The totems between lockers on the new Ormond map can't be pentimentoed PC0 comments 21 views last activity

I don't play survivor very much, but the few times I do, the hatch is a huge relief--it lets me know that in the not-so-unlikely chance that my team is a total flop, I still have a fighting chance. I play killer much more often, though, and I don't think there's any sort of similar consolation prize for killers. Would it be necessary for killers to have one? What would a killer hatch look like?51 comments 811 views last activity

Sadako's normal M1 attack shoots out a ring that translates to "curse" in Kanji. Her "Rotten Remains" outfit has a different weapon, though. In Hanja, it translates to "hatred," but I have no clue if it's the same in Kanji. Can anybody confirm what it says?5 comments 861 views last activity

With potential energy, you can store up 1% of generator progression for every 1.5% you spend charging. That means that 1.5 generator%=1 PE%, so you're practically repairing the generator at 1%/1.5 seconds, which translates to a rate of .667%/second. If you repair a generator normally, you repair it at 1%/second. However, with four people on a generator at once, each person repairs it at .55%/se8 comments 341 views last activity

I've been eyeing a new graphics card and I was really surprised to see how experience GeForce cards were. Radeon seems to be a little cheaper, but I also noticed that Intel just released their Arc discrete GPU lineup. I heard that they have some pretty bad issues with running DirectX 11 games though, ranging from bad performance to straight-up not working. The Arcs look to be a lot cheaper, tho0 comments 91 views last activity

Well I finally managed to pry my eyes off of Vittorio's shirtless skin for long enough to think about what killer I should get next. I narrowed it down to three choices: Artist, Sadako, and Blight. Artist seems the most fun on paper, Sadako seems to be the same but I've heard people say she's a little weak, and Blight looks similarly fun but seems to need a lot of skill. Any pointers?6 comments 141 views last activity

Especially with older models, printers tend to be very noisy, just like ghostface's chase music. Listening to the noise a printer makes while pushing out another paper and listening to ghostface's chase theme, you'll hear that those mechanical sound effects sound oddly similar--they're both a monotonous drones with equally-spaced short breaks interrupting at constant intervals. Based on the whooshing air in her chase music and the phasing sound effects, the wind is a major part of the Spirit's lore, just like many ghosts and spirits in mythologies around the world. It's an invisible force that can still move things, just like the Spirit. She also has an add-on called furin, a type of Japanese wind chime. When there are many hung up in a windy area, they ring just like0 comments 31 views last activity

Trillium grandiflorum grows abundantly in Montreal, where BHVR HQ is located. I just thought that it's a cute little detail about the inspiration behind the perk's graphical design. They don't have any particular uses in tinctures or herbal medicine though, so Claudette is a total fraud. That's all folks3 comments 41 views last activity

So I found some free time recently to finally start reading over the Artist’s lore, and I’m pretty confused so far. I know each killer is supposed to have some kind of fundamental emotion that compels them to bring NOED every match (The Pig and her jealousy, the Plague and her devotion, the Trickster and his terrible fashion choices), but Carmina just seems like a nice painter with a dead family.4 comments 191 views last activity

I finally got around to reading the addon descriptions with the new percentages, and it was a bit confusing for me. If you move at 6.9 m/s, and you get a 4.20% increase to movement speed and then another 2% increase to movement speed, would that translate to you getting a 6.20% increase to movement speed (6.9+.062*6.9)?2 comments 151 views last activity

I'm trying to pick up Hag again (because I've burned through every other killer and my friends tell me she's fun), but all the usual killer tips don't work with her and I can't seem to wrap my head around her power. The traps end up hurting me more than helping me, and I can't figure out how to effectively chase with her. Survivors either just run away while I'm setting a trap or set it off at a5 comments 123 views last activity

It seems like a bit of an oversight that deliverance is completely ignored if you're the last survivor to be hooked (where you go straight to struggle regardless of your hook state). It doesn't seem like there's any actual purpose to this mechanic, to me at least.47 comments 851 views last activity

I just booted up the game after a long break and these boons are kind of confusing. I know survivors can bless hex totems, and that I can reverse card those blessings, but does that restore the hex back to the totem?5 comments 361 views last activity

