  • I still don’t get why it even shows the gen aura to begin with. That’s giving too much information to the Survivors. They’re not supposed to know you’re coming or are in stealth.

Not easy for survivors though is it? Use NoED, Blood Warden, Rancor, all of which offer you a chance to get something out of endgame.

But at the end of the day if at least one survivor isn’t on death hook at endgame then you done something wrong as Killer. Also FYI as killer you shouldn’t have let all 5 gens get done.

PH & his cages was an issue, especially with camping. His power was not designed for camping cages. You still disable BT & DS among others as well as body blocking & flashlight saves.

Then again, not worth arguing with someone who is so blatantly killer sided when looking at their past posts.

Yes, it's easy for Survivors. NOED can be disabled before it has a chance to activate, Blood Warden can stopped by leaving the gates on 99%, and you still have to find and catch the Survivor with Rancor. The Survivor also sees your aura so they'll know where you're going.

So basically if all five gens get done, then I should let everyone escape and not even try to kill them at that point? Is that what you're trying to say? If so, then I won't do that. To me, the game isn't over until the last Survivor is either dead or has escaped.

  • Yeah, that's my biggest worry about this. Survivors have it so easy in the end game right now. I get that it's supposed to be harder for the Killer to win, but it shouldn't be a cakewalk for the Survivors. I wouldn't be surprised if Killers slowly start DCing or AFKing once the last gen is finished in the future just because how much is stacked against them.

Why? Then it would be useless. Killers shouldn't camp then. So since they wanna camp, it's a great counter. Fair. You're not entitled to a free kill at the end.

The gates open in 20 seconds and can't be regressed. Why should I waste my time trying to guard them? The Survivors will eventually get one door open. Hooking the Survivors is the only sensible thing left to do and it distracts Survivors from the gates. BT activating just gives them a free escape. The game isn't over at that point, it just means that the Survivors are closer to escaping.

Also, it would only be useless if you're one of those Survivors who tries to get featured on montages every day.

  • Anti-tunnel. An anti-momentum perk is a bad idea because the Killer shouldn't be punished for doing a good job.

Absolutely not. Imagine touching a gen and that deactivates your perk.

Just slug them for 60 seconds if you don't wanna eat their 5 second stun.

So you're fine with Survivors being invincible for 60 seconds? If they touch a gen immediately after being unhooked, then you're just defending your objective and they deserve to go back on the hook. DS shouldn't be an offensive perk and keep the Survivor completely safe like it currently does.

  • Deactivates when the Survivor interacts with something, another Survivor is hooked, or the gates are powered.

  • Survivors:

    • Claudette: I got a build I liked on her first. I want to switch to Laurie but I keep putting it off.

    Killers:

    • Doctor: I love everything about him. He was the reason I went from a free trial to the full game. Been playing him since 2017 and I don't plan on stopping!
    • Freddy: His rework is a lot of fun. I started playing him after it was announced and I actually liked him. When his rework dropped, I knew that I was going to love him after a few minutes into my first match.
    • Demogorgon: I love monsters, so seeing a monster Killer in the game was awesome.
    • Plague: At first I didn't like her, but after watching a lot of videos, she started to grow me to where I wanted to play her. I ended up really liking her. However, I might end up taking her off my list of mains. I don't know if it's just the Survivors or me not playing her for longer than normal, but her power seems to do barely anything for me now. I really don't want to stop playing her though.
    • Wraith: Watching a lot of Tru3 opened me up to him. At first I thought he was just a meh Killer that would struggle to get kills in high ranks, but I think I was wrong. He's a lot of fun.

I'm on the fence about Pyramid Head. He seems like he'd be a fun Killer to play, but I haven't seen or heard that many good things about Punishment of the Damned or being able to consistently Torment Survivors at high ranks. I remember going for his Adept and really struggling to consistently torment Survivors.

  • No. Exhaustion add-ons are fine. They do not need to be nerfed (in fact, I wouldn't mind seeing more of them). If you're relying on Exhaustion perks to win, then you need get good. Simple as that.

  • It's fine, just needs to not activate after the gates are powered.

  • It's because the Survivor is completely safe and it turns DS into an offensive weapon. You aren't tunneling if you stumble upon the Survivor and they jump into a locker. That's just bad luck and you deserve to be punished.

  • 140% extra BP, they’re common, and only cost 3,000 BP.

  • We can't, but the devs probably can in some way.

  • Survivor perk: Self-Care so I don't feel like I have to combo it with Botany

Killer perk: Enduring to have something to help with other stuns (plus the devs said they were going to buff it after increasing the stun from DS).

  • You think that's bad? Level 4 has the same challenge except you also have to escape.

I would like to know the thought process behind creating the challenges because it seems like they're being created for a different game. Do nothing for 60 seconds? Grab Survivors even though the mechanic is busted?

  • I think the Emblem system is designed around making sure everyone has fun instead of how well you perform. That's we have stupid features such as Killers being punished for using their power, killing people too quickly (not enough Chaser and Malicious), DCs punishing Killers, and the camping penalty (yes, there are situations where camping is a smart move, and the Emblem system will punish you for doing so).

