There really should be a system in place to avoid this... It gets really tiring seeing the same map 3 times in a row....

That's definitely part of it; the vague nature of the ranking system leads to a whole lot of Dunning-Krueger style misjudging of their own level. It's easy for people to think they are better than they are, and most do. And what that leads to is people needing to externalize blame when they don't win.
I don't play a ton of online games, but I have never seen a player base so full of people who cannot accept failure as this one.
One of the other reasons for that is that there are no universal win conditions, everything is subjective. It's beyond asymmetrical, everything is open to personal interpretation. I think that's intentional, as at its core, DBD is a casual game. But that people play it like it isn't is also a huge part of the problem.
Don't get me wrong, I like to win for sure. If I could escape or 4K every game, I would. But I won't sweat over it like it proves anything. But I also won't shame people who play that way, even if it seems silly to me.
I completely agree with that. DBD is also the first online game I have encountered that seems to have this mental ailment in the community.

I mean you are right, we should never know but I just want to know if I'm the only person who was / is thinking this.
I'd love to know tbh. I'd want an interview with whoever would've hypothetically done it so I can get the full picture.
-
The core problem comes from players being conditioned to think they are better or worse than they really are.
-
I've thought of this before. Sabotage from within is always more common in companies than one would assume. It is very possible. Making certain suggestions/decisions that seemingly have a lot of passion behind them, only to already realize exactly what result they will have on the game as a whole over time. Pretty crazy to think about but its crossed my mind before, especially with BHVR. Who is to say? The truth would never come out regardless of if this "tin foil hat" theory actually turned out to be true or not.

We are rewriting the entire code for Dead By Daylight and will be using Unreal Engine 5 from now on.....................................................................................................................................................

GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!! :O

It looks realistic. It's much better than a map like RPD in every way. No comparison.

Thing is, adaptation is a thing that usually needs to occur when playing against different Killers. Deathslinger has deep wounds built into his gun but it’s purely an additional thing that just helps waste a little survivor time if you let them go or lose them on purpose.
Legions entire power is deep wounds, that’s why it’s so prevalent. It’s a time wasting mechanic for a Killer that can mostly only M1 for downs unless they are lucky enough (or use certain add-ons) to get 5 stabs.
You do not heal against Legion, period. You ONLY heal if you have fast healing items that make it worth it. You split up as far as possible and deny as many chains as you can, therefore cutting down mending time.
Legion has counter play, it’s just harder than it was before because Legion now actually has the opportunity to get consistent chain hits.
Against Legion, mending essentially is healing, it’s just shorter and in more frequent bursts. I recommend Iron Will, Spine Chill and Resilience for stealth and gen speed, as focusing on gens is the best thing to do against them.
They do not need nerfed, they are fine.
Bingo.
-
Legion is fine. Leave them alone.
-
No it isn't toxic. It's stupid unless its the final generator or the Killer is terrible.

it looks very blurry and can't be played they should fix this or many players will leave just because of a mistake
I sure hope so... This kills my head...

I have seen it very often in suggestion and I would very much apriciate it myself, even if it would just be single-player costumgame, but was there ever an actual reasons with an actual reason why the devs aren't doing it?
Yes there is one reason. And it is very simple They don't want anyone who likes playing games by themselves to play DBD. Sucks for them though, because that's a HUGE AMOUNT of people.

Keeping the faith....

Killer much more so.

Keep Anti-Aliasing please.
Seeing lines shimmer and textures fight over pixels triggers an instinct in my brain to punch my monitor and gauge my eyes out.
There are few things worse than playing a video game without AA in my opinion, I can't stand it at all.
Or give us an option so those who get headaches from looking at the blurry textures on lower settings can disable it......

A doll. So give us Chucky already.

Just play as the newly buffed Legion killer and you'll get a 4K every time, guaranteed.
Sorry. Legion still isn't that good. xD

He needs some type of map wide effect IMO. It's way too easy to just sit on gens while he's chasing someone. I'd love it if survivors saw fake Ghostface leaning out from random corners to scare them. Even just making a survivor panic and get off of a gen for a few seconds is better than nothing.
I've been saying this for awhile... https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/318635/why-not-give-your-original-created-ghostface-a-mobile-phone-related-power

Just barely. xD

Trickster and Nemesis are tied for me. It's funny because I hate the way both of them play, but whoever did the music for these 2 knew exactly how to make it sound. They are boring AF to play as though imo. Nemesis doesn't feel like he should with no weapons and terrible AI zombies, while Trickster is just....not my cup of tea.

