@Smoe I don't see that anything has improved. if anything, it's gotten worse.
Cheating ain't gonna disappear regardless of how much work you put into it, it's an ongoing battle.
Previous vulnerabilities at the time may have been fixed, but new ones are bound to pop up.

They can't add Young Ash because the license bhvr has is for Ash vs. Evil Dead and not for Evil Dead 2.

What happened was that we got what was promised on it, we're now on the last part.

It's always possible, it just takes two guys to pull their heads out of their butts and share some free money.
Jason's not becoming more valuable with time. Leatherface is staying relevant. I love both, I have zero Jason collectables, tons of Leatherface. I'd like to see them smarten up before everyone forgets Jason.
Jason got an upcoming game on the way, so he's not staying completely irrelevant.

I like your list, and since you added the Djinn,i would like to add Warlock (Warlock 1989). Also Herbert West.
Yeah Herbert West from Stuart Gordon's adaptation of Re-Animator would be nice, as well as others such as Elvira: Mistress of the dark or Bruce Campbell's Elvis from Bubba Ho-tep to name a few, however i only included killers as that's what the thread asked for.

Myers Hospital Gown/Weapons
All of Detective Tapp's/The Pig's outfits
Most of Ghost Face's outfits (he does have a set or two)
Steve, Nancy and Demo's cosmetics before they were removed (Rest in peace)
Cenobite's 1 torso cosmetic (Granted it was probably going to be a set according to dataminers)
I think that's all of them?
You missed Leatherface's outfits, otherwise you got them all.

Honestly, I'm not even sure Michael Myers can be killed by anyone else than Laurie Strode. So I'd bet my money on Mickey any day.
idk man, i don't think even Myers could survive getting dismembered by someone like Zombie Jason or getting shredded like he did in Halloween Ends.

Demogorgon should be the only exception who gets to bring Hawkins hooks with him into other maps just so we get to see those hooks again, otherwise i'd say keep hooks map tied.

I think Michael could ambush Nemesis and stab him in the head
Considering Nemesis is programmed to evolve through mutation to adapt to any danger thrown at him, i don't think melee weapons would be enough to kill him no matter how much you use it on him.
After all, Nemesis has survived rocket launcher shots, multiple explosions to the face, being set on fire, a barrage of bullets and direct contact with acid.

That would be a fair assessment if it were Halloween 1 Michael
He'd probably take out the Singularity and...that's about it from that list. I think he'd have a chance against Wesker the same way I'd have a chance in a fight against Mike Tyson; technically correct buuuut...
Considering Wesker is capable of boosting himself up like he did in his final boss form at the end of RE5, i still think Myers would lose that fight.

The problem with Lore Accurate Michael Myers is it depends on which lore you're talking about
He's either an immortal unstoppable killing machine that you can put down but can never actually take out or just a really big dude with a knife and just about everything in-between
Cause like...being immortal would make him really hard to kill. Being a big dude with a knife would make him relatively easy to kill.
The only lore accurate Michael that matters in dbd is the one from the first movie since that's the movie the dlc is based after.
I'd say for as strong as he is along with superhuman endurance, Michael is in the end still only human with a human body and wouldn't stand a chance against more powerful characters, specifically supernatural ones like Spirit & Onryo or Overpowered killing machines like Oni, Knight and specifically Nemesis.
-
I'd rather have John Kramer voicelines for Jigsaw boxes whenever Survivors with a RBT on approach or interacts with them than i would have a Legendary outfit of John Kramer.
Hoffman i guess would be fine as a Pig legendary outfit, although some Survivor legendary outfits for Tapp would be nice too.
-
I wouldn't mind if they changed it back to the ptb version, the terror radius buildup layers were amazing.
It's just the chase music that needed some slight adjustments.