  • And run all the way across the map only for my teammates to not heal me or I don't even find a teammate? Besides, I always run Botany Knowledge so I'm playing as if the healing nerf never happened. What else should I run? A full second chance build?

  • It would make playing Survivor boring. Two minute gen times being the norm would suck. A secondary objective or the early game mechanic (similar to EGC) the devs are creating would be a better idea.

  • What is this based off of? Strength? How well you play them? Thiccness?

Bubba has those four extra faces from hooking the OG Survivors. He can fit in the trashcan clothing tier at least.

Doctor belongs in the top tier because of his Hallowed Blight outfit. That is the best outfit in the game and one of the few that's worth the price.

  • You score points for the number of generators remaining in the trial at the end, if both gates are closed, and for the first nine minutes, you'll earn one point for each generator that hasn't been repaired.

It sounds like they got the first four gens off quickly and then Adam opened one of the gates.

  • The Entity wants it to be Christmas already.

  • All grabs have been broken for at least a year at this point.

No, you can only collect a single crown in-game and that's it (for that match). What I meant was that The Legion is rewarded two crowns due to their DLC coming out with two variants of the Killer, this being Frank and Julie.

This means that because The Legion technically has two default skins, they're given two crowns as a result.

I was talking about your Survivor video when you picked up the crown while already wearing one. I thought that you couldn’t pick them up if you already had one unless you got a crown in a previous game and then used it for future games (which is what I’m assuming happened).

  • Keep it at 140% and make it stack. 700% extra BP sounds amazing.

  • YES! I've been saying this for a long time. Very few skins are actually worth their asking price (which is the same as two to three new characters). Too many people are used to high-priced skins and now act like it's perfectly fine. If a cosmetic costs more than a brand new character, then it better be a damn good skin (unless it's licensed and the licensor intervenes and sets the price for a cosmetic).

  • I'm at tier 38. I'd be higher if TLOU2 hadn't come out and I devoted my time to completing it. I'm just going to only play DBD until the end of this Rift. I think I'll end up around tier 50. I actually can't wait to come back to DbD, I've been missing it even with its flaws.

  • I finished the game a few hours ago and I love it. Definitely going back for a second and maybe even a third playthrough.

After the Silent Hill chapter, We all can hope that someday Dead By Daylight gets the license for Last of us. I'm fine if it's a paragraph with Ellie and Joel as survivors and no killers.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

I wouldn't mind seeing an Infected as the Killer, the new Rat King Infected from the ground zero hospital could work, although it would need some changes, unless we want a big blob of Infected running around the Fog.

  • Very few, if any skins in the shop are worth $10. Lisa is not worth $15. That’s the price of THREE characters!

  • I think it's because he's strong and not very hard to play.

The gens only take an extra 12.6 seconds to complete with everyone affected by Thana. That's not a lot of time saved. It'll take her well over 10 seconds to catch up to a survivor who sprint bursted away. The extra time you get from thana really doesn't do much at all, and she has better perks. And say survivors do cleanse, the ones who know what they're doing will use a fountain in a dead zone or across the map where there are no gens, so to get your power you'd need to spend so much time hauling ass across the entire map and lose all pressure just to get a power that ultimately isn't even that good if survivors aren't grouped up.

Those 12.6 seconds can be the deciding factor in a game like DbD. Even two seconds can have a huge impact on games. If all four Survivors want to cleanse, there's no way they'll all be on the other side of the map away from the gens. You get one corrupted pool for free at the start, which can help force Survivors to cleanse close to you.

Thana's healing penalty will come into play when using your basic attack would be a better idea than using your power, which is going to happen quite a bit.

  • I'd like for them to be inverted too (I'll put up with the noise spam for a stronger perk) but that's unlikely to happen at this point. I think one of these suggestions could work out for both sides.

    • We get a new perk that gives tier 1 or tier 3 Discordance's effect.
    • Discordance gets a secondary effect and have the current one last 10 seconds across all tiers (so brokedownpalace's idea)
    • You only get a noise notification if you're looking in the gen's direction.
    • No noise notification. All you'll get is the perk lighting up and the yellow gen aura
  • Shred can help Demogorgon end chases and the portals give it more mobility, but it makes way too much noise (basically tells the Survivors what you're doing and lowers the effectiveness of the Undetectable effect) and the add-ons (minus the common, a couple uncommon ones, and Deer Lung) are crap.

