If you go for the box and try to solve it, you wont get attacked by the chains if you do it immediately; however, if you move from where the box spawns or go anywhere, A. The Cenobite can see you B. You'll get attacked by chains.

Your best option is to solve the box and hope Ceno doesn't teleport to you

Somewhat true. If the box is not being worked on, Pinhead cannot pinpoint your location.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

A voice opened the box in another dimension, so only his voice was required to address this transgression while he is busy with the 4 survivors constantly molesting the box.

Better comment than I made. You deserve a thumbs up from me, lol.

  • I liked the 4 year matchmaking as well as the 4 year hud we had but everything had to change cuz "why not." No one asked for any of this. I'm still flabberghasted this is happening.

  • I would like to know if they were in a swf, but i don't want compensation if I got bodied by a 4 stack. I get put in an uncomfortable position if I asked if they were a 4 stack. And I wouldn't even have the chance to ask if they were all console players.

  • Blight's perks are very great for hexplay, and blight has the speed and mobility to map pressure. Can break pallets with his power. Only real weakness he could have is indoor maps like memorial institute or raccoon city.

Nemesis has a ranged attack, making loops very punishable, has ai, with the right addons, can be devestating to survivors. While he doesn't have that good of perks, he makes up for in his powers.

Blight and spirit are very similar if you think about it, in terms of playstyles. So do deathslinger and nemesis.

Edit: Killer main with 2700+ hours and at red ranks across the board.

  • You do realize Blight and Nemesis are actually 2 of the strongest killers in this game right?

  • @Neamy said:

I believe there should be an option (mode) to have talking (mics) for everyone in range. Like killer can hear teams talking (He's coming after me!) and vice versa. I would LOVE to give my killers my own personality, while chasing people.

Play F13. That happens a lot more often than you think.

and yet I play with it daily and have got 3 stuns with it today

If you can pull that off, please send clips of you getting stuns and I will stop completely.

Its the worst implementation I saw in the history of my Life. IMAGINE you filter out DWIGHT. Yes, the surviver Name Dwight. Or other totally normal words. Whats the point of a chat if you can not communicate normal? Disable the filter. And people who are to sensitive can disable the chat entirely, that option still exists right

I completely agree. "You suck" is banned but "You dick" is not. It needs a massive rework. I can't even have normal conversations with people, let alone handle toxicity. I'm a 20 year old man. I'll just leave if the chat gets toxic.

Because a pallet stun occurs when the pallet is roughly 50% of the way dropped, the stun does not start on the initial drop.

In the video linked there, by the time the pallet was in the 50% position - the killer was well away. If you notice when the pick up happens, the survivor is already at the end of the stun range.

I'm sorry, you cannot convince me this is fair at all. Power struggle will never be used again if this goes on.

Edit: And this is coming from a killer main.

  • He comes silently.

(Bring back the voice lines, BHVR. I know it wasn't an issue. We know it wasn't an issue.)

  • @Mandy said:

It definitely still works, I've used it myself. In that clip that you've put there, you are too far away when the pallet is dropped so the killer is out of stun range.

I'm sorry but I have to completely disagree with that. A trusted member on this forums said it doesn't work either. It just throws the pallet down.

  • Right, forgot that licensed characters can get blighted skins.

I'm gonna go with three killers since that's what they tend to do.

Pyramid head, Twins, and Nemesis. I would love to see a blighted Nemesis come at me with full force. Would be terrifying.

  • Untitled-1.jpg

    Cosmetic bundles are the best.

  • Glad I got the achievement before power struggle became this now.

  • As someone who has played overwatch before, I would love it if we got a mode where if we have a locked killer or survivor, we have a chance to play them with their perks enabled to see if it's someone we would like to play as.

  • I don't understand why ranks were switched to "grades," but whatever. As long as I get end-of-season rewards, I have a reason to actually try as best as I can to get to rank 1 instead of it casually with friends.

  • I thought that me having prove thyself was the issue. I'm glad it's an external issue and not my issue.

