I stared at a standing GF while at a junk tile. My Survivor was turned towards him and looking directly at him. He still fully stalked me. How has this not been fixed yet?
-
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to this patch, at least until we know how the maps perform on console.

ROFL why should I even bother replying when you jump to "you want easy escapes?"
Surveillance tells the killer where someone is. Tapping it and letting them chase you is not a counter to that. Like come on
If you're that scared of chases, then just tap it and go find a different a gen to do. If multiple gens are yellow, then the Killer won't know where you're at and will have to guess. It's not like you'll never be able to complete a gen.

You mean fixing it as was originally designed so it has somewhat of a counter?
Surveillance wasn't breaking anything or creating new situations where it would be overpowered. It was a strong perk that could stand on its own. Now you pretty much need to run another perk to help it out.
Saying that Surveillance now has somewhat of a counter is laughable and makes me think that you just want easy escapes. You could either tap the gen or keep working on it and let the Killer chase you.
-
I don't see any, other than bias towards Survivors (at least for DCing to give Hatch). This going to encourage Survivors to either do nothing near the main building/shack or DC to give the last one the Hatch, both of which are terrible "strategies".
-
At least it’s something.
Still doesn’t make up for murdering Surveillance though.
-
Yes, he has anti loop with his Shock Therapy and pressure/tracking from his Static Blast and Madness effect. If you learn when to use them, Doc can be a beast. Just watch out for dedicated servers taking shock stuns away from you.
-
Locker flashlight saves? Never heard of them, but it sounds like you blind the Killer from the side while they pull the Survivor out, which is stupid for two reasons.
- Jumping into a locker and being discovered should be a bad thing for the Survivor. I’m tired of seeing them become safe zones (Head On, DS, and now this flashlight BS).
- If you can get a blind from the side, then looking at a wall won’t work as a counter. Wouldn’t that mean that a flashlight is pretty much uncounterable if the Survivor knows how to use it? I thought that the devs removed side blinds back when they removed instablinds.

I’m considering buying PH’s first outfit because I actually like it. However I also don’t want to support the game in its current state (I’m only buying chapters for the trophies, and even then that might be too much) and $10 is still a lot for a skin.
As for the other linked skins, hell no! None of them are worth their asking price (like most cosmetics) and don’t need to have the entire outfit linked.
-
- Predator: Hunting Grounds
- Avengers (I’m actually typing this while the credits are rolling)
- Resident Evil 3 Remake (going for platinum)
- The Last of Us Part II (going for the Grounded and Permadeath trophies, plus I might keep replaying it with different filters active)

Who the hell camps and tunnels in tournaments?
When $15,000 is on the line, you’re going to want to do whatever it takes to get that money.
-
Doctor’s is the best to me, followed by Legion, Spirit, Demo, Oni, PH, and Billy.
-
Console optimization. I want it to be solved already. Tired of losing hits and gens because the game decided to turn into a slideshow (I can't even switch to PC because of no PS4-PC cross progression).
-
Pipping and the Emblem system are currently piles of steaming garbage.
Also, Killers go through the same thing. Having bad opponents punishes them too.

Last question please
When I hit a survivor with the secondary attack, the survivor can no longer jump or lower the pucks, how long does it last 3 seconds ?
It's 2.5 seconds.
If you want exact numbers for the terror radius with Distressing and the add-ons, it's 32 (base terror radius) + 8 (bonus from Distressing) + 8 (bonus from the purple add-on) + 6 (bonus from the yellow add-on) = 54 meters.
-
Like most of the skins in the shop, the current Legendary skins are nowhere near worth the price. I’d spend $3 on them in their current state. I could buy a couple of characters (or even a new game) or a skin in a game that already costs $30.
-
We need more Exhaustion add-ons. Demo’s needs a buff. Huntress and Clown’s are fine. Doctor needs his back.
The devs say that Doc’s Exhaustion add-ons (Obedience - “Carter’s Notes” and the Iridescent King version of it) were removed because it was just the least interesting of his afflictions. I’m sorry, but I just don’t believe that (at least as the main reason). I think that the devs saw an opportunity to remove an effect that hurt bad Survivors and they took it.
If that’s not the case, then why couldn’t they just leave it as an Iridescent King exclusive effect? It only activated at Madness tier 3, so the Survivor wouldn’t be Exhausted the entire game. It was so satisfying to see a Survivor make a mistake or start looking behind them only for their perk to not activate and go down. Unfortunately, those same Survivors are the ones who likely went online and complained how it was OP or “oppressive” and needed to be removed.
If you’re upset that you can’t make a mistake and then have something like Dead Hard or Lithe fix it for you, then you need to get good or stop trying to get clips for montages. It’s clear you’re relying too much on a perk. Also, who the hell cares about clips for montages? You aren’t getting paid for them lol. They definitely shouldn’t be anywhere near the main reason for a balance decision.

