The basekit UB is still a concept, i will not take it into an argument until it actually reaches live server. It will probably be nerfed to oblivion.

Yes, the rules says surv must repair, but the game produces a state where to repair means you will die 99.99%. And this state is not produced entirely because of the killer's skill as it is done

    the overnerf of the hatch

    The up of gen times

    the rise of slowdown/regressing meta

All 3 combined that makes you imposible to repair your way out of this state.

Yet, most killers expect and demand that survs repair knowingly they will die.

Yes because the game is over and the survivor's have lost. The hatch being available before one survivor left just leave's the killer feeling like they lost kills by no fault of there own which is true. Hatch is already a flip on a free escape, which can also be waited out until closed to try for doors. If I am a survivor I will repair a gen until my final chase comes.

Doesn't really matter, the point is they're happening and ruining a lot of matches. It's a huge problem for solo players.

I get the point, it's just the conversation is nearly useless. I can't stand DC's and my point is that anyone who has ever played another online video game would understand that it's not ok how much dc's happen regardless of balance. There is no point being made by the people who dc, it's just people not getting punished enough for it. League will ban you for like 4 DC's in a week for a couple weeks, next time it will be perma and guess what it's the biggest game in the world. These people defending the DC's are just clueless.

  • No point in these posts anymore. It's just the same people defending DC's and everyone else has actually played another online video game.

  • Ideal. As you said the fast disparity in power level between each side is insane. This is a unrealistic example but wraith with no add-ons and perks vs Blight with full meta c33/green speed or iri-tag/alch ring. Sometimes I'll hop on for a couple games and the first game will be people all running the best stuff, while I am running no gen regression and a couple green add-ons on blight, if on the off chance I head into my next game with the intent to match survivors running these strong builds 100% of the time I will go against people who are running a bunch of meme builds and who have no right to be matched against me in the first place. So I just run what sounds fun now instead of ever going full meta, with the exception of 4 med-kits=iri tag.

If they even did the first 3 things you listed in one patch the game would feel so much better.

  • @Orochi said:

Are people's games really this consistently bad like a lot of people parrot on this forum? And if so, I hate to sound like an ass but why are you still playing if it's truly that unpleasant?

Yeah people don't open the forums to talk about how their game's go well. Personally on both survivor and killer most things are blown out of proportion. I have been tunneled once in the 100 or so survivor games I have played since 6.1.0. I have been proxy camped by a new player and by huntress players a few times. On killer side people are not that toxic, but the one thing that is consistent is people tbagging/pointing until you push them out at the exit gate, even my survivor main friend doesn't understand that mob mentality.

  • I mean it's not nearly as frustrating as before and once I know you have it, it's very easy to bait out as blight if there is collision around. But having to sniff someone's neck as a m1 killer has always been really boring and dumb honestly. If you saw the last one that form of validation was the most frustrating thing in this game by far and very very forgiving, so in comparison it's not that bad really.

    @NerfDHalready said:

i think dh is fine as is now. they only need to add a buffer for dropping pallets after using it. i didn't really understand why they buffed the animation time, it was perfect for this reason

Also name does not check out.

  • Nah, any killer that is m1 can't be op. The only killer's that are actually op are nurse when she is running a strong build and blight when he is running a strong build plus a couple of his op add-ons which is really only 2 or 3. Though tbf alch ring is pretty fair when put up against strong survivor's running strong stuff, there is a reason the blight in otz's video on that huge win streak was running c33 and green speed.

Side note, there are a lot of killer's that only leave one option for counterplay.

  • I have to agree with rovend, what are you more likely to find one really good nurse or 4 good survivor's on the same team? For me even the comp teams I have gone against have one weak player. Nurse isn't really that hard, well really is any killer. Blight's definitely the hardest when including all collision and mechanics but even then, a couple weeks and you got most of it down mechanically. No one has actually mastered blight I guess and he is the only killer who each tile is player differently based on what's around it. But again 90% of the players in this game I would consider bad, not good or amazing. This is really specific to this game only in all of the multiplayer games I have played besides paladins. Just now I praised a survivor for being amazing for the first time in a couple months. Though tbf a lot of people do just play this game casually, not to actually improve and the mmr system does not help this fact.

