It does, having a survivor escape me at 5 gens even though I was rolling the team should not happen. If that survivor played so well, why didn't he do a gen?
That Survivor was trying to help his teammates before he realized that they sucked or destroy totems in preparation for NOED or Undying.
-
It's there for when your teammates suck or just suicide on hook. That's not your fault at all if the matchmaking screwed up or the Survivors couldn't easily bully the Killer.

Yeah, that is hackers alright.
We had a freddy flying around and throwing hatchets at everyone from the sky earlier today.
Yesterday I had a match where everyone was deliverancing off hook- but no one had deliverance. They would go broken for like 2 seconds as well and then IMMEDIATELY go to full health as well.
They have to do something about it; it's getting out of bloody control.
Freddy throwing hatchets and flying around? Please tell you have footage of this (to report the hacker and because that sounds hilarious).
-
Bloodpoints or hard challenges/achievements. Personally I think it's boring, but I can understand why other people do it.
-
Several Moris are gruesome, you play as several iconic horror characters and the game's themes are pretty violent. You're literally going around and murdering people because a big spider in the sky tells you to.
-
I loved the Doctor rework. At first I was terrified that they were going to butcher him but once I saw the PTB footage and then actually got to play as him, I was overjoyed. I couldn't believe that this was the Doctor. And then they buffed him when the next chapter came out! This has got to be the best update BHVR did to Killer.
I'm excited to see the Clown, Demo, and Wraith changes and key reworks.

I’m more referring to toning down the annoying part of all the loud ass whispers and the screen distortions. The time wasting aspect is fine. After a minute or two it’s just too much and I’m considering dying just to shut it all up.
Either not enough people find them as annoying as you do to change them or they are intended. The whispers were added in a future patch and I think the screen distortions were there from the beginning. I don't see them being removed anytime soon. I'm honestly surprised they're still here, I would've expected a lot more people to find them annoying.
-
As Killer, no There's several Killers that I like (Doctor, Freddy, Demogorgon, Plague, Wraith, Blight, Myers, and Clown), but I play Doctor and Freddy the most (trying to get the most out of Freddy just in case his upcoming changes butcher him and I've loved Doctor since 2017).
For Survivor I main Laurie right now but I'm considering adding David. Laurie is because I'm a big Halloween fan and David just seems like the coolest original Survivor.
-
Both suck but Haddonfield is much worse.
-
2021? You mean December 32nd, 2020?
-
You don’t always want to immediately teleport as Hag.
-
I saw a lot of keys and toolboxes yesterday. Not sure why.
-
With add-ons, he definitely is. Remove them and he drops to B tier because of his lack of mobility. Mobility is really important against good Survivors.

Rather have Leon over Jill.
I wouldn’t mind Leon, but Jill would fit better considering she was the one Nemesis pursued for the entire game. Maybe he could be a second Survivor but I doubt it considering his lack of connections to the events of RE3. I think he’ll end up as a legendary outfit to Chris or Carlos, unless we get something from RE2, 4, or 6 in the future. Maybe a Birkin + Leon chapter?

That doesn't make any sense.
If the killer is close enough to hit you through a pallet drop, the optimal play is to not drop the pallet and take the hit. It's playing smart. That's like saying, if I have a stun challenge and the killer sees me jump in a locker but doesn't let me head on them, they are purposely preventing me from progressing my challenge.
You're not always the victim of someone going out of their way to get you.
It was at the end of the game. I had either two dead and one slugged or three dead. The Hatch was also closed. Conserving pallets does not matter at that point because you’re going to die. I used Doctor and Freddy for these challenges, so I would think they’d drop pallets early to avoid their powers. In one of the games, I had a Meg as the last Survivor who was injured and actively avoided pallets. She only used windows. I wasn’t even attacking her. We ran through a junk tile together and she didn’t drop the pallet. Instead she went to the L/T wall and started vaulting it. After that, she started running to a jungle gym but turned away once she saw that the pallet was still up. You seriously can’t tell me that’s not toxic. She was basically telling me that she’d rather die than give me progress towards my challenge. This is just one of my experiences.
-
HOLY ######### YES please let this be right! I will lose it if Nemesis makes it into DBD. If he’s in, then it means Jill Valentine will most likely be the Survivor, which would be awesome!
-
It isn’t always Survivors trying to conserve pallets unfortunately. Sometimes you’ll run into toxic Survivors who correctly guess that you’re doing a challenge and they’ll refuse to drop pallets. I’ve had Survivors run through a pallet with me breathing down their neck and they refuse to drop it or only use windows. They’d rather die than give me progress towards my challenge.
-
Haha this has to be a joke. Nobody likes anti-consumer crap like this. You’re locking behind saved loadouts and faster matchmaking behind a paywall and adding in loot boxes. We’re not Activision or 2K here, this crap won’t fly with us.

