Not a fix for the game.
Why should I take a break? Why can't I have fun as a killer in this event? Where's the killer mechanics that I have some participation in this event? Why are all the things added in this game besides cosmetics are all Survivor interactions including winter party streamers? Where's my winter related offering/add on?
Oh just deal with it big brain.
If you are getting this upset about a limited time event where the advantage given can be partially or completly negated by several killers then it's pretty fricking clear why you should take a break.
From the looks of it you needed one months ago

You do realize you do need to escape to get the cosmetic right? You dont get it for just having the sparkles.
This is false.
Escaping is not needed
-
Everybody knows dragon ball: breakers is going to kill dbd anyway
-
Change your attitude.
That's a fix
Or take a break for 2 weeks, you clearly need it.
The game can be played ultra competitive the other 50 weeks of the year.
This is 2 weeks for those who like it silly. Deal with it.

Interesting thing about this, that doesn't match my experience, since a Survivor didn't lose a health state, just the snowman.
Really?
I seem to remember a healthy survivor jumping in a snowman and me hitting 6 knives into a mellee hit and downing them.
Maybe they had lucky break and iron will and i didn't notice they were injured.
Still though, 6 knives pops the snowman and a fraction of a second later you can swing

"If your playing pig then winning isn't to high on your priority list i would say."
Incorrect. I just wish to do so using the character I am drawn to the most.
"But if winning is all you care about then yes. Just like the old halloween event with the flowers was a bad time to play survivor"
Yep, that was also an issue back then.
Have you tried stbfl?
I wonder if you get extra tokens for hitting snowman

So what you're saying is that this is a bad time to play Pig.
If your playing pig then winning isn't to high on your priority list i would say.
But if winning is all you care about then yes. Just like the old halloween event with the flowers was a bad time to play survivor

I play Pig. What do I do?
Spin around the snowman 3 times before hitting it. Counterclockwise
Or crouch down and wait for the snowman to boop.
-
Bloodwarden is mostly for fun.
Sure it fails 9 times out of 10.
But that 1 time it doesn't? Priceless
-
It's official
People playing this game hate fun.
Next time a survivor jumps in a snowman, dance with them. Maybe the whole gang will join and you can have a conga line.
It's 2 weeks where you don't have to take the game seriously. Enjoy it
-
I played 3 matches so far
First match doctor, shock pops snowman attack afterwards is pretty much instant
Second match trickster, You can still throw knives at them and they take damage when the laceration is full
Third match trapper, faked placing a trap under their feet and hit them when they came out
All 3 methods deny the cosmetic
So yeah survivors can complain too
It's an event for fun. You people can endure having some harder matches for a couple of weeks. next time a survivor jumps in a snowman. Dance with them, Twirl around them.
-
Play trapper
You can fake placing a trap at their feet, and when they jump out get a free hit
I've played 3 matched and found 3 ways to not only deny the cosmetic but also to turn their so called safe haven into a death trap
I don't think killers need to complain about this one
-
Play trickster
The snowman doesn't pop untill the laceration bar is full and it still damages the survivors
-
Yeah found out the hard way it doesn't actually give you the cosmetic if you shock them instead of hitting them
-
Play doctor
His shock attack pops the snowman and you can attack pretty much instantly after it
-
Most likely a hacker
There is a recent video (forgot who though lol) of a streamer noticing somebody opening the doors after it only beeped twice. It usually beeps more.
You faced the worst hackers of all. The subtle ones
-
Playing chicken with the killer at the exit gate.
I will stand at the line where if the killer downs me i escape and just stare at them.
I have died this way.
Multiple times
-
I think shadowstep is fine. It's a pretty strong effect but footsteps are still a thing and if you are injured you still leave a trail of blood.
Especially since the last patch juking became a lot harder. Played a match vs shadow step on rpd today and i was able to track the survivors no problem thanks to their footsteps.
It's kinda insane how much it has improved
-
Bruh.
God forbid people not playing like their lifes depend on it for a couple of matches

