Can you imagine if this was real?
Ok i can hook the survivor in the middle of my 3 gen. But i might get banned by hovering around it so let me find another hook. Cause choosing that hook might ban me.
Ok survivor got unhooked let's go for the unhooker. Ow no the previously hooked one is bodyblocking and i can't hit them cause i might get banned.
I get it, actually being camped and tunneled sucks. But both concepts are so vague and so many people are using them as excuses for their own bad play means it would be a complete mess trying to ban people for it.

Yeah, I don't understand why Toy Sword got nerfed, like out of all things to nerf, they choose that? lol
I don't understand it either. The nerf is so insignificant too. Like 0.05 seconds of charge time nerf. That's never going to matter.
It's like they are just memeing about nerfing twins at this point

I was told this yesterday. I am sure when the PTB also has nothing, I'll be told to wait until live. lol
Well eventually it will be right. Unless it never happens ofcourse
You can probably skip live and go straight to waiting untill the next chapter though

Well, since they basically only did number changes this patch, I was hoping they could have at least decreased the Fatigue to 3 seconds.
Is it really that hard?
I would be on board for that.
Not entirelly out of the picture yet if you want to be hopefull
-
Somebody who complains about being camped when all gens are done is not thinking rationally.
There are no other objectives left to defend and the gates being what they are means that further hunting is mostly pointless
-
A couple of cosmetics, no matter how cool they were, is not worth having actual people being harrased over.
It's sad that it had to happen but i can't really disagree with it
-
Not all changes were in the developer update so hold on to that dissapointment untill tomorrow.
Probably won't be Legion or Ghostface changes as that seems something that would have been in there.
Honestly relieved, was getting ptsd flashbacks of old freddy. I'd rather keep the legion weak then for them to be deleted and replaced by a more boring version
-
If you have a keen eye you can actually see the difference in speed from devour 2 stacks.
Having heads up of the potential 3th stack is pretty helpfull

I can think of a couple of main buildings that this will be pretty decent in tbh.
Ironworks of misery comes to mind
Boil over most likely will still be viseble on the hud to the killer so you know it's in play

Sad it had to happen.
But understandable.
No point in giving these kind of people more ammunition, even if it wasen't intended that way

You literally didn't played against 4 man SWF against this perk with flip flop and unbreakable. They down themselves under the pallet and the other survivor is pressuring you, wasting your time to activate power struggle and the survivor pressuring you also has power struggle and is under the pallet and the process repeats again.
It really isn't that bad. using 3 perks to deny a hook state but not the pressure after you picked yourself up once is not worth it. Just slug them and chase the survivor backing them up and they will have used 3 perks to use unbreakable once
And even if it was in that scenario they would have reached the old threshold anyway so the buff doesn't really matter.
You can't pick up the survivor cause another is pressuring you so whether the threshold is 15% or 25% is irrelevant pretty much all of the time
without unbreakable it right now takes 16 seconds to activate flip flop enough to trigger power struggle, after the change 9.6 seconds
With unbreakable it right now takes ~12 seconds, after the change ~7 seconds
In how many scenario's are you that you can't pick a survivor up instantly for 7 seconds but you can between 7 and 12 seconds
The only thing this change does is that it maybe can be used once in a while without flip flop if the killer isn't paying attention

I don't. It tastes and smells like feet.
Don't ask me why I know what feet taste like, that's none of your business! 😡
Saying swiss cheese tastes like feet is an insult to the feet
-
Funny thing is that the ideal way to play grim embrace now is still to semi tunnel, nothing states all survivors need to be alive when it triggers
Hook survivor 1, then 2, then 1 again, then 3, then kill 1 and then hook 4 while making sure survivor 2 or 3 is the obsession
In a lot of games this is the point where gens are about to get done resulting in a 2 escape or 3 escape with some bt/ds shenanigans
Grim embrace locks it down and gives you an aura so you have some time to create pressure that 3 survivors can't deal with anymore.
Using it like that it's honestly not bad

You know, it would be more helpful of you to inform the wiki people directly if something is outdated on there for a next occurrence, instead of just calling them liars in every post you make.
It would have been yes.
Sadly i didn't know if it was intended to be 28 seconds seeing how the dev post itself said 24 seconds.
No point in asking them to update the wiki for what could have been a bug that got fixed the next patch.
The only reason i added that "wiki lied" thing is cause i know i would get a bunch of people that would reply to me quoting the wiki instead of actually testing it themself.
No need to take it personal
I'll keep it in mind the next time i spot a mistake