I just do it because I get the bloody cosmetics. I love gore stuff so.
Also, when you prestige your luck in the bloodweb is increased.
Even tho, I think prestiging it's useless and makes no sense. Losing all your progress 3 times is not fun at all.
I thought the increased luck thing was proved to be pretty much meaningless (heck, I think the people that tested it actually got more from a prestige 0 Killer than a prestige 3 one).
-
You should only prestige if you actually like the cosmetics, are a trophy hunter, or just want some minor bragging rights.
-
I absolutely refuse to get rid of my small mountain of add-ons and offerings (including all event offerings) with every perk in the game on Doctor just for a blood-covered outfit (I've already got his Hallowed Blight outfit, which is my favorite cosmetic in the game). I would need a huge incentive like free instadowns or constant 150% movement speed to prestige him, but that's not likely to happen.
The others either have too much in their inventory, a cosmetic that looks better than the prestige one, or both. Freddy and Wraith already have all perks in the game AND I'm fine with the cosmetics they have (I realized that Freddy doesn’t have any other cosmetics, but decided it wasn’t that big of a deal because I don’t want to go through that grind again and prestige doesn’t mean you’re good).
I've only gotten Demo to P1 and LF to P2 because I actually wanted those bloody cosmetics. Myers is going to be the only character I get to P3 50 because I want the mask, the trophy, and he has like one cosmetic (and it only changes his body and knife). I also don't have that many perks, add-ons, and offerings on him.
Also, prestige doesn’t equal skill. I’ve seen some really bad players on both sides who have fully prestiged their characters.

When frames drop for me:
- Receiving a status effect like Bloodlust, Mangled, Exposed, etc (all sides)
- Playing on an indoor map (all Killers, gets worse as some)
- When the Survivor starts having "jerky" movement to attempt things like 360s (all Killers)
- Lery's and Dead Dawg drops to around 5-10 FPS (playing as Doctor and Freddy, it was like a PowerPoint presentation for me)
- The Game and Midwich drops to 10-15 FPS (playing as Doctor and Freddy)
- Trying to use Pyramid Head's power
- Playing as Doctor and Freddy in general
- When Demogorgon's portal placement status changes
- Sometimes stutters causing me to lose Survivors
- Sometimes FPS drops when I get a skill check (as Survivor)
-
I thought they removed it but it turns out it's still there, just harder to do. I didn't realize until a Pig did it to me (keep forgetting to test it out myself though lol).
-
Perks can’t be toxic. Playstyles and people can.

Lerys alone drops it to 15, plus murky would probably be around 10.
Combine Lery’s with Doc and you get only 5 FPS. Lery’s performing so badly probably means that it should be disabled temporarily (15 FPS normally, 5 with Doc).

Taken out? Not reworked?
Rework both of them. That post was shortly after a bad game on Haddonfield, so my negative feelings towards it were amplified there. Ormond was just collateral damage. I like the idea of a snowy map.
-
They should do separate giveaways for console and PC players. It’s really not fair when one platform can quickly type them in with a keyboard. Typing with the controller takes a long time.
-
I feel the same way! Bring Small Game for a totem challenge, get Trapper and Freddy as Killers. Have a blind challenge, get Hag as a Killer. It’s annoying as hell!
-
I need to see if his P3 outfit looks good or not. That's the only way I'll get a character to P3.
-
There's a bug where the Survivor's perks don't show up at all in the post game screen.
-
Haddonfield and Ormond deserve to be annihilated.
-
I wonder if it’s reportable if someone knows about the terrible FPS as Killer and tries to abuse it against them as Survivor.

