When a Killer leaves you to bleed out, instead of just hooking you.
There a comparison, just one is 4 minutes waiting to bleed out to a Killer that won't hook you, and the other is 2 minutes of waiting for survivors to leave the match or you can push them out faster.
I agree with this too. I've always thought the bleed out timer takes too long. It should compound. 1minute is normal then 2 minutes doubles the bleed etc etc..

Mhm. Way too much slack given to Survivors.

I have to agree with the 99 gates thing. There is no reason it should exist. You actually get yelled at by Survivors when you don't do it as well. Very bad mechanic. The gates should regress fairly quickly if not held onto.
-
Further nerfs on Killers will make the game die outright.

I thought I was reading a bait post for a second because this is just so correct? I'm not used to matchmaking updates that have factual information including statements that have clearly been gathered from the community.
idk who managed the MM tests and who gathered feedback but they've done a hell of a good job understanding what the community experienced and in turn what the community wants.
I mean, I can let the hockey analogy slide now tbh.
I honestly think you guys get your hopes up way too quickly. I can't really blame you though as we are starved of transparency and information most of the year.

DbD's huge success was always thanks to the fact that playing survivor is so much fun, easy and casual friendly(+ licensed killers survivors/killers ).
The recent constant nerfs on survivor side since years is getting quite worrying. As you know there is a talk about gutting Dead Hard to be useless and 2 killer getting buffed, a map reworked to be killer sided( massive dead zones), Circle of Healing made useless for solo, and of course healing will also gets nerfed to take forever.
No new perk allowed to be meta for survivors. Example would be Boil over or parental guidance, or in the past lucky break rework nerfed into ground, all of them destroyed by killer main demands.
The only item worth is bringing now is medkit as survivor(thanks to toolbox nerfs, hatch nerf so keys are useless, flashlight only good for killers) the question is how long since soon even healing will be taken away to suit killer main demands.
The point is the game getting very hard for casuals and devs have to really think whatever is it worth to lose huge part of survivor playerbase.
Not sure what you're on about. Survivor is easier than putting bread on butter for most.

I would've made him very different.
Make the Upside-Down like Freddy's Dream World. Demogorgon can still interact with Survivors in the Right-Side Up, but he can chose to pull Survivors into the Upside-Down where he will be unable to interact with them until he also goes into the Upside-Down. In the Upside-Down, Survivors suffer from a moderate (5-10%) action speed penalty and are periodically revealed by Killer Instinct. There are two large Rifts in the map that act as Gateways between the Right-Side Up and Upside-Down. Survivors can use these to escape from the Upside-Down, they can also use Demogorgon's own Portals as an escape OR can have another Survivor let them out by standing in the same spot and performing an action. While the Demogorgon is in the Upside-Down, he is Undetectable.
The Portals act as corruptions in the Entity's Realm, some other entity is seeping power into the map. These Portals expand over time and corrupt the surrounding parts of the map up to X meters.
Once per game, the Demogorgon can send a generator to the Upside-Down. It will cease to exist in the Right-Side Up and can only be completed in the Upside-Down, but if it is, it opens a Portal to the Right-Side Up.
You can still use Portals to teleport or you can choose to head to the Upside-Down. Debating on nerfing Shred or just nixing it.
That sounds freaking awesome! I have to admit though... Just reading that amount of passion put into a single Killer.
That mind set does not = BHVR...xD

That's your opinion and I simply disagree. There is a steep learning curve and better survivors and better killers can come along and run the exact same loadouts we use and do it better. That's a skill issue, not a character issue
You have to be a true fool to believe anybody can reach this "level" you speak of. Whatever helps you sleep at night bud. xD

Nah Budhha's right. If zombies could hook they'd 4k every match. If survivors aren't killing them with pallet slams then you can pretty much just act like a wrestling referee.
I wish my Zombies were the PTB Zombies then after a hit they'd still block you...xD

Maybe your zombies are beta. But mine are alpha chad and often get multiple downs per match. Sorry you aren't feeding your zombies high quality brains, but I use my air fryer and, well, you see the difference.
Luck is a thing. But Pigs RBT are still luckier. :P I would kill to have a Nemesis ability in tier 3 where he grabs the Zombies by the head and puts the parasite on them making them better in every way...
-
The Zombies stop moving when they attack for some reason. A very dumb decision. The Zombies are the most worthless part of any Killer power in the game. Pigs RBT do more damage than Nemesis Zombies do. If the Killers goal was to stand as close to trees, walls, and all other inanimate objects for as long as possible in the match, Nemesis would be #1 because that's all his Zombies do....

