What i want to see is the cult classic horror movie Phantasm
What i expect to see is the first Predator movie or some video game license.

To me it really feels like theres something missing to his power, sort of like how Nemesis felt during his release
The main reasoning behind that is exactly this. Why does he have 2 stances when hes going to be in one of them for 90% of the match? Hes probably the least threatening killer as well outside of Runner Mode considering youre not trying to prevent him from getting his power like Oni, hes just a basic killer.
My bet is he had a similar thing happen to him as Nemesis. They had an idea for a power that was too hard to implement and had to settle for something else
Is Nemesis having a different power originally something the devs has said or is that just speculation on your part?
We know that they've confirmed that they tried to give Xeno a wall crawling ability early on, but due to how much of an enourmous task it was, as well as being a risk gameplay wise, they dropped it.

You don't need DBD to be dying in order to stop playing it. Feels like too many people are hoping the game dies so they can stop playing.
If there's something i've learned from all the other asym games that's come and gone throughout the years, it's that despite being gone, you'll always find people lamenting it and how they miss playing it. I've seen it happen with games like Evolved, Friday the 13th, Deathgarden & Last Year: The Nightmare. If DBD should ever die, then i guarantee you that you'll also see people lamenting it as well and wish for it to come back.

I saw someone post a list of games that were supposedly going to kill DBD. Somehow DBD is still alive while pretty much all other contenders died. TCM is a way more casual game than DBD is nowadays. It doesn't even try to appeal to the same group of people.
I hope that TCM does well because I've seen how much care the devs put into it but I also hope that they won't make the mistake of trying to make their game more competitive. Because if that happens, they enter DBD's market. And DBD is so big now that you can't kill it no matter how good your game is. With all the licenses DBD has there really is no way for any other games to take its place. It is more likely that any game that tries to compete against DBD will die within the first year.
I find it funny to watch how many people claim that they will play TCM in the future and stop playing DBD, when it is quite clear that they will come back soon anyway. There simply is no other game where you can have characters of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Halloween, TCM and now even Alien in one single match.
Apart from it's licenses, i'd say the simplistic gameplay is also one of dbd's strengths, as it allows for anyone to quickly learn the basics, jump in and play while still having parts of it to master.
Something i feel not many of the other asym games have.

Silly people think that. Silly people who can be safely ignored because they are so silly.
They are two VERY different games but even if they were exact carbon copies of each other, there is plenty of room for multiple games of this type. Madden has virtually imploded itself because they just kept squirting out the same dumpster fire of a game over and over again cause they had no reason to try to get better.
Pigs get fat, Hogs get slaughtered
Madden is the perfect example of how you don't need to make the next game you release better than the last one, you just need to make it as addicting as the last title you made, so that people will spend even more money than before. It's a proven business tactic that works, so no reason to stop doing it for as long as you can.
Same case for Fifa really.
-
Exactly, like other things in this game, you cannot trust this community to not abuse stuff in as many ways as possible.
Giving people the option to use voice chat is just asking for trouble on so many levels because most will not use it for it's intended purpose.
Among other reasons as well, but overall i would absolutely hate it's inclusion as i do not believe it belongs in this game no matter what.
-
Public voice chat for dbd sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, i can think of more cons than pros were it ever to be added.

