  • A " bad" Spirit will usually get 2 or 3k. That's "bad" for her. Honestly if you can't get 4k with spirit on majority of games, I'd hate to see you play a killer that actually takes skill.

  • "Spirit takes more than just headphones! She's actually a really hard killer to play! It takes LOTS of skill guys, trust me!" LOL. That's why literally everyone plays Spirit and ranks up with her.

Nurse takes skill. You see all these baby nurses who get juked all the way to chinatown. Spirit? No. I've never gone against a spirit that was really, really bad because it's impossible to be really bad with her.

Red rank spirits are a dime a dozen. There is nothing impressive about being red rank with spirit. She's a killer for people who are actually not very good at the game to feel good. Now if you're a red rank clown or a red rank wraith that's impressive. That takes skill.

But spirit is the ebony mori of killers. Boring and super easy.

  • Spirit even without the addons is too strong imo. Spine chill will help stop gen grabs sure, but not much else since you can't see her. You could be running right into her for all you know

  • At least now as survivor you can dodge lobbies if you get survivors in green ranks or higher. Sorry but green ranks and higher means either the player is new, the person might be good but doesn't play often, or they dc and suicide a lot. I'll only play with ranks 8 and under. I'm rank 6 currently so it's not being hypocritical. I've been trying to give the green ranks a chance but it seems 8 times out of ten it's a dc'er or someone that's just not very good.

  • Playing survivor and I'm getting mostly spirit games and some Freddy ( probably because of oblivious now being a part of his kit, people want to try him) and very few of the new killer.

  • Huntress doesn't have any other ultra rares so they are very common in her bloodweb.

  • The reason why bad killers usually run noed is because it's only a perk you would run if you think you are going to need it. In other words by running noed you're basically expecting multiple survivors to finish all the gens and reach the end game. The only time I run noed is if I'm learning a new killer because in that instance I am expecting to lose. But if I'm playing a killer that I have hundreds of hours on I don't.

  • Probably the best tier list I've seen. And if you think putting trapper on A list is a joke, you obviously haven't played any red rank trappers. They are tough.

I don't know about the new killer yet though. From what I've played against him he's been pretty weak. The only time he has gotten a 4k against my group is when he had a mori.

Huntress is really dependent on the user and the map but more often than not she's a potato.

  • I like tru but he can be a bit hypocritical at times. He slugged this game very early when it wasn't necessary to win, something I've heard him complain about killers doing in other streams.

Another thing I noticed about tru is that when survivors 4 man escape against him he always accuses them of either being swf or sniping or both, but without real evidence. ( I lost therefore swf)

  • I love it. Honestly think it makes me better in chases playing survivor. It 's pumping.

  • Myers is better than plague for a couple reasons. Plague often has to go out of her way to get corrupt purge. Not only that but survivors get a noise notification. All survivors have to do is hide until her power goes out. If survivors are smart and patient they can easily counter her. While you can also wait out myers he at least doesn't have to go out of his way to power up. He can get you exposed in chase.

Second reason myers is better is his addons. Infinite tier 3 is near op and his ability to kill survivors without ever downing them is also insane. Plagues addons are just okay.

If plagues corrupt purge wasn't based on an automatic timer but based on use instead (as in she had a certain amount of corrupt that she would have to use before it went out) than she would be a much stronger killer.

But to say myers is better than spirit is pure nonsense that reaches trolling levels. For all of myers strengths he's still a killer that can be easily looped.

  • Probably the worst tier list I've ever seen.

  • A survivor with a key doesn't have to complete any of the objective at all. They only have to wait. They don't have to be the one that actually does anything. If you play solo you'll notice people with with keys are often the most useless since they hide a lot of the game.

  • The killer was face camping and managed to get more than 20k bloodpoints? How did he do that? You know face camping at the end game isn't the same as face camping at the very beginning of a match, right?

Also when a killer face camps it's very hard for survivors to earn points as well since there aren't many chases and one survivor would especially suffer if they were being face camped on a hook most of the match and yet all the survivors in your game made lots of blood points.