More like this:
Tentacle Strike
- Nemesis no longer has access to the Lunge Attack ability, but still has access to the Basic Attack ability.
- Tentacle Strike replaces the ability to Lunge Attack, now being charge-based (1 second) with more charging increasing its range. Once fully charged, it can be held but slows Nemesis down when being held.
- Tentacle Strike can still hit Survivors over pallets and certain areas, but due to the highly telegraphed start-up this should not be an issue.
- Tentacle Strike still counts as a Special Attack, preventing it from being stacked with perks such as Sloppy Butcher or Save the Best for Last.
- Tentacle Strike still requires the Survivor be Contaminated before being able to injure them.
Contamination
- Contamination now builds up over time upon a Survivor being hit by Tentacle Strike and can be further increased with more hits.
- Contamination now has a negative downside of the Infected Status Effect, which causes Survivors to continuously cough loudly and allows Tentacle Strike to put them into the Dying State in one hit.
- Vaccines can now respawn over a period of 60 seconds per Supply Case.
- Vaccines now stop the progression of Contamination and cause it to decay over time, but if the Survivor is hit by Tentacle Strike or a Zombie again, the progression will resume but they will not receive instant progression.
- Vaccines fully decontaminate any Survivor that is afflicted with the Infected Status Effect.
Mutation
- Mutation is now a progressive system similar to Blood Fury.
- Mutation requires a total of 15 points in order to reach Maximum Mutation.
- Maximum Mutation grants the following effects to Tentacle Strike:
- Increases Tentacle Strike range by 1 meter if held for an additional 0.3 seconds after fully charging.
- Grants Tentacle Strike the ability to break pallets and walls upon fully charging.
- Grants Tentacle Strike the ability to damage and contaminate Generators.
Rocket Launcher
- Rocket Launcher replaces the Tentacle Strike ability as the Power Button attack.
- Rocket Launcher is another charge-based attack that slows Nemesis down by a significant amount (-75%), but allows him to send out a singular projectile towards an unfortunate Survivor.
- Rocket Launcher isn't loaded at the start of the Trial, instead taking 30 seconds for the first one to load.
- Rocket Launcher missiles take 60 seconds to reload after being fired, but this can be shortened using Tentacle Strike.
- Rocket Launcher missile cooldown can be seen on the launcher itself.
- Rocket Launcher has a laser sight that indicates where it is going to fire, allowing for Survivors to possibly counter it.
- Missiles can break pallets and walls, or damage generators, on direct hit with them.
- Survivors and Nemesis can hear Nemesis roaring when he brings up the Rocket Launcher.
- Survivors directly hit by a missile (or within 1 meter of the blast) will be injured by the attack.
- Survivors within the splash zone of the missile will be Hindered (-20%) for 5 seconds and be revealed by Killer Instinct for that duration of time.
Zombies
- Zombies now have a new ability to those that are Infected. When within range of an Infected survivor, the Zombie will dash forward up to two times in order to try grabbing at and biting the vulnerable Survivor, which damages them.
- Zombies can also further increase the contamination progress of a Survivor when they hit them.
- Zombies can be notified to go to a specific location by the explosion sound of the Rocket Launcher.
- Zombies have AI pathing improvements and animation changes to make them feel like they do in the RE games.
Pretty much a change that could redefine how Killers can be made, and gives Nemesis more identity as himself with the addition of the Rocket Launcher. (The Rocket Launcher might be hotly debated, but it's one of his most defining features as a horror antagonist and is very easy to balance in a game like this.)
I'd take his sprint ability over the rocket launcher as it doesn't really belong in this game.

IIRC, they tried porting it to some other processors (this was before the days of 64-bit Windows), but it had some kind of a serious bug that rendered it unplayable, so it wasn't recompiled for Windows Vista. There are some articles about it online.

