Gosh, that's going to need a lot of scaling. Parts of the game are going to change non-linearly, and so scaling this and that is going to be a nightmare, considering the amount of permutations of not only killers, but perks that can be used. 4 exit gates, 10 generators, doubling the amount of windows and pallets, and expanding the map are the only straightforward parts, and even they may need to be scaled for synergetic growth.

Make it so that restaurants can't make you pay with iPads. I don't want to be touching those dirty, musty screens and choosing from a 100% to 1,000,000% tip rate.
Buff autodidact too, I guess, but mostly get rid of iPads as cashiers.

If killer somehow gets a long chase with you he deserved it. You still have a lot of time to escape one long chase. It's extremely hard for killer to follow you
It's not that hard to see a survivor. You simply orient your camera in their direction and you're set. Even while looping, you can hear footsteps to ascertain if they're still here or not, and if not, you snoop around until you find them. Good luck keeping that under less than 29 seconds.

As a Pig main, I need Halo Top ice cream, 320 calories for one pint oh my godddddddd

It means "I need to project my own lack of skill onto other people and uses loaded words to make myself feel better about losing a video game."
The objective of survivors is literally to do generators. It's the point of the game. Imagine what would happen if "hook-rushing" was taboo. It's a wholly unreasonable demand to say, "don't do gens, just sit around and do nothing."
Sometimes, it can get frustrating when it feels like the generators are flying, but that's not the survivors' fault. That's their job. It's up to the killer to prevent that, with a fair bit of luck too.

dude.... pools of blood are the best thing to track someone with. scratch marks are way less consistent and spotty at best sometimes. removing blood pools would be hella strong even without scratch marks. you can walk to hide scratch marks, but you cannot hide blood pools.
They do different jobs. Scratch marks help you tell that there's a survivor nearby, pools of blood help you precisely locate that survivor (assuming there isn't grass).

And it's still enough for 2 chases. Lucky break is okay now
You'll spend the good majority of a chase injured. After leaving chase, you have to find someone to heal you. Healing takes 16 seconds, 45-16=29, so you better wrap up that chase and find someone to heal you in 29 seconds for one chase, which is pretty ridiculous. That's assuming there isn't Sloppy Butcher and that you aren't interrupted.

45s is still enough for 2 chases. More than enough
It still ticks down when outside of chase and while in chase. Healing is already 16 seconds after you find another guy to heal you.

They always do changes from PTB to live, Lucky Break deserves it especially because it's too strong, they should just make it permenantly hide blood pools and keep scratch marks, it hiding scratch marks + blood pools coupled with Iron Will can make it almost impossible to track even a bad survivor if you lose LoS.
Really? I thought that they tried to while still in PTB before going live, like with Ghostface.
-
Well it's not limited to blinds, but that's the idea, yeah. Plus, 90 seconds isn't that much, and it can actually be a favor to you if they prioritize healing over gens to protect their precious perk slot.

You'd have to ask the people for whom representation matters. I'm not one of them, I'm just advocating for them. I will say, though, that having literally just one is most likely a very good start.

BHVR isn't the final sayer on lore, especially when it's left open and ambiguous.
Yes, they are. "Death of the author" is a silly concept. If BHVR says something is X, then it is X.
And why is it the case that BHVR gets some kind of imperative that puts them on the top? What gives them the monopoly and sole proprietorship over truth as it pertains to DBD?
It's not even death of the author, bless Lindsay Ellis' heart, it's just the idea that truth is only so much as what you want it to be. I can retcon Ron to have married Draco and Joanne can go bleep herself.

We're Russian immigrants (to Canada) and just to put it out there- Katya actually doesn't speak Russian LOL. He couldn't understand us at all when we spoke it to him ( because we thought maybe he did). Just as funny and likeable irl though.
Yeah she speaks fluent French but I doubt she's a masochist enough to want to learn to speak Russian. Her only fluent language is the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster.

It's not a retcon, it's a lore expansion. And your point is moot when most people want exactly what I said: a line in the lore, just like heterosexuals got. You're creating a strawman, plain and simple, instead of listening to what people are actually saying.
Again, tomayto tomahto. it's modifying the lore to tack on the label of "gay," which wasn't accepted well by a lot of good and bad actors in the community.
That's not what a strawman is. I didn't impugn anybody of holding any contention, this or that. What I did say was that creating a gay character is usually a catch-22, and creating one that actually gets a good reception by the community is just a lot of work that BHVR might not find compelling to do. DBD sales aren't going to go up if there's a gay guy in the mix. Overwatch's sales didn't go up when and because Soldier 76 got his reveal, same with when Tracer got her reveal.
Plus, it's not like most of the characters are decidedly straight. Most of their lores make no mention of romantic entanglements, with some exceptions like Nurse and David (I think) using them as character development. BHVR isn't the final sayer on lore, especially when it's left open and ambiguous. Whoever makes Overwatch hasn't made any comment on Zarya's sexuality but ask anybody in the community and they'll tell you she's a lesbian (which is kind of going back to the point about "distinct LGTBQ features," since they're really just judging her based on how she looks and talks).

Nobody said anything about changing the lore, that's all you. We're talking about additions to the lore, like the tomes, or even completely new characters. So the Overwatch thing isn't relevant.
Tomatyo tomahto. The point isn't about changing and modifying already existing characters (the devs already did an LGBT retcon, we don't know who though). The point is about the paradox between adding significant changes and staying away from unflattering stereotypes, since most so-called "LGBT" traits are considered in some negative light.