Yeah, paying up to around 200$ for a time-limited shiny skin with a custom Mori? Hell no. I could buy the game and most DLC for the same price.
Not to mention the Relic system which is literal P2W, or the fact that new characters are gacha-locked for a little while before being purchasable normally (Sadako was temporarily locked upon release on the new Mobile and if you wanted her day 1 then you could try your hand and maybe get her for a reasonable price).
Or the fact that balance-wise it is years behind Core DBD, infinites still exists, many perks and items are their previous versions (DH isn't nerfed on Mobile for example) and some maps are barely playable for most Killers except Nurse.
The Mobile version does have a handful of nice things (being able to see your teammates loadouts is nice and having all Survivors share inventory is very good) but the bad heavily outweighs the good.
Straight up yeah, also in my humble opinion, mobile cosmetics just aren't really that good with the exception of a handful of killer ones.
Survivor cosmetics however to me looks nothing more than some generic colorful mass produced outfits with no uniqueness over them, they feel soulless most of the time compared to many of core's cosmetics which has alot more personality given to them.
What i mean by that is alot of- if not all of the mobile ones for Survivors are the exact same or almost exact same cosmetic but just in different color for each Survivor it's given to, they have nothing that makes them really stand out as they're all just basically a carbon copy of each other, they don't have something tied to a specific Survivor as part of their personality or something related to a specific Survivor the same way core cosmetic does.
Another thing i hate about mobile cosmetics (specifically about Survivor cosmetics) is that every single one of them are way too clean and proper for a ''life & death type run for your life situation'' in dbd, they all just look like they're off for a photoshoot or some fancy party.
Meanwhile we got core cosmetics with the majority of cosmetics having some kind of blood, dirty or mud on them along with having some damage or cuts added to them to make them look worn or used in order to fit in with the horror aesthetic of the game. Granted core dbd also have some eye candy or cosmetics that are way too clean, however it's nowhere near as many as you would find in dbd mobile's cosmetic selection.
I know bhvr said in the most recent reddit AMA that they would be bringing mobile cosmetics over to core but not as a 1:1 recreation, i just hope that they dirty them some more for core so they don't look nearly as clean as on mobile.

But slower content releases
and gacha mechanics
Which i think is funny how people always gloss over that part when glorifying dbd mobile's cosmetic selection as it's all just a bunch of colorful eye candy to look at.
-
Guns with bullets & explosive weaponry doesn't really belong in dbd.
-
There are more interesting IPs to pick than fnaf.
-
Xeno's chase track is alright, it at least sounds like something i would run from, which is more than what can be said about chase tracks for characters such as Legion & Wesker.
-
Out of all killers, the one who comes closest to being best in all categories is Dredge.
However when it comes to who peaks in each category, it would look more like this.
Licensed Best
- Chase Music: Pinhead
- Design: Xenomorph
- Menu Music: Onryo
- Animation: Xenomorph
Original Best
- Chase Music: Blight
- Design: Dredge
- Menu Music: Oni
- Animation: Singularity
Best out of both
- Chase Music: Blight
- Design: Xenomorph
- Menu Music: Oni
- Animation: Xenomorph

The same thing like the old ghostface chase song before most of the community trashed on it. It's fine, it's part of the movie and I like that they want to follow it and put something on the movie in the game..
I do miss the old GF chase music tho it was part of the movie but the community has well way different taste than me when it comes to music seems..
I wish we could choose each killer's chase track between default, ptb and live.
Would be client sided of course.
-
The chase music for Wesker and Legion, i'd change them to actually sound like proper chase music.
-
In terms of Survivor, having more lobby voicelines for everyone would be great, in match however, i'd rather we keep it sparse between who can and who can't.
In terms of Killer, both in regards to lobby and matches, it depends entirely on the character and if it fits said character.

Let me get this straight, So what you are saying is... that TCM is better than DbD huh? That seems like the general vibe here.
I'm just kidding 😎
1 . Multiple objectives have been on the cutting board for a long time, Totems were one and well its not the second coming. But multiple escapes is already in the game, There are the Gates or the Hatch. I dont generally look at dbd and think, oh the problem here is, "there isnt enough escape routes" I personally like how simple dbd is, but I think we could add things to the Generators.
Such as BIG Generators that take long to repair, or OLD generators that do more skill checks. All with new colors ofc.
2 . I don't want to play a game where every survivor is trying to min/max and everyone is playing the same Survivor to get a possible advantage, as you can see in TCM atm, if you try to play "Connie" everybody wants to swap with you or quit if they dont get to play her. As well as Cook players who just go AFK cause hes so bad to play as.
If bHVR can find a way to give Survivors a VERY minor and VERY inconsequential ability that would be great, but I dont think they even want to open that can of Worms. Like look at the problems already in TCM. I dont want that here lol.
3 . While your point is true, Look at it from the other angle. The Killer gameplay in TCM is incredible stale and boring and that has nothing to do with because DbD has more DLCs. Its because the gameplay is design for interactions, there is a reason bHVR went away from the old hiding mechanics. Even tho you STILL can hide and its funny too.
There are also design reasons why dbd Survivors are very lackluster with their life, because dbd fosters a game that is more about trying a new strategy and fail over and then adjusting, over failing and its game over.
Like there are reasons I have not bought TCM because all that I can see of that game, I don't think I would enjoy playing Killer in it AND DbD already provides a WAY better experience. Idd only accept it as a free gift to try it fully as there isn't a demo 40 dollars is a lot for such a gamble.
We shall see how TCM stands the test of time, but I'm certainly not impressed by that game when it comes to this experience that both games provides. But you certainly bring attention to some points that bHVR should pay attention to. Those are:
- Try again and harder with secondary objectives.
- Generator variations.
- Survivor differences, very minor ability.
- Make sure not to kill off stealth in DbD.
What we think of those points are subjective, but Idd say 1, 2 and 4 are super important in the future for dbd.
Making Generator interaction more interesting and fun to do, as well as just implementing more mini games when interacting with stuff would also help alot.
-
Am i excited for the chapter? I'd say so yes, but even more so am i excited to see what changes will be done in the live patch note.
Will i buy it? Of course i will, why wouldn't i? Outside of maintaining my 100% completion rate, it's Alien of all IPs.