They work for me.
Still sucks for lower end. The nvidia filters drop the FPS further than this forced AA already does.............due to the AA still being loaded under these filters..... It keeps compounding.... They just need to give us an option to turn this ######### off tbh...

Tofu is on the money with what he said. It's the perks that are frustrating to go against. If you are high MMR and the matchmaking actually works then you can bet that EVERYONE will have Dead Hard, DS, and Unbreakable. I personally think it's insane that people are allowed to run all of these together. It's what makes playing M1 killers impossible at high MMR. There needs to either be a major nerf to the survivor meta or some kind of limitation on how many second chance perks you can bring. It would not have a major effect on lower MMR players and would only be a nerf to high MMR players. The current survivor meta is so strong that it completely invalidates everything else. Killer has far more variety as to what you can actually bring and still win. With survivor its just DS, Unbreakable, Circle, Dead Hard, BT. Maybe sometimes you see Prove Thyself.
Yes. Perks like Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, etc, are the reason that each perk should come with a specific "point weight". If they make it to where as a Survivor, you can only have a max of 200 "point weight" and each of those perks takes up 70 or 80 each, then you won't be able to run all of them due to the more powerful perks having a higher value of weight behind them. It's simple. VHS is already doing this.......

You CAN'T? Does the game freeze and prevent your character from moving? Or are you trying grossly exaggerating?
I can't play the game because it literally hurts my eyes to look at. I'm sure that's what they meant. On lower settings with AA forced on the game looks atrocious. It has a horrendous blur filter over the entire screen, ESPECIALLY at lower graphics. If you run the game on higher graphics its less noticeable, but not all of us are that fortunate.... :(

The thing that worries me the most is how the hell does a thing like Bubba's cooldown not get addressed or noticed after a year and a half??? Either you have "nobody" beta testing your game, or something else, because that is not a rare bug, it's something you CLEARLY see.

wait till there no more killer players
for every 4 survivors there need 1 killer one less killer meaning longer Q times for survivors so how long till there fix some of the killer stuff? when the games really dead...
Yes I agree with you both.... :( I really just don't know what else to say most of the time in regards to this stuff... If they eventually fix it they....eventually fix it...

RPD is the worst. Haddonfield is much better. You be crazy.

Then you buff him since you know better how would YOU change him?
If I was making Ghostface better in any way, I'd simply add something more to his power besides just being a bad Myers copy/paste.
See the past thread I made here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/318635/why-not-give-your-original-created-ghostface-a-mobile-phone-related-power
-
They obviously don't know how to change him. xD
-
I'm pretty sure they know a lot of these things exist, but when told about them at meetings or whatever by the community managers/leaders, whoever is actually in charge of "prioritization" just brushes stuff like this off as "minor issues". Priorities are a big thing and most of this little stuff or stuff that bothers ONLY the Killer player base will get ignored regardless of the situation due to the Killer player base only taking up MAYBE around 1/8th - 1/10th of the entire community. When Survivors have a problem with something though, the outcry is coming from such a bigger portion of players (the other 7/8ths - 9/10ths) making it nearly impossible to ignore.
-
Ya it is laughable that they don't have more graphical options at this point....xD Like hilariously...so...2022.. Would've thought..
-
Took the thoughts right out of my head. xD It's pretty hilarious tbh, but yes this patch felt like it did nothing at all, but make my game blurry.
-
Hopefully they add in an option. The game looks so blurry.

Ya it looks terrible... Like I need a new pair of glasses. Was perfectly fine before the patch.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, zombies should move randomly around the map, but when facing nemesis I have noticed a very common tendency from zombies to camp gens, hooked survivors and loops.
Is funny how many times during a chase I got downed not cause the killer skills but because zombies were so conveniently located.
Has anyone else noticed the same or am I just unlucky every time I face nemesis?
You must be the unluckiest person bud. My zombies never do ######### regardless of anything and everything. Nemesis Zombies are so bad they make fully immersed Survivors look like chads.
-
Yea it gave me a major headache. I had to turn it off. :(

It's not just a bit disappointing, it's downright shameful. I can't even play like this, the blurry mess hurts my eyes and gives me a headache.
Already turned it off.. It is really blurry when you have to run it on lower settings... Like damn...

Only with a lazy and pessimistic mind set.
-
Anti-aliasing is the true enemy of FPS... :[
-
I hope someone finds a fix for this... The game looks so blurry...

We really need an option to disable Anti-Aliasing.. It destroys my FPS even on low...

How about instead of changing myers, why not make other killers more like myers?
What i mean is the addons. He has unique addons that allow for completely different playstyles. We need more of that on other killers.
I support this idea. He def has the most variety to his addons.