Right, but as I said, just changing a few words in post makes it seem like a diversity hire.
Not changing, doing it similarly, but changing a pronoun. It's really not that complicated. And if we're going to kowtow to bigots, what did our forefathers fight and die for?
Let's keep the theatrics out of this. We aren't bowing down to anybody and I don't even know who my grandparents are. Again. Non-substantial changes = Overwatch crapshow.

How do you effectively convey that a character is gay?
You know how they conveyed Nurse had a husband? It's the same, but instead of "husband", it's "wife".
Right, but as I said, just changing a few words in post makes it seem like a diversity hire. Video game history is rife with people freaking out about characters turning out to be gay because some editor changed the pronouns of their significant other. Soldier 76 got tweaked to be gay and the toxic hellhole that is the Overwatch community went nuts. F-slurs flying everywhere, bad-faith actors crying diversity hire, good-faith actors crying diversity hire, you name it.
-
It's a precarious tightrope for BHVR to run. Almost always, there will be a catch-22 between getting called out for a so-called "diversity hire" or basing them off of stereotypes.
If BHVR just adds in that the next character had a same sex lover and that doesn't cause any substantial difference than if they were straight, or unidentified sexually (as is the case for most characters now), then people call them out for just duct taping the "LGBT" epithet on as a diversity label to get tax benefits. Meanwhile, if they have it so that the character displays so-called "gay" traits, then they get called out for offensive stereotypes.
And that's the paradox in the whole situation. How do you effectively convey that a character is gay? Most gay peoples just want to be treated like a normal person. You can't tell always tell that a guy is gay by looking at them (yes there are straight drag queens). But the few "gay" character traits there are, (lisps, effeminate behavior, etc), are decidedly insulting. You can't make a superficially "gay" character without making it seem like a shallow and cheap appeal to LGBT peoples, but you can't make a substantially "gay" character without involving some negative stereotypes. What are they gonna do? Walk faster? (psst, we already have fixated).
There are some cases where a character is distinguishably "gay" while still extricating them from negative stereotypes. Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchkova are drag queens and still the best people you'll ever know. If you add in the inner repression of sexuality involved with growing up gay in a less-than-excited family and/or society as a major part of a character's backstory, then you'd have a case (albeit a bit cliché). But those require superb and tactful story-building skills. And that's just a minefield of controversy that BHVR doesn't need.
-
Matches can go so many ways and there are so many factors involved in deciding the outcome of a game that it's impossible to tell. There's absolutely no way to tell if DbD is killer or survivor sided; it's just not that simple.
-
He's one of those hit-or-miss killers. By the nature of traps, Trapper can sit by and let the team wreck themselves. If not being actually disabled by traps, then the fear of getting trapped will pressure survivors into making poor decisions. A good trapper cleaves through bad teams, so they were correct in that regard.
-
Welp, guess BHVR is run by psychopaths.

Zarina looks like a good conversationalist but I bet she drives a Prius. Jane was likable enough to become a talk show host, but she isn't coming 12 feet near me with that god awful pantsuit. Kate and David are bimbos and himbos respectively, which means small talk is going to be either clothes or football. Nobody's going to be able to hear Jeff talk through that unkempt bush over his mouth. Yui seems like a cool chick but she's a motorcycle racer so she can't be that great. Ace would steal your wallet. Feng probably wears a Belle Delphine outfit in public. Jake doesn't talk. Nea is just plain unpleasant.
The lesson is that everybody's in the entity's realm for a reason <3
-
Twins are more interactive but a lot harder to play effectively. Their power doesn't lead you to a direct playstyle, it's left open for you to interpret. Deathslinger is prone to becoming dull and repetitive, but is a lot more straightforward. I'd say slinger, most likely, but it's up to you.
-
No, it's only cosmetic reworks that are happening at the moment.
-
It gets blown way out of proportion by a lot of people, but it really is a pretty terrible perk, in terms of healthy game design. The Small Game buff made it easier to clear out NOED outside of an SWF, along with most hexes in general, but it should never be the case that 1 perk is dedicated to the nullification another perk, and it's just a really badly designed effect that's too powerful for what it tries to achieve. Cancel NOED, buff rancor, make Trixie Mattel a killer, Katya should have won season 2 of All Stars.

I don't think that anybody's explicitly said that yes, every single outfit will be reworked to be congruous to the base survivor skin (especially those that don't jive with new bodily features, likes Meg's hair), but it would be a pretty big oversight not to.

It's actually not high risk because if the killer didn't slug you should have won the game anyway. You have to slug if you want to win against good survivors. There literally isn't time to one hook each survivor one at a time. If you lost without the killer doing any slugging either you or your team played bad.
IE it's a win/win scenario running it.
I was thinking more in the case that the killer is just that good, so you're down a perk slot that could have been DS or DH. It's a downside based off of potential.

Why is it still a thing in this game for killers to not get punished for camping? I play both roles and for killer its way easier and faster to go after all the survivors and not camp the one. Then as a survivor you loose pips because you lost the chase you cant get gen points your on a hook so you cant get chase points so your just loosing out on points because of a camping killer seems very fair. And before you comment yes i know killers loose blood points for camping but that only if another survivor isnt getting chased or are near in the killers terror radius. So at the end of the day survivors take a big L IN THIS situation. Not only that you hardly can win chases with pallet stuns being broke and some survivor perks being broken. Then killers got insaine lunge reach hitting you like mr fantastic from fantastic 4
Try Cameraderie. Usually, those 30-something seconds are not enough, but it's the general idea of how a camping counter would work. I really think it should be based off of the killer's distance to the hook and jacked up to 80 seconds, but it's a step.

You won't get your point across by throwing around meaningless accusations. The fact of the matter is that the game is far from perfect for both sides. But patience is a virtue and nobody's forcing you to play, so if that's how the game makes you feel, here's the door.
