I find this to be the best event so far. Of course there are problems with it, like envelope being only once in the bloodweb. But the rewards are way better than before, both sides are fairly balanced in getting points. It's hard for killer to find lamps after hook people say, but they forget it's also hard for survivors to escape with lamp. All-in-all, good event. Objectives don't break the game, like sucking on flowers did. Congrats bhvr.

Yeah mate, they're there every game, just thought I'd give them some advice, since I don't see a new ranking system coming anytime soon.
Yeah it triggers me aswell. + the fact that red rank killers are 99% really decent so I'm literally in a 1v1 with the killer lol.
I remember back then when the emblem system came out, pipping was difficult. So whenever I went into a solo match at red ranks I knew for a fact my mates are decent.
Sadly, many noobs were crying it's to hard and now everyone pips ezAlso, unfortunately, rank hacking still works and boosting is also a problem that needs to be addressed. Meanwhile when I play killer (rank 10 atm), I get all these insanely good survivors and I am like, where the f*** are you guys when I need you at rank 1.

@SinnerThe real question here is; how did they manage to reach rank 1 anyways?
Maybe they are indeed learning and simply have less hours than you?
Something must be wrong with the ranking system~Yeah I wrote in other threads about it. Ranking system is a disaster.

This post comes off as hostile, and many of your points aren't worth of anyone Rank 1. For instance, it's incredibly easy to hit R1 as a Survivor on consoles, and hitting skill checks can be difficult without that sweet PC framerate. Unless you meant exclusive to PC, in which case each player is allowed to play at their own pace and you can't expect everyone to be gods at a casual game just because you play more and want to win.Yeah I play on PC.

That too but I meant something else. Like if I am not doing a gen I run around tripping her traps, when she is picking someone up.

let me get this straight ok on both sides we can't dc that's a given. But we can't suicide on hook or go afk as the killer? what with all these rules in a game with the ranking system don't matter it no even a ranking system we don't get anything for hitting rank 1.it was for better match making which is flawed. the other day I a solo survivor got in a match with a rank 13 12 and 15 survivors and rank 15 killer and I'm rank 6 survivor yes I got out but how that fair match making?yup
DC = symptom
Rank System = disease
Ban system = palliative -

I have a great idea for SWF that I didn't share on the forums yet. It involves letting the killer now when they are facing SWF but with a twist. They can't use their ultra rare addons vs solo survivors, however they have an unlimited supply at their disposal vs SWF. This will make killers not dodge SWF, if they want to use their ultra rares and make games vs solo survivors more balanced. It's on topic since it's the solo survivors that are rage quitting. Some Killers, not all would still dodge. We have seen posts on this forum of Killers who derank to 15 and still dodge swf. It isn't about being competitive. Some just can't enjoy the game unless they escape or getting a 4k.
I would say its more the embarrassing feeling of being trolled cos that's how it feels against 4 on point good survivors, whether they in SWF or solo...its a ######### feeling when you just get screwed over by survivors and taking the mickey out of. And no one wants to feel that way therefore they just quit once some claudette is tbagging with her torch behind a pallet ...its like ..I don't need to deal with this - alt+f4
I disagree, I think most swf games would be manageable with ultra rares, plus you can use mori and adjust your perks and pick your killer accordingly. But I respect your opinion.

Yeah so with this change, less killers would be dodging cause they'll have ultra rares as incentive.

You can't really talk about balance until the game has a proper ranking system.

@Sinner I disagree that the only place that skill is in the chase. There can be strategy outside of that which requires forward thinking, although that is not necessarily rewarded in the current ranking system either, so I can see what you're saying. For example, throwing a pebble and having the killer leave to check that area should give you boldness, in my opinion. It's tactical. Things like that currently aren't reflected in the ranking system, so tell me how they could be. That's what I need from you guys
@Giddawid
Yes, well I meant everything that is involved in the chase, such strategies like with the pebble as well. Basically the more time you spend with a survivor, the less points you get towards pip, and same for survivors. What I would do is setup time intervals or thresholds. For example you spend more than 1 minute in a chase with a survivor, you lose points towards pip. Survivor spends more than 1 minute with the killer, he gets points towards pip. This obviously needs to be brainstormed internally to see what timing would work best and how the points would be distributed. But that's the main idea.
A guy above me said survivors DC because they are bad. This is not how you view a problem. There are bad killers as well. Survivors DC because they are bad and face good killers. If you put bad survivors vs bad killers, you solve the problem.
Right now a bad survivor can do gens and save 1-2 guys, while the killer is chasing a good survivor for 3 minutes. Result is the bad survivors pips an goes to face even better killers, while the good survivor depips and goes to face worse killers. Hence the disconnects.