So Lucky Break got buffed up to 60 seconds (which is still lower than its original PTB value but is still decent), and I'm still yet to see more than 2 Lucky Breaks in almost a month. There's still better perks and it's still pretty much a 1 or 2-time activation perk, but it's still pretty respectable, even if you have to pair it with Iron Will. And yet I barely ever see it. So in the new developer update for this month, it was noted that no way out would be buffed to have a maximum of 60 seconds of blockage, and will only activate when a survivor goes to touch a gate, which can prolong its effect even longer. I don't know this might feel from a survivor perspective (I can guess it might feel boring since it essentially blocks off your only objective for a while),6 comments 91 views last activity

I was thinking about getting a new PC and I was thinking about upgrading from my current 8 GB of ram to something higher, considering that performance is really not that great. I really don't know what's bottlenecking it for sure (since the other components are pretty decent), but I suspect it might be the RAM. Any tips?11 comments 472 views last activity

So to my understanding, the pipping system is meant to somewhat reflect a player's skill, but being facecamped and sacrificed on first hook makes it such that you get downed one time and then depip, after being denied the ability to demonstrate said requisite skill. Is that particularly fair? (And this is with regard to game health not mechanics, I know how pipping works.)16 comments 201 views last activity

I just had like 20 games where at least 2 survivors died on their first hook (not suicides, 2 whole minutes of dying on first hook). A lot of time, their teammates aren't even on generators. Is anybody else seeing this too?2 comments 31 views last activity

Disclaimer: "Pig is underrated" is not "Pig is too OP nerf now toxic no-skill killer" Pig's hats really are fantastic game delay, if you think about it. Having a hatted survivor essentially takes them out of commission, and since survivors are so reliant on synergy, it's like having one survivor who's essentially dead for the entirety of them trying to get their hat off. If they don't immediatel28 comments 331 views last activity

I get a lot that Myers is woefully underpowered in comparison to other killers (with the exception of tombstones, of course). Most complaints I hear are about the issue of map pressure, and to solve this, they usually turn to teleportation. But we already have 2 teleportation killers and we've seen the reception to those. Most Demo players are too occupied to set up portals and half the reason p6 comments 81 views last activity

I know iron will is affected by stridor, since it gives you an actual modifier of explicit numbers, but bite the bullet just says that you don't make noise while healing, no mention of "grunts of pain are reduced by x%." Does this mean it overrides stridor no matter what?13 comments 201 views last activity

I might be late, who knows, but it looks like DS got shadowbuffed a while back. Whereas before, DS would permanently deactivate upon missing the skillcheck (meaning that you try to hit the skillcheck), now, missing the skillcheck will not disable it permanently and it will be saved for next time. It’ll still be deactivated if you miss the skillcheck once, but it will activate again until you su9 comments 231 views last activity

To clarify, I mean that people are treating Wraith like how they did to Freddy. I'm not saying he's that strong. And why they're saying that makes a little more sense than it may seem. People complained about Freddy because his blood puddles seemed like brute-force anti-looping power. Slowing survivors down for looping around a puddle was a bit lacking in nuance. I'm not saying it was that eff64 comments 1,381 views last activity

Have you considered that the only alternative is the solo queue experience? *dies on first hook* *laughs while self-caring in the corner of the map while that one guy ran the killer for 8 minutes* *has a generally unenjoyable experience in general* Edit: This is somewhat unrelated but the main lacking of SoloQ I'm poking at here isn't the lack of communication, it's the fact that you can end28 comments 461 views last activity

I recently made a post where I talked about how maybe playing in a so-called "toxic" way might not be so bad after all. The majority of responses were just calling out sweatlords and tryhards. And that wasn't very productive (or well-worded) so I'm trying again. Everybody knows that this game has the occasional toxic and sweaty matches. And people complain about them playing in such a way, but f3 comments 91 views last activity

So as we all know, the devs want to make DS an anti-getting-tunneled-off-of-hook perk exclusively, and they did this by narrowing its activation to solely the moments after being hooked. If you progress the game in any way, DS deactivates. So if you get tunneled, but not right off of hook, you're screwed because you either have to do nothing for 60 seconds in anticipation of being tunneled (strat11 comments 121 views last activity

