  • Not really, you just misplayed going after a fresh hook when there were 2 deadhooks running around. Nothing says all survivors need to be alive when this activates.

Hook survivor A, then B, then A again, then C and then kill A. That's a kill by 5 hooks. In most games only a single gen will be left. And that gen will be done soon. Often the gen will pop on your next hook and then 2 escape or if they can get the resque 3 escape. If you catch D at that point you have a moment of free time where the gen can't be done to find and down the rest. While yes still situational It's a situation i often see and this perk turns what should have been a 1-2k into a 3-4k

Nothing meta defining ofcourse. But certainly not bad. You just need to focus on the game and not tunnelvision on the perk alone. If you run Noed you also aren't going to stop defending gens and let them be done when you're ahead just so you can use your perk.

  • It's especially fun now. You get more tokens then you should

  • I play a fair amount of Legion.

I also see them quite a bit so maybe it's a regional thing.

  • God i thought this was going to be funny but it's straight up depressing.

  • The problem is i'm terrible at her. Just straight garbo.

I wish i could blame it on the character but it is painfully obvious it's me who's ancestor shamingly bad at her.

Every match i feel like i owe the survivors an apology for how preposterously poor my performance is

  • The ironic thing is you counter noed by not doing bones.

Every totem you cleanse is a chance for noed to be on a totem that hasen't been found untill you cleansed all 5.

Better to just remember the locations and cleanse it after the gens are done.

So yes op is right map is amazing counter to noed

I would really like to see the additional Legion members on the map somewhat like Nemesis' zombies.

See this is something I'm hoping is not going to happen.

I don't want them to be a discount nemesis or twins. I don't want them to just be a better version of those killers either.

I still want them to be Legion. Just smoother

  • The perk is not that bad. People are making the mistake of thinking you have to play supernice with it.

You can still hook survivor A, then B, then A again, then C, then kill A and then D.

Normally the gens tend to be done at this time. Grim embrace gives you time to lock in pressure 3 survivors can't get out of.

Now i'm not going to pretend this is some meta defining stuff but it does tend to turn games that should have been 1-2k's into 3-4k's.

Not good cause you still need to get to that point but certainly not bad

Honestly, I think the comparative constant stress would be fine (there's a lot of games that get to be like that when you play them all the time), if it wasn't for the current game balance/design adding stressors. I think the posts further up partly got to it: you're not getting a good payoff for doing well as a killer a lot of the time. You win a chase/mindgame, and you have to do part 2 of the chase. You land a tricky power shot or do well with it? Well, play the wrong killer and it hasn't done anything.

And every mistake is basically followed by "ping! one gen has popped". A survivor mistake can be followed by something as simple as "I need to heal."

I don't play multiplayer games that often so i don't know that many of them but there are very few games i know that have this constant action like killer in dbd has.

In shooters there is a timer when you die or you have to wait for the next match. In moba's there is a lot of farming as far as i know. In a lot of rts's there is a rebuilding fase after armies clash.

Fighting games are the closest to this i can think of but those matches are a lot shorter then dbd matches

  • Funny how i just said this in another thread.

The thing is killer is just stressfull by design. They are in constant action and under constant time pressure. There never is a real downtime with killer unless your so far ahead you can't lose anymore.

Survivors just don't have this as much. While you will have times where you get tunneled back to back a single game where someone else is the target is all you need to atleast regain a little composure.

Couple that with the state of balance and killer mistakes in general being much harder punished then survivor mistakes and you have a role that's under constant pressure.

The frustration builds up causing more mistakes and more frustration untill it suddenly snaps.

You'll notice that a lot of these "I'm leaving" generally come from "mains" very rarely will somebody make a goodby post and say they play both sides. They always play the most pressured side back to back. Being a pure killermain wouldn't be a good idea even if the game was more balanced

That's why M'Cote's advice of "play something else" is so misunderstood. It really makes a world of difference to even have a little breathing room. It's one of the best advices we could have had but we took it completly the wrong way.

