We have a chance to farm some points, all of us. They prefer to keep the games short with mori, so no one makes any points, wasting offerings as well, just to be toxic.

I play both Killer and Survivor and while camping sucks...I don't get how it ruins games. You die, you move on to another game. Camping upsets me more when I'm not the person on the hook and I have a daily or something and can't get any hook saves. Even then if it's a camping killer I'll either sac myself(if I think it's just a lost game) or work on gens(if I think at least a hatch escape is possible).Know what I really hate as a killer? Survivors looking back over their shoulders. Really what it amounts to is that survivors get no penalties for just about any action and the game is so non-stressful as a survivor that we can do things like look behind us while running with little to no issues. I think when a survivor is looking behind them they should suffer a speed penalty. At the very least there should be more intro and outro animations for some activities so survivors can't just ninja all over the game(without perks of course).
That said I think making Kindred part of the survivors base kit would be okay and kinda cool provided the killers got something to counterbalance it, like NOED as part of their base kit.
It ruins games because you can be very unlucky and it can occur several times in a row. Than you can't move to the next game.

You make some good points, but personally I wouldn't start working on anything until I'd fix the stupid ranking system, which, I've said so many times, should revolve around chases. What's the point of any balance, if your teammates or the killer are at the wrong rank. This has always been the biggest problem of this game. People at ranks where they don't belong.
Right now if the killer chases you whole match, you don't pip. Killer comes and complains on the forum that he is rank 1 and can't catch anyone, than the devs implement unrealistic changes. Meanwhile there are killers like truetalent that it's impossible to escape from, no matter what killer he plays. Yes, big surprise, he is not the only one, he is not Jesus. Go play survivor at rank 1 if you don't believe me.
Meanwhile, there's survivors with urban evasion and empathy, they do gens, chase injured players around the map to heal them to get emblem points, they reach rank 1, can't even drop a pallet or do a proper loop, get hooked and disconnect, ######### the whole team over.
Until they fix the ranking system to be about chases and nothing else, there's no point to discuss any balance.Edit: today I had 2 matches at rank 1 vs killers that couldn't get a hook whole match, but they ended up sacrificing 2 survivors and pip because they had noed. Do they belong at rank1? No! Do they think survivors are op? ######### yeah!

What's the point of having lots of perks if synergy is disabled?Should Iron Will not work when Urban Evasion is equipped? They both make you harder to find and walking around looking for immersed survivors isn't fun.
And Lithe shouldn't work with Dance With Me because they're both aimed at getting out of a chase, and losing a chase isn't fun.
Yes, the new "hold m1 to heal" gameplay isn't fun, but just making perks designed to work together not synergise isn't the answer.
That's just silly. It's not about synergy since they're all doing the same thing. The only examples that work here are exhaustion perks and they all don't stack.

They wouldn't have needed to nerf healing if they just remove Self Care from the game. That's literally the entire reason they did these changes. To nerf SC without actually nerfing SC.Removing self care is not that simple. If they had removed it, it would mean no more body blocking, taking hits for teammates, etc. This would also make the game boring for survivors. They need more fun things to do not less.
-
Yeah, they could've like added 1 more gen, fine with me. Simple fix, instead of this crap.
-
There's no incentive to play survivor right now, all you do is repair gen and heal all match.
-
OP is just a noob camper that wants more camping buffs.

Hate:
1. Forum killers
2. BBQ
3. NOED
4. Mori
5. Ranking systemLike:
1. Pro Killers
2. Long Chases
3. Leatherface
4. Urban evasion
5. 360s -
My space button is nearly broken.