Doctor: BBQ, Distressing, Pop, and Surveillance with Iridescent King and High Stimulus Electrode.
BBQ is a good perk in general, but with Doctor I know where exactly I should use my Static Blast and can be really helpful when playing against hook rushers.
Distressing gives Static Blast a bigger radius so I’ll hit more Survivors with it. It makes my blast the same size as BBQ’s blind spot, so I can use it to reveal anyone hiding near me and screw with some hook rushers. Of course this can backfire if everyone’s in a locker, but it can pretty effective when it works.
Pop is a really good perk, removing 25% of a gen’s progress can be a lifesaver. Doctor being able to stop Survivors from working on gens either through his shock therapy or Madness 3 means that I’ll get more chances to use it and the gen will be regressing longer because the Survivor can’t tap it.
Surveillance is a personal choice. I could probably bring something better like Whispers, Corrupt, or Thrilling, but I chose Surveillance so I know which gens Survivors are pushing at all times. I don’t want to go and use Pop or Static Blast only to find out that everyone’s far away from me on other gens. With Surveillance, I’ll know if Survivors are nearby.
Iridescent King gives me all the afflictions at once so I don’t have to worry about which add-on to take. They may not be that much on their own, but they can be deadly when they’re all active.
High Stimulus Electrode went from meh to one of his best add-ons after its buff. It used to give you a much longer shock range but it took longer to charge it. Now the charge time penalty is gone and this add-on is amazing. You can stop so many more loops with it and get hits in quicker because your shock range isn’t ridiculously small anymore and you don’t have to wait forever for it to charge. It’s done so much work for me and I don’t see myself playing Doctor without it.
-
None right now, I’m only to have P3 on Myers and maybe Bubba. I actually like Myers’s bloody mask.
-
They don’t like something you’re using and are trying to get it nerfed. Usually it’s a Killer but can be one of their perks or add-ons too. Suicides are counted as kills and it’ll look bad if there’s a lot of DCs against something.
Some people will DC or suicide at any sign of the Killer playing optimally because it’ll be harder to bully them, even if it’s someone who’s considered weak like Clown, Legion, or Trapper.
Of course there’s the players who either have to go right at the beginning of a match or everyone else wants to farm (which is probably the most boring experience in the game and eating the DC penalty is often better), but those people aren’t as common as the ones who get upset over who the Killer is or how skilled they are.

Couldn’t the sweater be bought with shards, meaning that it was already free and that Auric Cells weren’t necessary?

Mobile gets a bloodhunt like every other week. Seems odd they have no issues doing blood hunts that often in first year but it's too difficult to do it for pc/console that's been out for 4 years.
That might be because of how bad mobile DBD can be. It’s even worse than PC/console. If you think current Haddonfield is bad, then try playing on it with EVERY window open. All of the extra points could be an attempt to keep players from leaving due to all the bugs.
Or it could be because the PC/console team is super stingy for some reason. Maybe it’s their precious bloodpoint economy or something.
-
Nope. They didn’t give us the winter themed lobby and environment, just a really low amount of points and occasionally shards and cosmetics. They even locked Frosty Eyes, a cosmetic normally given to everyone for free, behind a limited time code. The only reason this wasn’t a complete failure was because of the bonuses for Christmas, New Year’s, and the bugs/error compensations.

I'm surprised that some people complain about this, $5 to $10 bucks is really cheap, there's mobile games who try to sell you a skin for $40 - $60 bucks, and some other more popular games charge you from $80 to $120 bucks for a skin package...
Ok I don’t know what games you’re playing but they obviously have terrible monetization systems and need to go as well and shouldn’t be used as example to say that DBD’s is fine.

