Pentimento is allright but it really needs a build dedicated to it.
I have had good succes with ruin, undying, thrill and pentimento on legion.
Thrill stops any booners so they have to cleanse totems
Otherwise hex plaything and pentimento also work well together

Damn this post just exploded with wholesomeness

I'm on EU with crossplay off btw.
No, it has nothing to do with a "shortage" of killers, that's what they try to make you believe to add to their sob story.
Pretty much this.
Extremly long queues are often because matchmaking bugs too
Most of my queues are under a minute and which one takes longer depends on the time of day.
So unless the shortage of killers is purely in america, a sob story is all it is

These are so flipping adorable

I prefer Legion by a long shot but they and slinger are so different you can't really say one is better for you then the other.

The "best" Clown player in the forum without seeing a gameplay
He litterally had a youtube channel.
He just never shared it cause he knew the only response he would get was "those survivors were just bad, this doesn't prove anything"
Seems to be taken down now so i guess that kinda confirms he quit dbd entirely

Hex: thrill is pretty underrated. People kinda wrote it off after it lost it's notification but it slows cleansing and blessing by quite a lot. Nobody is going to bless a hex with thrill up without throwing the game in the process
Honorable mention to Dark Devotion. Not really underrated in terms of power but very underrated in terms of fun. You can do some fun mindshenanigans with this perk.
For survivor windows of oppertunity, kindred and just aura reading perks in general. Too many solo's just copy paste the meta and go down easy cause they don't have the experience to support it. If you are not good at looping then windows will buy you way more time then a DS would.
Even "bad" ones like visionary should be run more often. Too often you get hooked after a long chase just to see everybody derping around doing nothing. If those people ran visionary even just for the reminder of "hey, you should be doing gens" a lot of solo games wouldn't be so depressing

I don't know either of those people personally sadly.
Buttercake was banned by a unfortunate post about freddy's map
I have no idea what happened to ClownisKing. He sorta just vanished as twin mains tend to do

It depends on the time of day i play.
I've had 5 minute survivor queues and insta killer queues to then change to 5 minute killer queues and instant survivor ones a hour later.
People often say use it to fill their narative of killer being miserable but atleast in my regio this just isn't the case.
Also depends on updates. When the artist came out i had about a week of 10-15 minute survivor queues that then someday changed to instant.
There are most likely still matchmaking bugs out there
-
Yeah the succesfull hit cooldown seems to trigger quite often to unsuccesfull hits.
Somebody should change that

That's the best gif i have seen today

Im getting bp from matches and tomes, not from rank reset
I'm not a 100% if this is how it works but i suspect that if you are given bp for any reason it ups the cap untill you go below a million again.
Don't quote me on this but i suspect it works like that. Once you go below a million it should cap at that point again. In theory

Hillbilly is still good. The main thing which sucks about him is the FoV and the Animations. Because he feels very janky because of it. Also his Add Ons are more on the bad side, which is not even the worst, since he does not really need Add Ons to begin with. But doing Bloodwebs on him feels like a waste (almost as much as doing Survivor Bloodwebs, lel).
Overheat is barely noticeable. You have to fail A LOT to actually Overheat and at this point, it is deserved.
That's kinda my biggest issue with overheat.
Sure good billy's will barelly notice it.
But people who are learning billy will fail a lot. It is contributing to people not wanting to play him by making an already difficult killer to learn even harder.

Didn't know about some of these details yet, esp. hitting snowman in the face. Need to test that.
But it won't change the fact, that in past events BOTH sides got something (besides the cosmetics).
Or can you tell any benefits from snowman when playing against good survivors, who know how to use them?
That's what i meant when i said "first surv-sided event".
I do agree there really should have been more interaction for the killer.
Having the killer jump in a snowman and survivors being unsure if a killer or survivor is waggling towards them seems to be such an obvious inclusion but it's just not there
-
It's kinda meh.
But if you like sloppy butcher and you play a m2 killer you could concider it.
Just don't expect big miracles out of it
-
I like playing Billy from time to time cause i like the character.
I'm absolutly terrible at him so i mostly meme around. I think he can still be strong if you are really good at him but unless you really like the character i feel you're better of learning other killers who are easier to learn and give bigger benifit faster

Welp as someone who plays Legion often i don't like to admit it but i do understand why.
Imagine you boot up a game of DbD ready to engage in fun chases. The killer finds you, you are all set. And then they hit you and run away.
You spend some time mending and go back to gens while the killer downs someone. Next time the killer finds you they stab you and run away again. Bassicly using you for finding the other people they already downed so they can get people out of the game.
And that's the interaction untill the gens are done or some survivors are dead and you are finally worth their time.
If you are a person that likes chases, it's pretty clear why you would not like this match.

