  • I think Nemesis should be the main Killer because you can do more with him (tentacles, use of weaponry) and because of how iconic he is. Mr. X and the RE1 Tyrant could be legendary skins.

  • Rank reset bringing you down to 20 is going to help some because the requirements will be easier. It's more of an unintentional fix though. Honestly I'm surprised that barely anybody talked about it considering how hated the Killer Adepts are.

An actual fix would have to come from changing the Emblem system or adding more match result descriptions.

  • Wait Nurse's Calling was nerfed?

  • I used it to run it on Doctor until I came to my senses and realized how bad it actually is. Unnerving does nothing to Survivors that are good at skillchecks. I switched out Unnerving and Overcharge for Pop and Surveillance and it's been great. I like having four perks that are always doing something throughout the game.

  • I think DBD's Nemesis would be based off the remake, as that's the one Capcom is putting in their marketing. If we do get the OG voice, it'll end up being part of a cosmetic. I wouldn't mind having both the monstrous remake voice and the humanlike OG voice because both are great.

Also it wouldn't be Nemesis without his voice. That would piss off a LOT of people, including Capcom. They might not even allow DBD to use Nemesis if they don't have his voice in some way.

  • None for Killer.

    DS for Survivor.

Also Rancor and Urban are not that strong. You're relying on finding the Obsession soon while the gates are powered with Rancor and Urban needs a stealth build to be effective.

  • Survivor: Laurie and David

Killer: Doctor and Freddy (although my stats probably look more like a Doctor main that occasionally plays Freddy)

  • I would lose it if Nemesis was added. I'd try to master him even if he's the hardest Killer in the game.

  • Everything will transfer from PS4 to PS5 except for trophies. You have to earn those all over again.

  • Doctor. He was one of the reasons I bought the game, and that was back before he got powered up from his rework. It’s really fun to shock the Survivors and stop them from doing almost anything. I love hearing their screams as they descend further into madness.

  • Either you're trolling or somehow dropped your item at the wrong time.

  • Drop your item right before you get hit. Easy counter.

Also it’s just an item. Not a big deal unless you brought your last event item, but that’s on you as you knew the risks.

  • Yep.

Back when I used to play Pyramid Head and I ran both range add-ons, the Bloodweb tried its hardest to not give them to me.

Trying to get Nurse's on Wraith took a long time. It was one of the last perks I got to tier 3 on him.

I've had the game refuse to give me Iridescent Kings on Doctor, forcing me to use Black Wards to keep my last one. One time it got so bad that I almost ran out of wards. On any Killer, I prioritize my favorite add-ons and Black Wards when going through bloodwebs.

  • Yes but they're really cheap and are free (no Auric Cell-only charms).

  • None of these. They're all just gestures or Survivors trying to finish the objective. Yeah they're annoying, but not toxic. For me that would be teaming up to bully an obviously new Killer or one that's being nice (especially if you derank to do so). Those Survivors should try to imagine themselves in that Killer's shoes. Would they like being bullied for 20 minutes in one of their first games?

  • They said that the Rift outfits would be available eventually when the first Rift released. I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs are trying to do the same with most charms.

  • Any Killer except Trapper, Ghostface, Hag, and Huntress.

  • Wasn't there a glitch with prestige a while back where you could prestige but keep your inventory and the devs were banning people for it and wiping their progress? Not surprising they're banning for this. Cosmetics are very special to the devs.

And of course gameplay glitches usually go unpunished and are just fixed in a patch. I can't remember the last time they banned people for that instead of just fixing it. It might have been the Legion infinite mending bug.

  • Great changes, I would just completely remove all of its mapwide sounds except for after it teleports and after someone gets hit and bring its footstep volume down to the level of the other Killers. I really like the Mangled add-on for Shred.

  • Remove them. Neither side should be able to pull out something so powerful in the middle of the game.

  • It's just an item.

Oh and you can counter it by dropping the item right before you get hit.

I mean it as so many are relying on them often some quit because they can’t dh away

That’s why we’re losing them. Survivors don’t like it when Killers are able to expose how bad they are, which is exactly what Exhaustion add-ons do. I predicted this the moment Doctor lost his. Bad Survivors complained and the devs gave in so they wouldn’t lose their cash cows. There is no way Huntress is keeping hers, those things are 100% getting wiped out with her add-on pass. Demo and Pig might be the only two to have Exhaustion add-ons, and that’s only because of how bad the add-ons are.

