As you can see, it is controversial. And I'll make another out-of-game comparison: What other game nerfs the characters that aren't S tier? We've already seen multiple people admitting that he wasn't OP or S tier, but that he simply "wasn't fun to go against" aka they don't like to lose, and "he took no skill" which is a baseless cheap shot criticism that can be fired at pretty much any killer. What killers need now more than ever is strength, because survivors are way stronger than the killers, and quickscoping was a form of strength in this killer. The criticism against the unnerfed version of this killer has been overdramatized so hard at this point. One of the OP things that allegedly needs nerfing is Alchemist's Ring and Blight himself. So if that needs a nerf and Deathslinger needed his nerf, are we now saying that pre-nerf Deathslinger was as OP as Alchemist's Ring Blight? That's what it seems like to me.
"What other game nerfs the characters that aren't S tier?"
Tones of games out there and because I only really play Apex Legends and For Honor as my other main games, I can only use them as examples. Hell in For Honor characters that were D tier were nerfed in the past, and some weaker characters that had an annoying part of their kit nerfed but was later put onto characters that were much stronger to begin with.
Apex constantly changes up the meta. Guns and characters that were meta a year ago are possibly obsolete nowadays, al though the game doesn't suffer from much of a balance issue
If we want to go back on the original subject of non S tier characters getting nerfed I think the perfect example is Lifeline. Basically Lifeline's whole thing is her D.O.C (Drone of Compassion). Her passive is simply able to go over to a downed teammate and she deploys the drone and it automatically revives that downed teammate, well back in the day it used to have a shield that would project it self in the direction Lifeline was looking at. Even with this shield she was considered B or A tier at best since another Character simply did her job but better. Yet they still went in the direction of nerfing Lifeline.
Now, back to Dead by Daylight and Slinger, his quickscoping took skill. People who said otherwise are just talking out their ass. How ever it was definitely unfair. Since he provided literally no feedback of when he was going to do it. The difference with Huntress, Pyramid Head, Trickster, Nemesis and Artist, is they all have a clear indication of when they're readying their power, both with either a distinct audio queue or visual queue. Deathslinger was the outlier, not having either of these. (Don't tell me that a .2 second animation was a visual queue, no one in this world can react to that). Having no feedback of when Slinger was readying his power was just frustrating as you had no idea when he was going to shoot and you had no indicator.
This has been a common theme, being on the receiving end of having no feedback of when something is going to happen just doesn't feel fair
-
The difference is in FPS games both parties are actively shooting at each other, one isn't running away from the other
Thought this was pretty obvious
-
oh no! you lost 1 game out of your 20 because you got unlucky and some one sent you to RPD!
Silly MMR

Nurse: if a blink ends in a obstacle which would not let you through, it instead teleports you to the nearest location outside the obstacle.
This sounds good in theory but it could easily be abused by doing really fast and short blinks that cover longer distances than they should

You can down from a distance if you space out your UAV's, but yeah she doesn't have any cake (bhvr, pls fix)
-
A "comp ready team" probably isnt gonna get beaten by a Nurse in training, and if they do its because theyre ######### around
This was just a normal SWF
Also dont worry about what people say in endgame chat or in chat of literally any game out there, its just classic gaming banter at the end of the day

Detectives Hunch
Amazing for totems and to prevent a 3 gen, it also pairs very well Inner Strength or Boons since you can find said totems easily

Obviously!

ok but why play artist when i can play pyramid head
because pyramid head can send an airstrike on a Survivor cross map

The fact that Sadako is below Artist is a crime against humanity.
The fact Artist is so high is a crime against humanity.
Playing the crow can be pretty fun especially if you go for pog shots

All I wanted honestly is for a TV to turn on when a Survivor inserts a tape
Its more of a thematic change since her whole thing is about spreading this message
Now I say "wanted", thats because this is pretty cool too

@DangerScouse said:
There really isn't such thing as "solo" survivor either. You have 3 other teammates in there with you to help with rescues and gens. You don't need to be on comms to run rings around most killers.
Yeah Im a killer main too

"If you really believe you need to be in communication to play well solo Q isnt the issue.. its you."
lmao
-
The number of charges were actually more than listed here
Worn Out Tools - 80 charges (15% increase in repair speed)
Toolbox - 130 charges (15% increase in repair speed)
Commodious Toolbox - 180 charges (15% increase in repair speed)
Mechanics Toolbox - 80 charges (20% increase in repair speed)
Engineers Toolbox - 80 charges (25% increase in repair speed
Alex' Toolbox - 130 charges (10% increase in repair speed)
-
sorry to break the news to you sunshine, but using a perk aint abusing it
Also blaming SWF for your losses aint gonna get you anywhere
-
I remember playing Myers and the moment I stalked my way to tier 2
I had 4 Survivors stalk back

cool story bro

the difference between a 110 and a 115 moving across pretty much any map is roughly 2 seconds

