Ghosface's ability daily, Survivor dailies that require you to play a specific character (unless it's someone who I've leveled up), and any Nurse dailies (except the chase one).
-
My queue times are the same for both sides (a few minutes for Survivors, a few seconds for Killer).
-
Decided to give it a chance.
As Killer:
1st game was alright, but a worrying as I could tell I was at a disadvantage frame wise.
2nd game told me that I shouldn’t have given it a chance. Toxic high rank Survivors with higher frames than me and they knew. Yeah, not very fun. Deactivated it. Maybe I’ll try again someday...
As Survivor:
1st game seemed fine. Either the Survivors were really good or the Killer (Deathslinger) really sucked because I escaped and depipped. They were speeding through the gens and the Killer only saw me once and chased me for like four seconds. He only got a 3k at the end because NOED (that’s also when he got his first hook). Sorry, but I’m not throwing myself at the guy whose job is to kill me lol. Everyone was red rank or rank 5.
2nd game put me with a bunch of greens (so purples before the reset). They got slaughtered. I got out through the Hatch. Thankfully nobody was like the last game where they were too good or bad, so I pipped.
I think I’m going to leave it on for Survivor.
-
The devs won’t just ban you. They’ll watch the footage and decide if the report was justified or not.
What rank were they? You probably ran into players that didn’t know what Doctor does or aren’t used to seeing Agitation.
-
He already has one when he fakes (same with Huntress). Just look at him and the ground while at a loop. Be prepared to dodge if you see that he’s actually going to use the attack.
-
I honestly don't care that much for cross-play (but it's great that it's in for the people that wanted it!). Cross-progression is what I'm really interested in. Hopefully that's the next step, as it shouldn't be too hard to convince Sony and Microsoft to allow cross-progression if they were fine with cross-play and cross-friends.

Not to be a Nancy Downer here (despite the profile pic), but the reply was "the team will take a look at it". The existence of this thread was what got acknowledged, not that fps are highly problematic.
I don't even want to start about actual dates for improvements.
(Disappointed PS4 player since June 2017 here)
At least it's something. Maybe we should keep updating this thread until get a date for actual improvements?

You're telling me you're scared to face killers who's more playable on PC ?
damn those people are so entilted to win.
Yes, a Killer with 5-10 FPS should totally go up against a team who's got 50-60 FPS. Sorry, but I'm not putting myself through that BS. Crossplay will be off for me until consoles are optimized.

Hello!
Just so you know, we've shared the thread with the team and they're going to take a look at it.
Thank you
We did it! BHVR noticed us! Thank you!
-
Don't chase anyone too far. I'd recommend having Pop and Surveillance, play Huntress with good LoS on your gens, or run an impossible skillcheck build on Doctor. Anything else will struggle because of how easy it is to stop gen regression.
-
The horrible, horrible design of the Emblem system (especially for Killers).
-
Yeah it's complete BS that they can. Survivors can get a game-changing item out of the blue and the Killer can't prepare for it at all. It wasn't like this before the last Christmas event. Everyone had a higher chance to get rarer items or add-ons in chests and the Bloodweb. After the event ended, BHVR decided to let Survivors keep the improved chests, but ######### over Killers because "lol Killers".
-
HAHAHAHA no.
I don't like playing against Hag either, but this would kill her. Also, people being good at a strong but hard-to-learn Killer is toxic? Lol.

Honestly they can just make the mechanic work 20m within a hooked survivor, or just revert it to the 4.1.1.
Couldn’t Billies just start camping at 21 meters? This would be problematic for hooks out in the open because he could just down the rescuer and camp them. I think reverting the newest changes would be the best option.
-
How the latest patch feels.
-
Yeah, we can't have bad Survivors unhappy for too long. Otherwise we'll lose money.
-
Overheat should stay to prevent camping with the chainsaw revved (it's pretty much game over for that Survivor and very unfun for the Survivor), but these changes need to go. This is just another case of BHVR caving to bad Survivors' complaints. 4.1.0 was the best patch for new Billy.
-
He's fine. Sorry that you can't bully him. He even has three ways to wake up, while Clown can always hit you with his slowdown.
Also, it's HIS world.
-
Waiting until the last second to close the Hatch is toxic? What? Sounds like you just don't want anything to be scary in this game at all. It's funny when you close the Hatch while cloaked and scary because it means he's going to kill you.

