy got downed as soon as the last generator got complete. And what does this idiot leatherface do? He camps him. So I jut powered the exit gate and left.
Too many bad players use leatherface. It's not because leatherface is only good at camping, it's just that the majority of people who use him are only good at camping.
-
If you are directionally challenged like me it's a very useful perk. It's like a gps system for pallets. I'm the type of person who gets lost very easily and I end up spending a lot of time just aimlessly wondering around if I don't have something to help me track things like Deja Vu (most people would consider this a useless perk but I find it useful.)

Well you gotta consider that Carrie isn't really evil and she doesn't have a known base attacking weapon. She also really only used her powers in moments of anger or insecurity as well. Her mother and the classmates that tortured her were actually the villains in her film.
Carrie was evil. Yes she was bullied but a lot of killers are, that's how they become killers. Jason was bullied. Freddy was burned alive by a mob of angry parents (okay but he probably deserved that.) Even in real life most psychopathic killers had abusive childhoods. It's a sad fact. But just because someone is mean to you doesn't mean you can kill them.
-
I was in a game where the killer disconnected after the last gen was completed because he didn't get a single hit on a survivor the entire time. I honestly felt bad for him. lol.
Rage quits happen on both sides. Let's not talk about just one side to this. All rage quitters, whether survivor or killer, are sore losers and need to stop playing the game.

I've got a bad habit of continuing the chases far too long. There's good advice here and I think, unless I feel I have a good chance to catch them, I'm going to start breaking off the chase after perhaps 20-30 seconds instead of keeping it going longer. I've got into chases and they've gone on that long several gens have been done without me realising it.
Yeah I have that habit too until recently and I realized that some SWF groups will have a "chase me" guy who is really good at looping to distract the killer. Yesterday I was in a game where this guy kept baiting me to chase him. He kept vaulting in and out of windows while running to trigger the survivor notification and I completely ignored it and just focused on patrolling the generators. I ended up killing everyone except him. Sure enough he was the highest ranked survivor.
-
Freddy is an end-game killer. All of his original perks are designed for the end. You want to get all the survivors to sleep once the last gen is repaired. If you have blood warden you want to hook a survivor once the gates are powered. This will stop anyone from leaving for sixty seconds. If the survivors are asleep at this time they'll be easy to track down. If you have NoED active it becomes even easier. It can be tricky and not always easy but if you play the cards right Freddy can have a mean endgame.

shouldnt be near the hook. so literally after hooking someone oh yeah survivor aka flashlight warrior claudette bum rushes the hook. unhooks right under my nose all i can do is put her and the survivor to sleep and wait. think of the scenarios of why a killer would still be near the hook before commenting .... and having to follow the survivor before i can hit them just waiting thinking come on already go to sleep .... yeah enough said
@dannyfrog87 said:
yeah amazing power when survivors get unhooked right under your nose with no penalty. and is loopable beyond ridiculous levels. yeah the rework needs to happen asap lol
The simple fix for this would be to prevent survivors from performing any action while in the sleep transition. If Freddy can't do anything while they are falling asleep then they shouldn't be able to do anything either but move around. It doesn't even make sense: how are they going to work on a gen or unhook a surivivor WHILE falling a asleep?
It's a simple fix that wouldn't require a huge rework or change to any of the current addons or perks. And it would be fair as long as the survivors can still move.