  • She's a fun Killer. I was in the same boat as you, didn't like her that much at first but checked her out later and I ended up really liking her. I use BBQ, Pop, Thana, and Dying Light with the add-ons Black Incense and Vile Emetic:

    • BBQ is a good perk in general. Extra BPs plus information.
    • Pop helps Plague with gen pressure. If Survivors are that scared of getting sick, they'll let the gen continue to regress while they look for one that you haven't infected.
    • Thanatophobia works really good because how often you'll have Survivors injured. This helps a lot against teams that want to stay injured and pump out gens.
    • Dying Light's Obsession healing bonus can mean nothing to Plague because of her power. You can have extra slowdown while not having to worry about faster heals. If the Survivors do cleanse to keep their fast heals, you can use your Corrupt Purge and become a 115% Huntress. Even a low number of stacks works out since it stacks with Thanatophobia. You can easily have a 20% slowdown for a good portion of the game.
    • Black Incense gives you a lot of information. You'll be finding Survivors left and right with this add-on.
    • Vile Emetic breaks Survivors faster, which is always a good thing. Shortens the chase and gets Thana and Black Incense to activate sooner.

If you somehow can't tell by now, my build hates injured Survivors. Slowdown from Thana + DL combo and information through Black Incense. If you want, you could replace BBQ or Pop with Sloppy and not need to use your power to make the DL obsession bonus useless. Sloppy + Thana = no healing bonus.

  • I don't know. The game is over at that point, so it doesn't harm anyone by knowing if the Survivors were together or not.

  • I'm honestly not surprised that Survivors are crying when you don't let them escape for a crown. Events seem to bring out the worst from both sides.

  • I don't get why they brought this challenge back. It was a stupid idea from the start, but acceptable because it only needed to happen once.

  • Keep the cakes at 140% and have them stack. 700% extra BP sounds delicious.

  • If the Killer DCs, does anybody get to keep their crown? It'd be pretty messed up if the Killer could just DC and deny everyone of their crown.

  • The challenges are getting tedious now. Hook/chase 20 different Survivors, unhook 12 different Survivors, etc aren't fun to do and seem like their main purpose is to just make the Rift grindier and buying tiers look more appealing. Challenges like that shouldn't have the different Survivors condition. The unhook different Survivors one could easily take hours because of Survivors competing for unhooks.

Challenges like grab Survivors, escape on death hook as Kate, and hiding for 60 seconds within 10 meters of the Killer as Dwight are BS. The first relies on a broken mechanic. The second basically requires you to let the Killer hook you twice and then hope they don't tunnel you off hook or get too focused on you. The third turns you into a useless teammate for a minute.

Yesterday I had two tunnel mori Legions. Both of their excuse was, "it's for my adept challenge".

Tell me...how is one "adept" at any Killer by bringing an offering that reduces your actual workload down to 30ish percent. LOL How is that a "challenge"? It's dumb.

They really just need to get rid of the toxic ass dailies/challenges and/or stop counting a mori toward completion of the 'challenge'...especially if the purpose of the challenge is to be difficult and show some actual skill with that Killer.

I don't think it is an Adept challenge. Those challenges only to require you to get a 3k with Legion or Huntress's perks. You don't even need to get a 4k and you can use any Killer that has the correct perks unlocked. I think those players just looked at the required perks and immediately thought "Adept" without looking at the rest of the requirements.

  • I think it'd be a great idea, but I'm worried about the increase in toxicity. I could easily see players using their pride cosmetics/charms as a reason to get innocents banned. They could get salty and try to say that someone tunneled them because of the pride cosmetics/charms, which creates problems for both the reported player (fear that they'll get banned) and BHVR (having to look through tons of false reports in case one of them turns to be real). I can also see players trying to harass anyone using the cosmetics/charms. Killers already do it for people playing Claudette or Lisa.

  • I would love to know the thought process behind the Tome challenges. There's too many challenges that either rely on broken mechanics or force you to play in really stupid ways.

  • It was part of the second Rift. The reason you're not seeing it is because that Rift has ended and the cosmetic isn't in the store yet. You'll see it again once the devs add it to the store.

  • His frustration is understandable though. One Head On is already annoying as hell, so imagine two back-to-back.

  • He's supposed to throw a bunch of afflictions at you and make you go insane. Whether or not you find that fun is up to you. I find him fun to play as because of his power being able to shut down Survivors (getting to play as him is one of the reasons I bought this game after a free trial back in 2017, he's that fun to me) and fun to play against because he requires you to play differently.

I get what you're saying, but with re-vaulting, you just can't. And in situations where it's revault or go down, what do you do? You can't.

You don't have to revault. Just continue to run the loop. Shocking slows him down by a lot, so if he's spamming it, then he'll keep losing distance and extending the chase. If he gets you, then it's because one of you played the loop correctly or it was unsafe to begin with.

  • They want you to pay for the tiers. You have be a hardcore player (as in play the hell out of the game each day) or spend money on the tiers in order to have a reasonable chance at getting to tier 70. That's probably a reason as to why highly requested features such as being able to select more than one challenge haven't been added. They'd reduce the grind and lower the chances of people spending money on tiers. I completed most of the challenges in tome 2 and only made it to tier 50.

I would not be surprised if people don't count queue times (only gameplay times) when talking about how long it took them to finish a Rift.

  • Same with that basement bug from a couple patches ago where getting hooked in it would have you suspended in the air forever and give the Killer a free kill. It happened often because all you had to was hook the Survivor in the basement, and sometimes they were the only hooks you could reach.