Have you read the Arcus logs? I'm just making a more generic outline:
"The atmosphere of the realms is dark and grim to say the least but also… everchanging. I've already remarked that the atmosphere is misty even foggy at times and that this fog feels alive. It seems to contain swirls and streams of memories or imprints of beings from multiple terra worlds. It is as if The Entity absorbs all the psychic energy and thoughts of beings it snatches as it journeys through the endless cosmos."
"End the trials. Destroy its ability to sap dark nectar from victims like a cruel parasite feeding from a flower. At least the Archives affords me a better understanding of the Entity… why it moves from universe to universe, picking victims off and devouring worlds as though at a cosmic buffet. What I have yet to conclude is whether it is attracted to worlds that are brimming with darkness and madness or if it is in fact the catalyst of such darkness and madness."
"All planes of existence are a unique mix of conscious Auric particles and material particles. The Entity is almost certainly pure consciousness… The observable fact of existence is the material world responds to and changes with consciousness… collective consciousness is the key… The body, the home, the trial—all of it is an expression of The Entity's unconscious need for fear and terror."
Still seems as the entity is malevolent and consciously acting out the trials, true.
Then it gets to this part
"Life is not life in this prison, and death is not an escape. It is merely the start of a new trial and most survivors are aware they are caught in something they will never understand. Why this is all happening is no longer obvious to me. The truth is… I don't know what to believe anymore… The Entity is… not what it is… or what I thought it was…"
"Things could have been worse. I could have been banished in a dimension without Auric Fog containing the memory imprints of countless victims, memories that keep me entertained and busy with my coin and spirit collections... and the music... the variations from parallel worlds... it helps pass the time. In a twisted way I think what I'm admitting is that I'm glad The Entity takes what it wants when it wants from the omniverse."
"There is a curiosity at the core of every thinking person. A need for knowledge from uncharted and unknowable territories, but what is discovered in those blank spaces of the abyss... of the cosmos are things far too immense to understand. Things better left unobserved lest they undermine our sanity. Better to embrace ignorance than face the truth of our insignificance in the grand scheme of it all. Against the vastness of the infinite we are mere microbes swirling in an endless, indifferent cosmic stew. I say stew… but The Entity is probably more of a blood pudding."
"I have recently wondered if Survivors realise the titanic significance of their thoughts and feelings, and of how The Entity uses them to furnish the trials. Thoughts and feelings that bring me glimpses of what it's like to have lived on a parallel world as someone else. It helps pass the time."
It can still be said that the Entity itself does direct the layouts of the Trials.
"More luminous energy sent to me by an unknown ally. With this energy, I was able to open a small window that allowed me to look into a lost realm where I saw to my great surprise a city with survivors living as though nothing was out of the ordinary. The window eventually closed, and I spent the entire evening imagining how such a thing could be possible or if it was merely an illusion. The same night another surge of energy permitted me to open a doorway into a realm I didn't much recognise or dare explore. I stared at the scintillating doorway until it faded out of existence. It's as though the one manifesting these sacred glyphs is trying to help me delve deeper into the mysteries of this dimension or, perhaps, he is suggesting that the answers to my salvation are hidden amongst the countless realms discarded by this Old One since time immemorial."
"I have uncovered to my amazement and bewilderment memories of Claudette that are unlike any of those I've previously experienced. One might even say they should not belong to her... and yet... they are hers. I surmise these memories may belong to another Claudette from another Terra world, suggesting that this Old One may have clear preferences at the cosmic buffet for certain souls. It will take more samples of these memories to know if they are in fact from another Claudette or if, and it is possible, I am having troubles deciphering between her actual memories and her creative musings."
"I have often wondered if those trapped here have ever paused to reflect upon the inexplicable significance of this world that defies not only time and space but death. A world made of memories that is neither consistent or constant. Something akin to a collective dream made of the collective memories and beliefs of its inhabitants. Sometimes I wonder if not all worlds were like this in some respect and that reality is what we in fact dream it to be or believe it to be."
"Stories and journals are scattered everywhere. So much to read… and yet I find myself drawn to the scribblings and renditions of the unknown creator I'm calling the Mad Designer. Journals filled with the wild sketches and musings of people I imagine are caught in other parts of this living dimension--people juxtaposed with other Terra worlds and timelines that make little or no sense to who they are or where they come from. The illustrations and notes are foolish, absurd and quite contradictory, and yet they bring moments of levity to my life which does the soul good. I suppose it's a form of absurd escapism I turn to when I'm not reading the more traditional stories. Interestingly enough, I found seventeen versions of a story featuring a killer named Evan written by seventeen versions of the same author from the omniverse. Seventeen similar stories with sometimes subtle, sometimes significant differences. What I find particularly interesting is how the stories are written as fiction in one world and non-fiction in another. It reminds me of Universus Alveo… a theory that suggests that the human mind might very well be equipped with a powerful networking mechanism that reaches out to other worlds for wisdom and knowledge from our other-selves. Some can use their minds in this way and others can't. The theory suggests that those who have experienced trauma in their formative years detach from their reality, allowing them to explore other realities and worlds with relative ease. Artists like magicians and shamans see small things in the big, unexplainable endless dream that is the omniverse and they bring these ideas or insights back to entertain, enlighten and inspire the world. Fiction in one world, non-fiction in another. Everything is real, or nothing is. And here in the Chamber of Blood there are countless horror stories of every variety. So many that it seems to me that one of the unknown prisoners was collecting these stories as a way to discover more about their imprisonment, the Entity and the terrible screams coming from the surrounding abyss. Whether this true or not, I'm not sure, but what I do know is I spent the whole night reading my favorite stories out loud like my father used to do by the fireplace. And the entire time I couldn't help but wonder… How? How could anyone have accessed and assembled such a rich collection of notes, journals and stories? I have no immediate answer, but I suspect by the texture and density of the fog that I may be in a place as complex, mysterious and misunderstood as a black hole—a living, breathing, all-consuming black hole, the serpent of infinity that gorges on its tail, that eats itself endlessly as it spirals downward into the cosmic, Fibonacci stew that is life incomprehensible."

