Are we still getting upset by t-bagging? Literally the only community to do so.
'Upset' is a strong word.
'Annoyed' is more like it, especially in the exit gates.
It's the equivalent of refusing to shake your opponent's hand after the match, and instead giving them the finger. Yes, humans tend to be annoyed when other humans act like massive butts.

In the title.
Ive had sandbagging Megs all day, but this last game just made it a permanent trait for me. Hate. All. Megs.
I've had megs get rescued only to IMMEDIATELY sandbag me when the killer shows up. Had megs working with the killer. had megs flame me for not carrying X perk. had megs blow gens either on purpose or just being extremely poor at the game. had megs fast vault when im trying to stealth near them. like... list goes on.
So if I see you in any future games, and you're a Meg, I'm sorry, but I literally can't trust any of you. I record all my games. And all of the most painful teammates I've had today were Megs. I didn't wanna believe the stereotype, I ignored it for so long. But Megs--you're on your own.
And Leons.
Weird. I never see it on Megs.
Claudettes, Ash's or Aces tend to be the ones to watch out for. Or Dwights in their stupid costumes.

Imho that limits build freedom too much. I want perk combos to be mixed and matched, I want synergy, I want really fun interactions that you didn't think about. I want new, strong, good perks made and released. I want build freedom. I don't want things getting too out of hand.
Hence, just simple choice restrictions. If one combo is being too much of a problem slap on a choice restriction. You can still make good perks, perks which are strong by themselves, and now there's not much of a worry about breaking things because it can't be used with the other very good perks.
I like choice restrictions more than points-based systems or categorised systems because choice restriction preserves build independence. If that makes sense?
Mm. It's an interesting idea, but yeah - not sure how it would look in reality.
Can you give some examples of perks that should be mutually exclusive?

- This is already in the game but only for account level, but your first game of the day that results in a win (Or by my standards, escaping through the gate or hatch as survivor of killing atleast 2 survivors) will double that games BP gain, basically 2x BP for winning for the first time that day
- Make a casual mode and a ranked mode, with Casual's MMR being based on grade while Ranked is a seperate MMR system, with it going from bronze to grandmaster, with each rank giving you either BP or irishards, while hitting gold and above gives you a skin themed to it if you stay in that rank by the end of the season, while grandmaster gives you a sort of "evolved" version of the skin thats even better than the gold one
- Remove breakable walls and change maps to work without them, they cause major problems with balance and shouldn't even be in the game
- Completely rework RPD and have variants that remove certain rooms
- FoV slider, helps with people who can get motion sickness and just makes you feel good, while changing shadow born to something different (imo making it into a perk that makes the map brighter for you would be cool but thats changing brightness)
Regarding 2....I don't think it would work.
This has been tried in other games, and it tends to just result in longer queues for both and worse, ranked players smurfing down their unranked MMR to annihilate newbies while still getting their rewards.
The last time I saw this done was Starcraft 2, and it was a disaster. There were somehow more smurfs in Unranked...honestly, this is probably the thing that killed the game outside of KR.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
Change 1) CPU optimisations. Apparently, these are the problem with the poor optimisation, especially on last-gen consoles. So, I'd make it better. ✨
2) Solo queue now has plenty of aura perks baked into basekit. These perks are reworked to either further buff these basekit effects (ie. Kindred shows the killer aura when near a hook, survivor aura is basekit) or are given entirely new effects (Empathy now increases action speed when a survivor is injured for a short duration). Killer mechanics, such as totem spawns, gen speeds, gate spawns, etc. are rebalanced accordingly.
3) Breakable walls are removed and affected areas rebalanced to account for this.
4) Rebalance the Bloodpoints system, including removing the cap, removing the category cap and instead adding a match cap of 60k, increasing in-match gains, and lowering the cost of the Bloodweb.
5) The most important change; Choice Restrictions are added to the game. Certain perks, powers, items, and Add-ons cannot be used together to create potentially problematic and often unfair scenarios.
Regarding 5...I was thinking about this a bit back.
Something like a 'points' system, where each perk is assigned a number of points based on it's power, and you can only have so high of a point value equipped at any one time.