Does anyone think it's weird that the rules say you can't hold the game hostage, but then they never specify what that means? Like, we've heard bits and pieces about specific scenarios, but this question keeps coming up over and over as new people enter the game -- and I think it's reasonable. You obviously want to know what's against the rules. But all we've got is folklore and screencaps of things various mods said X number of years ago.

For the record, I am not a new player. I played the game ever since the game was in beta. If you saw my screenshot, you would've seen that I have had over 2k hours in the game.

  • Don't forget that this game was BUILT for solo queuing survivors, not for SWF, as SWF encourages communication which DBD was against from day one.

  • I chose hard for a number of reasons (comparing to his counterpart and similar playstyle, huntress).

Blade Aim: It's not huntress, so you have to be consistent with your blade hits as there is no wind up time.

Blade Management: It's easy to lose track how many blades you use mid chase.

Main event usage: It's extremely difficult to use main event effectively, especially at high ranks.

Starstruck: Cool to equip, hard to use practically.

    No way out: Super situational

Crowd Control: Hex perk, need I say more?

In the end, this killer is NOT easy, not even in the slightest. The huntress should be set to easy difficulty for how straightfoward her playstyle is.

  • I don't think the MMR is gonna change ever. So yeah, that's the new norm. If you want, wait for the rank reset so you can get people of lower skill level.

"Pebbles shimmering in the moonlight; my life drips down in a trail so easy to follow."

"Shining in the darkest dark, his eyes pierce the night and sting your soul."

"As the moon rises, the wolves howl, marking the beginning of the hunt."

"Kick back and relax in the moonlight with an ice cold drink and some barbecued meat. The Entity has invited you to enjoy yourself this fine evening."

A daytime map was a very, VERY, bad idea.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this rework was the worst rework

  • I didn't want this thread to be spreaded out into a fight. Can we not? It was a simple question and it was resolved. Thank you Karao_Ke

  • Only thing I notice is about 70% of the time, I get stunned from unusually large ranges and had me going "I didn't think I was in stunning distance, but whatever." Other than that, no issues here.

  • Yeah, it reappears after a few level ups.

    Hi there,

I decided to hop on and play for a couple of hours like I do every day but all of my games today have suffered from the same really unenjoyable bug. I will be running around a structure as Survivor and I will be teleported 2 steps backwards repeatedly during the chase, or the killer will be on my tail and the killer should be able to hit me but when they swing they get moved to the right, left or back and it doesn't land so I don't get hit. Other times I get sucked in to the hit and they get a hit that shouldn't connect at all.

Every single game I have played today has been plagued with this issue. I play from the UK on PC on the EUW servers and today I was playing in a 2-man SWF with a PS4 friend from Germany who was also experiencing this issue. I watched my friend play as killer in the EU-east (Germany gets lumped in with more Russians & Poles than EUW) and the issue was still persistent for her.

It's making chases feel really unrewarding honestly and I can tell that some of the killers I am facing are getting really frustrated by this. I've seen this occasionally in the past but nowhere near as bad as it has been today.

Maps I experienced this on - Glenvale, Ormond, Cow Shed, Coal Tower & more.

Has anyone else noticed this happening today?

Your issue is because of playing with people on other ends of the earth.

Better get used to that because every match there's going to be something you did wrong according to them lol

    image.png

    Way ahead of you, man.

  • If they do, predator has to get in on the action as well. I don't think either license is hard to obtain, looking at how successful dbd has been doing these past 5 years.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2239125#Comment_2239125

That is true. It isn't truly holding the game hostage as per the rules but by my own definition, if you're purposely making the game longer with aggressive intentions then it is holding the game hostage.

Either way though, what you did wasn't wrong.

Thanks for the input. Glad to know the guy reporting me was just angry of my tactics.

  • He's super weak already, don't make his other foot go in the grave already.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

There's a difference between actively trying to down everybody and eventually hook them rather than downing everybody and watching them die. One is trying to secure a 4K (because you plan to hook) and one is dragging out the game longer than it has to be (standing over their body and watching them die).