Strength wise could use some tweaking. Base is arguably the worst in the game. While tombstone is straight up busted

I think the idea is that instead of getting your power yourself you allow the survivors to choose when you get it by cleansing at all fountains.
So you can keep doing other things and not have to stop pressure to go get your power.
It's just not that good of an idea. Giving more control to survivor of a power that's already in control of them seems iffy

So are you going to gloss over the fact that snowmen eat STBFL stacks if it's the obsession..? Without them taking a health state ? That's not a problem to you ? Free health states in general is not a problem to you ? Sure ok then
Why are you chasing your obsession when you have stbfl? Especially so if they are derping in a snowman instead of actually doing something usefull. You also gain extra stacks if you hit non obsessions in the snowman. You misplaying your perks is not a design flaw
The snowman rarely are a free healthstate to me. A small delay at best most of the time. Other times i'm able to hit the survivor before they make it in the snowman where they perfectly could have made it to a pallet if they wanted to.
Sorry but to me it seems to be the usual overexaguration this forum tends to do. Simular to how grossly overpowered overcome would be only to dissapear a week after release.
If this was a permanent feature then yes i would be against them. For a temporary event? No, just no.
I enjoyed coming up with countermeasures for this so called extra health state. Thinking about how to beat it was the most fun i had in the last couple of months
Killers had a killersided event with the flower harvesting event that gave survivors extra things to do buying killers time. Now it's an event more in favour of the survivors.
Beats the non-events we had for a while by a long shot. The only complaint i have is that there could have been more interaction with snowman for the killer

To explain better: the snowman gives a survivor a kind of "false" health state (apparently labeled the "disguised" health state? That's my best guess from the points you get from it) above healthy--they can take an extra basic attack so long as they aren't mid-animation.
However, a hit while you are exposed will almost always put a survivor in the dying state; in the case of the snowmen, it puts the survivor from the disguised state into the dying state.
So, yeah, it's probably not explained well in the event description.
Edit: Website ate my formatting--fixed now.
Wait exposed status beats snowman?
That can't be right. Why are all the ghostfaces complaining that snowman are eating their marks then?

Wanna know what the Snowmen can do to avoid Trapper?
Move.
You'd think so but i haven't seen a single one do so.
They either stand there stupified or instantly jump out so i can cancel the trap and hit them.
Sometimes you can trick them by putting it in front of them and make them jump into it when they jump out.
I have had little to no issues with snowman. And i really wonder if people who complain about them have too. Most likely they've seen that youtube clip of the bad huntress and screamed bloody murder without actually encountering it themself.
IMO the only killers that really get screwed over is ghostface and twins. If those are your mains you are 100% valid to complain.
Twin mains are 100% valid to complain no matter what tbh

If you are playing enough to get to Iri 1, your MMR will go up by default. Yes you can't lose a grade, but you can lose pips. You still have to pip and not depip to get there. Chances are that if you are playing that much, you are getting kills. Kills is what determines your MMR, not skill. If you did nothing all match and got a 4k in the EGC with NOED, guess what? Your MMR will still go up lol. Nothing in this game truly measures skill. The game measures kills, escapes, and time played. Not sure why people are so caught up on Grades vs MMR. It makes no actual difference in reality. Get kills/escapes and you'll generally face competition who get kills/escapes at around the same rate. Doesn't mean the quality of said competition will be reflected in their grades or MMR.
Again not nececarilly true.
With killers like legion you can get to gold or something without killing a single survivor.
It isn't untill iri that you need 13 emblems to pip. Up untill then you can get nothing in devout and still pip. You can even get merciless without killing a survivor in the early grades.
And even without that. If you have somebody who plays 25 matches a day. Doesn't kill a single survivor in 20 matches but is able to pip the other 5 matches in a row they go up in grade. If they do that 20 days out of the month they reach iri 1.
Mmr indeed doesn't measure your skill. But the skill your opponents need to be. If you get a 4k purely thanks to noed in the end game you should face stronger survivors who can deal with that. It's a good thing your mmr increases in that scenario
-
@SOULWARRIOR71K said:
I actually disagree with this notion when it comes to killer. MMR is based on kills and escapes. For killer, the only way to pip is to get kills. The more kills you get in a match, the more likely you are to pip. The more often you are pipping, the more likely your mmr is also going up since pipping and increasing MMR have basically the same requirement…. kills not skills. Grade isn’t looked at when choosing who to match you up with, but it does give insight into your ability to get kills and how often you play in a given month.
If you double pip often it's possible to get to iri 1 in below 50 matches that's less then 2 matches a day.
On the other hand grades can't downgrade anymore. So if you play 20 matches a day but only advance 1 grade at a time then you'll still reach iri 1 20 days after reset.
It's clear which one of these is better. But they still both reached iri 1
High mmr killers are indeed likely going to reach iri faster.
But being iri doesn't always mean you're good. You can play horrible and still get there by making it up in gametime

So i only need a perk to play how i would normally any other time?
It works well without the perk too. The perk just enhances it further.
I have very little issues with snowman
And i mostly play Legion, one of the killers that should be more affected then others with the deep wound being removed by jumping in one.