Okay so. What is your favorit perk on both sides and why? I'll start.
Balanced Landing. I like this mostly because of the stagger rediction, the speedboost is a bonus. And the fact that this perk is a bit of a gamble, it makes it more fun to use because I love taking risks
BBQ. It tells me where to go and Bloodpoints xd
For survivor? It's a tossup between Windows of Opportunity and Kindred.
For killer? Taking BBQ out of the equation (that BP bonus needs to be baseline), I'd probably say Surge (it's just so satisfying to land) or Discordance.
@Mandy said:
Lethal Pursuer is currently my favourite killer perk
It's a toss up between Head On & Deception for my survivor build - been having a lot of fun with these two recently.
I used to run LP a lot, but I've replaced it with Discordance - gives similar benefits at the start, but works for the entire match.

My guess would be a short Anniversary focused chapter starting with the event, much like Halloween last year - and then a proper tome sometime after that.

Thankyou!
Obviously these are big issues in the game, especially as solos but we should look at the issues and try and fix them directly.
For example DC, match quitters together and make bans harsher (or increase more dramatically)
DCs? Absolutely. Other games have done a 'leaver's queue', where you'll need to win 'x' games before getting back into the regular queue if you DC more than usual.

so you are telling me the side that has 4x as many by numbers does it more. Who would have thought!
Not gross.
Proportionally.
Even taking into account the numbers, the survivor side is much more likely to be BM. While my sample size isn't enormous, I'm currently noting this down in games I'm in (which already eliminates one survivor) and the trend is pretty damn clear.
27 games out of 172 have had a killer doing something 'toxic' unprovoked.
94 out of 112 winning games have had survivors doing something toxic unprovoked. This would probably be more if I wasn't taking up a slot.

How does making perks basekit or providing more info to survivors stop
- DC/Giving up on hook
- Farming tome challenges

? This post is linked to another one but people seem to be getting confused, so someone explain in detail how this works? I generally want a discussion....
It doesn't.
Trolls gonna troll, newbies gonna newb.
That's the drawback of playing the 'team' role - if you have a weak link, it's tough.

Before anyone says anything I'm not on about my escape rate, I understand that's not common for everyone.
However if we exclude:
- - DC/Rage Quits
- - Survivors giving up on hook
- - Survivors farming challenges
- - Survivors walking round/hiding around the edge of the map.
What is there actually left to complain about? If you really believe you need to be in communication to play well solo Q isnt the issue... it's you. I'd go as far as saying you're being abit entitled and expecting easy escapes.
Now, without a doubt the things listed definitely happen in solo Q and they're definitely issues HOWEVER, these are player issues not because of 0 communication.
No matter the buffs you give solo Q those issues will still occur, whether its people farming challenges, giving up or just straight up not playing... all buffing solos will do in worsen the balance.
While I do believe survivors should be able to see each others perks in the lobby I dont believe they need extra things built in or added as base.
The issues at hand should be fixed, while they arent all easy fixes we can easily do harsher bans and match quitters with quitters. As for those that arent trying to progress the game have a system to track and penalise them, maybe an AFK kick system would help too.
The issue isn't that you need communication to play well in solos.
The issue is that communication is extremely powerful in this game, and having/not having it has an enormous statistical effect on escape rate. This creates an impossible balance situation, where either solos or killers end up getting a boot to the gonads.
Giving solos some rudimentary communication tools or at least the status icons shown a bit back should help to close this gap slightly, making killers a bit easier to balance.

I think you might enjoy reading this post from the ancient times before I joined DBD.

Yeah I've seen that one before - also a psychologist by study if not by career :)

So, I´ve been playing for some time already, around 200 hours, and i´ve got to say that i had enough, i´m struggling with anxiety and depression, i´m taking antidepressants and going to therapy, and whenever i decide to jump in the game and have some fun playing as killer it´s always the same, i play a few games, some tryhard toxic swfs play their game and have fun being horrible persons towards the killers and it´s not easy honestly, they don´t care about the game at all, they just want to use the killer as their toy and have a few laughs making other players miserable and it´s not something that i think i can take anymore, i think BHVR should balance a lot of things and probably increase the punishment on toxic people, i would love for a queue without SWF, like a ranked, casual mode where the survs aren´t all a bully party, i thin it would make the game something quite more enjoyable to everyone, to the solo q survs that get insulted by their teammates and the killers, in the end we are all here to have fun and it´s sad to see such a good game like DBD feeling so miserable to play because of people like that, i´ll take a few weeks to help my mental health but as i said, this can´t keep going on for much longer, just check other discussions in the forums and you´ll see that im not alone in this.
Mm.
There was a time when it used to get to me too. But somewhere around the 600 hour mark, I sort of became numb to it and now I just shake my head and move onto the next game.
Unfortunately the devs have been pretty clear. They consider 'smack talk' not only to be inevitable, but to be an essential part of online gaming and won't do anything unless it rises to the level of serious hatespeech or threats (and even then, temp bans).
I happen to disagree with this stance and think that it's only setting the stage for misery - but it's not my game.