She literally forces you away from loops because if you stay, she'll force you into an M1 or her Crow. And she can just do that over and over again, so your only real option is to hold "W". That just screams Anti-Loop killer because she prevents you from looping her.
I'm guessing that you mean Phead as Pyramid Head. And I honestly wouldn't really call him an Anti-Loop killer. I guess he has a little bit anti-loop in his kit, but he's just really oppressive in chases. He doesn't force you away from the loop at all. And if you play safe and smart, he will struggle, even a good one. That does not work against a good Artist.
See forcing you away from tiles isn't anti looping in my book. You didn't stop the looping you just moved it to another tile. Chain looping is still looping.
A anti looper is a killer that can hit you in the loop and doesn't slow itself down enough to make running to another tile a feasable option
Would you concider trapper, hag or pig anti loop killers? Cause they also can use their power to force you to leave the tile.
-
@Kira4Evr said:
I don't play her because I haven't gotten her Adept yet. I'm waiting for the rank reset. But I probably still won't play her because she's just another Anti-Loop killer, and those are incredibly boring IMO
She isn't a anti-loop killer
She can shut a loop down simular to how trapper can by trapping the pallet but you slow down so much by doing this the survivor can make it to another loop 9/10 times.
Real anti loop killers like Phead don't slow down as much when faking their power. If you are at a loop with Phead then the only way you make it to the next loop is if you stun him or he misses his attack. Trying to run after he faked his power will most likely result in a m1.
With the artist you slow down so much that even faking your power most of the time won't give you a hit.
I don't quite know what kind of killer she is but playing her anti loop is like playing trapper and only trapping loops when in chase.
It really doesn't work
-
I don't really understand why people are calling her a anti-loop killer.
She really isn't. She has the same anti-loop properties as a trapper. You can place your power at a loop to shut it down but the time it takes to do that allows the survivor to go to another loop.
I would even say trapper has better antiloop as he doesn't slow down as much when faking his power.
I haven't found an effective playstyle yet but using her as a antiloop just doesn't work if the survivors know what they are doing.
-
I miss it too.
Hiding traps in the rubble was fun.
-
Key nerf was bassicly exactly as people asked for
-
The entity actually excist and feeds of our, as in the players, frustrations.
-
I'm excited for it.
I like how who is the hunter and who is the prey is really dynamic.
Not going to bother with the beta though going to wait for release.
-
If i spot a blendette or other hiding survivor i will walk past her pretending i haven't seen her to then stop and slooowly turn around. To then stare at her for 5 seconds. If she hasen't moved i walk away.
Trap downed survivors as trapper. Most of the time it obviously doesn't do anything as they can crawl away but sometimes you get these jokester survivors that play along or happen to be afk for a bit and hide the trap with their body. Really funny to me if it works and traps the person that was going to pick them up
-
T-bagging can be incredebilly frustrating and humiliating. I agree with that.
Thing is that it's in human nature to cause eachother suffering. Especially if they can do it anonymously.
There is no escaping this and there is nothing you can do to stop it. We are just wired this way.
We need to set boundaries for what's right and what's wrong to still be able to survive but you need to build up some mental fortitude. You can't fully stop people from hurting eachother.
If t-bagging really triggers you so much you need to find a way to process and deal with it. Cause you will have a mental breakdown if something actual serious happens.
Much like having to eat healthier if your immune system is failing. Diseases won't hold back if you are struggling with your health. The natural toxic human behaviour won't either. So you need to find a way to shield yourself from that danger. Cause it won't go away on it's own
-
I don't know about the skill floor and skill ceiling being the same chief.
There is a world of difference between a good trickster and a bad one.
Biggest reason is probably by how unplayable he is on console. People will still play characters they like no matter how bad they are.
And while with mouse and keyboard you atleast have a chance against the avarage survivor. He is so unsuited for controller that survivors really need to throw to do bad against him

Its an extremely good perk, but when Dead Hard is better and you can't really run more than one exhaustion perk, what's the point?
It's an okay perk.
It's extremely good in the picture perfect scenario.
It's pretty good in favorable scenarios
It does absolutly nothing in worst case scenarios and those worst cases are not uncommon.
In a world where dead hard doesn't exist people would take this perk. That's true.