Even the most intense action movie will never have action non-stop. It's always action into slow scene into action into slow scene etc.

Our brain is just not wired to deal with that constant stimulation. The game and bassicly everything in life becomes a lot less frustrating if you remind yourself to take a step back once in a while

  • Survivor is less stressfull on avarage but that's to be expected.

Even completly disregarding balance survivor would be less stressfull. As a killer your in constant action. Constant chasing searching planning.

As a survivor you just have a lot more downtime. It's hard to be stressed if you are on a gen alone with a terror radius warning you if the killer is near.

Now this not to be mistaken that survivor is completly stressless.

If you are the target of the chase whole game then the same "always in action" applies. Teammates doing dumb stuff can be frustrating and it's really easy to pick up the bad habbit of always blaming your teammates which also increases stress.

  • It's easy to make a patch look good on paper. It could easilly be the worst patch after playtesting.

It was a joke. Let's not treat it more then it was

It doesn't matter where you put it.

You go to the left, deploy crow (get slowed), survivor goes to the right and leave the loop. Ofc if it's only one crow on the loop survivors may attempt to juke it, pretending to run towards the crow only to double back, but if it's more than one they will easily leave.

The infinite range is only good for map patrol and checking gens, that's the only plus the killer has. Say what you want, even legion is better than artist

Aim the crow not at the loop you are at but the one the hold w gamer is going to run to.

Once they are swarmed you can have 3 crows to shoot through walls.

I can get the argument that she's probably not S-tier but saying she's bad is most likely a you issue

  • Have you tried predicting the hold w and aiming the crow in the direction they will go instead of always mindlessly putting it at the loop you're at.

It's often really obvious where they will hold w to.

The ability does have infinite range

  • People aren't complaining about you playing with friends. They are complaining about the sheer advantage being on comms gives compared to without.

What you just did was make a strawman argument

  • It was changed.

Just open the hatch with a key and escape and you'll have it

  • The only buffs he needs is QoL changes like removing the recoil or at thevery least reverse how it works.

Right now you get less recoil the more knives you throw. That really should be reversed.make the first 2-3 pin point accurate and then make them recoil

  • It pauzes any excisting exhaustion.

It's far from a useless perk

  • You're making the mistake of thinking that i'm being angry for this. I'm not angry.

It's not that i'm going to hate the player for doing this. They paid for their copy, they can do what they want as long as it isn't ban worthy. And this isn't. Just find that if you want to troll me you can't complain if i troll you back.

If i was taking the game too seriously i wouldn't let teammates go to second stage for the joke of it.

We are not going to reach an agreement so i think it's best to just agree to disagree.

Just know that jumping of hook in front of a player is considered rude to some people. That you don't find it rude doesn't change how they feel and if they feel like returning the favor you're only a hypocrit if you call them out for being petty. It's simular to T-bagging. Lot's of players like myself have no issue with it. Some do, and if you t-bag those players and get facecamped or slugged to death you also don't really get to complain cause you know it triggers people.

You paid for the game and you can do what you want in it. But don't call other petty for doing the same to you.

i think whats worse... is letting ur teamamate get to second. thats probs screwing ur teammates over alot more

It doesn't happen that often. So it's not that big of a deal.

  • Seems to be a lot bigger chance when i'm running deliverance or We'll make it

a 4% chance for the single reason of screwing your team with zero actual benefit is still rude.

It's not a big deal, you not getting resqued afterwards also isn't that big a deal. There is a 96% chance of it not happening after all.

But if you troll me you can't really complain i troll you back

Kinda hypocritical to say your trolling is funny but mine is petty.

  • If you don't understand how straight up denying your teammates perks can't be seen as rude then that's equally not on me

but how? if a survivor is coming to get me and i have enough time for an attempt why wouldn't i? not like i would go to second stage

Kinda rude to take their points away is the biggest argument i heard against it.