Or how many times a killer hits a hooked survivor, or left survivors to bleed out the entire four minutes of the dying state just because… or does that not fit your narrative?
Also, don’t be playing this game given your self-described conditions above. Like, at all, either role. Please, for your own sake.
I'm actually keeping track of this myself for my current experiment. One month as a survivor main versus one month as a killer main.
Thus far as a survivor main, I've had a 'toxic' killer in maybe 26 games in my last 170, and that's counting anything that could be construed as toxic (hitting on hook, bleeding out etc). On the other hand, I don't think I've seen a single winning game where another survivor doesn't hang around in the gates to teabag and gloat.
Not one.

No, it is not the role. It is the people playing the role. I am not a toxic survivor, because why would I be? Now, do not get me wrong, many would argue I am a toxic killer merely because I play the game optimally, but even if that were true, then surely it would translate to my survivor play? And yet it does not. No magic barrier turns me into a degenerate once I select that role.
Naturally. 'Survivors are proportionally more likely to be BM' =/= 'all survivors are BM'.
It's a role that tends to make people a bit toxic because for a lot of the game, you're lulled into a false sense of security - and then everything goes wrong.

What's even scarier is that there's a limit to the status effects that can be shown on-screen, so there might have been even more that the cheater was taking advantage of (I don't know if that's the maximum or not -- content creator Pebsie did a video on it -- but no Prove Thyself might mean that even more things were in play as well).
It's sad that people who weren't actually cheating had no problem with it. Their tune would likely be different if they were going against a killer with perm-wall hacks, for example.
Kudos to you for eating the hook and reporting the cheater in question.
Mm.
This made me rethink some of the recent bizarro games I've had as killer - where survivors weren't overtly cheating, but always seemed to know exactly where I was, healed insanely fast and seemed to have more perks than they should have. I'll certainly be going over postgame lobbies more closely.
Urgh, that sort of killed my desire to play more today. At least I finally made it to Iri on survivor, next month I should be able to Iri 1 both.

I think it’s on par with Ruin. Ruin is stronger because it’s less vulnerable to tapping gens to stabilize them, but it also is a hex so is usually destroyed after a couple of minutes. Brine can be negated by a tap but if a survivor isn’t in a position to do that it works just as well as Ruin on that gen plus gives tracking info when someone works on it as a bonus and since it’s not a hex is guaranteed to work.
So the two have pros and cons relative to each other.
@Aurelle said:
I like using it on anti-gen builds. It's better than Ruin, imo.
Eh.
It's a bit like this. Ruin, PR, CoB and Pop exist on a pair of axis, called 'power' and 'reliability'.
Ruin is the most powerful, but the least reliable. It can vanish within seconds or win you the match.
CoB would probably be the most reliable and least powerful of these. I do really like it on some killers though, especially combined with Pentimento.

