Understanding why people sweat in games
I recently made a post where I talked about how maybe playing in a so-called "toxic" way might not be so bad after all. The majority of responses were just calling out sweatlords and tryhards. And that wasn't very productive (or well-worded) so I'm trying again.
Everybody knows that this game has the occasional toxic and sweaty matches. And people complain about them playing in such a way, but few really know why they play that way. And I, as a filthy casual tampered timer/jigsaw's plan gamer am the best equipped to address this.
People run the same four perks every time (AKA, sweat) because they come across other people who run the same four perks every time. The unfortunate reality of perks is that some are more powerful than others, and especially without powerful perks to counteract them from the other side, the match can begin to feel unbalanced. That T-bagging Nea who flashlight clicks you after hitting you with a 59 second DS used to be a soft and sweet Cheryl main who just wanted to run a breakout build but got a sweaty Make your Choice hag.
Sure, it can get stale running the same four perks every game, but that's how you win. It sure feels better than getting facecamped by a Bubba and tunneled off of the hook because you didn't have DS or Borrowed Time. It sure feels better than getting swept at 5 gens against a stridor spirit because you didn't bring Iron Will.
Nobody on this Earth of 6 billion can say that they have never once hit a hooked survivor, t-bagged, run DS/DH/BT/Iron Will or an equivalent killer build. A lot of times, people run the same meta perk builds and play sweaty because they've had some bad games and don't want to have bad games anymore, and so it's just a cycle of perpetuating sweat where people's natural reactions guide them to a logical conclusion.
So next time you hook that Nea who brought a brand new part, finished a generator in your face, and DS'd you after you hooked 32 other people, remember that she once had the same experience as you. And then facecamp her with that knowledge in your heart.

If DeathGarden has shown me anything, it's that playing (or balancing) in good faith doesn't stop anyone from defaulting to the strongest builds/tactics.
So don't bother doing it unless you really don't care about the outcome. The only way you'll stop a Nea from running all those thing, the only way you get a guy to stop face camping is for the devs to come in and do something about it.
But the question is: Is it even a problem?
People like to complain about it so this is more of my cathartic "shut the hell up" post.
Nothing is wrong with try harding to win just dont expect the other player to do the same.
Example survivor bring haddonfield, a key and the best possible perk for them and its a swf on top of that dont expect the killer to give his all the killer is not stupid he know he have no chance of winning so the chance he go afk or dont try should be in youre expectation