Indeed, and what new horror movie is really that amazing?
I'd rather see any of the following:
Candyman
Cujo (killer dog would be interesting)
The Thing - with an ability to mimic survivors or possess them and R.J. MacReady as the survivor
Fright Night
Phantasm - hunting people with Angus Scrimm and that orb!
Trick 'r Treat - Sam's creepy little self
Child's Play - Cause Chucky is iconic
Pumpkinhead - For the look and the vines.
The Fly - Goldblum
Puppet Master - So many cool things that could be done with the puppets.
The Howling or An American Werewolf in Paris - Having a full moon effect and werewolf would be fun.
And my personal favorite
John Carpenter's Vampires - Sure Vampires.. neat... but it's more about the survivor, JAMES WOODS baby!!!
Also could go with Lost Boys and have David and Michael.
Phantasm
Based choice
The Tall Man is without question one of the few true pre-2000 cult classic horror movie icons and his inclusion is more than warranted.

Yep but wesker dont get his asin power denied with a spray singularity does
Exactly why i suggested in the comment that instead of removing EMPs, they should change it to not feel as annoying & punishing, the same way how First Aid Sprays doesn't feel as punishing and annoying to play against.

Wesker ability also gives hinderance, has limited uses that CANNOT be regenerated, his ability directly hurst people, allows for massive distance without set up, his power is just way better
Better power or not, the point is that all counterplay items should have the same feel to them as First Aid Spray does when used against their respective killers.
-
@totallynotamegmain said:
Maybe the solution is to remove Emps all together? The killers who have direct mechanics to counter them are usually the weakest or least fun to play. The downside would be that they remove the invincibility maybe 🤔
Wesker have direct mechanic to counter him with First Aid Sprays, yet people still consider him fun to play as and strong enough despite the first aid sprays.
The solution isn't to remove EMPs, but to change them to make them feel less annoying for Singularity to play against as well as just making Singularity feel more fluent to play as overall.
-
Try custom game with bots, it's a good way to practice playing as Killer.

8: By detaching directed intent from the eldritch force, you provide a lot more narrative leeway for worldbuilding.
If the eldritch force only manages The Trials because that’s what it wants and is focused on, and that’s all, then everything unrelated to The Trials isn’t canon, and people can be weird about that.
But if the eldritch force is much more esoteric, like just feeding off of the concept of fear, then you could even say that Hooked On You is canon, as the eldritch being is feeding both on the fear of rejection, and the fear of possible death. And it’s world is a result of the concept of infinite possibilities.
And in the same world space the Trials would be handled by some kind of unhinged observer that’s orchestrating and influencing how they’re setup for some goal.
All in all this detachment allows for more storytelling, compared to stating that there is only one canon way the story should be told, The Trials.
Problem is, like many other things you claim, is that you're combining your own headcanons with that of the actual canon and act as if it's all legit.
just because you're treating your headcanons as if they're actual part of the actual canon doesn't automatically make it anymore canon than that of any other headcanons, which is none at all.
And no, that has nothing to do with any "artistic difference" (even though you can't really call it that since what is canon isn't some subjective thing since everything that actually is canon is clearly stated in the tomes and such), it's just a matter of fact.
-
One major reason for me being that it's doing what Terrordrome: Rise of the Boogeymen did by bringing all the iconic characters in horror together, except here it's all done legally and officially.
Another major reason is the straight forward gameplay.
-
Probably Predator since we got Alien.
-
She and Sadako are Japan's two most popular horror villains, so naturally she should be included.