Freddy:
BBQ
Pop
Surveillance
Thrilling Tremors
Red Paint Brush and Swing Chains
Spirit:
BBQ
Sloppy
Pop
Surveillance
Dirty Uwabaki and Katusmori Talisman or Wakizashi Saya and Katana Tsuba
If you can’t tell, I really like BBQ+Pop+Surveillance as a combo, it’s strong and doesn’t rely on RNG like Ruin+Undying. That’s the only reason I don’t really use those perks. I’m not a fan of being down two perks because of bad RNG.
-
Unfortunately it’s probably going to be removed. Too many Survivors rely on them for crutches. It sucks seeing a Survivor that keeps vaulting at the wrong time get saved because of Lithe. No skill there whatsoever, just a bad play being covered up by an Exhaustion perk. Doctor already lost his (although he gained a LOT in return), and Clown and Huntress will likely join him.

Mine’s been stuck at 12 on PS5 for a couple of weeks now.

Same on PC. I also just noticed that the Milk n' Cookies doesn't work anymore either (the one where you have to take stuff from the basement chest). Mine's stuck on 19, and my basement hook progress is stuck on 13. It's very annoying, since it's kind of easy achievments to get otherwise and I want to have them "done" and not in the progress-list.
I think you have to escape with the item from the basement chest. Unless you’ve done that and it’s still not updating?

Is that so surprising?
This was no different than with cross gen PS3 & PS4 games. Trophies for PS3 games that had a PS4 version of the game didn’t transfer either.
Some PS3 and PS4 games didn’t require you to start over. Resident Evil 1 Remake has them on the same trophy list.
Also some PS4 to PS5 games have the trophies transfer when you switch (COD: Cold War, Destiny 2, and Spider-Man Remastered for examples), so it is possible, but BHVR said they couldn’t do it right now because of technical limitations.
-
Yep. And people will eat it up without a second thought. This is the reason I rarely buy cosmetics, I’m not dropping $10+ for something I’ll barely use. It needs to be a really good cosmetic for me to drop $10 or $15.
-
It was slapped on because that was the chapter it was introduced in. I wouldn’t be surprised if Demo originally wasn’t going to have Undetectable. The add-ons for it also feel rushed (rare one gives only 0.5 extra seconds, very rare one gives only 1, ultra rare gives I think 10 seconds but you also have to wait much longer to teleport).
-
Can you show us clips?
-
It’s been working great for me on PS5. Hits that looked like they were going to miss because of a random object being nearby actually didn’t. I was shocked that those hits were connecting because I was so used to the game choosing to hit a rock or tree instead. I’ve only had one bad hit where the game hit a window instead of the Survivor vaulting it.
As Survivor, I’ve only had one really bad hit, but I think that might have been a problem with something else (unless Clown now has a short range teleport).
-
It’s for when toxic people run out of excuses to be mad at you. They just start saying things in hopes of getting your attention. I’ve had people message me about my trophies and games before when they couldn’t come up with a reason to be mad at me (really scraping the bottom the barrel there). I either ignore them or just say something like “lol” and leave. In addition to making your messages private, you can close the chat on PC, meaning nobody can send you toxic messages.
-
Add all the Endurance perks (BT, Soul Guard, MoM, etc) to that.
-
Medkits so I can heal faster and toolboxes for when we really need some gen progress.