######### are you guys on about?Yes, it's a hide and seek game, although with all the recent aura buffs to killers I am starting to doubt it.Chases are and will be a major part of the game wether you want it or not. Incidently they're also paramount in determining the skill level between the 2 players involved in the chase. The main reason killers used to be upset about, fundamentally, was that they couldn't win chases, cause of looping, pallets, etc. How can you start to address those issues when you don't have a proper ranking system in place to gather the appropiate data?Rank 1 is currently for everyone of all skill levels. You can have good survivors running killers for 3-4 gens, bad survivors dying in 10 seconds, good killers that don't even use ruin which mindgame skillfully every loop and wipe the floor with survivors in 5 minutes and bad killers that are unseen whole match, until all gens pop and you get the noed notification. The goal is not to promote long chases, but to bring killers and survivors into a place of balance. That's what you don't understand. If you take survivors that are good at running the killer around and put them against killers that are ending chases faster, than the chases will get shorter for the survivor and longer for the killer, but balanced. For example: with the current system a good survivor at rank 1 can run the killer for 4 gensWith a system revolved around chases, the same survivor would run the killer for 1-2 gen
-
Just had a fellow survivor sitting on the edge of the exit with Blood Warden up, the killer behind pounding his head. He gets killed. Asks in lobby why he couldn't crawl out. I say Blood Warden and he doesn't know what it is. Meanwhile the killer had noed. How can you have noed at rank 1? This exemplifies perfectly the magnitude of the disaster that is the current ranking system.
-
Also, you shouldn't check the totem, you're basically telling them where it is.
-
It makes no sense whatsoever. Depip the guy who can run the killer for 5 gens so he can keep playing vs noob killers, instead of giving him 2 pips to go against someone that can actually catch him..
-
Yeah, it's really getting ridiculous. I mean rank 1 survivors are acting like rank 20s, can't even hit skill checks.
-
I'd be ashamed as killer to slot NOED. I would basically admit defeat from the start. That's what NOED means: "I am too bad at this game, I won't catch survivors, but maybe, just maybe I will get lucky and catch some at the end with NOED.

Can we all agree that the survivors that are great at keeping the killer busy the whole match should face the killers that are best at ending a chase as fast as possible? If so why not build the ranking system around chases?
Sure you can still get to rank 1 by doing gens and saving other survivors, as it is now, leave it like that. But once you're in a chase the outcome of that chase should impact the total points you get from all the emblems. You could setup several time thresholds.
Example: You get caught in less than a minute, you lose a lot of points that go towards the pip. You get caught in less than 2 minutes but more than a minute, you still lose points but less. You get caught after 2 minutes, you gain points. You get caught after 3 minutes, you gain even more points. And so on.Same with killer.
You keep chases short but they gen rush you and you don't get to sacrifice anyone, you still pip.
Or, you can't catch anyone but you have NOED and Blood Warden and sacrifice all 4 survivors at the end, you don't pip. This will help put players where they belong and lead to more balanced games. I really don't think there is any other way.
i hate the chase emblem i always get a ruthless because its silver even with a 4k because i get 3 hooks extremely fast then grab the last survivor and and mori him but unfortuantly games areonly 5 minutes long and the chase emblem screws me over.
So basically you don't double pip and stay for longer with people that are below your skill range and have boring and less challenging matches?
exactly wheres the challenge? if only their was a rank further than 1
If only the survivors that are good in chases would be at rank 1, you would have your challenge.
Just proves my point, that ranking should be based on chases. -

There seems to be a big misunderstanding here with "gen rushing". No one is saying survivors shouldn't be rushing gens, that is literally them just doing their objective. Stop arguing semantics and let's focus on what we actually mean by gen rushing which is that the gens simply shouldn't be able to be done as fast as they currently are, not that survivors shouldn't be trying to.Those of us who have been playing for longer know that gen rushing wasn't a thing before. Survivors would take their time, search a chest, cleanse a totem, help a fellow survivor in a chase. Now, as soon as they spawn they're going straight to gens, delaying saves, delaying healing to prioritize gens. This started happening after they added the most op perk in the game: BBQ and Chilli.
That is just simply not true, it was happening back then. This has been an issue from the beginning. Link your steam, I wanna see what you consider longer.
1798 hours, started playing just after Hag release
I've got over 2,000 hours, I was here quite a ways before hag. I stand by what I said.
Dude, you had no more breathing room after BBQ, survivors had to adapt to this new perk, but they never adapted by doing the counter cause it didn't work effectively against the top tier killers at the time (nurse with fatigue bug and billy) so they rushed gens instead, than everyone followed the rank 1 trend. Same with looping. Before only toxic survivors looped. Those of us who weren't toxic used to even body block looping survivors to help the killer. Than after bbq we started to loop as well.
The key issue here is that survivors never adapted, that is the issue. Instead they came here complaining about BBQ. I don't have any issues with BBQ when I play survivor and that's not bragging, it's a simple thing to do.
Doesn't matter if you have an issue or not. I have no issue either, but if my teammates die constantly in 2 seconds cause of BBQ, that affects my game as well, since I need a team to survive.
That to mean is an issue with the ranking system. They've made it too easy to rank up and there's a lot of rank 1's that shouldn't be. If they were truly deserving of that rank, BBQ wouldn't be causing them an issue. I think your complaints should be at the ranking system from what you're telling me, not BBQ.
I gave up on them sorting the ranking system. It might even be impossible.