As of now, breakout doesn't stack (because a 60% increase to wiggle speed would set the wiggle time at 10 second, even worse if it grows compounded). For SWF, this is fine, since you can coordinate with the survivor who has breakout and organize a plan, but in solo queue, you don't have that luxury, and if you brought breakout, you risk another survivor having breakout and your perk just being pl7 comments 101 views last activity

I distinctly remember that a lot of people here were panicking over lucky break becoming a new meta-defining OP 4-man SWF perk. Even after the timer was cut in half from the PTB to live, the same fears abounded. Yet, I hardly ever see lucky breaks now. Everything looks exactly the same, save DS. If anything, lucky break was more popular before the changes, for what I can see.55 comments 841 views last activity

So I recently had a game that didn't go so well because I was trying to have a sweatless game with Trickster running haunted ground/undying. But because RNGesus hates my guts I got 4 Neas with flashlights who T-bagged throughout the entire game. To most people, the usual refrain is to be the "better man" and just play normal, regardless of how much you want to bring in the stridor/NOED Spirit.54 comments 731 views last activity

It just hit me what the cursed condition of soul guard was meant to do: nobody likes losing their hexes, and therefore losing a perk slot for the rest of the game, so they added soul guard to give survivors a reason not to cleanse hexes, and let killers keep their hexes until it became absolutely necessary to get rid of the hex. The infinite self-recoveries is meant to be a benefit the survivor g17 comments 272 views last activity

I get that the developers don't all speak English as their primary language and the concept sounds great, but I feel like boon isn't the best name. Why not "charm" or "prayer" or something?14 comments 171 views last activity

So I finally started paying attention to the stalk meter, and I realized that sometimes, after you finish stalking, the stalk meter sometimes jumps back a little bit. EG, you stalk someone to 98% of the stalk meter, you stop stalking, and the bar depletes to 95% for no reason after you stop stalking. What's that about?4 comments 61 views last activity

I can kind of see why streaming has a lot more pomp to it than a simple release on the website with text but wouldn't it be a lot more simple and accessible if they just released the new content in boring old letters?4 comments 81 views last activity

A lot of people have been hailing small game as the counter to NOED. And it's true, it is a decent counter. But is it really the best idea to have one perk in order to deal with the threat of another perk? Wouldn't it be much better if said perk in need of a counter was made so that it wouldn't need a counter, especially when that counter takes the spot of one precious perk slot out of four? So I've run out of creative ideas and my next build concept is a skillcheck doctor. I already figured distressing, unnerving presence, huntress' lullaby (one of my favorite perks and I finally have an excuse to use it), and overcharge. For add-ons, I'm really clueless. I figured iri queen because it's gonna help me spread madness, but I just really need ideas for the add-on part of this.0 comments 1 views last activity

I've been finding a lot of key users lately, and Franklin's has been my go-to, but I hate that perk and want some alternatives, and figured that shortcuts from their side can be met with shortcuts from this side. So is it still considered "toxic" to tunnel a survivor who brings a key? Especially now that I don't have to worry about DS, it kind of seems like tunneling is the proportionate response26 comments 311 views last activity

Title says it all. I really don't want to promote another perk-versus-other perk kind of situation (like when enduring would pretty much negate DS so now both sides are just down a perk slot), but at the same time, I don't want to deal with NOED. Any tips?27 comments 391 views last activity

I feel like forcing survivors to drop their items is kind of like petty theft, but at the same time, keys exist so it's kind of necessary. So what's the general consensus of Franklin's Demise? Toxic or a necessary evil?41 comments 751 views last activity

Usually, when I play killer, downing a survivor who is currently unhooking allows the unhook to complete and then the rescuer goes down, the unhooked survivor runs free. However, when I played survivor, I was downed during the unhook animation and the unhook interaction was immediately stopped. What decides if it goes through or not?2 comments 61 views last activity

I've just picked up my solo queue adventures again and I can't say I'm happy I came back. Most generator control perks in DBD are pgtw, pgtw, or pgtwop (and sometimes ruin), which will only help you if you're already doing well enough to get hooks. And that's great, but survivors have perks like fast track to help them get a leg up when the game isn't going too hot. Shouldn't killers have another mode of generator control than pop, one that's more passive and one that helps you reboun6 comments 101 views last activity
