You must not escape much if this excites you this much.
So congrats, it will become normal once you get some more experience

I haven't got any issues any more.
Have you tries validating your files? I noticed i have to do that after every patch to keep things going smooth

I mean... Pretty misleading, eh?
If Wraith is on you, he gets his hit. He uncloaks, probably with addons to reduce that time in doing so, and he gets his hit with his speed burst. The only way you get out of the hit is if there are windows next to windows, or windows with a long wall where he can't play it out correctly. And he's a 115 normally.
Spirit can't actually see what's going on, which provides a lot of counterplay options. She's also 110 normally. Combined with her ability having a cooldown, and Wraith's not, her output seems much lower. This is including addons.
Wraith traverses the map at 150 with no cooldown or limited duration. You can know where he is, but at that point, he also knows where YOU are. And he always sees you. His uncloak is roughly 2 seconds, at which point, he hits you if you didn't already vault something.
That just seems better to me than what Spirit does.
If everyone disagrees, alright, but that's why I feel the way I do.
His uncloak is 3 seconds by base. That's 12 meters the survivors can run from you. If any kind of defence is near wraith won't get the hit against survivors who don't get outpositioned.
Also you are highly overestimating the weakness of spirit of not seeing survivors. If survivors are injured and don't have iron will then good spirits will know where you are 100% of the time.
Even when not injured the tracks along with footsteps and moving grass will alow good spirits to still have a good idea where you are. While survivors have no idea.
It's not that big of a downside once you learn to track with other stuff then your eyes.
Don't get me wrong,, wraith is very strong now. But good spirits can get hits wraiths can only dream of
-
1 has to slow down to a crawl and unless you have some addons anounce his presence before he gets to attack.
The other attacks instantly with little to no warning.
Those are pretty big differences
-
More like people abusing the sbmm metric to play specifically towards losing mmr so average players have to play against more experienced players who just want easy matches again

Do they deserve it?
Do you know another game like this that's even remotely as succesfull?
Yes they deserve it

This game has no place for 4.4ms killers without mobility.
The difference between 4.4 and 4.6 in terms of map mobility is so small it's neglectable.
The speed difference only matters in chasing

Trickster
Just kite back and throw knives.
At long range the bottles are easilly avoided.
Even if it get's to close range tricksters weapon is much longer then clowns pocket knife.
The only way clown could win if he got the drop on trickster

Still love the game so yes.
Never lost faith

It's a known bug. it doesn't register always.
I suggest waiting to try it untill it gets fixed

Pinhead is already pretty strong. It's just that many people see his portal chains as his main power and the chain hunt as secondary while it's reversed.
Use your portal chains to harras the person opening the box, down them, rince and repeat to have a constant chain hunt on survivors for insane pressure.
Just the usual case of people trying to make a non chase killer into a pure chase killer.
One change can be pretty much agreed on though. Get them voice lines back

Less dead hard means more sprint burst. Lesser of two evils.
I would much prefer sprint burst over dead hard.
Sprint burst has requirements. You either have to walk everywhere or use it and risk not having it when uou need it.
Someone who 99% their sprint burst can't work on gens.
And most importantly sprint burst happens at the start of a chase. If i see you sprint bursting to a supersafe zone i can just leave you and harras other survivors. You might have saved yourself but you bought zero time.
With dead hard i have to go through the entire chase to then suddenly get outplayed by a perk
Sprint burst also won't do anything against traps or other powers.
Sprint burst is very strong. Arguably stronger then dead hard maybe. But it's no where near as antagonising to deal with
-
The thing is you have zero clue if they indeed went up in the mmr system.
It looks for more things then just escapes and kills.
Forget about it and let it do it's thing in the background.
If you have bad matchmaking in a month then you can start to complain about it

Ironic that this statement gets upvotes like it isn't godawful advice, when Cote himself said "go play civilization" and was absolutely massacred by the community for such awful advice, even having to publicly apologize for saying it.
Cote was 100% right
There are so many people that keep playing this game while it is frustrating them. It's bad for them and for whoever they play with
I always play dbd along with another game that i play if i had a bad match and i never get frustrated at the game and enjoy almost every single match.
i personally despise that he had to apologize to those moronic players who if they aren't supervised play themself in unending frustration.
But it was a good refresher of why this is the worst community. It's sad adults needed to be told this. Even sadder that they actually raged out for it.
If people can't see how "if a game is frustrating you play something else for a while" is good advice then those people should probably just step away from games entirelly before they destroy their own mentality and the fun of anyone they play with