@Giddawid said:
@HavelmomDaS1 Thank you for offering your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to think about potential solutions to keep survivors interested. What do you think would motivate survivors if you were offering a reward?@Giddawid
Don't need to offer rewards. The problem is, matches are unfun for solo survivors because of the ranking system. Survivors reach rank 1 and don't do gens, can't counter nurse, rush for the hook to get points for pip and general bad gameplay which results in them losing. The ranking system is terribly flawed. Also there is boosting from swf and rank hacking. You need to make the ranking system focused more % wise around how both survivors and killers perform in a chase.
Think about it. You got games where a survivor can run the killer for 5 gens, yet he doesn't pip to advance in ranks and face killers his own skill level which cannot be run for 5 gens. You also got games where killers cannot catch anyone but because of NOED, they kill several survivors at end game and advance in ranks to face even harder matches. It doesn't make any sense. Ranking shouldn't be about sacrifing, hooking, repairing gens, healing, it should be about skill and the only thing that requires skill in this game is the chase.Simply put, the goal should be to put the survivors that are best at losing the killer versus the killers that are best at catching survivors, which the current system is not doing.
-
Not on this scale. This is an epidemic and makes the game unplayable. They need to change something and bans is not the solution, they need to find out why people DC and fix the core of the problem. Bans are just a palliative.

You guys aren't seeing the big picture. Considering how huge the DC problem got, there is clearly something wrong with the game, not with the players. My money is on the ranking system. Balance wise it seems okish. I'd just nerf nurse and billy.
Very rarerly it happens that I get good teammates at rank 1 vs a good killer and it ends up in a 1-2k fun game. Usually I die or get the hatch, cause of bad teammates.
Suggesting to add harsher bans is ridiculous at this stage. They'll have to ban like half the playerbase. What they need to do is fix the ranking system (make it how you do in a chase count like 80% towards pip), rank hacking and boosting and after that see what balance issues they have.
Not really, the game itself is not the issue, people will abuse and do anything they want and do more and more of it as long as they are allowed to do just that.. As for nerfing nurse and billy....really now?
Ofc the game is the issue when almost every game someone rage quits. People rage quit when they are on a losing streak for whatever reason, and they had enough. Almost every game someone rage quits, how is that not an issue with a game? Sure this happened before, but not like now. I play for 3 years and never seen it like this. What do you think banning people will solve? They will just move to another game, simple as that. They need to look into the reason why people are dc'ing and fix that. Billy maybe not, I'll give you that, but nurse, she sure needs a nerf. They buffed her when they fixed blinking up and down too much.
-
So far, every hint they posted for previous killers was actually tied to it, I don't see why Mali would just be the internal name this time and not an actual hint, when she said it was a hint.
-
Every decent player knows whoever uses NOED is a noob. The real issue is that these noobs actually pip because of it. They get to rank 1, can't catch anyone and than ask the devs for buffs because "survivors are op".
-

They probably DC because they're having many bad games in a row, where either they get caught fast, because of the ranking system, or either they get camped or tunneled. Would help if killers stopped using those nasty tactics against solo survivors, now that the game is balanced more around swf and solo survivors are at a huge disadvantage.
-
Why you hijack my thread? I am entitled to my own topic of conversation.
-
That's weird, I am hearing my footsteps very loud after the patch. Maybe it's only on the killer's side.
-
You guys do know the rules for the hatch to spawn, right? For 4 survivors to escape through hatch, all gens must be done. 3 survivors 4 gens and so on.

If you're being chased that long, they're bound to camp you.

What rank am I ? It's in the text you quoted. Also ppl don't use BT anymore since it got nerfed like 3 times. They wont use it since it doesn't protect the unhooker.
So you fought a bad nurse at rank 1...? Just because you mention rank 1 and complain about how much it sucks up there, doesn't mean you were playing in that rank and being camped. I've found killers at the higher ranks to be better at playing the game and not needing to resort to tunneling and camping as they recognize when to give up on a chase and come back. BT shouldn't affect the unhooker. It's borrowed time for the camped, not a free save. The recent nerf was actually a buff, I do believe, as you can mend yourself even if you don't have SC and it doesn't go down if you're being chased. The biggest issue with it was that it was bugged and didn't work if the person unhooking was downed.
I didn't complain about how much it sucks, I complained that I got camped while having no bm and using No Mither. I mean to camp someone with No Mither... it seems so weird, at rank 1 and with a nurse as well. Felt ouf of place. Regarding BT, yes it was buffed recently. People still don't use it, because it's only effective in well coordinated SWF groups. In solo play if you use it, you just end up on the hook yourself, so they just prefer to do gens and let the guy die. Well, that is best case scenario. Most of the times they stay crouched behind a nearby tree, waiting for the guy to die, hoping the killer will [BAD WORD] move eventually.
In the post I mentioned, you complained about the quality of rank 1 survivors. It's important to recognize why you were camped, though. You looped them for three gens. By that point, you should be looking to shake off the killer. If you're having troubles 'cause you're the first one found, I would suggest either bringing a perk to help avoid the killer or to wait a bit before you get onto a gen. SB is another crutch perk, too, and puts the chases in your favor as long as you can avoid the killer getting close enough to hit you. People do use BT from time to time in solo matches. If you get the unhook while the killer isn't paying attention or while the killer is away from the hook, it won't be as much of an exchange. I know what you mean, though. I wish people would punish the camping rather than feed into it and waste time.
Darling, you can't loop nurse. And I couldn't lose her either. Trust me I tried. It's very scary to have a nurse for so long on your ass, while using No Mither.
Yeah, nurse works a bit different, but you ran her around for so long. That's my point. You wasted a lot of time and she had next to no pressure due to you being able to run her so long. If she got that high with low skill, she probably had NOED, too, and relies on it regularly. Breaking LOS is even more important for nurse. Buildings are you friends since she needs to guess where you went.
Yeah that's how I kept dodging her for 3 gens, breaking los. But you know scratch marks right?:)
I don't know why I keep having the feeling you're talking to me like I am a noob. I have 2031 hours and am rank 1, so I know a few things. -