So 1/4 of the killer roster has some "counterplay"
The rest can just suck eggs?
All killers can hit the snowman in the face to severely reduce the distance the survivor makes. Add stbfl to that and they won't make any pallet they wouldn't have made anyway.
-
@Katzengott said:
As i said before, this is actually the first survivor-sided event, at least in high MMR.
Survivors can just use them to tank hits / bodyblock. And besides Bubba and Trickster, all other killers can't do anything about it.
Doctor can shock them
Deathslinger shoots right through it
Clown can throw a bottle at it
Trapper can trap the snowman forcing them out
All killers can hit the snowman in the face to severely reduce the distance the survivor makes. Add stbfl to that and they won't make any pallet they wouldn't have made anyway.
Huntress hatchets into m1 especially after hitting snowman in the face also ensures they barely make any distance
You need to be a good distance away cause you can get hit during the jump animation
They can be annoying but they are far from insurmountable
Ghostface is one of the only killers that gets really screwed by the snowman.
Twins get screwed in general

The game director.
This is old news and it's only being brought up as a joke, but his statement was trash and shouldn't be defended.
Saying people "hate" the game for criticizing it, they should "get a life" and "go play something else".
This is what you people sound like
exactly someone who didn't understand what he was saying and is just twisting it in something negative.
He did not say "if you hate the game so much play something else"
What he said was that if you're frustrated, playing something else for like a week can help.
Which is 100% true. That's not even fanboying. It really should be common sense.
If you are warming your hands on a fire and you get too close to the point of burning yourself you'll also pull your hand away for a bit instead of pushing it deeper in the fire.

Sloppy is a relatively good chase/"Hit and Run" tracking perk because of its massively empowered hemorrhage(100% faster then normal hemorrhage) causing a near perfect blood trail leading to survivors.
So while its healing debuff was the main reason to run it the empowered bleeding shouldn't be ignored which has been heavily mitigated due to CoH.
That's true.
Playing sloppy and bloodhound in the past was just funny.
Just a giant trail of glowing jelly behind them

Here's my question: Are you playing this game in moderation because you are the sort of person who eventually gets frustrated over time, or are you playing this game in moderation because playing this game for too long causes the issues of the game to pile up the frustration?
Well i am playing the game in moderation because of my low attention span but i get what you are saying.
I'm not denying the game is frustrating. Cause it is. It's specifically designed to get tense moments. You always barelly get hit or barelly don't get the hit. Mistakes are punished harshly. Bad first chase as killer is usually an autoloss. Bad chase as survivor and you always have the chance of getting camped or farmed by teammates and not have a game at all.
But when you ask people who are superfrustrated you often hear stories of having 4 hour gaming sessions and already raging 30 minutes in. Then is it really a surprise they get frustrated?
I have played a lot of frustrating games in the past and i've found that after taking a break after a frustrating event is really important. Even a 15 minute break of doing anything else after a bad match can make so much difference.
If you are frustrated you will make mistakes. Those mistakes will make you more frustrated. It's a self-feeding cycle
-
I don't really understand why people are saying this.
Before Coh people didn't heal. They stayed injured so sloppy bassicly did nothing.
Now they do heal and take 4 seconds longer per self heal if you apply.
I would argue that it's better then before cause it's actually has a effect now.
-
Mathieu is an absolute legend
He was right. Play this game in moderation and it's not nearly the stressfull experience people are saying it is.
Most of the frustrations in this game are self-induced. Fueled by buildup frustrations of all the games before.
It's just general good advice in general. Our brains need time to progress things. A lot of the times the best solutions to a problem is to just step away from it a bit and let it simmer.
-
There is only one reasonable solution to this.

Either way, it's still nowhere near as much time spent as what you'll save with Circle of Healing.
Idk man. That's 35% of a gen that wasen't done.
Also noted that it's uninterupted time. Killer chases you off? Doctor shocks you with static blast from halfway across the map? you scream because of infectious fright? Start over.
It's not a 100% deterent but it's not a clear cut "it's always worth it" either.
Throw in Thrill in this build and it's straight up never worth it to bless the hex
