You learn? You mean you just take it and continue the chase. There is no countering it, there is no outplaying it, there is no way to protect yourself from it, there is no way to mindgame it out, there is no way to play around it. It's an extra hit. Not taking sides on whether or not it was good and I personally won't say whether I hated or loved it. I just wanted to point out you are wrong. There is nothing to learn with MoM. Well, unless you equip moris for ashes which i always do cause he's so ugly
The only things I that really """counter""" MoM is Legion and Huntress. Problem is, Huntress takes time to be consistant woth and Legion is mediocre at best.
Other than those two, MoM has VERY little counter play outside Exposed status.

I know her footsteps can be heard, but I think Freddy moves the grass

I would say 40-60 seconds is well enough time to run somewhere, heal up, and figure out your next coarse of action if the killer comes back. Thankfully the perk stays if the timer runs out.

Looping is a stupid mechanism, it sounds like a Benny Hill Show episode.
Try using Benny Hill music in a Dbd clip and you'll see the absurdity of the chase.
The game would need a completely different mechanic, one where survivors are faster than killers but do suffer from stamina draining, that would make the game so much better.
I just finished a game where I run around bubba the whole match despite ruin being still up, it wasn't fun for the killer at all. Ofc from my perspective what could I do? I tried losing him but didn't work
Funnily enough, last night I was playing survivor and ran into hmmmm three consecutive Billy's (two were probably the SAME Billy, I'm not sure).
Anyway, I was in a game where Me, a Jane, and another Jeff were just plowing through gens while the David got chased. Billy lost him and came over to us. I went through the Wreched Shop and did that loop for a while (he also respected the ######### out of the pallet) and eventually I had nothing for quite a distance and he was revving behind me. So I just circle a rock. He didn't stop revving, so I was able to keep circling. He did this for an entire gen... The LAST gen.
When it popped, he DC'd.

It’s not great but I don’t think the killer one is that different, I have screenshots of when I first started killer (approx 1 year ago), rank 18 doc with 2-3 perks (tier 1, lv 10-15doc) and got rank 1-2 and rank 12s. It’s been a problem for a while, new MM and ranking seems to make this seem like a big recent thing. Even a one-two months ago I’d get rank 2s with purple-green ranks as a rank 12 killer.
As a survivor mine hasn’t been too bad, rank 12 post reset recently and getting rank 10-13 killers. The only bad one I have recent memory is being a rank 13 reset killer and playing spirit for the first time and I got rank 18s with no perks who had the knowledge of one who just started playing, that’s unfair and shouldn’t be happening. I think it’s just the price of ping and wait times and the devs are still trying to figure it out. It is complicated in the games current state to balance skill, wait time, ping, geographic range etc.
Rank isn’t even an indicator of skill anyway, it’s time played in the season and I’ve seen purple rank potatoes and yellow rank survivors that can loop, do gens at the speed of sound and have amazing map awareness.
Very true, I was killer rank 11 before the reset and got set to rank 15. Didn't take me long to get to 13, and I can only presume the rank 6's I went against would be red ranks.
Also, it's not rare for my Survivor games to be all kinds of f-ed up when it comes to matchmaking.
-
Don't forget matching you with survivors 7 ranks higher than you.

You ALWAYS run aftercare? Jw.
I normally only play Jeff when playing Survivor, and I run Aftercare A LOT.
Helps a lot really, I highly recommend.

@GrootDude said:
@StarMoral the point is that you can’t just say run X perk just Incase Y happens.
Which is why everyone is tellin OP to "git gud"
Lol but really, I do agree. I've stopped running Enduring/Spirit Fury (even to my own detriment) because so wanted to learn how to NOT live with them. While I know infinites and safe loops exist, they don't if I break the pallet.
Now to relate this with going against Spirit, I listen for the hum of her phasing and only run when I need to. If they're running Prayer beads, I make sure to keep an eye on the movement of the killer via my team (I run Aftercare and pay special attention to where/when a person is downed.) and again, run only when I have to.
Is it hard? Absolutely.
Do I think I'm going to win? Likely no, but I'll damn near try.
Do I accept the challenge? Yes, because that's the point of a game.

"Just because there was a correlation does not mean it was causation."
Actually, usually, that's exactly what it means.
No, Correlation does not equal Causation.