I would love to see a Dev-Stream and more informations, especially about changes to killers. Do we really need a rare ama - reserved for reddit - to get at least some Informations thanks to some questions like updates for Trapper (which was denied), Nightmare, Billy etc.?
Considering how people always uses dev streams to ######### on the devs, it's no wonder they stopped doing them.

it's the only thing that can give any kind of competition at the moment though. Yeah they are different and that's a good thing. I wouldnt play a straight copy of DBD. I do see few problems in TCM already. One is Connie. She's too strong and can escape before killers even notice. Two voice chat. People who can use voice chat will be better at the game ( kinda like in dbd ) Three. Maps. They will get repetitive as you learn them and as a survivor you will learn to escape faster and faster.
This being said i still hope they do well.
Not really an issue and more of a nitpick, but for a game like tcm where the Survivor gameplay is all about stealth and not being found, the victims really cannot stop commenting and talking about every little thing they see or do, you'd think they would try and stay quiet to avoid being heard and found or at least whisper more.
Also from what i've heard of voicelines so far from Bubba, he doesn't really sound like how he does in the first movie with the pig squealing like noises, i would say dbd still has the most authentic Bubba sounds between the two.

It's kind of shady to me that they won't offer refunds to anybody who lost access to specific characters. I get that it's not their fault, but like... I don't know. Odd situation.
What refund? People who used steam family share didn't really pay for that content themselves in the first place, so they're not really owed anything. There's nothing really shady about it, it's definitely frustrating sure, but it's not shady.
Shady would be if someone bought a character by themselves, but then lost that character that bhvr wouldn't issue any form of compensation to the player for the loss of content they themselves had spent money on to begin with.

Very true and i do appreciate that we've gotten so far, i just wish that the quantity was a bit bigger than just a single legendary skin per year due to how many characters are left to add.

Maybe if we get a second chapter with the focus on the rest of the games in the franchise.
Would love for a Travis Grady skin and the Pyramid Head variation from Homecoming as a skin, because that one seems to be really well-known, almost as if it's more well-known mainstream wise than the original design.
However, since with the current chapter we only get stuff from the original trilogy, the mentioned characters above would be our options to pick from.

Who's Maria then? Don't know silent hill lore tbh
The TL;DR version is this.
Maria does not exist and was brought into existence by the Town of Silent Hill itself from James' guilt suppressed mind in the image of Mary whom James killed prior to the game.
The Longer version is this. (gonna be borrowing some text from the SH wiki.)
Maria is a manifestation, a mental construct or figment of James' seemingly delusional imagination that was brought to life by the town of Silent Hill itself, similar to how Pyramid Head was brought to life from James' guilt and desire for self-punishment for his actions, Maria was produced by James' delusions as a result of his inability to bear the weight of the crime of killing his wife, Mary prior to the start of the game. Similar to a dream character, she is seen defying death and questions James' perceptions of whether or not her death actually occurred.
She is identical to Mary both in voice and face, along with some of Mary's own memories as well since she stems from James' mind, also with the bonus campaign where you play as Maria called ''Born From A Wish'', it can be assumed that she was born from James' wish to see Mary again.
She is also arguably the primary antagonist of SIlent Hill 2, as she serves as the final boss of the game.