Agreed. Especially a licensed map that they put more work and effort into than the Survivors and Killer that it came with...............

The absolute hardest thing to do in this game is to go against a Survivor team of any skill level without seeing at least 1 DH, DS, BT, or Unbreakable. Now that is impossible. There should be an achievement for that.

It isn't a bug. It is obviously an oversight. That is all. :D

@Notionless said:
The problem with buffing killers is that low-level soloQ survivors are already getting dominated by a below average Killer nearly every match, so a buff would turn a near stomp into a full stomp every match.
Compare that to high-level SWFs who can toy with 92% of the killer cast, while the killer needs to be hyperfocused and very experienced in order to win without luck involved, where 2-3 mild mistakes can make a 3 man escape almost guaranteed.
While this conundrum persists, there's no way to cleanly balance any perk or any killer perfectly. And while we might not be able to completely solve it, we can certainly lessen it by making SWF "Basekit":
- One of the biggest advantages a SWF has over soloQ is unhook scenarios. The second a survivor is on a hook, a SWF can easily coordinate a plan for the unhooker, while a soloq survivor is forced to run a perk like kindred, which gives information a team already has access to. making kindred basekit would be a solution.
- Perks like Well make it, BT and DS can be comunicated, while a soloQ survivor needs to just guess if they have the better perks for the situation. you might want to tell someone that you should boon, because you have shadowstep AND coh, while he may only have coh. but neither one of you see that. showing the perks other survivors are bringing in the lobby will certainly help this problem, if not fix it outright for experienced soloQ survs.
- In a team, you always call out if the killer is starting a chase with you or not. you always call out if the killer is commiting to you or not. you always call out if you need some help or not. in SoloQ you basically have to guess whats going on. A change that would help here, is to have an icon similar to the obsession, where you have information if shes/hes in a chase or not. Combined with the terror radius of a killer, survivors could read out very essential info, that is already granted to a swf.
There are a lot more Problems and changes one could consider, but these would help bridge the gap a little, while not overwhelming new players. One change that would bridge the gap almost completely would be a VC, but thats a whole different discussion.
I'd be perfectly fine with it. It would mean that the majority of Killers in the game would become stronger through much needed buffs.

I don't think people fully realize the struggle that's going on in the killer playerbase. We've basically been trying to push all killers to viability, or as close as we can get, in any way we can. And when we say viable, we don't mean beating disorganized solos, we mean beating efficient SWFs. Some killers literally don't have the tools to beat those teams no matter how good you play, simple fact. And we've tried to remedy this in many ways, but we've been blocked at every attempt as the months and years roll by.
We try to use the viable killers, the ones with the strong base strength, who may not even need add-ons to be strong. Examples of this are Hillbilly, and probably Blight soon. Those killers get nerfed because their base is "too strong."
We try to use unviable killers with their strongest add-ons so that they are, or come close to, viable because their base is weak. Examples of this are Clown and Pinhead. Those killers get nerfed because "their OP add-ons make them into a different killer basically".
We try to use perks to buy us time just to play, or to cut down on time to beat the race against time killers have to play. Examples of this are Pop, Ruin, probably Dead Man's Switch soon, or STBFL, Fearmonger, NOED. These perks get nerfed because they're "boring" and "way too strong."
We try to use a change in playstyle and strategy to generate more momentum and kills. Examples of this are slugging, camping, 2-hooking, 1-hooking, focusing on 1-2 people only. These strategies are probably getting nerfed because they're "uninteractive, unfair, and toxic."
So my question is, when all is said and done, what are we actually supposed to be playing like? It seems like we're pushed to either:
Play dirty, boring, sweaty, and make people hate us for it.
Or
Play nice, fair, and get bullied if we don't cease to care about the game that we're playing.
Any way we play, we're not only chastised by others in the community, but we'll not be playing that way for long without expecting a nerf. Simply playing a certain way has people questioning things like your morals and character. And that translates to balance as well, because those same people will plant ideas in the devs' heads like, "This thing is unfair, so remove it. I don't like this, and if you don't fix it I'll auto-DC every time." As a result of this, we've seen killer nerfs that I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams. You don't have to agree with all my examples being unjust nerfs, but to name a few (or rather, many): Hillbilly, Pop, Freddy, dream pallets, Demogorgon, Pyramid Head, Marvin's Blood, Mikhail's Eye, Twins, Undying, Discordance, Deathslinger, Pinhead, Wraith, Spirit, Pinky Finger, Engineer's Fang, Larry's Remains, Flask Of Bleach, Thanataphobia, All-Seeing Blood, Shadow Dance Blood.
And there's many more where those came from, based on the popularity of a variety of killer nerf requests. Bloodlust is probably going, as well as Blight, Nurse, Twins, Artist, Hag, Pig, NOED. It's beyond parody. How can one side deserve to get nerfed so much? Why is killer viability treated like a taboo?
I agree with all of this. I always go back to this interview Mathieu did with Paulie and King about many different things. Mathieu straight up says around 19:00 that they use to try to balance everything, but it became too monumental of a task so they stopped worrying about it. They are talking about Survivor/Killer perks at this part of the interview, but for all we know that statement goes far deeper. Something to think about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGzXiWbviYg
- Skip to 19:00 if you want to hear the man himself discuss why BHVR stopped caring as much about game balance to embrace the more chaotic side of DBD...