You also screw over some builds. You may call me "unfun" if i leave you to go second stage on hook after attempting to kobe but after dying on first hook a couple of times cause my Deliverence was denied by a hilarious kobe in the face you can't really blame me for it anymore.

Not to mention challenges you deny

A lot of people just find it rude all around, don't do it if you want to still work as a team afterwards

  • Survivors seeing eachothers aura by basekit seems fine to me.

The increase in speed added to kindred is going to be so abused though. Hooking somebody in basement shack means a survivor can run the killer around shack having full aura read on them while the rest of the team does gens faster.

For a basement hook. That's suppose to be advantage for the killer.

Compared to every other indie game on the market? Absolutely not. The vast majority of the community is not happy with the game, and this goes beyond the community being somewhat whiny. Simple problems are ignored, large community outcries are responded to tactlessly, and it's not a coincidence that the appearance of any other game in this genre has tons of people looking for greener pastures.

Whatever love is or was here, I definitely don't feel it. And for a company that was said to be one of the best to work at, it doesn't really seem to be translating to their product which is REALLY disappointing.

This game feels like someone got lucky with something catching on and ran with it as best they could for as long as they could, but we're way past that point right now.

Nobody is going to deny that their are problems with the game but to say the vast majority of the community being unhappy with the game is not entirely correct.

These forums are but a fraction of the community, they don't reprisent the whole community. If the vast mayority was unhappy the vast mayority would stop playing it. And that's not what's happening.

  • Seems to me deathslinger needs some more nerfs

What anecdote? Do math. Time to find a totem. Time to boon it. Time to heal. That already is larger than the 32 seconds a self care takes without bonuses like a medkit or botany knowledge.

Again, the numbers only work out in CoH's favor if the totem is nearby and ignored by the killer. Of the totem is set up on the other side of the map, you could have self cared in the time it took to run there and then heal.

These are subjective "feelings". It's cold, hard numbers that don't give an eff about your feelings on the matter. If all four ran self care, it would, the majority of the time, be more efficient with time than to use CoH. Spend more time on gens.

So again, go ahead and delete the perk so we can go back to eyerolling over the dead hard and decisive strike complaints.

While i agree that boons in general are a big time sink you so have to factor in that the boon only needs to be setup once and is then usable untill snuffed. Which isn't always feasable.

So while yes boons have a big time cost alongside them CoH blows Selfcare completly out of the water and it's not even close. Just the fact that it's a single perk slot vs 4 slots already puts selfcare to shame

  • Most people seem to agree she's fine.

It's actually really refreshing to see so little NERF/BUFF post about a killer that was just released

  • So the prophecy is true.

    You are the messiah!

  • Yeah i was on the team that said boons were fine (and i still think they are as a whole) but after finally playing some survivor games with them i felt dirty with the stuff i could get away with.

Never had that much issue as a killer but when playing survivor it's very overtuned.

I think just lowering the healing speed is enough though. Changing it to 33% means you heal yourself in 24 seconds and others in 12. That's still very good but a lot more managable

  • Hag with collision traps but then you're playing hag with collision traps

Trapper sometimes if the bones are trappable but this isn't concistant

Doc when thrill is in play cause everytime you shock people they have to start over and 28 seconds to cleanse i quite a long time seeing how you can shock every minute. They really need to do the bones in the 40 seconds after a shock or risk losing all progress again. So if you can manually look at them you can make it quite hard. Double so if you're sniper doc.

Demo with thrill. Without thrill totems go to fast

Yeah, I know, my question was about why it sometimes doesn't deal damage despite the survivor being really close to the crow, like 100% in range of damage.

The smallest obstacle that the birds collide with turn them into a swarm shot

  • I got jumpscared a couple of times by one

  • If it makes the mythical 5 stack pentimento possible i'm down for it.