What did happen Evolve? I had heard of that but never played, didn't know they even had a sequel.
It was a great game, but 2K got their hands on it. I wouldn’t be surprised if most stupid decisions came from them forcing Turtle Rock Studios to accept them. Turtle Rock wasn’t perfect, but they weren’t the main reason Evolve struggled.
It also released too early. Had it released now, it would’ve thrived. People would’ve been fine with the DLC prices (which were actually pretty fair considering how hard and expensive it was to make a new character). They buy loot boxes and season passes. DBD’s skin prices are ludicrous but people still eat them up! $10-15 for a skin and $4-5 for a character (which can be bought at least two at a time in chapters) versus $2-3 for a Monster skin or set of weapon skins (skin bundles were $5-7) and $5 or $10 for a new Hunter or Monster. Hell, even Call of Duty was selling gun skins for $2! Everyone unfortunately just jumped on the “evolve bad” bandwagon.

I don't understand why this game even has FPS issues when you look at other games way more graphically heavy and they can run a smooth 60 FPS. This game is PS3 graphics at best and runs like garbage on the PS4 (I play on both PC and PS4, but feel better about playing on PC because my frames stay at 60.)
It shouldn’t have any issues. The Last of Us Part II was designed with a base model PS4 in mind and runs with little to no issues. It is also a visual masterpiece (even people that hated the story and characters praised the visuals). BHVR should have no problems making Dead by Daylight perform well on consoles. I’m beginning to think that they just don’t know how to develop for consoles. That’s the only possible reason I can think of if they actually care about them.
-
It’s supposed to be a hard map. Get the stun or get hit.
-
I need more of this! I need see my boy Doctor in action!
The very last scene was the scariest for me. The rest of the film was tense, but that last part where the Survivors are running to that small light had me on edge. I was thinking that Doc would burst out of the wall or one of his illusions would suddenly appear.
-
Seriously? This again? Ugh.
Just keep running, even if you have to run in circles. Your Mend timer does not go down while running. Wait until he leaves you, then Snap Out of It and Mend. Tiers 2 and 3 will give you more than enough time to Snap Out of It. Tier 1 doesn't, but it's only at tier 1 so it's fine. If he doesn't leave you, then waste as much of his time as possible. It's perfectly fine that one Killer gets to counter BT and Soul Guard like this. Countering this strategy is also easy as hell.
SloppyKnockout gave some very good answers.
-
Before 4.1.0, I could play Doctor on indoor maps without many FPS problems. I didn't drop frames with him that much. When this patch rolled along, everything changed. Hawkins is my favorite Killer map in the game, and I now dread getting it, all because of how poorly optimized console is.

With the next gen consoles nearing, where would you put more of your resources? Into the outgoing machines? This is the only thing that makes sense to me.
About a year and a half or so ago ever since a proper opiminazion was first brought up, it has been little fixed here and there instead. And the latest string of patches, most especially the latest one, have hurt performance so much.
I don't want to believe the thinking is "yeah about that.... well... but the 5 and X are out soon... so.............byeeee."
Guess I need persuasion to the contrary, and that the timing of everything hasn't moved this issue from side burner to back burner to into the freezer forgotten.
I wish they'd tell us something, even if it's just to say that they've switched focus to next-gen consoles. The chances of DBD being one of the few PS4 games that isn't backwards compatible for the PS5 are very, very low. I'm not sure about the Xbox Series X though.
-
Remove the cooldown too and it’ll be great.
-
Because the devs don't want to risk breaking the stronger Killers. However most of the perks they've done this for wouldn't break any of the Killers. They either have a BS basic attack requirement, too long of a cooldown, or an unnecessary cooldown. You could remove the cooldown and basic attack requirement from Surge and it'd be perfectly fine.
-
Yeah this has been going on for a while. It can really throw you off because you think a David is nearby.
-
When everyone’s on struggle phase, the game just ends it right there to speed up the game a little bit. There’s no way for the Survivors to get off the hook at that point. This change was made a couple patches ago.

Nope it's a bug lol its happen to plenty of people. Nothing to do with anyone's controller

I got blinded last night even though the Survivor wasn’t in my FOV (they started to blind me from the side). They weren’t even close to being in front of me. By the time the blind effect began to cover my screen, I was completely turned around. It was like the game knew I had dodged the blind but decided to give to the Survivor anyways.
I guess they’re broken on both sides.
-
They want more money. None of the current skins need the entire set to be linked (even Minotaur Oni, his weapon doesn’t need to be linked).
-
Yeah, the new matchmaking is utter garbage and the devs seem to be scared of admitting that. I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to quit the game. The new player experience is horrible (the massive grind and terrible matchmaking are the worst offenders) and many others feel the same.
Also if you’re on console I’d just try to switch to PC, this game has been very poorly optimized for years.
-
Huntress and Myers because their add-ons aren't up to the current standard.