I mean, largely I think spirit is fine. Except for prayer beads. That's bullshit.
But your statement..let me show you how stupid that sounds:
"Just because killers couldn't handle infinites does mean they should be nerfed" (as the other guy said, and they were nerfed)
"Just because killers couldn't handle pallet loops doesn't mean they should be nerfed" (they are getting nerfed)
"Just because killers couldn't handle self care, exhaustion perks etc etc etc doesn't mean they should be nerfed"
Those all sound equally as stupid as your original statement. Killers cry for nerfs more than anyone; and when things get nerfed, they want it nerfed even more.
I think @PoisonN statement derives from the fact Spirit is well known as a very well balanced killer.
Things such as infinites and extremely safe pallet loops (the type of loops that are going to be changed), are not. They're a product of poor map design that's been patched with Enduring/Spirit Fury for a long while now.
Using perks to counter the map instead of the opponent is poor design and is in need of changing.
-
If you're healthy, an exit camping killer shouldn't be an issue unless they have NoED, in which case you should have cleansed totems.
Crows screech when the killer passes them too, and unless you can't think of a solution in three minutes, the entity shouldn't even come close to stabbing anybody.
And the answer to that question is never, at least intentionally. The game was built around the survivors not being able to communicate (to give a more isolated, dreary feel to the game). That's why SWF is such an issue right now, because they are abke to communicate in a game where they're not meant to communicate.
-
God forbid you have a challenge against one of the most well balanced killers in the game.
If this was about Prayer Beads, then a discussion could be had.
Spirit as a whole? You can just, how the gaymers say it, git gud.
-
Just use a map

A reminder that Legion is about on the same tier as spirit CURRENTLY when played well, and the rework didnt occur because of whining, it occured because legion was being abused in an unintentional way.
As someone who plays basically nothing BUT Legion, I would love to see the day where Legion and Spirit are remotely close to each other.

Thats cause the thing that made legion annoying to play against wasn't fixed.
Counterplay with missed attacks? Fixed.
Frank's Mix Tape spam? Fixed, alongside not being able to lower the mending at all without, you guessed it, "Frank's Mix Tape"!
Endless Mending Bug? Fixed.
Moonwalking? Fixed, and added an indirect buff to Borrowed Time
Hell, Legion can't even SEE the mending bar go down anymore.
So please, tell me what Legion's TRUE problem was.
-
Survivors have nothing BUT the gens to do. So while it's annoying, gen rush is understandable.
-
So far, I've only ran blood point farming builds and not really cared what happened during the match. As long as I got 4 stacks of BBQ, I was fine and dandy even when several survivors escaped.
In other words, I'm too busy grinding to notice their behavior.

How dare somebody try to help their fellow players by awarding free blood points.
-
Both sides can be toxic, but survivors tend to have the upper hand on toxicity since they have the tools to make up for any poor decisions they may make.
SWF, certain perks (stacked with one another), purple flashlights (i must stress purple because the other flashlights aren't too good wothout crazy add-ons), hell even suiciding and DCing if they just wanna say screw you to the killer.
And let's be honest for a sec, a lot of killer's toxicity stems from the survivor's toxicity. "Why is he facecamping me?" Well there's three options.
He's ensuring a last minute kill,
the rest of your team is buzzing around the hook like flies to rotten meat,
or maybe because you teabagged at every pallet.
-
Stop doing gens and do some totems. I know I give props to teams who actually chew through my NOED.
-
I would have to say Adrenaline wpuld need a nerf then too. A free health state and a speed boost is quite a game changer. I know I run Noed because Adrenaline is so popular.
-
I thouvht Lightweight reduced the sound of footsteps when I first started playing, why not add that to the current effects?
-
Pig and Legion.
Silently stab everyone over and over again
-
I can't really say much along the lines of "OMG I do fine with him! Just don't miss Frenzy!" because I'm on PC and not Console.
The thing with me when it comes to missing Frenzy... Is that it's likely MY fault if I miss, and I accept a cooldown for my bad play or if I got outplayed.
However, I do think a full depletion and stun is a little much. I would say adjust the stun for how much Frenzy meter you used and start refilling the meter from where you left off after the stun.
Also reduce his TR back to 24 but be 32 in Frenzy.
-
Unless they have plans to make a character named "The Ghost", I think they should scrap "The Ghost Face" and go with the simpler of the two.
-
Fair, but very scummy.
-
I like that they added the KI if detected. That way you can stealth across the map and still find somebody if they spot you.
-
I had a game as Legion where it was a clear sfw (by their names) on Ormand. I found two of them pretty quick and proceeded to Frenzy everyone with Sloppy. After they realized I had sloppy on Legion, they yeeted out.

Iron Maiden (3)
Open lockers 50% Faster
Survivors leaving lockers have their aura revealed for 5 seconds and suffer from the Exposed status for 60 status. (Exposed Status will not show until hit, similar to NOED.)
Iron Maiden will no longer make survivors yell, but rather give a "Premonition/Territorial Imperative" like alert.
-
Agreed, but that's probably WHY people complain.
Passion, I guess... Or self entitleme- You know what nevermind.
-
Look more like Seagulls to me
-
Honestly yeah. That's really the only way to counter it right now. (Unless the player is potato, then just get with it and stab them dowm again) I usually stick by them in case they have Unbreakable too.
I stick to me word, DS is an Anti-Tunnel perk only for the unaware killer. It's a Slugging perk if the killer knows.