I don't know something tells me the killer wasn't really facecamping. At least not the whole game.

  • This is why borrowed time should be based on meters and not the killers terror radius. It's suppose to be an anti-camping perk but there are a handful of killers who can still camp and BT won't do anything. Well all of them can bypass it with insidious.

I would change it to where BT activates if the killer is within 28 meters of the hook when the survivor is saved.

  • I run small game to find the totems so I don't really like going against trapper killers when I have it because it makes finding the totems harder. Especially against hag and trapper. The notification is going off constantly and makes it harder to find the totems. Against Freddy it's not so bad though.

I use it a lot now because 90% of killers run ruin. As a solo survivor you can't really rely on the other survivors to be good enough to power through it so being able to find the totem quickly is important otherwise you might have a bunch of survivors doing nothing or messing up skill checks.

  • A mansion with a giant hedge maze like from the movie The Shining. I know that was a hotel but whatever.

  • A lot of killers will accuse teams of being SWF when they are not. So many times killers have accused me of playing SWF when I don't know any of the people I'm playing with nor were we communicating. Just saying it's possible to get gens done fast and not be SWF. And perks don't really tell you anything since most survivors use the same perks. I mean there's only a handful of perks that are really good: DS, balanced landing, dead hard, borrowed time, etc...

And then some people will assume the team they are playing against is SWF if they see a higher rank in with lower ranks but that happens even when the team is not SWF. DBD matchmaking is just not very good a lot of times.

Maybe the teams you were playing against really were SWF. Just saying I know a lot of killer mains who will complain about it with no real proof just because they lost.

It's not always about the tactics though.

For example, one (of the multiple) things I dislike about Spirit is the absolute lack of feedback.

What could I have done different? Did she hear me? Did she bump into me? Did she just guess what I was? I dunno. But I'm going on the hook.

If Spirits for example had a trail of ectoplasm appear when, and ONLY when SHE APPEARS, that worked sort of like scratch marks for her, that showed the path she traveled and would linger for a few seconds before fading.

That would be the kind of feedback I believe she's sorely lacking. Does she move a particular way a lot? I'll be able to know. Did she go around? Did she go behind me? Did she cut me off? Did she just bump into me?

Just even that kind of small feedback would make her more enjoyable to face for me. Right now, she can just appear pretty much out of nowhere, slap me in the face, and it's kinda like "Oh. Okay. Maybe it'll work next time?"

This doesn't weaken her power at all directly, but it gives more feedback to the survivor. They can see why they got caught, or why they avoided getting caught more easily.

I'll say again, Spirit being strong isn't why I hate playing against her. Again, I'd rather go up against a Nurse, who's much worse to go up against than Spirit, if all you care about is winning.

This. She needs to give more feedback to the survivor. She is not balanced until she does. Spirit in her current state is the exact definition of imbalanced. She can track survivors but survivors can't track her. Imbalanced; lack of proportion or relation between corresponding things.

  • Not trying to be mean or anything, I'm honestly just curious: Is English your first language? It reads like you used a bad translator.

  • If you want to guarantee a double pip as killer you basically have to hook every survivor 3 times. No camping, no moris, no insta-downs, no slugging all the survivors before hooking them... you have to play them straight. I can understand it to a degree because that does take more skill. If you're using any kind an ebony mori or just killing a bunch of potatoes with devour hope, that doesn't require optimal skill to win. An ebony mori is a handicap. There's nothing impressive about winning like that.

  • This is why ds is a necessary perk. Too many games the killer will tunnel especially at the end game (and you can't really blame the killer there.) DS has helped me escape so many times. One of the most useful perks in the game. I don't get survivors who don't use it. It will come in handy in at least 1 out of 3 games usually. And not just come in handy but be the difference in whether you escape or not.

  • @FireHazard said:

Hes the worst Killer because of how little map pressure he can produce. Yes, he has a insta down saw that can hit multiple Survivors, but that's situational at best really.