Right now Outdoor Rope and Jump Rope apply 2% and 4% penalties respectively and Swing Chains values are 2% per survivor in the Dream World, varying between 0 and 8%. The best set up you can get is 12% with everyone in the dream world and the 2 best addons. A full stacked Thanatophobia grants 20% repair speed penalty, and Thana is considered niche. A single failed skill check regresses a gen 10%, that is almost equivalent to using current Jump Rope+Swing Chains with 3 survivors in the dream world. Compare that to pop that has activation requirement, regresses by 25% and requires you to waste time going to and kicking the gen.
Pop doesn’t need a skillcheck to activate though. You have to activate it yourself, not the Survivors. Your new slowdown add-ons would and Survivors have already learned to how to hit them. All of that regression goes away if the Survivor is good at skill checks and you’re now left with two nearly useless add-ons. I’m fine with changing these add-ons, but not in a way that makes them useless against good Survivors.
-
So turn the add-ons into a worse version of Unnerving, which is already a bad perk? That's what it sounds like you want to do.
-
But how else will I inflate Killer kill rates in hopes of getting them nerfed? I'm pretty sure the stats don't count DCs.
-
Yeah I’ve lost a couple Survivors recently because the scratch marks just vanish out of nowhere and then randomly pick back up. It’s mainly on the new maps but one time it was on Father Campbell’s Chapel. None of them had Dance With Me equipped.
-
Revert the rope add-on number nerfs but make it so they can’t stack. You’ll only be able to take one slowdown add-on (Outdoor Rope, Jump Rope, or Swing Chains). What does Outdoor Rope do anyways, like 4% slowdown? That’s nothing.
@youngjun said:
I think Freddy doesn't need change. Just NA server users don't know how to deal with Freddy. In Korean server red ranks, nobody pick Freddy. Because nurse and spirit is better and Korean survivors are good at facing Freddy.
That’s really interesting if you’re telling the truth. Korean users are able to perform well against Freddy but NA users aren’t? Why?
-
I think the devs added them because they sound cool, but unfortunately they end up screwing the Killer over balance wise. All Demo has to do is exist and every Survivor on the map knows what it’s doing. Hopefully the devs decide to remove most of Demo’s mapwide audio cues when doing its add-on pass.
-
It’s so they can get him nerfed (or “changed”, as the devs like to call it) like they did Nurse. Freddy is just an M1 Killer with a teleport and some anti loop. I just respect what he can do and that usually works out for me. We really need to see stats that don’t take DCs and suicides into account. He might still be at the top, but his numbers most likely will not be anywhere near as high.
-
Lol are you serious? Nerfing a perk that encourages the Killer not to camp and has several counters? Sounds like you need to get good.
Also that suggestion would encourage camping, which is something you don’t want to do.
-
If I’m letting you live, then it’s because I know you want to use DS or an Endurance perk on me so I leave you and come back later or I’m trying to beat a stupid challenge so I need you guys to do stuff. I never willingly let someone escape (as in, carrying them to the Hatch or letting them open a gate). I don’t care how memey you were, if you’re in my game, then I will try to kill you. No exceptions.
-
Same thing with Thorough Destruction (kick 15 pallets and/or gens in one match). They’re both controlled by the Survivors or they force you to make the match boring for yourself (and probably for the Survivors too).
The EGC challenges rely on you getting lucky with RNG (Hatch location, gate spawn, the sound not bugging out) and having Survivors that are good enough to get there but aren’t godly at the game so they demolish you. Thorough Destruction also needs those types of Survivors. All I got while attempting it were Survivors that went down too quickly (either because they were bad or just really wanted a stun against Doctor and Freddy) I had one game where they actually lasted more than 10 minutes but they were also obsessed with the stun. It’s almost like they knew what I was trying to do. In order to beat either of these challenges I had to extend the match which was pretty boring. I could’ve just slaughtered them all but nope, I had to let them run around and drop pallets or repair gens just for a stupid challenge.
I’ve said this a bunch of times, but I think the Archive team either has no idea how the game is actually played or is using the Archives as a testing ground to see what’s broken or how people actually play this game. Notice how we haven’t got anything like Six Feet Under (basement 4k) again? I think the devs actually saw our feedback and realized that killing everyone in the basement is actually extremely rare and decided that it was a BS challenge.
-
I think we underestimated how much smaller this event would be. I guess the next time BHVR says it'll be smaller, then it'll be miniscule.
Also the Frosty Eyes should be given out to everyone, like with all the other Killers. I think it's BS that Deathslinger and Twins have their Frosty Eyes locked behind a limited time code. Did the devs just run out of ideas and threw the Frosty Eyes in there? Why not a past Christmas cosmetic?
-
@lagosta said:
I believe that what stops the deep wound counter is holding Shift, not moving. Also, while holding Shift you cannot snap out of it so your best bet if your counter is really low is to find a teammate to mend you.
It doesn’t sound like that. It sounds like the OP is unable to move at all because the game prioritizing Snap Out of It over moving. They are a sitting duck.
@GoshJosh I’m not sure why this is happening, but I’m going to say it’s not common otherwise the devs would have either disabled Doctor or released a quick update to fix him. That sounds like a pretty gamebreaking bug, being unable to run or even walk because the game is forcing you to Snap Out of It.

How is Series S weaker? Can you explain the difference between S and X?
Series S is next gen gaming but on a budget ($300 vs the Series X's $500). You get everything the Series X can but with worse performance (like lower graphics). I've heard it's having problems with other games, like the resolution ends up at 720p or even around 500p. Given how bad DBD ran on last gen consoles, you might have some problems on Series S. I also have not seen anybody bring up the Series S and playing DBD, it's always the Series X or PS5.
It's also digital only. If you have a bunch of discs, then they're useless with Series S.
-
I'm on PS5 and it runs really well. I didn't notice any problems with the main menu. The PS5 is weaker than Series X, so I would think it'd run just as well (if not better) on the Series X.
I can't say anything about the Series S though because it's much weaker than the other two.