Ive had an alarmingly HIGH amount of games today where the survivor on our team is teaming up with the killer. Revealing our locations, sandbagging us in chase, setting off sound notifications with fast vaults--etc. 100% of the time, it's been with a Ghostface.
Is this some new meme? Where whenever there's a GF they will just team up with a survivor on the team since the original ghost face was actually two people?
Honestly, though, REALLY starting to piss me off. I'm busting my butt out here trying to do saves, get totems, heal my teammates--and then some Laurie/Meg comes along and just STARES/points at me and I'm like "tf are they doing---OH THERES GHOST FACE" And weirdly enough.... there's always a DC/Afk player as well. So its legit me and one other survivor breaking our BACKS trying to play this game.
And the fact that reporting does absolutely NOTHING is infuriating. I've had like 4 games today out of an entire day of gaming. Now 4 games may not seem like a TON, but thats a 400% increase from me almost NEVER seeing back stabbing survivors, and Ghostfaces happily going along with this cheating. And yes, to me, this is CHEATING. ((They're manipulating the game so others lose, and they are guaranteed to win.))
Ghostface mains are already booming right now with the impending update, but it seems all these baby Ghosties can't play killer on their own, they need a spy to actually help them get kills.
As a Legion main when I do play killer, this is as close to Legion gameplay I think we're ever gonna get with "Darkness Among Us", having rat survivors sell the rest of us out. Ew.
Yeah it happens sometimes, but I've only seen it a few times recently.
Technically, it's reportable, but you'll need video evidence, a lengthy report process, Fog Whisperer status and a signed affidavit from twenty witnesses. Yes, I'm kidding about the latter two...but it's still silly.
Oh, and those Ghostface mains are going to probably dry up once they realize that, unless you run very fancy addons, the Ghostface 'rework' comes out to a hefty nerf.

I love that the grades are hidden! It was really tiring seeing the, "I'm an ash 4 being matched with red ranks, how is this fair matchmaking?" posts. If they stay hidden like this, it'll prevent any future confusion and maybe people will focus more on the game / match than the grades.
At first when the ranks were hidden during the last tests before sbmm went live, I didn't like it was hidden but this time around it's just been so nice. I could care less about someone's grades and just focus on the match and my mistakes without my inbox being harassed about my grade being relevant to my skill.
It's not always completely misleading, but it's heavily tied to day of the month.
If I start on day one, I'll usually be Iri 1 in 7-10 days.
If I'm still Silver IV and find myself against a full Iri 1 squad on day 3, something's probably gone terribly wrong.

Here is a quick question for someone who has played more than me, since I never see her. And if I did play her it would be hard to gauge which is better.
Everyone says the best addon is the newspaper since it helps her directly in chase, but what is the best other addon to combo it with? I think it's down to Well Water or Mothers Mirror.
I think with Well Water she would be doing the flickering with no red stain still? Or just go with the extra 2 seconds of flickering?
I don't think it's bloody fingernails since people with headphones can hear the projection and just turn around even if you are using it to cut them off.
Newspaper and Iri tape.
The rest are all pretty mediocre.
The one that makes people start with a tape can be useful, but less than you'd expect and it really depends on spawn and TV RNG.

What did I just read?
I have a lot of fun with this game still. Yes, it can be very frustrating at times, but for the most part - if I approach it with the right mindset - I enjoy my time on killer and survivor.
I think that a lot of people have rose-tinted goggles regarding how this game was back then. A good example: basically every map had 3 or 4 spots where survivors could go down/crawl and be impossible to be picked up. And that's before we got into stuff like old OoO, old DS etc.
I started somewhere in the middle of 2020, and this game was bleh. I came back just under a year ago (right after SBMM launched) and have had a blast since.

Since I don’t have the luxury of trying every build option right now and experimenting, was hoping someone could just recommend a build.
Focal point being Artist perk Hex: Pentimento.
Idea is to get Survivors to do Bones.
I’m not overly concerned about winning or achieving the 5 Hex:Totems at once. Just consider this my meme build for trying to achieve 10 totem cleanses in a regular no farm lobby.
My Killer heart just loves when Survivors do the secondary objective.
Assuming I understood Penti correctly. If a totem is destroyed (be they Hex or not), I can see them and Rebuild+Hex them, and then survivors need to do them again? I realize after second time it’s destroyed for good.
Do survivors still take like 16 seconds on second time breaking bones or is it like a boon and they just snuff it out?
Hmm.
I love Penti, but it has two huge holes.
The first is that you need to physically go and set it up, which can waste time. For this reason, I generally only use penti on killers with high sustained mobility, like Wraith and Demo.
The second is that you need to create the dead totems (Plaything is a classic way of doing this) and hope that you aren't facing one or more boons.
I still use it a fair bit. Paired with Pain Resonance on slower killers and CoB on faster ones. It's a hugely underused perk.