He used to be able to insta-down multiple Survivors while they unhooked another in the basement, hence why hes always mentioned when talking about basement camping or camping builds in-general. Because that's all hes really good for honestly.

His only good build is Enduring + Spirit Fury + Ruin + ???. And that's really it, nothing else really makes him stand out. Granted, people do main him and he is viable in high level play, its just not so... "noob friendly" as Billy is, or how Myers is.

In green ranks he dominates because of the massive amount of mistakes the Survivors do in that rank, in Red Ranks hes a push over. Unless you know how to play him, hes generally an awful Killer and I've P3-50'ed him, and it was a nightmare. To get a 4k with him, you have to really work for it and that's saying something...

I honestly, truly, without a shadow of a doubt, think he's worse than Pre-patch Freddy. I honestly believe that, and stand by it 100%. At least Freddy was fun despite being one of the worst Killers... Leatherface isn't fun, even when you're winning.

@GrootDude would love to prove me wrong though lmao. But its just my opinion after all.

Insidious would be the forth perk.

  • The only problem with deliverance that I see in solos is that players will use it when it's not necessary. Sometimes I'll be going to save a survivor, killer is nowhere near me, and just as I'm about to get there, they pull themselves off. Great! Not only did you make me waste my time and not get any altruism points but now I can't even heal you. Good job dummy!

Deliverance is one of those perks that will come in handy sometimes but not every game. People who use it whenever they can and not only when it's necessary are annoying.

  • I've only played against one really good rank #1 nurse on console who used no addons and no perks and still won against all red ranks players. Other than that I've only played some nurses that were decent but not great and many that were so bad I felt sorry for them and assumed they were just playing nurse for the daily ritual.

  • Some of You guys must be playing a completely different game than me. Lery's is the best map for killers hands down, in my experience. As killer I get 4k easy at Lery's majority of the time and as a survivor my entire team gets demolisted majority of the time. I hate the map as survivor but I love it as killer. If I'm playing killer and somebody brings a shattered glasses I'm like "thank you good sir, I was going to bring one myself but I was all out." Now as survivor if another teammate brings one I want to punch them in the face because it ALWAYS results in a good game for the killer. Doesn't even matter who the killer is.

  • Sometimes you'll get a streak of really bad games. Like on Monday I don't know what it was but I had about 8 games in a row where the entire team just got demolished. But lately I've been doing good again and escaping a lot of games. It goes back and forth like that sometimes.

  • Get borrowed time. If a killer camps do as many gens as possible until the survivor is about to die then go save the survivor. It's okay if the killer downs you in fact you want them to down you and not the person you saved. Borrowed time will give them an extra chance at escaping (and hopefully they have DS too so if the killer does go hard after them they'll get another free escape.) By the time the killer hooks you almost all gens should be done and if the killer decides to face camp you at this point he's an idiot and you'll get 3 or possbiliy 4 to escape.

When I was lower ranks I always used borrowed time and DS. Now I don't use borrowed time because I don't see many campers anymore and it just doesn't come in handy as it did when I was first playing and all the rank 15's and up would camp. But I still use DS because you'll get tunnelers in all ranks.

  • If I bring an ebony mori to a match and you don't teabag or flashlight spam me during the game, I won't use it. But do that and you're dead. Only toxic survivors deserve the mori.

  • Freddy is the most overrated killer imo. All of his strengths are weaker versions of what Spirit can already do. Why transport to generators with his power when you can just play Spirit and do that with much less warning? Why use the snares to slow down survivors that don't work that well when you can just be spirit and catch up to any survivor a lot quicker and they can't mind game you as easily?

At least with Myers there are things he can do that no other killer can. He can kill a survivor without ever downing them. He basically has a built in mori with his addons except you never have to down a survivor first. Myers can completely destroy any survivor's stealth with his scratched mirror or he could have a built in NOED that last majority of the game (just use play with your food to get the speed boost.)

  • Genrushing: killer focuses on one survivor while the rest do gens.

Genrushing isn't the problem. The problem, if we are to say what is broken with survivor, is there are too many easy loops in most maps that allow survivors to keep a killer in a chase too long. Well, most killers anyway.

