Have been wondering this same thing. There is still no reason for Thril of the Hunt to be a Hex...

There is so much wrong with this I can’t.
I'm always imagining a more REALISTIC and immersive take on the game so it makes sense for me. Nobody in the movies would willingly try to go up close to the Killer for the obvious result of instant death. Makes the experience very silly to be able to keep this true evil from getting through a doorway just by standing there... I mean.. Come on.. Has 0 to do with balance as well, in that it IS NOT balanced. It's just something that was left in and not addressed like most things in DBD. xD

I'd say Nurse mechanically. Even though I 4k with her often, her camera/controlling, upsides/downsides all feel like garbage standing back and looking at it from an unbiased and objective viewpoint. She is a beautiful mistake in the form of a character.
-
I never expect a 4k. I expect to not see 4 Dead Hards every single match though....................

I try not to think about all of the easy common sense changes that would improve the game BECAUSE it makes me feel disappointed.
This guy gets it. It is sad to really think just how EASILY some of these changes would be for them to implement, but most of the dev team just doesn't get it. You have to be seriously invested in balance in order to care about these things. Mathieu Cote himself has even said in an interview with Paulie and The King that they stopped trying to balance everything awhile back since there are so many things in the game now it is impossible, but then you have people like me who beg to differ.

I'd like the Minotaur if his weapons didn't look so puny. Oni needs a blighted skin..... Him and Deathslinger... I been waitin.........:/

oh the quickscope removel hurt. it hurt a lot.
but to me, that is actually not the nerf that hit the hardest (not in terms of which nerf made him weaker, but as in which hurt me the most to see - i think we can all agree that all nerfs were highly unnecessary). no, the nerf that hurt me the most was the TR increase, because of one reason:
this nerf was entirely unnecessary and extremely unfair towards Caleb players.
the entirety of the point people made to call his 24m TR "OP" (him shooting them without a heartbeat) could be hardcountered simply by them paying some attention ingame.
there is a bunch to it (i wont name all of it, i did so many times i feel like a broken record at this point), but the counterplay to this started with something as simple as "look out for the big cowboy dude in the distance aiming his gun at you" and ended with something as complex as "pay attention to your positioning when trying to heal, dont do it in an area where you can be ambushed from many possible angles and keep an eye out on possible ambush routes".
if a Survivor got shot from that distance, it was entirely (and i mean 100%) their own fault.
the only thing this nerf accomplishes is, that it actively rewards those who just want to turn their brains off when playing instead of paying attention to the game.
all the tension, all the thought and depth that was in this one simple mechanic got completely thrown out the window and replaced with "hold W when hear TR". and this genuinely, very, very much annoys me. and it honestly shows what kind of players the Devs have chosen to balance this game around. and this genuinely, very, very much scares me.
You make valid points, but in THIS game with THIS community....whining gets you whatever you want... :[

old Deathslinger any day of the week.
- he felt powerful to play as
- he was by no means overpowered
- he had very clear counterplay to him
- he had a high skill ceiling
- he had fun and unique power
- he was one of the only (if not the only) Killer that struck the devs goal of having a perfect 50% kill rate across the board
- his power was surprisingly deep and required a lot of input from both sides to be used / avoided succesfully
- he basically embodied the "perfecr" base concept of what a Killer in DbD is supposed to be: a very strong 1v1 character that ultimately gets overpowered by the Survivors numbers and teamwork
and it feels like a very big slap in the face that this man got gutted the way he did.
and i dont just say that because he was my favourite character, i am saying this from the perspective of someone who had hope that maybe there will be some actually well balanced Killers in this game again at some point, with him being a perfect example for it - and then the Devs looked at it, deemed it "problematic" and removed it.
they removed my one hope for having an actually balanced Killer experience.
I can agree and he still wasn't busted. People complaining about the quick aim ruined a good thing for so many people...

I am not using add-ons on killers usually but Nemesis has not great add-ons, i agree. But his base-kit one of the best.
I love him too... I almost wish he didn't have them....and had his flamethrower instead for periodic use.