Anything to have fun because playing killer the “right” way is anything but fun.I just want to waste as much survivor time as possible while giving them the least amount of bp .
Oof don't know about that chief.
That sounds a bit extreme to me. I think if you reach that point you'd be better of playing a completly different game entirely.
Don't think having that kind of mindset is going to be healthy in the long run

So, in all honesty... all of this does look pretty good but none of it was what I was hoping to see.
Does the patching system they currently have need work. Yes. Am I glad they're fixing it? Yes. Was that what I wanted to see? No. I wanted to see gameplay related stuff. Even though the patching system is bad, you don't need to interact with it very often and never directly.
Does SBMMR need work? Yes, honestly it needs to be replaced. However, I usually play DbD at night Eastern Time when SBMMR goes on holiday in favor of not making queues terrible so... this probably won't actually affect me much.
Is them buffing Solo Survivors a good thing? Yes. However, I literally never play solo Survivor so... I don't really care.
Is that beta tab system cool? Yep. However, this does kinda feel like it'll mostly get used to test UI/input changes so... cool but eh.
Is the new system for wiggling better? I mean... probably? But... I personally didn't have any issues with how wiggling works.
At the moment I'm just sitting here hoping that part 2 has actual gameplay changes that are coming and isn't also disappointing.
There is a ptb tomorrow so it'a highly likely there are going to be some gameplay changes.
Would be weird to have a ptb if nothing drastic changed
-
I found a pretty fun meme build on bubba lately.
Speed limiter and insidious, the rest is up for choice.
When you down a survivor camp them, but don't commit to it. Meaning if somebody comes for the unhook you just stare at them. When the survivor i'm camping goes second stage i leave and don't bother them for the rest of the match.
Only did it a couple of times but so far Davids are the biggest daredevils. They will look me right in the eye before unhooking.
Nancy's are the biggest scaredy cats. They will leave and never go back if they see the slightest bit of me
Don't know why but seeing the survivors reaction to me not doing anything when they unhook is pretty funny

First its 24 seconds and at a 50% increase would make it 36 your thinking of a 100% increase.
It takes 14 seconds to bless a boon that anyone on the team can use to remove pressure that the killer had. It's not like everytime someone wants to heal at a boon it needs to be reblessed that's where the problem is if one person spends 14 seconds blessing a totem the rest of the team can use it by themselves to reverse the pressure as many times as they want untell the killer temporary removes it.
It's 28 seconds, the wiki is even correct now
and i guess bolding it in my original comment didn't help so let me make it even more clear
50% speed penalty
Not increased totem times, but slowing survivors down. Slowing something down by 50% is the equivalant to increasing it's time by 100%
And 28/0.5= 56 seconds
Just look at selfcare, it also adds a 50% slowdown to healing. And if a normal heal takes 16 seconds how long does selfcare take then? 24 or 32 seconds
How is it that with self care everybody just accepted this but with thrill everybody gets it wrong
-
we want to be as transparent as possible when it comes to SBMM

Are you sure it is 28 seconds? BHVR themselves said it was 24 unless I'm misremembering.
Even so, like you said it is HUGE slowdown if they want to bless, running anti boon stuff either means they will stick to gens instead of doing boons but your hexes stay up, they will do boons and give you a huge advantage, or they will cleanse and you lose your hexes but they still waste loads of time and if you have pentimento you get value.
People act like killer has no control with killer can realistically put survivors into a lot of lose lose situations.
Last time i checked it was anyway.
Don't have friends that play this game so i can't check it myself but i'm pretty sure it still 28 seconds
If someone could double check it, it would be pretty nice tbh
-
You still play on the normal servers when you use beta's right?
I would assume so
-
@Lochnload_exe said:

Yeah but if they want to bless over a hex, it takes 24 seconds. Combine with thrill and even if they get rid of thrill first, that blessing takes 36 seconds.
Also again loads of builds incentivise cleansing instead of blessing. If you have penti and something else but they aren't ever cleansing, may as well count that as penti doing something, they are wasting time doing so many boons or blessing hexes. If you just run pentimento and nothing else, don't know why it is surprising they aren't cleansing. If boons didn't exist, they wouldn't cleanse either. Atleast with boons they are doing SOMETHING else other than gens.
Blessing a hex normally takes 28 seconds (wiki lies)
Thrill has a 50% speed penalty so kt doesn't add time to totems but slows survivors cleansing them down
Which means that blessing a hex with thrill at 5 stacks takes 56 seconds.
So yes thrill extremly discourages blessing hexes
-
Og freddy.
With some slight adjustments
-
Personally i never had much issue with it.
It's overtuned and should be nerfed a bit (coh, not boons in general)
I do think it's a bit overexagurated.
It's busted, but not busted to the point of unplayable against it
-
@Lochnload_exe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2727112#Comment_2727112
I totally agree, it makes no sense to be a hex lol
It's worse as a non hex 9 times out of 10. It being a "dummy" hex is part of the slowdown of the perk.
With normal hexes, thrill not being a hex wastes a lot less time then it being a hex.
Only time this doesn't apply is hex:plaything and pentimento cause they can appear after thrill is gone
-
Both excitted and dreadfull for potential Legion changes.
-
Dead hard on survivors side
For killers i'm going to call out something crazy and say the new scourge hook: pain resonance
Good regression, decent intel, no cooldown(!) And all for the cost of being slightly rng dependant but so far in my experience it really doesn't happen often that it screws you hard.
Best part of all is that you get all that while mostly just going about your bussines.
No need to kick a gen or otherwise jump through tons of hoops. Just carrying the survivor a bit further then you usually would and it's just constant vallue
-
Poor One
You're going to get a lot of the bitter part of the bittersweet you were talking about.
The progression system in a nutshell indeed is pretty good. Every game is progress, nothing is ever taken away, everything is moving forward. You're not wrong about that.
It's just that the amount of progress vs to total amount you need is a bit off. And with a bit i mean a ton.

Either Corrupt/Deadlock base or longer base gen times. It's either/or. Otherwise they'll keep flying.
Gen times aren't the problem. Once a killer gets their momentum ball rolling gen progress grinds to a halt.
The problem is that getting that ball rolling is too difficult thanks to map design, spawns and other reasons.
Killers need faster ways to apply pressure or survivors need less ways to deny/remove the killers pressure.
Adding to gen times just makes the game more boring for survivors and killers who can't generate pressure and get genrushed now will probably still get genrushed.
Unless you add such a rediculous amount so that anything that isn't gen rush is throwing the game

24 seconds to replace one of the killer's perks with their own is a pretty sweet deal, especially when the killer can't get their perk back, but the survivor can keep setting theirs indefinitely.
It's less time than cleansing the hex totem and then booning a dull totem would be individually, which is what it accomplishes. It definitely takes time, but I'd hardly call it wasted time.
The threat of blessing a hex instead of cleansing it is that if the killer isn't occupied, they may swing by and you lose all your time investment for nothing. If they are occupied, it's well worth doing (unless it's NOED or DH, which should be removed ASAP.)
28 seconds.
Wiki and that one dev post say 24 but it's actually 28 seconds

Nah, that's outdated information. That was a thing in the PTB, but in the live release, there's no option to bless a rekindled totem anymore.
Aah ok, i did not know that.
Thanks for telling me
-
@AngyKiller said:
Question; can survivors Bless Rekindled Totems? Because that would be dodging the end-effect of Penti and be yet more proof of how bad Boons are.
They can bless it, but the totem is still destroyed afterwards. All it does is taking extra time.
So they can bless it, but not boon it
-
You need to pair it with thrill, and preferably with a full hex build
If survivors spend close to a minute booning your hex perks then then you should win through the slowdown alone.
It's build around me perk. On it's own it's indeed not going to do much
-
One thing is for sure it would make her a whole lot more boring to play and vs.
The best way to enjoy this game is to just embrace the chaos
-

I do agree with Clown beeing good at chases but this is getting countered by pre dropping pallets. You can be the best Clown in the world but you will still not catch a survivors on a pre dropped save loop unless you blood lust.
Yes but forcing a slow vault in the gas clouds doesn't really help this problem.
If anything it would enforce it as doing anything else would just result in a hit no matter what
-
@humanbeing1704 said:

Should it would but the game would also be boring as hell
True.
Perfectly balanced does not equal a perfect game.
A lot of the fun in games comes from the chaos the variety brings.
The most excitting things in this game is overcoming the odds. A perfectly balances game would be boring as heck for me
-
Maybe on direct bottle hits but i don't think it's a good idea for it to be a part of the gasses slowdown.
Clown already makes a lot of tiles unsafe which causes survivors to not even bother looping and just throw and go them.
This would just encourage that more. His chase isn't the problem
Something like generators inside of the gas clouds start regressing and regress at ruin speed while the cloud last would help him so much more then making his already strong chase stronger but still susceptible to the throw and go playstyle that's used against clowns now

A hack like that does exist.
If you suspect it you can screw those people over by forcing them to dead hard past a pallet or into a window so they lose their fast vault if you time your swing correctly.
Hard to pull off but it is satisfying to use peoples hacks against them.
Still bs people can get away with things like this.