Now the killer can just leave the chase and look for other survivors. The only problem is that if you are playing with a bunch of red rank survivors that are good at looping you'll just be forced into the same thing again. There really is no counter to it if you are playing a killer that can't successfully ends loops quickly and move to gens fast. This is why Spirit is so good and most other killers are a nightmare to play.

  • What killer do you main? If you are any good with Spirit or Billy you should be getting 3 or 4k most of your games. There aren't many group of survivors that can play well against a skilled spirit or billy. I must have at least close to a thousand hours on this game and I've only been in one game so far where all four survivors escaped a red rank Spirit who wasn't trying to farm or anything (in fact they raged quit at the very end which was hilarious.)

Any m1 killer though and you're going to have a bunch of bad games. It's unavoidable. Too easy to loop and not enough map pressure.

    1. Spirit
    2. Billy
    3. Hag
    4. Trapper
    5. Nurse

Now I play on console which is why I don't rank Nurse that high. I am a red rank survivor and still I just don't see many good nurses. Very rare. I see Spirit and Billy all the time and they are both extremely annoying to go against. Hag would be a very distant third to those two.

You may be surprised by Trapper but if you know how to use him he's actually a very good, very dangerous killer. I'm in red ranks and I've come across quite a few really good trappers and the paranoia about where you step is very high which makes games very difficult. You can't just run to all the good loops and start looping them because if he's a good trapper he'll have that place rigged.

This is just my opinion and from my experience playing the game on PS4. Worst killers would be Clown, Wraith and Legion. Better bring a mori to a red rank game if you play one of those killers otherwise good luck getting a 4k. Well that or play at lery's. Every killer has a chance at lery's.

  • Moris are useful for teabaggers and flashlight spammers.

  • I play solo and most of the time I get pretty cool teammates who try to help the best they can but on rare occasion I'll get a douchebag moron who will play selfishly and even purposely try to get me killed. One time I got a teammate who blocked the exit gate panel until the killer came and then let me die. Afterwards he sent me a message saying "that's what you get for not saving me."

Apparently he got mad when I didn't go for the save because I was working on a gen and he had been hanged more than 50 meters away from me and so I let another teammate go for the save which they did. The guy was so dumb I didn't even bother replying back. I'm not going to give up a gen to go save you if you're that far away and we have two other teammates who can go for the save. We made it to the end obviously so why he was that salty I don't understand. But like I said, you get morons.

  • Rainbow maps are the ultimate anti-noed and overall anti-hex item. Not a perk but still if you want to make sure all the totems get cleansed a rainbow map with a crystal bead add-on (so all the other survivors can see the totems as well) will certainly do the trick.

  • NOED is necessary for any m1 killer. If you are playing spirit or billy probably not necessary unless you are just starting to learn to play with them. But Spirit and Billy can create enough map pressure that it is easy to win games without NOED and filling that slot with a different perk will probably help you more.

But any m1 killer and often times your best will just not be good enough as it will be too easy for survivors to rush gens, so NOED gives you a fair chance.

  • Maybe you're just unlucky. I don't get many rage quits from killers, even when they do poorly.

  • Does this list include no add ons? Clown is a very weak killer but if you have the add on that causes the exposed status effect he can down people fast. Myers is also weak but with the infinite tier 3 addon he becomes a lot stronger, way stronger than ghost face imo. A nurse with no addons isn't as strong as spirit without addons imo. It's not that hard to juke a nurse with only one or two blinks. But a five blink nurse... yeah good luck with that.

  • "Genrushing" is usually the result of a killer tunneling one survivor which is the main reason why tunneling isn't a good strategy. You want to put pressure on all survivors, not just one. So if you are just following one survivor around the map you're going to have three survivors doing gens and getting them done fast.

But this is also why m1 killers are terrible because not only are you easy to loop but it's hard to put pressure on all the survivors. You pretty much have to give up chases quickly or hope you can down survivors really fast in order to be effective. This is why some people say that only nurse and spirit are viable killers since they can end chases quickly and travel quickly around the map putting pressure on all the survivors.