This doesn't prove that there is a second Entity, only that truly understanding The Entity is beyond comprehension.

All of this doesn't prove that there are 2 Entities and neither does it prove that Jezabel/The Mad Designer has anything to do with the trials as that aspect is not even mentioned at any point in the entry that's talking about her.
The Entity is cosmic/existential horror. Not Jigsaw.
It's both, the other quotes that i didn't bother to address doesn't contradict the quotes that i did address.
The Entity is conscious, it's literally stated and shown to be as it's capable of using objects to communicate as seen with Billy the Puppet from the SAW tome trailer, it's been striking deals with killers to bring them into the trials or tortured killers if they don't submit to it's will, it's even been known to toy with people such as Talbot in the Human Quotation tome and so many other examples.
All of this is something only you don't seem to get, nobody else except you thinks these headcanons of yours are legit and if you were to ask the lore guys at bhvr, i guarantee you they would say you're wrong as well.
Nowhere in any of the tomes is it directly suggested or outright stated that someone else other than the cosmic force that The Entity is are controlling the trials and none of these quotes supports that notion your headcanon claim.
I'm just gonna leave it at that and not keep this conversation going any further because it's clear that i'm wasting my time on you.

The only changed he received from PTB to live is him alerting crows when shooting his gun
The ADS time was a nerf yes, but barely affected his viability as he's still regarded as one of the best chasers
Not to mention that the nerf to his ADS speed wasn't unwarranted as just about everyone and their grandmother were pissing & moaning about Deathslinger's original ADS speed right from chapter release and all the way up to the nerf itself.
It was a regular topic that was subject to complaints on the forum almost daily back then.

No, those skins were released a year later after Halloween 2018 had released, they were also still only related to the first movie and not to any of the 3 latest installments.
-
Unlikely to happen as dbd has never done any tie-in content in the past for new movie releases related to a franchise they have a license for.
-
Thing is, it quite frankly speaks for itself that Predator is coming in the future considering the fact that both IPs are owned solely by 20th Century Fox, so naturally the company obviously also owns Alien Vs Predator and that's why bhvr has access to that movie to use for content in dbd.