How would I know if any streaming services allow cheating? I just asked you that question and you answered back with essentially the same question. Why would I ask you if I knew? If I don't know how they work, why would I know how others work? That's a perfect example of why answering a question with a question is considered rude.
And you were all defensive about the whole thing. I didn't know they hid their names, I assumed you could report the channel they're streaming on and that would stop them. Accusing me of "acting like it's so easy" is a very strange form of politeness. I don't feel I was acting like anything. Maybe I'm super-sensitive and you have great people skills.
But also I don't care. If you don't want to answer, don't. That's probably what I'll do if you try to continue this conversation.

Point one is why depipping needs to go. It's bad enough being punished by the game after some SWF spends five minutes clicking at you in a bad match, it's even worse getting stuck at a grade for game after game because your team decides unhooks don't matter.
I don't mind depipping, but what I do mind is how survivor grades seem to be weighted - heavily in favor of hiding and sitting on gens, not so much being chased.
Unhooking...argh, yes. I'm at the point where I really hope someone else unhooks - I'll still get points, but I won't get penalized if the killer is tunneling.
Both killer and survivor grading is busted - killers in terms of how unfair it is to Artist, Myers, Ghosty and co and survivors in terms of how easy it is to depip while doing almost everything right.

As a console player, it's honestlytoo much of a hassle to consistently file reports. Dbd is unplayable while the game clip uploads to xbox live. No thanks.
I'm not entirely sure. Didn't actually twig onto what was happening until midgame. Initially I saw Open Handed and a few other buffs and went 'oh, that's a fun build!'. The Bill put down a boon very fast at the start but I didn't think anything of it.
I was sure it was a Mirror Myers (small terror radius, no T3) and so I ran to the boon once chased hoping that it would have a Shadowstep attached - then I saw a bazillion buffs and went 'oh'. Immediately called Myers over and got him to hook me.
Wasn't completely sure until postgame where I saw zero boon perks. Asked about it as if I had no idea, hoping that the Bill would say something incriminating/reportable, but instead I got called a snitch by the other survivors.

It's not quite relevant, but another one that stuck with me was a completely mystifying exchange that happened a few months ago, and I wish I'd screencapped it.

Surv 1: "reported".
Me: "Why?"
Surv 1: "you tunneled and camped me because"
Me: "Lol, no I didn't. I didn't even put traps near hooks until collapse"
Surv 1: "im using a pride charm"
Me: "What? No I didn't lol. You ran into a trap after you got unhooked"
Surv 1: "u wyt?"
Me: "What?"
Surv 1: "u white?"
Me: "Yeah. So?"
Surv 1: "u play hag alot?"

Doing this to a Mikey is a war crime.
Yeah, I've seen this twice so far in the past two days. The first one was completely overt - spamming firecrackers and stuff. This one though - yeah. I gave the killer his kill (despite the cheater and the rest of the survivors doing everything in their power to get me out) but he was on console (can they even report PC players? They certainly can't see postgame chat) and all 3 of the others were extremely cross when I even asked about the situation.
Just makes me wonder if half the reason it's hard to get rid of the cheaters is this 'well, it directly benefits me so I'm not saying jack' mindset.

spoiler alert: the only ones nearly as bad as this community are the fortnite community and the pubg community. Even then, people still dont take it as seriously as the DBD community takes this game
Fortnite isn't terrible, aside from the cavalcade of 11 year olds who think that n-bombs are the height of comedy.
Pubg...yeah.
However, none of these are even close to the CS:GO or EVE Online communities, or, if you want to go further back, the original DoTA or Halo communities.

I have only had bad games today. It's rough. The only game that may have been good was one when I was Pinhead, but 2 people dc'd and the third one sui'd on hook. I gave the last survivor hatch.
The rest of the games were nothing but 2-4 swf. Thank god most of them were not toxic about it, one match had a toxic Dwight in it - but that was whatever.
"Toxic Dwight" is redundant XD.
Also - yeah. I'm wondering how many of my 'okay, I just got my cheeks thoroughly clapped but I have absolutely no idea how' games looked like this from the perspective of the survivors. Going to be incredibly paranoid from now on I think.