If you’re a Survivor that needs Exhaustion perks to win, then you’re bad and need to get good. I’m tired of Killers losing good add-ons because of low skill players.

  • Look around for the Survivors. If I don't see anyone, then I go patrol the gens.

The reason physical copies of goods get more frequent discounts is because retailers have already paid for those products, and if they have excess or the stuff has stopped selling as well they want tot ry and get rid of it and bring new stuff in. Digital they never have that issue, especially when the console manufacturer owns the marketplace.

The main benefit to phsyical besides more frequent dscounts, is being able to trade, borrow, and sell your copies of the games, tv, movies etc while also ensuring they are not going to be taken away from you by the vendor, copywrong holder or through any other means other than straight up theft, wear and tear or a disaster of some sort if not simply losing it like on a big move. The hardware they run on can wear down though, like with VCRs, but there are ways to get the old movies that never got dvd or bluray releases into digital formats and then have them filtered and fluffed up a bit as well. Games can be ripped and played through emulators eventually.

There are some games removed on consoles I heard where even those that purchased them could no longer download them and were not refunded for those purchases and that they could only play them if they already had them installed (on limited space compared to legions of drives on pc) or were able to jimmy them onto their drives in ways that could brick those consoles firmware or get their serials banned (imagine having to install custom firmware to install a 'pirate' version of something you paid for). One good thing about Steam is Valve has agreements that when games are pulled those that paid for them can always download, install, and play them (as long as they don't need to link to servers but you can at least fire the game up like stargate resistance even though it's servers are looong dead) until the Steam service itself shuts down for any reason permanently.

To the OP, btw, Put the Disc Inside of the Console when you wanna play the games works the same with the versions on disc and the upgraded versions of them installed from the downloads on the marketplace. Also, on PS5 I noticed when i installed the PS5 version of Borderlands 3 and then deleted the PS4 version of it but left the disc inside the console it would keep automatically installing the PS4 version of the game off the disc every time I'd boot up the console. So try and remember to eject the discs when you're done if you delete the PS4 versions of games and only run the PS5 versions if you see that happen to you. I haven't played Borderlands 3 since late november or early december so they may have changed that in the system software or it may be a thing it only did to some people idk. But it's good to do that if you don't like hearing it checking the disc periodically too lol.

I thought the PS5 trying to download the PS4 version after I deleted it was a bug. Now that I think about it, I deleted the PS4 version of Mortal Kombat 11 and it hasn’t tried to download again, so DBD should work the same way. It is annoying having to delete the download for the PS4 version every time I turn the PS5 on.

And I already got the free disc upgrade, this is just an old thread from before the PS5 launched.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/205512/clarification-for-disc-ps4-to-ps5-upgrade

When you have the PS4 disc in your PS5, go to the DBD icon, scroll down to its game hub, and if there is not a prominent square icon to the right of your screen offering you a free upgrade, then it’s possible to get an upgrade for free. If you can upgrade, you’ll still need to use the PS4 disc every time you want to play (always push options on the DBD icon to check it will load the PS5 version, not the PS4 version).

Otherwise if it’s missing, then no free upgrade.

The base digital copy is on sale on the PSN store. If you buy just that, all your PS4 DLC you’ve ever purchased does transfer over to your PS5 copy.

Yeah that's what I did, this thread was from before my PS5 had been delivered. The FAQ was saying that there was no free upgrade with the disc but Sony was saying that there was (and their additional information link didn't help). Thankfully Sony turned out to be right. The devs updated the FAQ to say that it would upgrade.

    @Sewer_Mage said:

Can I just say I have the disc PS4 version and was able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free, including upgrading all of my bought DLC's so I think there was a lot of missinformation with this post. Disc games can be upgraded, unless a developper says no

That's exactly what the devs said though. Back then, their FAQ was saying that you couldn't upgrade the disc version for free and the additional information page that they linked to didn't help (the FAQ has now been updated). Sony then updated the DBD page in the PS Store to say that you could upgrade the disc for free (the opposite of what BHVR said). I had one company saying one thing and the other saying the opposite. Sony turned out to be right and the disc could be upgraded.

I also wanted to know why the disc was supposed to ineligible for upgrade and if we'd eventually get one in the future.

  • If you don't like the antidote, then you don't have to use it. Just play Clown with the tonic and a buffed reload speed.