######### is wrong with exhaustion add-ons? Just sounds like survivors are overly reliant on these perks.
That's exactly why. Survivors can't play without them and get upset whenever they can't fall back on Exhaustion perks. I'm still upset that Doc lost his in the rework. It was so much fun to use. Putting Survivors in tier 3 would hurt them in a chase and it was amazing to see Survivors try to pull off some sick play with an Exhaustion perk only to fail because I had shocked them into Madness 3. I wouldn't mind seeing it return as an Iridescent King exclusive affliction. Iri King used to have Exhaustion as an affliction before the rework, so it's not like this would be OP.
-
Exactly, it's terrible for him.
-
Wraith and Hag stare at the ground for some reason when they get stunned. I think all Killers had it when the game launched but was eventually removed (except for Hag, she’s always looked down after a stun). Not sure why the devs want to bring it back.

Y’all talking about ps4, HAVE YOU PLAYED ON SWITCH!
No, and I’m terrified of doing so.
@Unicorn said:
I agree with this. I once posted a topic about being able to opt out of Bloodlust if you’d like as Killer because my frames drop dramatically once it activates and got PC players telling me that console frames aren’t bad. I love being told that my experiences are not real or true.
I feel your pain. Like I said earlier on, I tried tweeting about it and almost immediately I received replies about how people weren’t having this issue and I need a better PC (as if consoles didn’t even exist).
-
Well, here’s the problem with that. I’ve been rank 1 since they started using MMR for matchmaking. I have to get four Iridescents with Oni and Deathslinger. Since DCing or losing only takes away one pip, it would take me 20+ games to get back to purple, which is going to take a long time. I’m thinking about just waiting until rank reset and hoping the devs don’t fix anything until after then. I want them bad, but not that bad to where I’m going to waste an entire day just DCing or losing games to get down to purple ranks.
-
How exactly is the Killer supposed to know you’re going for a challenge?
As for his performance, he could just not like showing mercy to Survivors and wants to kill them as efficiently as possible or is forced to play like that because we don’t know what a win for MMR is and don’t want to face low ranks every game.
-
Not really. I bring BP offerings because I want BP, not because matchmaking is broken and I’m pretty sure a lot of other Killers do the same thing. We’d play the same way even if we ran a different offering. Remember some people have a LOT of cakes.
I have seen at least three Survivors bring in a cake and they were red ranks.
-
I think it’s broken and they’re just afraid to admit it. Why else would they want to completely hide it?
-
@Nobsyde said:
every 360 of a survivor is basically tossing a coin and guess where they are going right now
It's been like this for years. Most Survivors unfortunately think it's them and end up relying on the game being unoptimized to succeed. I wonder how much they'd freak out if BHVR optimizes the game and their tricks suddenly stop working. We'd get a bunch of threads about how 360s are "ruined" or how Killer is OP now. Maybe that's why consoles are still poorly optimized, BHVR is afraid of the possible backlash from Survivors lol.
-
Probably because it is broken and the devs are hoping everything will magically sort itself out.
-
Where's the part where they bring a poorly optimized version of the game to other platforms and struggle to fix it for years?
-
All the indoor maps suck now on PS4. I get 5-10 FPS at max on them by just trying to play as Killer. I’m beginning to wonder if the devs are slowly beginning to just not care about console optimization, especially because they haven’t even acknowledged it. It was really disappointing to see nothing about it in the patch notes.
I tried asking about it on Twitter and almost immediately I was bombarded with “uPgRaDe yOuR pC!!!” replies, as if consoles didn’t even exist. It looks like this just going to be swept under the “bad optimization” rug and fixed in a couple years (I hope not though, considering how severe these issues are now). Hopefully the PS5 will be able to fix these problems and PS/PC cross-progression is implemented (in case the game is still poorly optimized on PS5).
-
Don’t spend too much time on one Survivor. Know which gens to protect and which gens to let go (like you’ll want to protect an area with a bunch of gens in it and leave gens that are out of your way and isolated from the rest). Run good perks and add-ons that help you either win chases quicker or slow down gens.
Or you can just DC or stop playing the game. Can’t get gen rushed if you aren’t in a match.
-
They're trying to be cool.
-
If you know the Killer has it, then just drop your item before entering a chase.
-
I saw this coming from day 1 of the PTB, but it got lost in all the “it’s situational” or “it just came out” arguments. It should’ve been very easy to see how broken this perk could be with a certain popular build. The nerf they did to it (causes Deep Wound instead of Endurance) wasn’t enough.
-
Yeah, this game is not friendly to new players at all and the devs don't seem to care about it. The horrible matchmaking and grind have driven away so many new players.
-
It sounds like you'd be going up against new Survivors. As a trophy hunter, I don't mind this because it means I don't have to sweat my balls off to double pip against red rank Survivors with only three perks for the Killer Adepts.