Just wanted to reinforce your point. I've been playing Wraith and Ghost Face. Literally can't down people at certain spots, simply because they know how to play. So don't let people change your mind on the viability of those killers, because groupthink is very effective in this community.

People overestimate the effects of 6.1.0. As I said previously survivor's lost some power due to IW and DH being changed but gained some back in other areas. M1 killer's got most of the effects of the base kit buffs while killer's like blight and nurse got the gen times. tbf I think alch ring blight is fair vs comp teams/full sweat squads that are also good players running the best stuff, but it's not common to run into players like that. Though with the increase in full meta survivor's lately I can't imagine m1 killers are any better than 6.1.0. And I know I have said this a lot in my recent posts/replies but people in this game think they are WAY better than they actually are. While this is generally true in most multiplayer games, this is the only game I play where most players are bad straight up. It genuinely baffles me when people flaunt the fact that they have 5k hours and are losing to wraith with eruption in their swf, like this game is not that complex that it takes even 2k hours to be good at whatever role/killer you are trying to be good at. People overrate how hard this game is while not understanding how broken and weak each role can be.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3260056#Comment_3260056

So basically take your games where you were Blight so you were able to deal with a bully squad, and then pretend you were Wraith, Freddy, Pig, Ghost Face, etc. You basically wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING. I too face higher caliber survivors than most people on here, apparently. Prestige level 40+ survivors every third match. It's literally a walking/pallet breaking simulator.

    Bruh I said that m1 killer's still aren't good after 6.1.0.

  • @versacefeng said:

It's rlly not serious and nobody cares.

Pretty much everyone but killer's who want free win's and survivor's who don't care about playing a real game in the first place care's. All of you DC defenders are so nonsensical.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3259976#Comment_3259976

I don't consider myself inexperienced in the slightest, but I get bullying attempts all the time and get successfully bullied a couple of times per day.

I mean what killers are you playing? Even after 6.1.0 which pretty much only affected m1 killers outside of gen times they are still not great. Bully squads to me are just a free win as a blight player, but I don't play blight for the fact that he is S tier I play him because he is most fun and skillful killer. People always lump everything in "survivor" and "killer" when the minimum and maximum of each role is so low and high that most people's claims become irrelevant. 4 Green/purple med-kits can only be contested by blight and nurse, while even if it's solo queue they will probably still win vs all m1 killer's with builds like that. People under rate survivor as a whole and over rate killer as a whole when most killer's are bad and the only issue with survivor is mid to low mmr survivor's ruining lobby's that a killer got filled into and solo queue lacking information to be efficient. These forums make me question if player's actually know how to read balance of video game's, as I come from league I have an advantage in these areas that pretty much 95% of the people on these forums don't have. Though this game is asymmetrical so there are a incredible amount of extremely biased players as a result. Although last thing I will mention is that most player's in this game are either casual and don't care to be actually good or are trying to be good and just can't actually achieve it, probably the only multiplayer game I have played where A LARGE majority of the player base is not good. A little spiel for you I guess.

  • Yeah no, I will play this game even less if it's removed. The most fun I have ever had is a swf trying there hardest to get everyone out and me slugging all of them for the 4k during egc. I have never had a single person complain about it even once, most of the time it's a gg. Although those situations are rare, and half the time they can happen people just leave.

  • @GlitchyGamer said:

It's that simple. This game is exhausting to play anymore. Almost every single match is unbalanced and toxic. Killers are buffed into infinity and survivors nerfed into the ground. The match making allows toxic swfs to bully the killer and killers to bully solo que/duoing survivors. The gameplay is repetitive. You have to hide your prestige/avoid your mains due to lobby shopping and tunneling. Nothing has been done to stop the camping or hitting on hook and tunneling is still easily done. The toxicity is rampant on both sides. Behavior wanted to shake things up and "Change the meta". They sure did. Welcome to the most miserable era of dbd. Don't be surprised when you realize your player base has evaporated. You can't expect people to want to play on what is clearly the losing side and not get tired of it.