Big maps such as corn and Red forest are lagging as hell.
Just had a couple of games in these maps as doctors, and I got a terrible headache.
Wonder if we're approaching refund/lawsuit territory here.
That’d probably be the only way that would BHVR put console optimization as their top priority.
-
Yeah, I think this is bugged. Just fell high enough to where I staggered and it didn’t count. Why do the devs keep putting this challenge in tomes? Not only do you have to hope for the right map, but it’s bugged! This continues to prove that the Archive team has no clue what DBD is actually like. I think they just look at things and think “that’d be a cool challenge”. It’s probably why we’ve gotten so many grab challenges.

The devs said on Twitter that the new graphics aren't going to destroy consoles.
BTW, we have a 33 page long thread regarding console optimization.

UPDATE #1 (August 28)
(for the original post look below)
Since this thread is now so important for us console players, and it's growing so much, I guess it could be useful to have some updated info here on the first topic.
First:
Q: did BHVR acknowledge the consoles problem?
A: NO. The only thing that BHVR did in this topic was to say, and I quote from @PatBrutal, "Just so you know, we've shared the thread with the team and they're going to take a look at it."
The reply from Pat was on August 13th, and since then we haven't received any update on the matter. We currently don't know:
- if the Dev Team actually did read the post
- if they understand there is a frame rate problem
- if they are willing to work on the problem
- if they are able to work on the problem
- if the problem has any priority over other work
- if yes at all of the above: when the issues are expected to be resolved
Aside for the (non existent) public communications here on the forum, today there has been a tweet from the DbD official account that states as follow:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LNGBR0C61IDY/image.png
notice the post is not talking about any improvement over the current fps on console, just that they apparently acknowledge console need special care for the graphical update.
if BHVR should ever decide to give any new public statement on the matter, it will be posted as a new update.
-----------------
ORIGINAL POST (august 5)
There are plenty of feedback on the optimization sub board but I don't see any reply from BHVR, so, once again:
are you aware that fps on console (PS4, at least) degraded A LOT since 4.1.0 when playing as killer?
Here, I'll post you a video from today on Hawkins, it's basically a slide show every time a survivor is on screen.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489
(if it doesn't open: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489)
as a comparison, here's the same map (different killer, but trust me, it's not the Oni the problem), but from one month ago
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944
(again: direct link is https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944)
The frame rate obviously is still far from optimal, but it's a great deal better than how it is now.
Can you, @Peanits , @Almo or whoever else at least say "yes, we know, expect a fix soon / buy a pc you filthy console peasant"?
EDIT: bonus video - Hillbilly on a very open (and not very elaborate, polygonally speaking?) map.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xvi3tYBSOA
The framerate is certainly better than on Hawkins, but as you can see every time there's a chase, maybe at T-L walls, everything goes south.

Me when loading into an indoor map as Killer.
Also, get back on that first page thread!
-
This would be amazing, however I could see problems with Discordance and Make Your Choice because there are people who prefer tier 1 over tier 3 for them.
-
School/work is usually over by that time.
-
As much as I hate doing so, situations like this are why I bring DS and Dead Hard. Getting hook farmed feels terrible and ######### you if you intentionally do so.
Of course if you have BT or fully intend to take a hit/go down so I can run away, then it’s fine. Either I have protection or you’re sacrificing yourself for me.
-
Because Dull and Skeleton Keys are stupid.
-
Same day as everyone else does. PC only got to test it out on the Public Test Build.