Real talk though. I don't think DH would be such a problem if maps weren't as bad they are. Map and tile layout have been ruining the game since day 1.

leatherface in my opinion also huntress after they Nerfed iridescent head she's is 100% perfect
Would love to have you elaborate more on why you think that? Any Killer that has ease of camping baked into their power or kit in some way is automatically terribly designed for me. Ex: Trapper, Hag, Leatherface, Huntress...and some others.
-
Probably Blight. Efficient. Creative. Has good 1v4 and 1v1. Is still susceptible to SWF, but as strong as he is, that's fine.

im a leather n ghost face main but i feel that Lfaces power is a bit slow especially for it being his main power
if i put U.R. carburator on i CANT catch up to survivors looping me ppl with dead hard lithe or any speed perk basicly just fly away and i cant keep gens from being done
then theres hitboxs either being my fault which im fine with or poor hit boxes for things like A DAM BUSH i get cought on them so much lol mid chase just divine.
final thing that annoys me the smallest is just that the animation for him getting exhausted after chainsaw sweep is to long as i spend what looks like 2 extra seconds of standing still this is a small thing but yeah.
yet BUBBAS DIFFICULTY is marked as EASY mmm. i give up on bubba i rarely even use his power.
Leatherface is one of the easiest Killers to get downs with. He doesn't need buffed, he needs tweaked. Have them make that "Speed Limiter" Addon base and then he can't camp through BT as easily.

Back before Nurse was nerfed, her fatigue looking at the ground was an okay mechanic to give survivors some room to manage playing against a killer that was obviously OP. However, she's been nerfed a while ago now, yet the mechanics that were made because of her power level are still there, why?
Post-nerf Nurse has 3 mechanics holding her back: 96% Movement speed, cooldown after blinks, and fatigue. Even though she's not as powerful as before.
I still think she's the best killer in the game, but spending 60% of a match walking at snail's pace and looking at the ground isn't a very pleasant experience. I think she should have her fatigue straight up removed, but have a 1-2s grace period where you can't blink, or have the fatigue but make her NOT look at the ground.
One of the worst designed Killers in the game. She is a beautiful mistake of a character, because some people are in fact, masochists.
-
The answer is: the majority of Killers need fixing. Done.
-
Deathslinger is pretty bad after that nerf in terms of mechanical functionality, Nemesis is only half a Killer since 50% of his strength was made into the AI Zombies that do nothing the entire match anyway unless you are lucky. Plague is decent though.
-
@feffrey said:
My frustration doesn't come from it being nerfed into the ground but because it feels like they're using good perks as a bait and switch to get you into a character then once you buy unlock and level it it's gets nerfed.
To something not worth using or make you want to go back to the old playstyle before cause it's almost no different
Seems to be a successful strategy eh? I wish more people thought like you, than the game might actually become better as the player base would be tempted to move on that much faster.

Zombies don't lose collision when hitting a Survivor, only when getting blinded
Maybe I worded it wrong. The Survivors in the PTB could be body blocked by the Zombies even after getting hit. Now they cannot, which is fine. That was a little silly.

I don't see a world in which Zombies don't get stuck on a bush in the corner of Dead Dawg
Have faith! :D They were actually much better in the PTB. They were a night and day difference as well as kept collision when they hit a Survivor. I understand removing the collision, but they went and did something else too. >:(

Better idea:
Delete his Zombies completely and buff his Contamination so he has a non-RNG 1v4 Power
Well being realistic, I think they'd be more inclined to just make a new model for the parasite on their head instead of outright delete them having spent time money and resources on them to begin with. That won't happen. If they buff the AI, I think he'll be in a better spot.

I haven't noticed any huge issues with pathing on the Zombies when I play as Nemesis, but yeah, they do sometimes get stuck, maybe once every 5-6 games. I just whack them when I'm near them so that they respawn, which gives some mutation progress out of it and drops them near a gen that a survivor may be working on.
It would be nice if they path a little better yes, but then again, they're supposed to be dumb zombies. I'm also not certain, but they may be less prone to getting stuck when they have the add-on that gives them an FoV/Detection increase.
It seems to be the opposite for most of us. When I play Nemesis, the zombies are always stuck during those 5 out of 6 games and then on the 1 game they are walking freely they never hit anyone anyway. They need buffed. Completely useless. That FOV addon doesn't do JACK btw. :(