My headcannon heavily intertwines with the Arcus logs of the starting tomes. Which leans heavily into the same kind of sentient multiversal horror (Omniversal given IP crossovers), with its own interior multiverse. Which, if true. basically means that the Trials format is its own subdimension ("Universe", though I hesitate to call it that given all likely are finite in size) within The Entity.
My headcannon heavily intertwines with the Arcus logs of the starting tomes. Which leans heavily into the same kind of sentient multiversal horror
I mean that's all fine & dandy but that still doesn't change the fact that it is still only just that, a headcanon.
Unless the lore itself states these things as legit, it will never be canon regardless of how much you treat it as such.

Dude, queen Xeno even clips through the doors on Lerys because she is so tall - definitely the tallest killer by far
Then default Xeno would also clip through because the hive queen skin doesn't change the height while in match.

Queen Xeno is no less pay to lose than Default Xeno is, which is none at all because they're both the same size in-game.

tbh I wouldn't have minded either if they simply made the steam DLC a bit more expensive and said "Hey, this is our new standardised price for steam" but no, they have to be dishonest about it and try to pull the wool over people's eyes by doing this underhanded "no really its a bargain!" crap
Not sure about them being dishonest, because i don't think i've ever seen them ever claim that it was a bargain, only ones i've seen say that was community members on here.
Regardless however, best course of action would still be to keep pushing for change.
-
@Brokenbones said:
They've done this to hike up the price of the DLC without making it seem greedy
You have two options
Buy on steam for much higher price or buy auric cells, which by default were more expensive than steam.
Let's start calling it what it is, a a greedy unannounced price hike.
Thing is, i would have been okay with it if it was optional.
But as long as it isn't that, i'm just gonna wait for sale.

What exactly is wrong with Wesker and Legion chase music in your opinion?
Simply put, they fail as chase music in my eyes.
The purpose of chase music is to increase the tension of the life & death situation you're in as you run for your life with a threat in pursuit of you.
Chase music should have the feel that makes you want to run away from it in order to escape it.
Wesker's chase music isn't chase music, it's boss music, you know something you're suppose to fight rather than run away from, while yes it does fit his character, it doesn't work as chase music.
Legion's chase music fails as chase music because, while yes it is once again in character, it doesn't make you want to run away from it, it makes you want to jam out to it, which isn't what chase music should do.
-
We lost more than we gained with Xeno's new chase music, kinda disappointed ngl but it at least it still sounds like actual chase music compared to that of Wesker or Legion, which i hope they never do chase music like that again, if you can even call it that.

The Queen is only tall in the menu, however in match it's the same size as default Xeno when in a match.

@Smoe Many games and other creative projects have multiple composers, which can lead to great results. Some that come to mind are the original Halo trilogy and Cobra Kai. Clearly the current composer has too much work to do and could use some backup.
Ya I imagined it would be like RBTs with a ticking clock but instead of being applied on downed survivors, it would be proximity tripped like Hag traps.
Many games have more than one composer yes, but none of them got their composers simply just by hiring people who makes fan music for their game. Also you can clearly tell whenever a dbd track is fan made or not, most of them don't have the same vibe to them as Michel April's music.
BHVR isn't going to hire any fan creators as composers for dbd because most of them aren't professionals, it is the equivalent to the ''Nintendo, hire this man'' meme.
Also bhvr did consider facehuggers for Xeno early on, however due to the creature's complex lifecycle, it wouldn't be translated well into dbd's gameplay and was therefore scrapped. I doubt that even if we got a queen as it's own killer that Facehuggers & Chestbursters would make the cut simply because adding it as a power that can be removed like RBT would dump down it's significance to something less than what it was in Alien.

We sacrificed all the amazing buildup layers for a better chase music.
Now it's more Aliens than Alien.

inb4 someone makes an edit of the Mew's Guts Demo Add-On by renaming it to ''Jonesy's Guts''

Sure, i thought Xeno was fun & pretty good to play with, not S-Tier but still pretty good nonetheless.