I had a game where one specific survivor didn't play super well, and for whatever reason my brain said "well, that person played like a bag of lemons."
I don't have an explanation for why my brain did this.
Anyone else have an example?
I was on Pig, running Letter and Grease. Got sent to Eyrie by what was at least a 3man SWF.
Ended up winning quite convincingly.
Postgame:
Me: "Phew. GGWP all".
Surv 1: "shut up what do you mean ggwp"
Surv 2: "don't think ur good, this map sucks for survivor"
Surv 1: "and u have to use OP killer lul"
Me: "Yes, I admit that Pig on Eyrie is probably the most unfair situation imaginable. Hopefully you get an easier game next time, like Nurse on Midwich"

Yea it’s subtle most of the time. It’s another reason to avoid high MMR as killer.
This wasn't high MMR though. I'm an awful survivor.
What scares me about this is:
- There would have been no way for me to spot this as killer unless I was very observant, and even then it would have been suspicious but not confirmed.
- The only way to get this chap banned is for one of the other survivors to both be recording the game and be willing to report.
- From the rest of postgame, I wonder how many survivors just go 'oh hey, a free win - you keep doing what you're doing'.

So last night. I went up against an interesting team. I was playing Nurse trying to get better at her. Found a comp ready team who thought they were hot #########. I hooked one of their teammates and they decided to shark the h ook and spam Unhook right in front of me. I had managed to get my stuff together and 4ked all of them because of their greed. Then they pipped off yelling at me about camping and how unfun I was. They even said "we are supposed to have fun not killers" and I am just shaking my head. They called me a terrible nurse, and I'm just saying 'But you died though, and you can call me a camper but you were also camping the hook right in front of me. So that just negates what you just called me." This community can be so toxic sometimes. I don't know where all those kind gentle players are but please I need them too keep going on this game. I want to enjoy killer. But Boon totems and survivor toxicity makes it down right impossible to have fun as killer anymore.
Seldom is postgame ever worth reading. I only turn it on when I want to say something specific.
But yes - a lot of survivors view the killer as an object there for their entertainment, and if they end up dying it's going to be wall to wall salt.
Also - shark the hook?

Good luck against a good Demogorgon on that Map.
A good Portal spread means the Demogorgon will be able to go on every side of the Map quite easily.
Shred is bonkers. Hallways aren't wide enough to dodge it and the Shred hit-box means you'll get hit even if you hide behind a Locker
It's also a hilarious map for 'Sonargorgon' (Whistle+Sticky Lining) as well sited portals will basically tell you where everyone is at all times.

How was it used by SWF teams?
Basically, you had one person acting as lookout and calling the killer's position out at all times. It was basically permanent wallhacks for the entire team and using it, a good SWF always knew where you were and what you were doing and you'd barely ever even see them.

Again, it works with newer survivors - but it also requires a lot of lead-up and planning to make it work.
You're talking about the amazing meta perks of Pop and Pain, and - yes, the two have undeniable synergy and sit on the top of the killer meta right now.
Call Of Brine, however, does very little to fit within.
If a generator sits idle for, like, 8-12 seconds - you're lucky. Which translates to 4-6 seconds (~5%) of generator progress. With survivor time being a quarter as valuable as your own - that's like saving you (the killer) 1 second every time you kick a generator - maybe a little bit more.
At that point, you might as well take Eruption for better synergy, or Deadlock for better slowdown, Ruin for a more reliable start, or - hell - waste time doing other things. New healing meta will steal more than 5 seconds away from survivors here and there if you run Sloppy Butcher, lots more slowdown against healing. Save The Best For Last makes you more deadly as the match goes on, paired with the Pain-Pop combo it can be dizzying.
Even off-meta perk choices are better selections for this. Saving the killer 1-2 seconds every time they kick a generator can be quickly outclassed by Brutal Strength, which saves 0.6 seconds on a pallet break - which can add up over time. Kicking 5 pallets, walls, or GENERATORS will give you almost 3 seconds of time.
Kick a wall, kick 3 pallets in a chase, then hook and kick a generator? Brutal Strength already gave you more value than Call of Brine would have if you brought it.
That's where we are.
Call Of Brine is a more specific, less as generally useful perk as Brutal Strength.
There are few perks you wouldn't be better off taking if you're playing against coordinated survivors. Even niche ones like Coup De Grace have greater general and potential value.
I'd disagree.
It's not great on every killer, but running it on a high sustained mobility killer - especially Wraith with his faster kicking addons - it's rock solid. The idea isn't simply regression, it's also information. You hook, kick, then go and pressure elsewhere and the second you get a notification you come back and pressure that gen.
Combine it with Pop and it's gorgeous.

