Tier 3 Madness and keys

If tier 3 madness stops people from using items why is that the Survivor can still use the Key?

Comments

  • Because they dont really ,,use" their Items. They cant use it for aura reading but they still can open the hatches because.. Ummm idk.

  • Are you sure? I’ve T3 key users before and they get stuck unable to open it and become an easy down

  • (because keys are an ancient op item)

  • The shock stops them from opening the hatch or jumping in an open hatch for the duration of the stun, in the same way it stops them from vaulting, dropping pallets, etc. Other than this nothing stops the survivor from using a key, if they are on the hatch with a key they escape, period.

Purple and pink key M1 should "not" be effected by Madness Tier 3 currently so not sure what you experienced there.

Honestly this will probably devolve into the common "keys are broken" conversation anyway but as it is right now Madness T3 preventing key usage would be fine for me - honestly wouldn't mind seeing the entire system of keys, hatch, EDC door mechanics and perks being revisited but that's for another thread completely.

Wow survivors I get are stupid then cuz once they go T3 with a key near hatch they go potato so I always assumed that was because they couldn’t open hatch

  • Because Dull and Skeleton Keys are stupid.

Yes I am aware the shock stops actions. However I am referring to the Survivor being tier 3 madness when they are tier 3 they can't use medkits, flashlights, toolboxes etc but they can still use the key to open the hatch why is that? Shouldn't tier 3 stop them from doing that?