Solo queue needs buffs yes. But what you got to realize is that the overall kill rate was nearly 50% before the patch, and the reason why that wasn't balanced is that at least the bottom 30% of survivor's just lose on repeat due to the skill floor of each role. Their build was carrying them even though solo lacks the efficiency needed to actually play well. Survivor needs no buffs at all, solo queue and mmr need to be fixed that is all. The meta changes were good, they removed the most oppressive brain dead build survivor's have ever had and tbh that's been the case for 5 years which is absurd. 6.1.0. was great, it's just bhvr takes too long to move on to the next step (solo queue). After that we start addressing nurse and a few of blights add-ons along with maps and med-kits.

  • Hot take here: Ruin was terrible on any killer that didn't have high mobility. Even then, without undying it was worthless and with undying not that great. After CoH came out a large portion of survivor's just knew where to look every time, not to mention the one's that are just in the open. Hex's suck, pain res was way better and consistent than ruin was. Even if it got reverted I would still never run it, there's already enough rng in the game.

  • A couple months after I picked up blight I really started getting tired of going against the same 6 perks every game. It just felt like I was going against bots with perks which I still felt that way until 6.1.0. Anyways for a couple weeks I was running pain res, dms, bbq and corrupt with alch ring and green speed. And tbf alch ring green speed is just the most fun you can have on blight. My mentality was something like "if these players who I don't even consider to be that good at survivor are running the best stuff every game, then I'm going to match them and run right over them". By the end of the two weeks of playing a couple hours each day I was pretty much done with the game for a while. I came back a month or two later and equipped shadow borne for the first time. Now I run 3 perks with no gen regression and cycle through different add-on variations. I can understand running disgustingly good stuff for a long period of time if you are going against team's that will match you in a private game, but we all know that's not what happens most of the time. Same on the survivor side though, I regularly go against swfs running 4 med-kits and the best builds they can. If teams like these aren't going against blight or nurse how do they lose? Things like this stem from how all over the place the power levels of this game are. Even if you give the best killer player ever trapper, he simply can't compete with survivor's running the best stuff. Works the other way as well though.

  • I doubt this will help you, but after maining several different killer's 6 months in I picked up blight. And at this point the only reason I play this game is to play survivor with my friend and to improve my blight.

  • Solo queue, not survivor*. Survivor as a whole is fine, it's just solo queue which lacks efficiency due to a lack of information. Before it was made up for with a set of broken perks that could carry them, now they have to be good enough to act efficient without information and their broken build which is a rarity. Once solo queue get's the buff it deserves, survivor will be in an amazing spot.

🏆️ Who do you think the most balanced killer is? 🏆️

We all know there are a lot of variables that can change the way "balance" is defined. (maps, add-ons, items, perks at play etc.)

If we were to take out all the variables or RNG and gave both sides a fair playground: Who do you think the most balanced killer is? The one that is both fun to play as and play against? The one that the other killers could also be balanced around?

    All opinions are welcome! 🌹

Base kit blight is the best designed killer to grace this game. He make the boring part of the game(Shift+w and pre throw) way less affective, more than any other killer. And has the most skill expression for both sides. If 3 of his add-ons got nerfed or reworked, complaining about him would be classified as a sin. People will be inclined to say demo, but he really isn't the most balanced killer, he is weak base and does not hard counter anything. Demo is the jack of all trades, he does a little of everything except insta-down basekit.

How do they generate any pressure if there's no threat of a hit? I highly disagree with not being worried about baiting traps. You can't force the survivors to be in attack range, certainly not for 2 consecutive hits, any more than you can force them into 3-genning themselves or not creating hook dead zones.

If you run hag with current gen kick builds, which I have not done. That 3 gen will be the hardest to take out of any killer in the game. Hag is extremely easy until you start going against coordinated swfs who dedicate a player to mess with your web, which I am not going to lie with how little hag is played even very good coordinated swfs probably don't mess with her too often. Lastly there is threat of a hit, one step too far and it's a free hit. Forcing them into your web give's them no options unless you are outplayed. Hag is literally have someone dedicated to messing up your web or lose. I mained hag during prime CoH and DH, it's due able to win even if the survivor's know how to play vs hag.

    in Hag Comment by Sava18
  • Your build was extremely oppressive, you should learn to have a little fun. Smash hit is too op!!!!!!