BMing is part of every pvp game. It's actually good that it's exists (to a certain extend) because it's challenging you mentally and can be seen as part of a tactic: getting your opponent tilted will lead to more mistakes of him and you can take advantage of that.
That's not really an excuse to CONTINUE BMing.
Let's be honest, those who BM knows they are being toxic and want to be toxic. They aren't smart enough to realize the "mindgame" that could happen. They just do what they think is fun and DC when they get downed or chased for 7 gens.
-
With the right add-ons, survivor spacing, or perks in general, Legion's stun can be justified. He can do a lot of damage with one usage, stalling the game dramatically. Hell, if you can't reach certain players and have a button add-on, you can add even more effects to a survivor.
I agree it's long, and might need to adjust how DARK it gets, but I personally think the cooldown is justifed.
I just hope they get that vaulting animation done soon, because this one really is sluggish looking.

The difference is that unless it's specifically Jeff's, you can't really be sure. They could just as easily run 4 others with Breakdown for the same effect. Franklin's at least has more consistent useage
All I know is that I don't think Breakdown wiill really be game breaking since there would be a hook close by.
-
@ClogWench said:
Hangman's is hardly a counter argument because no one's gonna run it regardless. It's use is worthless unless survivors play a specific way.
I see it as the "Franklin's" shtick.
Don't like the survivors' items? Run Franklin's.
Don't like all the Jeffs with toolboxes? Run Hangman's.
It's all very niche, but that's the point.
-
Basic M1 setup, but with Nurse's instead of Ruin and I be as agro as possible.

@Clockso said:
breakdown is pointless af, the only reason why i sometimes bring it cuz it's kinda badass when i get saved then the hook breaks
It really is one of those perks that I'd use a hell of a lot more if it DID more.

With Survivor: Ecaping or doing my absolute best.
With Killer: Basically just completeiing the objective I have in mind. In other words, if I want someone dead, that's all I need to be sated.
-
Breakdown breaks hook when being saved AND when saving.
-
Survivor perspective: Omg he's camping me.
Killer perspective: Holy #########, all the survivors are here. WHY???

Let's go into how the clearly killed legion. All that needed to be done was to remove moonwalking... The end. If a killer commits to killing you, you will go down... Regardless. You can't loop forever. This is what happened.
Oh you want to use FMT & SWS to be a threat? Nah dawg, we nerfing y'all. FMT requires 4 or so hits + stuns to down. Git gud!
Oh you want to Chase and deactivate frenzy to M1? Oh no playa, we adding a stun, that's long as hell, alongside darkening the screen. How ya like dat?
Oh you wanna Deep Wound then back off and come back? We can't have dat dawg. DW doesn't decrease in terror radius and ya can't see DW progress. Fasho ya loving dat!
Oh you wanna stack cool down add on to still try to frenzy chase then m1? Nizzerf!
Oh and we also nerfed vaults to hell. Good luck chasing through the loop dawg, but we did do ua justice. We made frenzy SLOWER, but last longer. Be careful tho, if you miss an attack in frenzy, ya lose the entire bar.
"HOW YA LIKE MEH NAO!!!!! BYTCHES!!!!" -BHVR
"Clearly killed Legion"
Lol somebody used FMT way to often.

Why does the survivor need to know where the killer is just because they got a safe unhook? We're gonna live forever doesn't need anything added to it. You take to get rewarded for bolder play. It isn't meant to be the survivor equivalent of BBQ. If you want BBQ come play killer where it makes sense to have that sort of aura reading.
Tell me any other Bloodpoint enhancing perk that does not have a secondary effect.
-
@Maelstrom10 said:
more bloodpoint gain....
bring back the 200%!!!!
oh and maybe a killer aura reveal for the unhooked survivor. doesn't need to be for the altruistic one, the incentive is the bloodpoints, the aura would help the unhooked to not be tunneled
The aura sounds great, but would make Brakdown half useless.
Basically a sabo at the cost of a hook state lol
-
Nurse having an extremely high skill cieling is a big reason why she's so popular.
It's almost like she's one of three killers that can actually go against high skilled survivors.
-
Using what we have now, I'd say BBQ and Thrilling Tremors might help a bit. Sadly not all killers can have the same pressure as a Spirit or a Trapper if you really stretch it.
-
Yes he can track you im lockers with Killer Instinct
Injured survivors just put the Deep Wound effect applied.