  • @avilmask said:

Hm, actually scratched mirror on Lerry's could do the trick. You don't really need anything except his add-ons for this to work. Just don't be too overzealous with grabs and surprise attacks. Survs really get discouraged fast with that.

This. Scratched Mirror at Lerry's and you'll get merciless killer easily regardless of which perks you use. Although I'd do it at a lower rank. If you get really optimal survivors they could give you some trouble. But even if you don't get it the first time it really shouldn't take more than a couple tries. Scratched mirror at lerry's is really strong. It's easy to surprise attack survivors on that map. PWYF will make it even easier with the speed boost and I would pair the mirror with Boyfriends memo to make the lunge slightly better.

  • I find they only really expect it when you are playing Freddy. Blood Warden with any other killer I usually don't have a problem activating it because it's pretty rare for another killer to have that perk and so majority of survivors won't even think you have it.

Blood Warden is a decent perk. Not great but decent. Not really worthy of a buff since there are a handful of other killer perks that are just trash tier. (like who the hell uses monsterous shrine?)

  • Next killer needs to have another totem perk similar to haunted grounds except with a different side effect. A perk that when the survivor cleanses the hex totem their auras get exposed to the killer for the remainder of the trial. Now that would be a nice perk and it would make survivors really hesitate to cleanse a hex totem.

  • To be honest I'd rather play against any m1 killer with an ebony mori then to play against a spirit.

  • Least favorite to play against: spirit.

Favorite to play against: Any killer who is not spirit.

Yep him legion, wraith and leatherface. If you play these killers expect to get dunked on the entire round.

Pretty much the only killers that can overcome optimal survivors is spirit and nurse and that's only if the person playing them is skilled enough.

Huntress gets an honorable mention since she can technically hit optimal survivors with her hatches but that's only if the person is extremely good at throwing them which is rare and takes about 3000 hours of playing with her.

Hillbilly would be the 4th best but even he can get dunked on if the survivors know how to loop at an optimal level.

It simply doesn't matter how good you are with any other killer. A group of optimal survivors will win against an optimal m1 killer every time.

  • I never quit. Give me my blood points. I don't care if it's only a few thousand. I want them.

In my opinion though there are legitimate reasons for quitting.

    Legitimate reasons:

    1. Something came up that needed to be done in your real life and you had to quit the game (emergency, unexpected visit, game going longer than expected and need to be somewhere.)
    2. Game too laggy makes it unplayable.
    3. Power goes out (not really quitting but can't be helped for leaving the game)

    Crybaby reasons for quitting:

    1. Killer downed you too fast
    2. survivor looped you too well
    3. Didn't like an item or offering a survivor/killer brought to the game

Spine chill, it is one of he most versatile avoidance/info gathering perk in the game imo

Spine chill would be my second or third (I really like Bond too.) DS my first. DS works against all killers, same with bond. Spine chill is worthless in the rare instance you play against scratched mirror myers and pretty worthless against Spirit since by the time you see the thing go off she's already there and you cant tell where she is coming from.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate playing against Spirit?

  • I agee. Too many survivors use self-care. Just use bond. You can find other players who will be happy to heal you easily. And they do it faster. Self-care is only good if you are the last player alive with one other survivor on the hook and it's the end game and you can heal yourself before going for the save. But mostly it's just a waste of time.

I use bond and I see too many players self-caring when they don't need to. It's especially annoying when we have one more gen left and it's not being done because too many survivors are busy self-caring.

  • Tunneling will cause the killer to focus on one survivor while the remaining three survivors are free to work on gens. That's not a good strategy. If you are tunneling someone it only works if you can get them out super quick and if the remaining three survivors are not working on gens the entire time. The best strategy is to create pressure on all the survivors as much as possible. You don't want any survivor to feel safe for long. One reason why Spirit is such a strong killer is because she can create that type of pressure very well since she can be anywhere fast. As survivor you never really feel like you're in the clear against spirit.