  • Just drop the item when you're about to get hit.

Also, it's just an item. Not that big of a deal unless you brought in your last event item, which is completely on you as you knew the risk of bringing your last limited item into a match.

  • Disappointed but not surprised about the loss of his Exhaustion add-ons. Gotta keep those bad Survivors happy! Surprised that Redhead's Pinky Finger stayed, I was expecting that one to go.

The new VHS Porn sounds interesting.

The meme add-on (Party Bottle) actually doesn't sound that bad because it's not weakening the Clown's power. Other Killers like Freddy have their power nerfed in exchange for more BP but not Clown. He's getting the confetti effect in addition to his normal gas effects.

  • The devs might be going for a complete rework instead of just a graphical update, which will take longer. Hopefully that’s the reason and it’s not that the devs are oblivious to this map’s problems.

  • The only good thing is that Adepts will be easier (rank resets you to 20 where the requirements are easier and each Killer has a separate rank, no more having to get four Iridescents against red rank Survivors). That's it.

    @Xyvielia said:

When I see I’m getting lobbied up with players who have between 5-10 trophies, I’ll know MMR isn’t functioning properly.

They could also be playing the PS5 version where you have earn all the trophies over again. I've seen players with only 20 hours and 5 trophies on the PS5 version but 2000 and the platinum trophy on the PS4. If you're on PS5 you can check profiles to see which version that person's playing on (PS4 apparently isn't counted a different platform for some reason, and you can view that player's profile normally).

    Well, from what I understand...

Even when you are reset to 20 in future resets.... you keep your "MMR." So you will be rank 20 playing against others who were red rank previously. So technically, rank number itself will be meaningless, well... even more so

The Killer Adepts only care about the Emblems and if you double pipped or not. The requirements for double pipping are easier at gray ranks than red (red ranks require four Iridescents to double pip while gray allows you to have a couple of lower quality Emblems). With everyone being reset to 20, it’ll be easier to get the Killer Adepts because you won’t need four Iridescents (unless it takes you that long to get the Adept or you choose to wait until you get to red ranks).

  • They made the Adepts easier by resetting everyone to 20. Now you don't have to derank for hours to do them without having to pull your hair out because you're at red ranks and I love that. I can just wait a few days while everyone's being ranked by the MMR and then go for the Adept.

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Clown and new Game yet.

Disappointed but not surprised Undying got nerfed and that it was the only thing that got changed from Blight's chapter.

I'm really liking the hook counter, Crotus Prenn's confirmed rework, and new Survivor crawling animation.

  • I never really used you, but you helped out a LOT of people. I just don't like RNG based perks.

Also I am now expecting Devour Hope to get butchered in the near future.

  • We've tried this before and we always get the same result: nothing happens. The devs say they know about these issues but nothing ever happens, even with that gigantic 30-page thread we had a few months ago. Now that the current gen consoles have released and fixed the issues all by themselves, BHVR has one less incentive to fix last gen because they can just tell everyone to upgrade (even though both consoles are incredibly hard to get).

Also the only issue I don't remember having on PS4 before I upgraded is Badham having frame issues. Everything else I remember, which is incredibly disappointing but not very surprising. Something I'm surprised to not see is frame drops when playing Doctor or when a Survivor tries a 360. Does that mean they actually fixed those issues? They've been around for a long time.

  • The Game before Coldwind or Haddonfield? Really? Very glad Crotus Prenn is getting changed though. Good riddance Disturbed Ward!

  • Almo streams himself on Twitch playing public games as both sides.

  • Why else are Killers losing their Exhaustion add-ons? Too many Survivors rely on Exhaustion perks and cry to the devs when they can’t fall back on them instead of trying to get better.

  • Don't forget his rocket launcher! He has to have it in some way. Also he would need a good power to make up for his height because he'll likely have the same problem as Plague where their height makes it easier for Survivors to see them over loops. Nemesis is a big fella.

    @TheStabbiNAngeL said:

I agree Nemesis would make a great addition to DBD, he'll be using his tendrils and fist most likely, this would be so cool to have him and just the chapter in general.Hope we get original Re3 Nemesis and Remake as a Legendary.

Wouldn't Remake be a regular outfit because it's still Nemesis? I would think Mr. X would be a legendary because he's a completely different character (which is what Legendaries are for). I really hope they go all out for this chapter and give us Jill and Nemesis's classic and remake outfits (including the STARS uniform for Jill) for free. An RE chapter would likely release during the fifth anniversary event, BHVR should go crazy with the free stuff!