Probably going to have to switch some of the effects around then. 30% slowdown is quite a lot for a single totem that could be rekindled constantly

  • Normally it takes 14 seconds to bless a dull totem. And 28 seconds to bless a hex.

Thrill's 50% slowdown doubles those times. That's 28 seconds to bless a dull and a whopping 56 seconds to bless a hex.

All lf this uninterruped. Chase them off or interupt them any other way (for example doctor shock) and they have to start over.

They will have to cleanse hexes. If they spend close to a minute blessing a hex then you had so much slowdown your perks gave you vallue enough. And any hex they cleanse is a totem they can't boon anymore

Now this ofcourse isn't a hard counter and it is somewhat luck dependand but it hampers them enough to be worth it imo

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2676271#Comment_2676271

So? they just rebless it. There's no point in even snuffing them.

Every 14 seconds they bless is 17,5% of a gen that isn't done. It hurts more then you would think.

The only problems with boons is the power of multifloor boons and CoH being overtuned. Scale CoH down and they'll be manegable

  • Problem is that it's a pretty hard fix. Slugging is needed for pressure sometimes.

Making the bleed out timer faster (even if optional) is just going to be used by salty people to get out of a match like hook suicedes work. And it still wastes your time. The difference between 2 minutes and 4 isn't that much. It's still going to be and feel like bm.

Killing all survivors when there is no way to get back up could deny some unbreakable plays and i don't think they'll be able to program it so it looks for those perks. The killer will know you have a way of picking yourself up if the game doesn't end.

It's a pretty tricky thing to fix and it doesn't happen often enough to be high on the priority list i imagine

  • I like her overal. Haven't played with a good build (always one of from merciless) but i'm having fun.

Playing against her is fun too so far but we'll see when people actually become good as her.

  • Thrill still doubles the time it takes to boon.

People wrote it off cause of it lost the notification without even trying it but it really slows boon heavy players down.

I rarely have big trouble with boons when i run it

  • Welcome to the forum!

We like to complain here but there are pictures of cute cows and cute drawings floating around here so it's not all bad

  • @jesterkind said:

I'm not sure whether I like being able to bring a perk that hardcore shuts down survivors quite like that. I'm sure there are other examples of that general concept, but this feels far more extreme.

I do think that rekindled hexes shouldn't be viable for blessing, that part seems fair. As for rekindling blessed totems... I don't know that it makes much thematic or balancing sense, to be honest.

    Rekindled totems can't be booned

They can be blessed which takes 28 seconds but the totem then dissapears. The same as it would with the 14 second cleanse time

To the op thrill counters boons already. Boons on a whole are fine. It's just CoH that's overtuned

  • You're not going to get a lot of positive responses here lol.

This is the place people come to complain and there is a lot to complain about now.

  • I would change the activation condition.

Right now it activates when you hook a survivor after the gates are open. Problem is this is countered by 99ing the gates. Which wouldn't be that bad except that's the best survivor play anyway.

I would change it to when you hook a survivor after the gens are done but before the gates are powered they get blocked for the first minute they were opened.

Then the best play is to open the gate before the hook happens or open them instantly to get the timer started.

99ing wouldn't be the best course of action everytime.

It would kill the meme of letting egc kill them all but overall would make the perk a whole lot more consistant

  • On the assumption survivors get interruped by crows.

Thrill with full hex build, find a place where you can hit all totems with your birds. Rince and repeat. See if survivors are going to keep trying to cleanse

Other then that jumpscr(are)ow with her addons which cause oblivious and give her undetectable could be fun too

  • It kinda does but kinda doesn't.

Thing is her power ignores everything. If you put crows along a loop and the survivor leaves it then yes that crow is countered.

But hold w players still run with a plan. They are going to the next strongest loop near. If you place a crow in that line you still can shoot them down.

I think when we are going to get really good artist that mindlessly running away from a loop is still going to result in getting crowed