  • Correct, the most skillful thing in this game is blight, he has the highest skill ceiling over both roles by far. But you are one of those super biased survivor's so your opinion is irrelevant. Brimp has stated he has not mained blight in quite awhile and as he said getting hit that quickly on lerys is a joke. Play better. Blight is the most skillful killer in the game for both sides and while 3 add-ons make him far less counterable, none of them are oppressive without speed(except c33). Also as config said I'm sure eruption would have been way more fun, right?

  • @NemmyMan3000 said:

Ok so as a person who likes games where you can be a mastermind and lay traps in certain areas to dominate, I have been looking at Hag and curious if she is worth the pick up since Trapper is considerably weak in most cases.

Ik Corrupt is the staple in a perk loadout for her, but what other 3 work?

What add ons will help a noob/average player for her?

Lastly, how do I use traps effectively without them being so easy to bait? There have been times where I thought I had a good trap but turns out thwy bait the edge of it so I dont get value. Also, how can I make it easier to swing after I teleport, for me sometimes Im able to swing and other times not.

Hag's traps are for pressure not just a hit. She is the first killer I mained and she is the only killer that looks for a 3-4 gen right after the game starts. Don't worry about them baiting it, just place traps in high traffic areas within your web and force them into them.

I honestly don’t think Clown is nearly as oppressive at loops as people say he is. I have a friend who once described Clown as “the ultimate test of your ability to loop an M1 killer” and I agree wholeheartedly with that, Clown is basically just a souped-up M1 killer and if you can run that around, you can run a Clown around.

tbh it's kinda a skill issue on my part, I have only been playing survivor often since 6.1.0 and my biggest weakness is a judge of distance especially as a blight main. Clown just exploits that well against me.

Yeah as you can guess most of my survivor matches end up being completely miserable. Doesn't help that for whatever reason despite Blight apparently being really popular I rarely go up against him, same for Oni and Billy.

Probably the best list that's going to be on this thread.

  • It's always baffling to me how people think league is more toxic than this game, I have 10x the hours in league than in dbd and dbd is sitting at 700. I think in general it's true that while killer's have the ability to be more toxic, survivor's have a higher ratio of toxic player's. I would also say that most of the player base only plays one side and lack very much empathy for the other side because of that.

  • @Laluzi said:

The real killers in solo queue have always been your teammates.

I don't know who I hate more, the hook farmers or the ones who sandbag you in chase so they can fail at a flashlight save.

Question, on both survivor side and killer side I have not seen an actual sandbagger in quite a while, does it really happen that often to you?

  • I mean yes that is how mmr works in every game. If you lose, you get put with worse teams and against worse players. The issue is how it calculates gaining and losing mmr for survivor, because we all know escapes are not very accurate.

The 1 out of 10 example was an exxageration, but a try to picture MMR is just as bad for the killer side too. Thats why i play both sides so i dont get in this sort of narrative the OP is practicing here.

I really can't tell if that's sarcasm, because no one faces comp squads that often. There are simply not that many in queue.

The issue is the DC timers reset too fast, while most games you cant DC for a few days to get the ban knocked down while DBD knocks it down daily.

But that's only DCs not even people killing themselves on hook, hell we can be in a good position as a team but if it's not going the way that person wanted they give up and can ruin it for everyone.

The fact is I shouldn't have to make lists to lobby dodge people that are known to DC... like at least put them all together?

One day I played 16games, everyone had a DC/suicide in and these killers werent even strong ones or nothing people just thrown childish strops and gave up.

So if permanent bans aren't something they want to do then they can place people that DC often together so people like me can just play no matter the killer, map or perks used

What about me as a killer player though, in this system do I get matched against these DC lobby's? I pretty much get off the game right after someone kills themselves or DCs. The game just turns into work at the point, no competitiveness behind it at all. It's still crazy to me how many of the people on these forums don't understand how bad DC's are for game health and that pretty much all other pvp games will suspend you for weeks after enough leading into perma bans.