    @QwQw said:

The only problem with this is Neme is like 8 or 9 feet tall. The devs would have to rework literally every doorway in the game for him to fit correctly. This is why Mr. X would work better as a Tyrant for this game, he's very tall, but not as tall as Nemesis. Personally, as I have said many a time before, I'd like to see Jack from Resident Evil 7. He has a human body, isn't tyrant level tall, and is scary.

We can just shrink him to Plague or Huntress's height. They're pretty tall and work just fine (Plague even walks upright).

  • Nemesis and Jill. That's all I want from the year 5 chapters.

  • Solvent Jug (Exhaustion when Intoxicated) because too many Survivors use their Exhaustion perks as crutches.

  • Depends.

Am I trying to have a normal game? They're annoying, but I'll try to slaughter them all and bathe in their salt. The Entity is usually very pleased with the results.

Am I trying to finish a challenge or trophy? Then I ######### hate them because usually they'll make whatever I'm trying to finish even harder and I prioritize challenges and trophies over winning. I'll take zero kills and a depip if it means completing whatever I needed to.

  • The only things I'd change about him is revert the slowdown add-on number nerfs but make it so they can't stack. Outdoor Rope was butchered when the devs changed it, 2% slowdown is absolutely nothing. That's not even a single stack of Thanatophobia!

  • Are you counting add-ons or is this just their base kit? If you are, then I'd move Doctor to A tier.

    • Nemesis and Jill as playable characters with their OG skins being free
    • Turning Killer Adepts a 4k while also getting around Sony's stupid requirements
    • Coldwind rework
    • More Bloodhunts
    • Survivor lock in lobby (no more quickswitching at 6 seconds)
    • Custom game so you can test things without having to go into a public match or find a friend

I really don't think it's THAT much of a reach. It's a pretty obvious reference if it ends up happening. Any respectable RE fan would see that and think S.T.A.R.S lol

Personally I'll believe a Resident Evil chapter when I see it just like Silent Hill. NOBODY expected Silent Hill at all because of how stingy Konami is and yet here we are.

I can honestly see Capcom working with Behavior for this, it would give them massive publicity and I really don't see why they wouldn't? Idk some people have said "Oh Capcom would NEVER do such a thing" but like why not? Lol

It would cause an insane hype storm and everyone would go wild like they did for Silent Hill and Capcom has big remakes in the works so surely they want to keep eyes on them.

But yeah I'm hoping we get RE chapter lol the only thing that would be better than Jill and Nemesis is if we got a surprise double survivor with Leon as well but again I'm not hopeful about anything and won't believe anything until I see it from official DBD team.

It would also generate more hype for Resident Evil 8, the Netflix series, and the movie reboot, all of which are supposed to release this year.

Regardless of the server issues, when Ghostface is standing still, and the survivor also isn’t going anywhere, GF gets revealed very quickly.

Oh he's standing still and they aren't trying to reveal him? Ok then yeah that's really stupid. Maybe they're working with him?

  • @Toybasher said:

I believe the hatch spawning at 5 gens left is partially there to prevent hostage situations where the last survivor could simply hide around the map waiting for the killer to give up and DC. We already see this happen sometimes at 2 survivors left.

Insta-downing someone with Clown's Pinky Finger, having 3 survivors DC, last one yeets into the hatch, and getting a depip for my troubles does annoy me however.

I hate that too, but that's an Emblem problem (which hopefully will be fixed soon, unless the devs just remove Emblems entirely because of MMR). You don't even need three DCs. If two DC, you kill one, and the last one escapes, you'll depip. I had a game about a week ago where that exact situation almost happened. Two DCed at the start of the match and two dead but I barely got a safety pip in red ranks. I was playing Freddy, so no instadowns or damaging powers. It was all M1 hits. All I could think of was "Holy #########, these Emblems suck." It isn't even a Freddy exclusive thing before anyone gives me that, it could happen to any of the Killers.

  • How do you know they aren't trying? They could be trying but don't get it off because of how inconsistent his reveal is. I don't think that there's a way to tell as Survivor if someone else is trying to reveal him. All you see is the flash when he is revealed.

  • I am going to be so disappointed if this is just a reach. I've been dying for an RE chapter even since I started the series with RE3 last August.