I just want to make sure I'm understanding everything so far, so to clarify:If a player wants to completely avoid another player for whatever reason, their best bet is an exterior program that shows you the pings (and IPs) of everyone you're in a lobby with called M.L.G.A. This software can also let the user ban players via IP if they want to.
Multiple players are against the use of this software because they understand that immature and excess use of the software can have a negative exterior effect on other players.
Other players don't see why people need M.L.G.A as some of its features can be done in command prompt.
Is this all?
- Yes, you can blacklist any ip. You can't actually ban it. just tag it.
- Mostly yeah, it can have negative effects, some positive though. Say a killer is toxic or cheating ,lag switching, wallhack , if he gets blocked and doesn't get any lobbies, he basically can't play.
- This doesn't make sense. The idea is you can't get banned, since all it does is to monitor your network's active connection. Basically it simplifies something you can do in windows itself.
-
or netstat -n in cmd, same thing
-
Lol, MLGA is not bannable, they can't ban you for monitoring your network. We've been through this a hundred times on the steam forums.

Some of your suggestion will be probably part of future perk changes. I used to run vigil before the exhaustion changes and I would love a change where u can recover it while running but not during a chase. Would be too huge buff and it would get top meta. Also I don't see your argument working for u after all because a survivor who needs to rely on multiply sprint perk uses isn't deserving his rank either. Also I can't agree on the stun/ drop suggestion it's something you have to time right like a flashlight safe. Actions that are saving survs fromgetting hooked are supposed to be risky and "difficult". Tgey just really need to fix the ranking system first. Right now it's impossible to get a good view on high rank plays.Considering how few pallets there are now, you got situations in which the first survivor chased will use most of the pallets, leaving next to nothing for the other 3, so Vigil will come in handy here in a chase of that sort.

Sinner said:We all know they're coming, because the game is in the worst state I've ever seen it in the 2 years I've been playing. Rank 1 is a complete disaster, almost every game someone suicides on the hook or disconnects.
The reason you are seeing so many hook suicides is a result of the event, not actual gameplay. As for the DCs, that's probably a result of anger which also comes with the event.
Survivors that haven't maxed out serums still need their vials so if they aren't getting any vials they'll DC or hook suicide. Once they get their full vial they'll hook suicide anyway just to get to the next match and vial sooner.
Killers that still need serum need 6 event hooks to fill one vial. This means that they need at least 4 people in a lobby to offer Pustula Petals for a full vial. So when they do get this opportunity sometimes survivors bully and harass the killer to deny event hooks. This leads to anger and DCs. The problems aren't really attributed to the balance right now, they're just event annoyances.
It has been accentuated to extremes, yeah. But this happened before and now when they're all done with vials as well.

I did read your thread but half of the suggested stuff is just strange. I agree to some point Dance with me for example is pretty much useless i agree. But Selfcare is currently the best perk in the game period. I loop rank 1 Killers for more than 40 seconds all day mate. That has nothing to do with how good a killer is it is about what killer he is. If its a nurse yes 40 seconds is long for a nurse, a freddy on the other hand is goodlike if he gets a hit on a rank 1 survivor after 40 seconds
What loop? they added view blockers. You can mindgame loops now even better. There's also Spirit Fury, so no more respecting pallets. Plenty of killers do it fine maybe not with you or me bu they do it with your teammates, one dies, its game over.

I'm kinda along the same lines as @Dreamnomad, though he beat me to the post. A couple of these suggestions aren't bad. A better ranking system is definitely needed, kindred is a great perk that could use a slight buff, vigil should let exhaustion recover while running, dance with me should have a buff, sole survivor should counter BBQ, sabotage is really slow at 50% speed, diversion is bad, and NOED and DS suck. The way you can see the survivor bias isn't the suggestions themselves at all, it's the magnitude. (With the exception of self care, that perk is finally as close as being balanced as it will ever be.)
So let's say with dance with me we either take off the cool down or vastly extend it so that it's more useful, with vigil we let it affect exhaustion at a % reduced speed while running, we make it so that sole survivor makes it more difficult for BBQ to detect you, we make it so that kindred has a slightly bigger range on the killers aura reading, etc, etc. All good suggestions, but with moderation.
Kindred doesn't necessarily has to have a bigger range. The problem with countering bbq is that survivors are spread out, there's 3 of them and they don't counter it, taking the 33% chance that the killer will go for someone else. This way you can see for whom the killer is going and they can do the traditional counter, run in a direction and than go somewhere else.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
Oh yeah, I forgot to reply to this part: "Pallets: revert it back to when you could stun a killer picking up a survivor at whatever point in the animation". I completely agree with this. It is utter and complete BS when a killer gets hit by the pallet and doesn't drop the survivor. When I'm playing as killer and this happens, I'll still hook the player if I haven't hooked them yet for the BBQ token, but I'll take note of the player and give them one "get out of jail free" card. At a later point in the game I'll slug them and walk away. That only seems fair.Thank you for the constructive reply, unlike these toxic noob killers which are only here to harass people that try to bring some good suggestions, which will affect their noob gameplay.
Regarding kindred, I haven't thought about it too much. Either a BP bonus similar to WGLF or maybe some extra immunity for the unhook. Say you get unhooked, you have 4-5 seconds immunity. Counter both camping and BBQ. People would use it for sure.