Like guys League is literally the biggest game in the world and they make you agree to not leave game's after ONE DC. It takes like 3 DC's to get a suspension for weeks into a perma ban if more accumulate. Balance does not revolve around DC's in any way and you people who are defending it baffle me. Once you hit ready, you are saying "I want to play this game". "You can't make people play a game they don't want to" That's correct but they have already agreed to play and should not be welcomed if they decide they don't after they are in the match already.

While I think that Medkits can be toned down a bit (but only if they remove useless Items from the Bloodweb as well...So much useless stuff in the Survivor-Bloodweb), I dont consider anything else you mentioned a problem. Heck, I even have the impression that CoH helps the Killer more than the Survivors, because I see so many Survivors wasting their time booning Totems across the Map while they can sit on a Gen instead.

But Killers are different, they can actually prepare in the Lobby. Perks like Franklins or Sloppy Butcher (against Medkits) exist. And from what I read, identical Survivors are more used as an invite to tunneling than anything else.

And well, a month-long ban would not help anybody. Except if you want DBD to die, because nobody who gets a month ban for DCing will come back playing.

League and ow will suspend you for weeks if you rack up DCs in a short amount of time. And those games are far bigger than dbd. Just because it's dbd doesn't mean you shouldn't get real punishment for leaving a pvp game you queued up for, this mentality is incorrect.

    Very, very bad take.

Why do you think the devs came up with this basekit Unbreakable idea? It is because slugging for the 4k happens A LOT.

    Boring. Unhealthy. Unfun.

Whether or not basekit Unbreakable fixes the problem is hard to tell. Too early to say, but to blame survivors for being slugged so often is..yeah, not a good take.

While I don't agree with Camping and tunneling, slugging is perfectly fine. There is a risk reward to it for killer and survivor's have to make mistake's for it to be game winning. Like the only time it's unfair is with nurse and iri tag alch ring blight which I doubt you have ever gone against. Competitive game's put you in unfun situations sometimes and I would argue as survivor slugging is the least unfun in the category. Actually I would argue that slugging in the egc vs a swf is the most fun and skill expression in the game for both sides. In my 60 games of survivor in the last 2 months I have been bled out 0 times, proxy camped twice and Tunneled for real once. Killer's really don't slug often and the especially don't leave you to bleed out often, I have never seen it on survivor side ever.

I would like to know what everybody thinks about Dead Dawg Saloon.

For me, a survivor main, is a horrible designed map. A tiny shoebox where the RNG can screw you so much as to let the killer be able to watch 3/4 gens from the same position.

A map where every Terror radius build hits like a truck. Agi-star nurse, agi-star wesker, coulro anti healing doctor.

    God i hate this map

I hate it because all survivor's hide in bushes that even with low graphics you can't see anyone isn't bright. Boring map.

Solo queue is only hampered by a lack of efficiency, but if you really think even 75% of game's are pure solo queue you are incorrect. I am ever so slightly biased towards Blight(not killer) but you don't even think before revealing your biased to survivor.

  • I play to get better at Blight and that's all this game is for me now. Though tbf I have not been playing near as much since ow2 released. I have a very good ping and I come from games where I enjoy i framing monsters moves with a reaction time totally different. DH does not work as a reaction-perk but more of a planning type. Since the window is 0.5 s (quite generous, but not huge), it is important it can be used to react. And you cannot. You can only bait killers attacks, not react to them. If the killer is in motion, you are dead. This looks ugly as a design and I hope they consider extending DH invincibility to the very last ms before the hit. If I press DH, right before getting hit, I need to succeed to tank it.

Right now it's whoever the server see's action hit first, as stated by a dev recently. Before dh validation favored the survivor so much that it was nearly impossible to mess up. That validation is what made it the sss tier perk that it was for nearly a year.

  • If I never found blight I would have gotten bored half a year ago, even then I only play like 30 game's a month.

  • I mean in the sense that survivor's have the potential to be extremely strong yes. But most player's are bad and solo loses lots of efficiency, but that doesn't mean a group of 4 good solo player's can't look like a swf due to their skill. I know it's the forums, but people downplay survivor's and even try to make all killers sound op when in reality if you are losing to half of them with even skill on both side's grave mistakes were made or teammates trolled. Especially when every game I am going against 3 med-kits, people will bring troll builds and 0 items and then start complaining.