To be fair to the op, if no one voiced concerns about the game, nothing would be seen by the devs.
If we don't voice concerns the devs can use it as an excuse and say 'we never saw any complaints'. If we do let them know then it's in the devs hands whether they want to do anything or just ignore it.
He didn't voice any concerns in his original post though.
"Waah waah this sucks i hate you all" helps nobody.
Maybe if he actually voiced his opinion and exactly what it is that they hate so much they wouldn't get sarcastic comments like " just play something else"

What are the multiple uses for his chain, in your experience? I only really like the chain itself to make unsafe loops guaranteed hits. Other than that, I am struggling to figure out when to use it.
Stopping people from opening the box is the best use i don't often see people do.
With the extra range addons you can stop them from miles away. Then just go down the box holder and you mess the whole team up
-
I would ditch dying light
With it's win more properties, only working against 2-3 survivors, giving survivors a buff to help deal with thana and mangled and the fact that slowdown stacks multiplicatively it is just not worth it.
Add a regression perk to take advantage of all the slowdown instead if you want to be efficient

"expecting a killer to be good at release is foolish?" how? Then nobody would buy it, i look at everything when it comes out. If i watched the ptb earlier and spoiled it for myself. Prob wouldnt have bought it. That's what i get for having hope
How is automatically assuming a killer being good without doing any research anything but foolish.
Hell 9/10 he isn't actually bad but people need to figure him out first.
Almost every single killer released lattely were buffed in the midchapter after release

Okay so i should expect the new killer to be bad at release? lol I can't buy it cuz i like Hellraiser? ight
You can buy it cause you like hellraiser no problem.
But expecting a killer to be good at release or being good at a killer right at release is foolish.
Bhvr is known for playing it safe and buffing when needed afterwards.
You bought exactly what they were offering. There is zero scamming going on here
-
You can refund the dlc if you haven't played for 2 hours after buying it on steam.
Also if a powerlevel of a killer matters so much to you don't buy them day 1. You making stupid purchases is not the same as being scammed

Re-enable Hawkins when it gets removed.
Sorry, but they weren't disabled, they were removed. And if mods aren't allowed to say anything, risking to seem conspiracionist, it's clear there were license issues.
Which is weird as them being in the ptb means it was clearly approved before

You can't refund dlc on Steam, only the base games if your playtime is under 2 hours
DLC purchased from the Steam store is refundable within fourteen days of purchase, and if the underlying title has been played for less than two hours since the DLC was purchased, so long as the DLC has not been consumed, modified or transferred.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2477875#Comment_2477875
Agreed. I love that this stuff is what they're prioritizing. But at least Dead Hard doesn't make the game freeze for every console player now, after like three+ months?
I mean it is important.
Imagine you quit for a year and return in 2 months.
Now you'll instantly see something changed with ranks.
If it remained the same you would have no clue unless you specifically looked it up.
It's not a change for the sake of change