This is quite a lot, but I'll say reviving a survivor or resetting every survivor's hooks by one is exponentially more powerful than resetting a single gen. Also the last thing I want to do as a killer is to ignore survivors to go off massage pustules or whatever.
It may seem a lot but thats because you have to remember, the Survivors are on a timer now
If they ignore the Entity's Satisfaction, the trial will progress much faster meaning they have less time to complete gens. In this version, the Endgame Collapse can start even if there are still gens remaining

Making a Trapper step in his own trap
Having god take the wheel and hitting the most satisfying curve of your life as Billy
Burning a Nurse
Seeing that one Claudette's portrait who's been doing nothing all game finally have a scratch across her face
Hitting a triple hit as Artist
Cant really think of anything else

Most times thats the only time I can play killer since Im only done work at 11

"Adding consistency" to this system for her is a net nerf. And the Pig has had enough nerfs and no buffs throughout her lifetime as a killer.
Her last significant buff was 2.5.0.
This system allows her power to be useful and act as a constant threat for survivors. And leaves room for buffs that doesn't have to dance around stupid RNG.
Not to mention that, your system would break itself with Bag of Gears + Crate Of Gears/Tampered Timer which is the deadly combination for Pig at the moment because it pretty much cheeses you during the RNG.
its not a nerf, its a change
you can have games where all Survivors remove their trap on the first box, you can also have games where every survivor has to search the last box
Its inconsistent and its not fun having RNG determine whether or not you win the game
This system I'm proposing can still act as a threat, you don't know how many boxes you yourself have to search just like now. Its just now her slowdown can be played with it in mind and you can have a some what predictable outcome. You have a better idea of how much more time you're gonna gain from a more consistent system
Also I don't know how my system would break with these add on? Could you explain?
-
@EntitySpawn said:
Personally I just want the rng removed. Rather have it take 3box searches (any 3) to remove it, like every box has a key and you need 3.
The rng is what ruins it for me, everyone gets it off on the first/second search and that mixed with her awful dash meh.
I get at a lower mmr her dash could be good or if you have great luck with rng she may be abit better but for me pig is one of the worst killers
While I agree the RNG should be removed I don't think it should be that way, as it is now searching boxes can feel tense and you just hope it can be that next box or you're screwed
What I think it should be, is 10 boxes need to be searched spread across each Survivor, so maybe you'll get a 3/4/2/1, maybe 4/4/2/2, 1/3/3/3, etc. This way it adds a bit more consistency to her slow down
As for her ambush, no idea what they could do for that

boons are arguably the strongest perks in the game, you can still cleanse the totems, i would like to see snuffed boons break or more rekindle charges, maybe 2-3 rekindles per totem? survs can still boon rekindle totems iirc
They cant boon rekindled totems

Don’t see myself dropping chase, patrolling gens, or leaving a hooked survivor to rekindle three totems in one go! Guess if it works for you though!
I never said rekindling them all in one go, you can rekindle one, maybe two at a time when the conditions are right and you can actually afford to do so
Think of it like a Survivor with D Strike, if theyre going out of their way to use it and ignore their objective it hurts them and the team more than it benefits them, the same thing can be applied to Pentimento
-
@GoshJosh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2878591#Comment_2878591
That’s only as long as at least one rekindled totem stays up. I dare you to run Pentimento and see how many tokens you can get, and for how long.
I use Pentimento Plaything on a few killers, and most of the time when 3 totems are cleansed thats when I go around lighting them
You just gotta find the right time to rekindle them, its a high risk high reward
-
yeah, constant 30% speed penalty on gens
what could go wrong?

Because they started out broken
Both sides had their fair share of nuclear options
Most if not all nuclear options for Survivors are gone or an extremely toned down version of what they once were

The devs have been more than fair to the survivors since forever. Why was Pinhead, Wraith, and Deathslinger nerfed?
Look at this games history, Survivors have been getting weaker and weaker every year

I was under the impression we couldn't switch killers because our MMR was different for each killer. If that's the case, someone tell me why I get sweaty swfs with flashlights and DH when I load in as a killer I've played twice lmfao
Definitely miss the lobby swap option. Sometimes you can just tell when a group deserves your main instead of the one you're leveling up.
In a perfect world, yeah MMR would actually function and your matches would differ between killers
But MMR doesnt and never will work

Dead Hard

Dead Hard without a doubt
since CoH could still be nerfed with just a general nerf to healing <-- actual issue btw, CoH just sheds light on it!