Either way you look at it though, the game being held hostage means the game never ends. I didn't actively hook anyone because I didn't want anyone to escape. Their bleedout timers make the game not going on indefinately, therefore it's not being held hostage. So what I did wasn't wrong then, reading the fine print of the rules.

  • A new type of totem coming soon. No idea what it does or how it changes gameplay. We will have to see.

  • I already have all the achievements. I was just saying which one was the hardest for me.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    Holding the game hostage is:

    • Survivors not progressing the game by not doing generators, not activating the gate and instead hiding all game, bodyblocking other survivors into a corner, etc.
    • Killers not progressing the game by slugging all 4 and watching everyone bleed out (not trying to look for/hook anybody), bodyblocking other survivors into a corner, etc.

You weren't holding the game hostage. Slugging is an important factor that can sometimes determine a win or loss. As long as you were actively trying to chase somebody else for the 4 instead of watching the survivors bleed out, you're fine.

That is sort of what I did because when a survivor was healing one that was downed, I downed them and chased the other, making the game go on pretty long. Deerstalker alerted me when survivors were being healed. Can you explain further?

Because slugging 4 survivors doesn't hold the game hostage. It just makes the game go on longer.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

Its the servers and latency. I keep getting matched against people who are from Peru, Cambodia and even Columbia and you can tell it when they hit you after you throw a pallet and take 2 steps. They need to keep regions closer together if thier servers can't handle it. (I'm from the U.S.)

This. A lot of players I go against are not english-speaking players.

  • No wonder people playing as ghostface are good at nurse, and vice versa.

  • Saving teammates with pallet stuns. That was so hard to do without a coordinated team.

    Edit: I am a solo q survivor.

  • Freddy in a dress would be a dream come true

  • I disagree. The grind for me is the entire reason why I got into the game in the first place and still the reason why I play to this day.

  • @swager21 said:

Queues at night take 10 minutes and the people you get matched with are godawful. Seriously, I feel robbed when I have to wait 10 minutes just to get 2 teammates that are crouching in a corner. They also drop pallets when the killer is 10 meters away. Queues in the morning are almost instant + the people I play with aren't complete idiots. Can anyone explain why this game is 5 times more frustrating at night? I feel like I can't play this game past 7 PM

I don't agree honestly. The most optimal times I get fast loading lobbies are around 10PM to 1AM Eastern time. I usually have to wait about 2-5 minutes, and boom, I'm in. I guess I must be an outlier.

we have a super diverse cast of characters, almost non of the backstories/lore is in any way relevant to the gameplay mechanics. There are also multiple mentioned heterosexual relationships.

why should anything LGBTQ+ be excluded when we have all that already in the game?

I wasn't taking sides, I was just asking why. But I'm not going to be a part of this argument/debate. Have a good night everyone.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I was having an interesting conversation with a friend the other night.

About how I have noticed a pattern, within our group. We are mostly a SWF casual group and while we do bring meta perks, we are also not sweating unless the killer basically puts us in that circumstance. We often try to have fun even when we know the RNG was not on our side.

Anytime we experience issues with hits or lag (rubber banding, pallet stuns not working) we tend to get very critical of the game itself. While I know this isn’t something that we have control over but for me it put things into perspective, that when the game is performing even if just ok, many of the things that are deemed unbalanced are more acceptable.

I don’t know if anyone else feels that way. It’s almost like if the game worked ok 100% of the time we might not be as “salty” if one of us got camped or was hit where we shouldn’t have been because it cost us the match.

I would enjoy it if the game's fps is unlocked or at least increased so playing killers like huntress and deathslinger are more enjoyable.

  • Not to be rude or homophobic but... Why? This a game where killers chase survivors before they escape. This is all... pretty strange.

  • You do realize that rank doesn't matter that much, right? Red ranks just show they are at the very least competent at the game. The rest relies on you pretty much.

Edit: It's good practice to blur out names of people to show respect, just fyi.

On some PC's, yes. A lot of us still have terrible optimisation despite having very good PC's that don't have issues with other games.

Having an fps unlocker would be great, or at the very least, v-sync so our monitors can get the fps we deserve.