I’ve seen a few Perk Tier list and COB is high up there. I am not saying it is a weak perk but isn’t it easily countered?
I have used this a couple times, and the survivors usually know that I have it early/mid game and just tap the generator, even while I am chasing them.
I would probably use it more if gen tapping wasn’t a thing to prevent the generator from regressing but what are your guys thoughts on the perk?
I personally give it a 3/5. Not bad but easily countered. If gen tapping wasn’t a thing, I would use it more
I use it on 'kicky' killers - high sustained mobility. It's awesome on Wraith and Demo, decent on Sadako and Nurse. I like to pair it with Pop (really strong combo) or Oppression/Overcharge if I'm in a silly mood. It also pairs insanely well with Pentimento builds.
It also has a decent information aspect, combined with a loud noise - a lot of fun on Nemesis as it'll attract zombies.
On everyone else...I find that I need the extra time, so I usually go PR+DMS or Plaything+Penti.

Demogorgon.

Plague for sure. Once everyone's infected and gens start popping, you're able to track the survivors around the map and start spewing that delicious red puke at em.
The problem is that the new meta against Plague is to basically spam cleanse and choke her out.

Do you remember how much this perk was broken on SWF teams and BHVR did not nerf it for years. Because they said "OoO users are dying most times, this perk does not help them".
Just gold old days.
Holy crap yes. I came in right when OoO squads were super popular, and killers still had to deal with spots where survivors couldn't be picked up on basically every map, DS still being an extra life and keys...holy crap do I not miss keys.
I do kind of miss the old Game map though.

I would not slug for the 4K if I did not know that the 3rd Survivor hooked will force his death to give the final one hatch.
But since they WILL, and I have every damn right to try for a 4K; I'll slug. And no; it's not 'super cheesy', because it's literally the only way I can try for that 4K without the 3rd Survivor flipping me off and dying on hook.
Nothing, anywhere, says I have to give the Survivor an even-odds chance at the hatch. Moreso when they can be humping the damn thing while I hook their friend, who then offs himself before I've taken 3 steps.
Calling slugging 'super cheesy' is just another way to shame Killers into following an arbitrary set of rules that favor Survivors because they want easier wins. 'Don't slug; it's cheesy. Hook them so they can off themselves & give the hatch to their friend. Because THAT is the fair way to do it!'
No; that's the unintelligent way to do it.
'I am practically betting that the people who say "be happy with the 3k" did so because you slugged the 3rd survivor and then spend 3 minutes looking for the final one.'
Nope! Most the time, it's a Survivor insulting me because I did not give hatch to the final Survivor. It's just the recent buzz-phrase to shame Killers into following fake rules.
Here's the thing. I don't slug. I don't tunnel (on purpose). I don't camp. Most games, I try to 2 hook everyone before killing.
I generally settle for a 3K or a 2K if they were particularly fun, and I don't sweat the odd loss.
I still get called a tunneling camping cheater in postgame. A lot of these things are code for 'I lost and I'm salty about it'. Hilariously, when I get 'GGEZ'd' in postgame, and I point out what I was doing I get 'lul nobody forced you to play like that, not our fault you want to play like a noob'. The insults won't stop.

There is a bit of a difference between going for a 4k and slugging for a 4k tho. One takes actual skill in strategy, the other is a super cheesy way to guarantee 4 kills with 0 risk.
It's basically like old keys, survivors could finish the 5th gen after someone died, with basically a guarantueed 2 man escape and maybe a 3rd one if they played it well, or they could all hide untill someone found the hatch and guarantee the 3rd person escaping with 0 risk.
I am practically betting that the people who say "be happy with the 3k" did so because you slugged the 3rd survivor and then spend 3 minutes looking for the final one.
Eh...
It's a bit like Bubba and camping.
Some killers just have a kit that feels designed around it (Twins especially, but also Oni and Myers). I have no problems with sluggers, as long as they aren't just letting everyone bleed out.
Again, I tend to give hatch unless you were BM, and sometimes I'll even let 2 go if you were especially fun. However, I still get cussed out, once from a team that felt me letting them go was me 'thinking I'm better than them'. Trust me, as a killer...you can't win.