I started killing myself as well. Reason is. while I consider myself a decent rank 1 survivor, some of the teammates I get aren't. I mean, they don't even know how to dodge a nurse and make simple mistakes. With the recent changes you can't really make any mistakes, since any noob can easily catch less than optimal survivors. So I kill myself because I played enough games after these changes to know where it's going. Nowhere fun. I'll keep killing myself until I find a good team or the devs makes some changes. I'd start with killer aura reading perks.
Or they could rework the ranking system again, since that was always the biggest issue of this game. How often have you heard killers say that they depip because they don't enjoy the red ranks? This before all the crazy buffs to killers. Well, what the hell were they doing there? They shouldn't have been allowed to reach rank 1 if they can't improve their gameplay to handle rank 1 survivors. What? You think rank 1 survivors didn't die before? You think they had 100% escape rate? No, lol, it was around 50%. I know, I experienced it. I had games where i didn't escape at least 5 times in a row. And this with double pallets, vacuum and all that crap. It's just you don't see good killers if you are a noob forum killer and don't play rank 1 survivor. Cause they don't sit on the forums and complain all they.
-
I ######### told every good killer I met in DbD to go on the forums and post about his experience, because the forums are full of noob killers and bad players in general that complain all the time and if the devs listen to only them, it will be a disaster. It's too late now my friend.

The one thing I'll agree with on flashlights is that they should adjust it so that when the killer is picking up a survivor, you should be able to get the flashlight blind/stun during the pickup animation and not have to wait to land it until the person is all the way picked up. With the faster pick up animation on killers, that is only fair.Pretty much what this guy said. That was how it always worked. It's actually a bug. They fixed it and the killers cried so they reverted teh changes.
So you want easy flashlight saves because you're not good enough for regular ones. Just spell it out.
No, I want easier flashlight saves rather than almost impossible. Otherwise, the flashlight is just another useless item like BNP.

The one thing I'll agree with on flashlights is that they should adjust it so that when the killer is picking up a survivor, you should be able to get the flashlight blind/stun during the pickup animation and not have to wait to land it until the person is all the way picked up. Op is right, BBQ became too strong when chases became shorter. It's no longer a good solution to stop camping and tunneling.
I actually think tunneling was fixed with the self care nerf, sort of. I mean you have to be pretty stupid to go for the same guy now.
If you tunnel:
Guy on hook gets saved and goes on the chase straight away. Savior goes back to his gen and finishes in peace.
If you don't tunnel:
Guy on hook has to heal forever and than go look for a gen. Savior is busy in a chase. -
They should, otherwise they would look really stupid. Also, they tend to listen to killers baby tears a lot.

What do you expect? With all the nerfs to survivors that have been happening for over a year, game got ######### for them so they dc in hopes they will find a better match.

When they increased the time on hook, it helped a lot against camping. I guess they can add 10-20 more seconds if it were to become an issue. But let's be honest, who's gonna stay and camp, while the other survivors are doing all the gens. I mean that's not a fun game, it's all about the chase. So you want them to chase, but you also want to remove their ability to know where to go to initiate chases.
Have you played before leatherface?
Yes. I've been playing from the start. How about you?
There are times when you've no idea where to go. No missed skill checks, no scratch marks, no crows flying away, no locker sounds, no audio notifications, no repaired generators, nothing. BBQ gives Killers an idea of where to go next when all else fails, and provides an incentive (BP) to hook different Survivors.Just check gens like before. You can't seriously say you can't find survivors if you don't have BBQ, c'mon.