Why? Because you took what I said as if I don't enjoy playing killer. I wanna see you just roaming around the map not even trying, I wanna see your 4k matches with such casual playing without caring about winning.
All I meant was what every other killer knows, that you cant simply relax and chill when playing killer.
No clue why you even chose to retort that tbh. Its common opinion. Hell, even I play surv for over 1,000 hours and know how chill it is. I run around not caring about surviving and enjoy to get chased by killer,... but playing killer, you simply cannot afford to ruin around without a gameplan or strategy.

Did killers design the ability to camp, tunnel, or slug? They just use it, ergo not abuse!
Exactly. Blame the damn designers of the game you egomaniacs. Playing Survivor has this really bad mental side effect that comes with it called entitlement. Most Killer players just want to feel powerful and like "a threat", but when they can't do that by the default design of the game, it's time to invent whatever strategies possible to teach those Survivors a LESSON...hahaha xD

The dev's saw the reaction to pinheads cube as a second objective. I doubt they will ever put something into the game that doesn't grant some huge bonus to survivors for doing it over a gen in fear of the backlash.
And I fear......that you are correct.... :/

I'm sorry but they gave so much negativity on release they should have been disabled and reworked
but let's leave them and push everyone single casual and nice player away and not do anything about for 6 months until only the most toxic and tryhardy killers and survivors left and then do something about it
why take so damn long to do anything why always until the game is almost dead, or just filled with more radiation than Chernobyl in 1986 from killers and survivors
this whole crisis of players leaving could have been avoided but here we are, both sides complaining, playing killer is a mental torture, like the fact i wasn't even trying as killer and yet somehow got stressed is something beyond my understanding, and honestly soloQ survivor is just like playing killer, most people are SWF that have no intention of playing with u so they just keep bringing the killer to you and using DS so u get hit, and since the report system is like writing a letter to santa it feels like the game is telling the player to go away
And don't even get me started on TTVS, 1 in 9000 are nice but hey apparently using ur brain as a killer to know that the survivor is hiding in a locker because the gen was being worked on is "stream sniping"
Honestly this whole community is just a mess
Maybe we should go play something else after all, cuz DbD isn't a game its a stress test for your mental health
I couldn't agree more, but CoH being in the form of a Boon and used in the Boon mechanic did that all by itself.

Boons were just a different method of Survivors "messing with Totems".... I just can't agree with that Boons are a secondary objective BS.... Most reasonable suggestion would be a FoV slider while reworking Shadowborn and Q&A accordingly. for people that can’t play with the Shadowborn FoV because of motion sickness.
Very reasonable. I agree good sir. I have only had people complain about the default FoV giving them motion sickness funny enough. It may just be how fast the camera movement in general is in this from the 1st person perspective though.