This would be so amazing. The zombies in the game now are complete garbage.... They really do nothing EXCEPT get stuck on EVERYTHING....... :( He deserves to be able to upgrade his Zombies, especially since he has none of his canonical weaponry.
-
Seeing this thread reminds me of that Brutal Strength buff I've wanted for awhile. Brutal Strength keeps its current effects, but also says: Lunge Attacks destroy Breakable Walls.
-
I was really thinking they'd do this awhile after the game took off. It would be really nice to see Survivors become more UNIQUE and not just swap outs of each other in terms of utility.
-
I've always thought if you WILLINGLY are closer to the Killer for more than 2sec you become exposed and go down in 1 hit. That way Survivors can't do that stupid stand in the door way so you can't get through.

For each Scourge Hook perk you run as Killer it turns 1 single hook in the basement into a Scourge Hook. So if you run 4...then BINGO. Lots of people are against all the basement hooks being Scourge, but if you used all Scourge perks to turn all 4 they shouldn't really be complaining as better perks could be used and blah blah. Maybe even Monstrous Shrine turns all basement into Scourge I agree. That perk is complete garbage and probably the perk I have never once seen used EVER in DBD. xD

Yolo'ing whenever and wherever usually bites Survivors back so that's why I don't necessarily think Exhaustion needs a nerf. Dead Hard, however can rot in hell
That's always on my mind when I see them use it too.... I'm like yay... You YOLO'd... (proceeds to cry as they made so many mistakes I lost count but got away because of that DH YOLO)

I like teleporting. 🙂 But I doubt the next killer will be a teleporter or stealth killer since it would be mechanically too similar to Sadako who just came out last month.
Personally I'm still rooting for a Medusa style killer that, while survivors are looking at her, they build up negative conditions. So it would be a killer that you're actually actively trying not to look at during chases and on gens.
I like that Killer idea. Has Slenderman vibes to it!

Not being able to vault Windows is too harsh.
Not being able to fast vault Windows would be more fair, but i don't think Exhaustion, the Status Effect itself, needs a nerf
Ah I see. There's got to be something with Exhausted that can be changed to make it a decision in the Survivors mind before just YOLOING whenever..

I agree that it can work, I'm just saying that low pov can work because he would've already have an advantage of being short, so it would balance out
Ah I see. I am actually very curious IF they ever do add him, how they would balance out such a short stature as well, but I already threw in some good ideas right there to really make him unpredictable. As well as being able to teleport/reposition the dolls in the map itself would be pretty intimidating. Maybe even make it to where he cannot be stunned by pallets because he automatically crawls under it instead. So where normal Killers would be in a stunned animation, Chucky is forced into a crawl animation and be right at the Survivors feet who thought it was a good idea to put the pallet down. xD Idk just trying to think of anything they could do to make him work.
He has been my most wanted after Pinhead so I hope he makes it someday.
-
What if they made it to where: When a Survivor is suffering from the Exhausted Status Effect (whether it be by their own perks or the Killer's perks or power) they cannot vault period? Would that fix anything? Or would you have to make it to where they just can't interact with stuff while running/in chase since they are.... you know.... EXHAUSTED???
-
@Maperson said:

That just isn't true, I've played Blight since his release, he had lower pov but it wasn't like you couldn't see over loops, that's a lie. They reworked his pov because it was lower than it should, because he was taller than his pov showed
Regardless. They could make it work. Whether it be from constant aura reading when they are near you or if Chucky has 0 terror radius permanently so you never know when he's coming. Chucky as an idea, CAN easily work into DBD.

I'd like to see the perk be more interactive and balance, as well as making sense. So I had an idea for a slight rework.
Iron Will-
Grunts of pain are reduced by 30/40/50%.
Press the active ability button to hold your breath and reduce all grunts of pain by 100% for 12 seconds. Has a 30 second cooldown. (Cannot by activated while running)
I think this would be a great change that focuses the perk around a play style rather than being a catch all permanent mega buff.
I love this idea!

The most degrading part is that even when you tunnel and 2-hook and things like that, you either still lose or you win and get toxic messages. It's a forced playstyle that you're still not happy with because there's no choices, you just do.