There may not be a rule that you can't do that but it is bad manners to slug for minutes only to have a 4K. It drags the match out longer than it should and it is not fun for the one on their belly crawling around doing nothing.
Shrug. Sure?
I'd be a fan of this style going away, but BHVR are clear that they don't see an issue with it.

So I'm really having a hard time going against the Onryo. Like I don't think she's OP, but I still greatly struggle to deal with her because of her surprise attack and overall map pressure.
I've gone against her back to back games tonight and its always with a BBQ and Chili, Lethal Pursuer, Ruin, and some other aura perks usually. My first game she found me IMMEDIATELY, because LP, and I was able to get away thanks to Lithe, lucky a window was nearby, but I barely had any warning with that cloak thing she has.
But for the rest of both games she just STOMPED us into the ground. We couldn't even get 2 gens done! I was able to loop her for a while, but she'd eventually give up, and if any gen progress WAS done, it went away due to Ruin. Her constant map pressure of just teleporting anywhere she wants every single minute is a LOT, especially when she's got BBQ. I'll be across the entire map and unfortunately I'm near a TV, and BOOM--she's there, instantly. Even without BBQ she has like a free aura-perk because her passive fear thing will jump up if a survivor is near a TV when she appears--so even if we manage to hide, she knows we're nearby and can find us.
I heard her teleport thing has like a 60s cooldown? Which seems fair enough, I guess, since she's only rated as like a B-tier killer, but man does it make the entire map just a danger zone, especially if she has BBQ.
I already struggle quite a bit with stealth killers, like Wraith and Pig, but on top of that she's got wicked map presence. Plus i heard she gets a speed boost or something coming out of the TV? like how wraith does coming out of cloak? Idk, I don't have her, and basically none of this info is on google--I've legit been trying to hunt this info down for a hot minute.
Side note, 60 seems insanely short for someone who can teleport ACROS THE ENTIRE MAP. Plus she gets a speed boost coming out of the TV? As a baby legion this just seems so unfair xD because even if I hit EVERY survivor time JUST perfectly, there's STILL no way I'd be able to cross these ENTIRE maps in a single feral frenzy--and thats even if I can manage to FIND all 4 survivors, AND hit them. Even then the base frenzy only lasts 10s((which i had to play a game to find out, because NONE OF THIS IS ON GOOGLE)) and the base recharge takes 34s, including the 4s STUN Legion gets.
Just don't know what to do. I've seen ranks of all survivors just crumble to this killer, and IDK how she 's just "B tier" because I've yet to win a game against her unless they were just COMPLETE noob who didn't teleport.
Huh.
I think you're the first person I've heard saying this. The only Onryos I've had trouble with either got very lucky with us not finding Devour in time or were very, scarily good players who'd probably have clapped our cheeks no matter who they'd been playing.
But sure, here's how I handle her:
- Immediately split up on gens, especially on indoor maps. I run Discordance on her, and people love to give me a ton of free Condemn all game.
- She has a very distinctive lullaby, if you hear it keep an eye out.
- Spinechill is basically her hard counter, much like most stealthies. If you're really struggling against her, make sure to equip this.
- Don't try to mindgame too much. Once you're in the loop and get a bit of time, maneuver and exit towards the next loop. I ran one for almost 4 gens earlier on Heaven - just don't outsmart yourself. Predrop.
- She makes an incredibly distinctive noise when she pops out of a TV. If you have a flashlight, you can blind her immediately and without counterplay. If not, just hoof it. She gets a small dash (pathetic really) but don't underestimate it.
- Her pickup animation is a bit wonky. I've found that you need to time a pallet save just before the survivor leaves the ground. I've yet to land a flashlight save.
- Her height gives her limited perspective, making it easy to lose her in grass/corn or simply hide.
- NOED...watch out for it. Ditto MYC.
- Her small size makes her lunge deceptively long, much like Freddy's. Again, don't outsmart yourself.
- Very good Sadako's will use TVs in chase to head you off. If you see her flicker and vanish without hearing the demanifestation sound, immediately turn around and run the other way.
A lot of people compare her to Wraith, but I find that she feels more like a really bad version of Demo. But treat her the same as you'd any other M1 killer.