Because works against 1 killer well? hmm i guess trapper, pig, hag, nemesis, phead, oni, clown, freddy, myers, doctor, plague, legion, ghost face, and demo count as 1 killer right?
Did you really list plague and legion as killers who can't deal with this perk?
It does nothing vs plague unless you decide to keep giving her the best ranged power in the game.
Legion Feral Frenzy resets on injuring. The extra distance overcome makes is gone in a couple of seconds.
also trapper, oni, myers and ghostface can make this perk never trigger at all with their power
-
@M1MASTER said:
And who said it was gonna be better than Dead Hard exactly?
It's debatable what the best exhaustion perk is, but Overcome is an objectively good perk. There's no argument to be made for calling it bad.
Haven't been on the forums during and slightly after the ptb. Quite a few said it was going to beat dead hard and sprint burst.
To make it clear i don't think Overcome is bad per se. It's better then i though, I was pretty convinced it was the worst exhaustion perk. It isn't
But it's nowhere near as good as a lot of the community thought. Just calling out that you need to think of not only the best case scenario but also the bad case scenario. And not just trust a video of somebody showing how strong this perk is vs a powerless m1 killer on the best holdw map midwich. The community is just very bad at judging perks. Myself included to be honest

I'm definitely going to continue to run it. It's fun to use.
Yes i can 100% see that it can be a fun perk to use and i'm not saying you can't have good results with it.
But from what you read on the forums this perk was going to be run every game on every survivor and killer gameplay would be impossible as they would just dissapear and insta heal at their boon totem and it was going to completly destroy any semblence of balance left.
4 times
In a week since it release i saw this perk 4 times
2 of them were adept achievement hunters
-
It would have to be quite a bit of time to build them then cause most breakable walls are there to break near infinites.
I can't imagine playing ironworks of misery and having that one breakable wall rebuild constantly

Pentimento has a few oversights.
It also doesn't work correctly with Thrill

Legion.
Very underrated. They obviously have issues but being a noob stomper killer in a game where 80% of players are conciddert noobs isn't that bad

So we don't reverse engineer how it works i guess

I say this half jokingly, but does the heal speed even matter anymore with the current heal meta?
It shaves of about 1 second of healing others in the boons area, slightly more
It shaves of 4 seconds healing people outside of the totems area
Also speeds up unhooking speed which is the difference between them having to trade when unhooking unsafely or them being able to dead hard away.
I say it still matters, especially seeing how little Dying Light gives in return
-
Jokes on you.
I've never been proud of anything in my life.
-
I probably would have humored them.
Wouldn't even have been mad if they grabbed me last second.

Dead Lock I presume.
That build looks pretty interesting, as all those 4 perks are good on their own. I myself am partial towards No Way Out and Fearmonger.
Dead lock ofcourse. I completly forget about that perk so often
-
DL? As in Dying Light? I'm sorry but dying light is not preventing any gens in your first chase. You're probably talking about a different perk but i can't think of anything that fits.
Edit: nvm, realised you probably meant corrupt preventing the gens in your first chase

I may not play him as often as some of the other killers, but I still enjoy playing him. He's an excellent time waster, which is an ability which it's power shouldn't be taken lightly. And while he's just an m1 killer after that first hit, being able to get downs with him just gives you a feeling of "hell you, my chasing fundamentals and mind games are pretty solid".
The most satisfying part of Legion is knowing you really deserved most of your downs.
Outside of getting a 7 combo Frenzy ofcourse. That's slightly more satisfying