Yep, they killed the meme.
Well you can't refund auric cells so i'm afraid you're hooked now
-
If it's less then 2 hours you can refund it in steam
-
To show something has changed.
Nothing more, nothing less
-
You reverting the nerf on gearhead would be all that's needed i think. Maybe letting it work on healthstates so m2 killers can use it too. That would make it decent.
Deadman switch is a bit more tricky but i would start by giving repairing survivors a difficult skillcheck upon hooking the survivor so that if they fail the skillcheck the gen gets blocked for the full duration
The duration also could use a increase in time
They still wouldn't be amazing with these changes but a lot more playable
-
Well apperently by not going down near the hook.
Funny thing is that it most likely has rng in it. If you had the skillcheck eqrlier you probably would have gone of
-
It doesn't matter.
Not only does it depend on a ton of different elements but the fact that this game is a asymetrical game with a ton of variables in killers, perks, maps, rng within those maps,... means it will always be sided to a side. There is no magical balance.
Most of the complaints about the balance in this game are due to facing players who are more experienced then you are
-
It is very good and strong. Yes you sacrifice some of your tracking power on your FF but oblivious is so strong on Legion.
It counteracts the hold shift w at the sound of a hearthbeat Legion is so struggling with.
It demands a shift in playstyle in Legion which is just fun
-
Legion easilly.
Wait untill he shoots one of them and then bodyblock the chain untill it breaks and stab him to death while he is stunned from his harpoon chain breaking.
If the entity creates strange logic in her realm you use it
-
Ruin or pop?
Yes
-
Best bet is some of them heard it causes freeze frames on console.
If i remember correctly that was already (kinda) fixed
-
I wouldn't go out of my way to tunnel but if i see an injured survivor with a trap and a reasonable oppertunity to take them out i will take it.
I won't ignore them for a trap that may or may not be removed 10 seconds later after they interracted with the first box they come across.
In theory it's better to leave trapped survivors alone but in practise the slowdown is so inconcistant that taking them down if you get the chance is just better.
-
The only problem with noed is in case of camping.
Camping on it's own is fine cause you can just do gens.
Noed on it's own is fine cause you can just do bones.
It get's tricky when you suddenly have to bones and gens at the same time.
-
Whispers.
Not saying it's bad but it's incredibilly overrated.
People say you can triangulate the position of survivors but are forgetting that multiple survivors can mess that up.
Also when you leave a hook and get 32m away from it with whispers still active you have zero clue where said survivor is. And right after a hook is when you want that information the most so you can capitalize on the pressure.
-
Silent bell is op! Wraith can sneak up to survivors way to easy with it!!! There is zero way of saying he's near.
Wraith: Gurgle gurgle wheeze, global whoosing noises

Therein lies the problem though. If they aren't better than the current meta then nobody will run them. "Worth picking" usually means you want to swap it out with a perk from your current loadout. Can you spitball an idea of a perk off the top of your head that isn't meta breaking but is "worth picking"? Undying is a perfect example of a perk that had good intentions(slowing down gen times by forcing survivors to do all dull totems) but in execution was completely busted, and you could still argue that it's insanely strong even after its nerf as it is one of the most picked perks killer side I would imagine.
I mean that's not entirelly true.
There are perks that are worth picking that are nowhere neat meta defining
Agitation is a perk that will always help and isn't meta
Dark Devotion is a perk i will always enjoy and do good with most of the time.
Make your choice can be insane on certain killers but nobody would say it's meta.
And even though i think it's overrated whispers also is just a good perk.
None of these are meta defining due to consistancy or other issue but they aren't bad perks.
I won't burst out laughing when playing survivor against these perks unlike something like Beast of Prey would

With MMR coming, things almost need to be bonkers or people are gonna see the same perks, killers and add ons at higher levels
I've yet to see that. People are really over exaggerating what effect MMR will have. It won't have that much of an impact.
Especially for killers who will have like 20+ sepperate mmr ratings.
-
@Carth said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2473249#Comment_2473249
The problem with this is power creep. Games at high level already go way too fast, how would you make a perk better than BT or old DS? Or any of the meta perks. The only way you could do so would be to make ridiculous perks that are even stronger which in turn would shorten games even more
The perks changed don't need to be better then the current meta. They don't need to be bonkers. Just good, actually worth picking
-
With killer it's even easier.
Just play on rotation. You have like 20+ different mmr ratings. You can play and win 20 matches and only have the gains of 1 match per killer.
-
It really won't be so bad.
Especially for killers who have like 20ish different mmr ratings.
If you are scared of difficult matches just play killers on rotation. It will take ages before they all will be high mmr.
And it's safe to assume mmr will also drop if you haven't played a killer in a while so that makes it even less likely every single on of your killers will go against dead squads.
People are over reacting. As per usual.

That is some intense math you have there! In all seriousness, it is not going to just be the top 5% where this is an issue. It all trickles down. To what end, who knows? I guess we will find out.
I just find it funny how every person thinks their mmr will be that high that they will only face top swf or top killers.
-
They should make a special perk slot that can only have specific perks.
A 5th slot that will just be another slowdown is a bad idea. But something small like shadowborn or agitation would be fun 5th picks