Um exactly?? I don’t want to add emotes in DBD for new players I want it for the existing players. And another thing you don’t need 2k hours in DBD to not find it scary anymore it literally takes like one jumpscare for you to get used to it. Let me just remind you dbd is rated mature 17+, what 17 year old would get scared from a game like this? It’s just gore.
also I know trickster is supposed to be horror cause like obviously but my point is DBD is considered a horror game while not necessarily being horror. That’s its, it’s a category.
Um exactly?? I don’t want to add emotes in DBD for new players I want it for the existing players.
I know the topic of the thread is about emotes in dbd, however i actually didn't talk about that once in my comments, so i'm not sure why you bring that up all of the sudden, however since you just now brough it up, i'm going give my 2 cents on the topic of the thread: I don't want emotes in the game in general if they're anything remotely close to that of emotes seen on dbd mobile or fortnite, i don't believe they have a place here and that's what i firmly believe.
And another thing you don’t need 2k hours in DBD to not find it scary anymore it literally takes like one jumpscare for you to get used to it.
The 2k hours was just an example due to how long some people play the game, my point was that when you play any horror game for long enough, it eventually stops being scary no matter what.
Let me just remind you dbd is rated mature 17+, what 17 year old would get scared from a game like this? It’s just gore.
and let me remind you that what you don't find scary, does not mean everyone else also don't find scary as everyone is different from one another.
Even if the majority of consistent players don't find dbd scary, that doesn't change the fact that they don't represent everyone who plays the game.
also I know trickster is supposed to be horror cause like obviously but my point is DBD is considered a horror game while not necessarily being horror. That’s its, it’s a category.
I can very much use the same argument for any horror game since you'll always find people not scared of something, so any horror game would also just be that, simply a category only. (and no that's not just me assuming so, it's a fact that what some people find scary, others don't find scary, the same way how what some people find funny, others don't find funny.)

I really like Hux, but yeah he's definitely not for everyone, you'd have to be willing to dedicate time, energy and effort to maximize Hux's efficiency, an efficiency that doesn't reward you enough for your efforts.
The QOL features that would make me main Hux would be
- Biopod's camera mode can be used to manually shoot at structures, walls and props to create more Bipods to get easier around the map
- All biopod cameras resetting to center position every time you switch away from one of them
- Basekit Haste Status Effect upon successful Slipstreaming to a Survivor, even if the duration is less than the haste addon's own duration
- Doubling Hux's biopod shooting range

Um have u seen his skins? Just because they include blood doesn’t mean they are scary/horror it’s just DBD’s general vibe.
Plus u can’t deny that DBD’s horror factor is very little to none. It’s definitely more sweaty/ meta survivors and killers playing the game now. How many times have u been terrified while going against a scary killer.
Um have u seen his skins? Just because they include blood doesn’t mean they are scary/horror it’s just DBD’s general vibe.
First off: scary and horror is not one and the same, scary is what you're personally afraid of, while horror is the general term for everything anyone can find scary regardless of what it is. DBD may not be scary to me, you or other long time players, but it's horror still remains as it always have because what is or isn't scary is subjective and as long as scariness is subjective, horror can never be defined by anyone single person because it's such a broad thing and genre.
Secondly: blood/dirt/mud is still part of DBD's general horror aesthetic for cosmetics, always have been and always will be as all cosmetics have one or more of those details to make them fit in with the game's aesthetic.
Thirdly: DBD's vibe isn't restricted to the conventional Grim Dark horror combined with Slasher horror like it was back in the day, it has expanded into many more types of horror throughout the years, it now features both conventional and unconventional horror types. Trickster is a horror character through and through, his lore is literally what drives his horror home and corrospond to how he behaves in-game, as he belongs in the same catagory of horror as horror movie characters like Patrick Bateman, Norman Bates, Terry Simmons and many others belongs in, which is looking normal on the outside while being all messed up on the inside.
Him not being scary in appearance is the literal point of his character, you don't suspect a handsome celebrity to be a complete monster on the inside because his appearance will fool most people into thinking he's just a normal k-pop star.
Also out of all the Killers in the game, Trickster is probably the killer that are closest to that of real life psychos and murders.
Plus u can’t deny that DBD’s horror factor is very little to none. It’s definitely more sweaty/ meta survivors and killers playing the game now. How many times have u been terrified while going against a scary killer.
Actually, i can deny that DBD's horror factor is very little to none, it not being scary to me or you personally does not make the horror disappear. As far as scariness is concerned, for anyone who's played for long enough will not be scared of DBD, however newer players are more inclined to be scared because they don't know the ins & outs of the game or what to expect from it and so hasn't gotten used to it yet like most longtime players have.
Also tell me this: How many horror games have you played for more than 2K hours without said game's scary factors disappearing completely? if you play a horror game or watch a horror movie enough times for long enough, it ends up becoming stale and predictable because you know exactly what's gonna happen and what to expect everytime and dbd is no exception to this, especially not when you got people playing the game for way more than 3K+ hours, if you played any horror game for that long, i guarantee you that you'd stop feeling the scariness from it regardless of what it is.