I am cautiously optimistic, as this could easily go very wrong. But for right now...
https://youtu.be/nVmXsBNfwHY?t=134POSSIBLE CONSOLE OPTIMIZATION INCOMING! HELL YEAH!
-
I’d rather have this than challenges like “get two kills in the EGC with NOED”, “kill everyone in the basement”, or “find a Survivor in a locker while using Iron Maiden”.
-
His shock is more effective after the pallet is down on most loops. Having an electrode can let you get loops that you normally wouldn't be able to. While it can be tempting to shock them while it's up, try not to because the Survivor can just loop you for a really long time if they aren't stupid.
-
BBQ is a good perk in general. It helps tell you where to go after a hook. You can also get double blood points with it, and Doc is a blood point machine.
Distressing increases the range of your Terror Radius (and Static Blast since it’s tied to the TR) by 8 meters (from 32m to 40m). If you don’t see someone on BBQ, you can use your Static Blast to see if they’re nearby (the BBQ blind spot is 40m and Distressing also makes your Static Blast 40m). You do run the risk of wasting it because Survivors could just hiding in lockers, blending in with a gen, or run Distortion. There’s also a 100% bonus Deviousness points while in-game, so you’ll be able to get 8k in that category very quickly.
Pop is probably the best Killer perk in the game. You run to a gen after a hook, kick it, and it’s lost 25% progress. BBQ and Surveillance can tell you where to exactly to go to get the most value out of it. Survivors can try to rush that gen so you can’t use your Pop, but Doc can use either of his shocks to get them off so he can kick it or put the Survivor into Madness 3 so they have to Snap Out of It and cannot work on the gen. You’ll get Pop plus a little extra regression.
Surveillance is there to help out BBQ and Pop. It also tells me if I need to stay in an area and use Static Blast to find someone or just leave. It’s probably the most interchangeable perk in this build. Unfortunately it’s getting nerfed in the next patch. Why? Nobody knows.
If you don’t want to use this, you can go for an impossible skillcheck build (the same build others have brought up in this thread). Just be aware that you will have a hard time on bigger maps or if the Survivors can hit skill checks (I’ve seen Survivors hit Unnerving + Overcharge while running, it’s nuts).
Iridescent King applies all of his afflictions at once after a single shock or blast and Iridescent Queen allows the Survivor to carry a static charge after being shocked. The charge does the same thing as a normal shock therapy (no interactions for 2.5 seconds, raises Madness by half a tier). It’s expensive but good.
If you want, you can use Discipline - “Carter’s Notes” and High Stimulus Electrode. Discipline shortens the shock delay (the time between releasing your shock and it hitting the Survivor) by 0.1/0.2/0.3 seconds and High Stimulus Electrode increases the range of shock therapy by 75%. Both add-ons are good on their own, but together they can do a lot of damage. You don’t have to be as precise with your shock timing because of the shortened delay and increased range. It’s probably his best add-on combo.

Strange. Guess they were on a lunch break.
For me they like to take a while (like three weeks to a month) before notifying me.
-
These are some really childish hackers (unless they’re getting paid). I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the type of player to DC on first down or if they’re on a map they don’t like.
-
Someone did the math and found out that you are getting less from this tome. Why? Who knows lol.
-
Pretty sure all Killers can make Survivors scream when they get hit and they scream when triggering Hag's traps.
Also wasn't there a scream challenge in Tome 3? Huntress and Legion don't have any special way of making Survivors scream.

Thowing my hat into this as a fellow PS4 player and keeping the thread alive. Reading through this thread, the devs really need to stop hiding away and actually just face the facts. We're pissed and we want some answers. The longer they ignore this, the worse they make it for themselves. If they just acknowledged the fact we just want a decent FPS then we'd be happy.
What I found funny as well, was I saw a post about Otz saying that the hardware was the issue. Now, I'm no tech jocky here, and couldn't tell you the difference between a graphics card and a bank card, but let's just put this out here. The Witcher 3, released 2015. Absolutely gorgeous game, amazing graphics, STABLE FPS, and giant world. DbD, released 2016 (Consoles 2017), causes consoles to become planes in loading screens and menus, FPS gets scared when Demo growls, FPS dies on Lery's or any indoor map. Sure, you can say the Witcher Devs are more experienced, and I'm sure they are, but whats the excuse? Anyone whos played the Witcher series knows how huge the game is, but DbD isn't even close to it's size. Maybe 10% of it. So how can the game run so god damn awful?
TLDR: Older games run better than DbD and the Devs need to stop hiding and start answering our questions.
Newer games like The Last of Us Part II, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, and RDR 2 don't have these problems. All of these games are huge with outstanding visuals and attention to detail on PS4. Hell, TLOU2 was designed to run on a base model PS4. There is no way that the current consoles should struggle this much with something as simple as DBD (even though most the games I mentioned started out as or still are PS4 exclusives, it can't be that much easier to optimize them) unless the devs are just lazy/don't care or just has little to no experience working with consoles. I think this is BHVR's first big multiplayer game.
PS: All of my RDR 2 experience comes from what I've read and watched. I haven't played the game yet.

I’d have tried to sandbag her and let her die. She deserves it for hacking.