One thing I never see brought up is that pre dropping and w is the most efficient thing in the game vs most killers and is extremely unfun/boring for the killer. I would personally compare that to being camped, it's the same level of entertainment on both sides. If tunneling takes too long then all the gens get done and it's a 1k, if gens go too slow before pre-throwers throw all the pallets then it's a 3k/4k. I don't support either but I never see it talked about.

... and so the cycle continues, forever feeding off itself.

I mean in this example it's not really a cycle, it's the killer playing as fair as possible and getting toxicity in return.

  • @C3Tooth said:

You have to accept that your kill rate should stay around 50% at any MMR.

You can play fair and have 2K against equal skilled survivors.

Or you can go 4 slowdown, tunnel and totally dominate 4K at 4 Gens left to your equal skilled survivors.

Only to get 2K against far better skilled team.

Players like you is why Im really happy that MMR is about kill not hook.

2nd chances stack survivors escape when they should not, play against 4 slowdown tunnel killers that get undeserved kills. Let the sweaty play with each other.

Im happy sitting at mid low MMR doing 10 hooks 2K to play against another equal skill team next match. Most of these survivors use meme builds just like me.

In the end, both you and me get 2K average. Except I dont get stress.

I think that is too broad a statement, if you are playing wraith vs equally skilled team regardless of build you should lose.

Players running stretched views to see more would disagree. BHVR had to patch that out because of the advantage it granted.

Not the same thing, it was stretching the vertical fov so much, that people(mostly a survivor thing) could see over loops they should not be able to.

  • It's kinda funny to me when they start holding w vs blight like that 10% really allows them to do so.

  • All of the new maps yes, Macmillan was the most balanced realm and now it's a coinflip on whether there are too many pallets or none of them.

How many of these perks do you use in your own build, and which are they?

I run Jolt + Pain Resonance on my M1 killers, which doesn't work so well on some other killers I play. Just looking for ideas for things to use, basically.

Pain res is in 20% of all killer games for me in the last two months, other than that 0 gen slowdown. I am 11 months sober to kicking gens and even the new perk won't make me go back. At first it was just a meme, but it will never change now.

  • If the killer is strong with that in their kit as well as both sides having options and ability to outplay than yes. The problem with knight is there is no options or real counter play, so it doesn't work.

I'm guessing it's not, but, if you haven't played a particular killer for a long time, does your confidence level go down? Or if you've been playing survivor for a long time without touching killer?

I'm still trying to get out of the predicament I ended up in when MMR first came in, where I have a couple of killers that are ranked way too high and my matches are brutal no matter how often I lose.

I am not sure if this mmr degradation but there is a minimum level any other killer's score can be from your highest.

It's pretty sad that the vast majority of balanced maps are the first realms they made.

Haha, literally the most balanced realms are autohaven and Macmillan. Incredible to me.

  • They have not added a single balanced map since I started playing a year and a half ago. I mean not including the new map, the last map that wasn't in the survivor's favor was midwich and that map is super killer sided.

1: this is not a competitive PvP game. It's a casual 4v1. People just make it competitive because thats what gamers do

2: I know some really good console Nurses that would would put PC players to shame.

3: Nurse stats are the same as when the game was PC only. Despite the opinion of some trolls, Nurse is difficult to play. Go against a SWF that runs away the moment you face in their general direction. You'll spend most of the match catching up to a survivor whose already halfway across the map before you even see their scratchmarks. But no, lets use survivors that sit on gens until the Nurse appears right next to them or those that heal within her terror radius.

    1. Nah, it's more competitive than casual at this point. Most people are trying to win the game or running good perks to increase their chances of winning. This idea that it's still a party game is not true for the majority.
    2. Yes correct, you can still do really well with nurse and blight on console
    3. Nurse is way easier than other killer's that are way harder, you are simply learning the muscle memory and then it's up to you to read survivor's which every other killer has to do. The hardest mechanical character in the game is billy followed by blight closely, but blight also has to learn way more than every other killer in the game by a lot. So comparatively nurse is easy, in fact this entire game is easy in comparison to other games.