Now that we got the Alien, a killer who can walk on all 4 legs. I´d like to have a Licker from RE as killer.
A Licker would powerwise just be xeno 2.0
Only difference is the attack with a tongue instead of a tail
No wall crawling after all.
-
They're obviously not gonna hire another composer when they already have one.
Also facehuggers as a power would just be RBT 2.0
-
They already do, they're called surveys.
-
I mean it's not like you can even play with whatever changes the patch note will contain untill tomorrow, so i don't see what the difference would even make if it was revealed now.

Source for wall crawling ability is Senior Game Designer Janick Neveu from BHVR:
""[...] originally, we pitched the idea of crawling on walls. Like it's something we explored, but it was turned off quite quickly. Just because of the sheer amount of work it would have involved because our game is not built that way, right, our killer walks on a plane and it's very solid that way. But as soon as we try to play with that, it becomes very fragile."
I'm aware of what Janick has said both in the interview and on this forum during the ptb, but considering that other features like AI og Xeno's tunnel system to name a few wasn't possible back in the day as well, however became possible later on because the game kept evolving, i makes me firmly believe that if the game continues to evolve, that we'll reach a point sooner or later where it'll be possible in some way or form.

I feel like the point isn't that xeno was supposed to have a different power altogether, but that the current design we ended up with feels lacking something.
Yes, i'm aware of that was the point but the focus of that reply was more directed at the Nemesis claim than about Xeno.
But to address that point about Xeno solely, i'm going to say that there isn't really much else you can realistically do with Xeno's kit as it stands.
- Wall Crawling currently isn't possible with how the game as a whole is designed and the sheer level of changes and work with everything it would require to even make it work
- Facehuggers' lifecycle would never have worked in a way that would do them justice, turning them into a slowdown mechanic would just make them a copy & paste of Pig's Beartraps & turning it into an aesthetic for the hooks would just be dumping them down to just that, an aesthetic. (Not to mention that we're playing as a drone, not a hive queen.)
- A Pounce attack would be no different from Demo's Shred attack
None of the above apart from Wall Crawling wouldn't really make Xeno feel any less lacking or more unique.
Realistically all you could really do is add haste and undetectable while in Runner Mode, but that doesn't really make it anymore unique than what it currently is.
-
Also if we look at it objectively, everything the Xeno drone does in Alien 1 is present in it's power for DBD.
- It got tunnels that it uses the same way as when it uses the air ducts in Alien 1
- It got the inner jaw for the mori
- it got acid blood for one of it's addons
- It got the tail attack
As for Runner mode, it's more of a thing from Aliens and the Animation for it in-game is based after the same crawling animation that is seen in Alien: Isolation, just like it's lobby intro animation in DBD.

I kinda hope they don't start making a bunch of killers that crawl along the ground.
I had fun playing Xenomorph in the ptb, but I don't like the way the camera is positioned. I didn't really care for it with Victor either to be honest and it does make it a bit harder to navigate the weirder loop shapes on some maps.
That's Xenomorph in a nutshell, lots of mechanical bits from other killers with improvements on them. Which is great because they make the killer instantly comfy to play lowered PoV aside. I can do the same little bends that can I do with Nemmy and I enjoy the vastly improved tunneling they came up with from Demo's Upside Down mechanic.
I hope they do make more killers in the future that crawls on the ground with multiple legs, we might actually get some more variety in killer design that isn't just killers walking on two legs only.
The camera position never bothered me, however they can always raise it if needed, they did it with Blight so they can do it with Xeno as well.

Im pretty sure I heard some where he was meant to have a throw ability similar to Wesker but at the time they werent able to.
Also a wall climb would of been awesome ngl

Would love a source on that.

Yeah wall climbing would be great, however what we have for Xeno currently is actually unprecedented for DBD killer gameplay since this is the first killer to move on all 4, something that bhvr actually worked months on to achieve, so now that we have one, it might possibly lead to more killers moving on more than just 2 legs in the future.
Also judging by how Xeno's tunnel system was originally what bhvr wanted for Demo's tunnel teleport, but didn't have the manpower and technology to achieve it back then, maybe we can get something like Wall Crawling at some point in the future if the game keeps evolving.