Your arguments contradict themselves. Pallet Looping has been a problem since LONG before LFs release and Survivors never just farted around instead of doing gens.
I haven't said it wasn't a problem. Quite the contrary, I mentioned there were survivors the likes of Ochido that were considered toxic and looped. Than, out of a sudden, few weeks after Leatherface release, everyone started doing it. Did you even bother reading everything I said?

Of course, if the BBQ anti-camping incentive is heavily nerfed, then of course this will affect campingBBQ should have never been added in the first place. It created so many problems, like looping and gen rushing.
Yes I know many of you killer mains will laugh but I remember very well how the game was before and after BBQ.
Before, only toxic survivors looped and no one liked them. All non-looping survivors sided with the killers on the matter. There was no need for such tactic, the game was fine without it. I myself and other survivor mains were constantly sandbagging loopers to help the killer catch them and than calling them toxic in end game chat.
After BBQ, at rank 1, everyone was dying left and right, you had no room to breathe, no time to do gens. Nurses and Billies were flying all over the place from one survivor to another. You had one hooked, one chased and one or two rushing to save, while one or no one was doing gens. The only games where we managed to survive was when we had a toxic survivor in the group that looped the killer. So survivors soon realized that is what they have to evolve into. I mean, even truetalent started doing it, which was the head of the anti-looping campaign, back when it was considered toxic.
Same with gen rush. There was no more time to go search chests, cleanse totems, have a varied gameplay, like sabo'ing, body blocking. No, spawn, go straight to repairing, nothing else. Otherwise it's game over.
This was the case only with billy and nurse, for other killers it didn't change much. But rank 1 was only billy and nurse at that time. And rank 1 dictates the gameplay so eventually everyone started doing it.BBQ is the most awful thing that they could have added to this game for both killers and survivors. There were so many other options to stop camping.

Just go old school like before bbq and check each gen. Killers had it way harder before, you couldn't even break the gen so all of them were up to 99% which meant you had all gens up to check at all times, since survivors popped all 5 at the same time.
BBQ was broken, was supposed to be counter by gen aura. They just fixed it so it works now, that is the fix lol. -
I think you need to play the game more. It's very killer sided. His power is too strong and annoying. Survivors would just disconnect. His perks are op, while survivor perks are crap. Only thing I like is the concept of getaway plan. Haven't heard this idea before. It needs to be stronger though, otherwise no one would use it. Should be able to do that to the gen whenever you want.

Sabo meta is one of the worst game designs ever. You are forced to slug as killer, so you can't do your objective properly and you sit on your belly as survivor and wait for minutes doing nothing. Yaaaay, so much fun...Been said, it won't be like before. You'll probably get the occasional sabo'er from time to time vs solo survivors and the occasional swf sabo squads. But the hooks will respawn, you won't have to slug them to death.

The sabo-meta made the game so unfun. I'd hate to see it come back.Sabo meta can never happen on that level again. Hangmans trick exists.
If it comes to that point every killer will run it. Running into too muchHangmans will cause people to stop sabo as well.
Not like before, of course, but 99% the hooks will suddenly become very attractive because of how effective it will be. WalterWh1te made a good point, saying it will take too much time away from gens. However, I think with the 2 new counters for bbq and chilli, which triggered gen rushing and looping in the first place, maybe survivors will be more relaxed now. We'll see how it goes.

I never understood why they buffed the nurse in the first place. It was already the best and most op killer. Why did they have to give her the option to adjust the range of the blink mid blink?
Also attacking while channeling was completely unnecessary. -

Breaking hooks is part of the game, slugging is part of game.Certain action from the survivors just happens to prompt a certain action from the killer!
Get over it!Yup, but he doesn't need to be an ass and come on the forums and be all toxic about it. I find it very rude and unproductive.

Didnt know people can complain about sabo after the huge nerf 2 years ago.
-
use iron grasp or agitation
-
Op has like 1 hour playing the game, either that or he is trolling or really bad with his brain.

I hope this makes it to live. I sort of stopped playing because game got boring since the healing nerf. I ended up healing more than repairing gens, because of mangled status effect.
-
Bare in mind there is also a bug right now that crashes the client, so that's why there are so many disconnects. Mine crashes like 1 out of 6 games.

You do realize that the killer doesnt know what offerings you throw in.
But maybe you want the killers to have that info? I dont know
He assumes, since there is an event going on.
