Wow. You guys were not kidding @Marigoria @deKlaw_04 that <bad word> is almost unplayable. 😳
I knew it had to be somewhat bad because even playing SWF with my friends the games definitely have felt slower for sure. Especially with people still adapting to the
newsame scummy tactics meanwhile having much more limited perk resources.Never have I clicked the exit button so quick.
😂
Yes @Marigoria the most survivor biased person on these forums.

two survivors dead, two left. gates are not powered. killer keeps one survivor constantly slugged to catch the other one. seems to be the norm since killer wait times are high and killers have to maximize gained bloodpoints.
what is the counterplay in this situation? what should the slugged person do and what should the remaining surv do?
I mean it's boring gameplay for both sides, but its really who wants to "win" more. Do you as the survivor care enough to not just offer yourself and go next? Or do you want to waste as much time for the potential win as possible and hide?

Muscle memory is the bare minimum and will only do anything against bad players.
Please learn Nurse before you speak on her. Muscle memory is not Nurse's skill cap.
You failed to mention the "reading survivor's" thing I mentioned, Which is quite literally her skill cap. There is nothing else of significance. She isn't as hard as blight with all of his mechanics, she isn't as fair as blight and she doesn't have to read survivors as well as blight. She is quite literally on par with blight at the highest level in terms of power(on some maps), but her skill ceiling is nothing compared to his. The reason nurse is left as is, is to compete with high level swfs on an even playing field but now blight can take that place and nurse can get reworked. While some people do like going against nurse the vast majority don't. Playing against a blight without certain counterplay reducing add-ons allows for the most skill to be displayed on both sides. Nurse is a relic of the past, and the reason for her existence has ceased to be. But that's just my honest 2 cents.

"b) The all-or-nothing nature in terms of outcomes. If I were to exclude the occasions where a killer made it a point to let the last survivor escape the 4K rate would be way over 50%. I alone have been given hatch or gate seven times"
I never see this as the killer being nice. Either they are trying to manipulate their MMR, or they are trying to manipulate the devs through stats by not killing everyone they could. Either way, they are breaking the rules. Working with the killer is not allowed, and I FORCE them to take that extra kill when they choose me for this pity escape.
Also, I don't see any information on farming. I haven't played in a week or so, but like you I tabulated a bunch of data for the 50ish games I played in the first three days after the patch, and about a third of the killers were either new, not trying, or just flat out farming. I posted my data here on the forums for a while, but I tire of trying to do the devs job for them. Especially having to deal with the malicious killer mains that want to defend the changes regardless of whether it leads to the death of the game or not. The devs should have separated this update into parts so they could test each major thing individually, but they have never been about precision and don't seem to care.
How many of those escapes were farmers? You know, killers that refuse to even hit you unless you practically beg them for hooks?
At any rate thanks for the information. It's interesting to see and is almost exactly the same as mine was so it's validating to know that nothing has changed at all since the mid chapter patch. There were so many killer mains on this forum shouting 'give it time' etc. If you know how the game works you didn't need more time than it took to read the patch notes to know they were breaking things and would lose players over it.
Bro most of the time I give hatch because I really don't care about the 3 min of back and fourth between the gates. I won already, It's just boring to do that. Literally half the time I alt tab after the third kill.

Right, because Nurse was definitely underpowered before the patch, right? Stop saying Nurse isn't hard. Because at the end of the day, Nurse has had the lowest killrates for years as well as one of the highest pickrates. If the majority of players didn't suck with her, her killrate would've been much higher. In other words, Nurse will have a relatively similar killrate.
Oh, and it also proves my point that Nurse is hard:)
What do you mean by hard? Because while she is the hardest killer to pick up, it's really just how fast can you learn the muscle memory. The killer has no real depth, and her skill ceiling really isn't that high. Sure you may have to learn to read survivor's but pretty much everyone else does that too.
The reason the kill rate on nurse is so low is not because she is so incredibly hard, It's because everyone hears how broken she is and then go and play 2 games of her. They then get absolutely destroyed because they have no muscle memory and then give up. I wouldn't call her easy but definitely not hard.

I was thinking about this today. Nurse is the only killer where you don't have to learn any game mechanics. No learning how to chase, no learning how to apply pressure, no learning how to hit and run or mindgame, no learning how to run tiles properly or defend gens - all you have to learn is how to point and click on the survivors, and in two games you're decimating every team with nothing they can do to you. Even killers like freddy and legion at least have to learn some things. After that second game, you are unstoppable, and you don't even have to think while you play, unlike other killers. And that's excluding her add-ons that make her even easier!
There's absolutely no reason that nurse should be as strong as she is given how autopilot she can be to play, compared to someone who actually takes a modicum of skill, like hillbilly. That's where the first of the many changes she needs should start - making her difficulty actually reflect her strength, imo.
She is the hardest to learn, no where near the hardest to master though. Her power is quite literally muscle memory the killer. The only other real mastery to her is reading survivors.

If you are helping someone off a hook and they are being tunneled body block and take a ######### HIT! Don't just run away or run around or do absolutely nothing to help your team mate!
I love running back to the hook within 5 seconds of the unhook as blight, looking for the the unhooker and they are hiding. I quite literally wish there was a emote for killers that means "tell me where the unhooker is or you are getting tunneled out". I will always go out of my way not to tunnel except for two things. I can't find the unhooker after like 5-10 seconds of looking or a survivor is forcing their anti-tunnel perk on me(I will throw to make sure you die). I'm playing blight so if someone balanced landings away I can catch them but really what do you think myers is gonna do, go for that guy or the guy fresh off hook?

I have been playing alot of killer and only running upto 2 slowdowns but now between the prove thyself and maxed out tool boxes gens are going just as fast as they were pre patch. Looks like they cycle continues.
Really can't blame people playing killers below A tier for running slowdown, Survivors of your skill level will get a 3 man out if you don't run at least a couple gen perks. I either run just PR or none depending on how good the survivors I've been getting are. But tbh I think running less slow down on blight makes me play better.
Some of the people in this thread don't realize that taking prove and a toolbox every game impacts the game way more than CoB, overcharge. Just as a lot of survivors run the best stuff to win, killers take slow down to win. In fact most perks are pretty bad on non-mobility killers other than slow down. If you guys lose to a wraith or a nemesis running full slow down, it's absolutely a skill issue.

I dunno, I've found the opposite to be true. It seems weaker against M1 killers and antiloop powers that can afford to wait to bait it out and stronger against powers that are predictable and cause the killer to go through a cooldown if tanked (like Huntress & Blight).
I would bait out a DH with an extra bump every time pre patch as blight. Now even though I should if I know they got DH I really couldn't care less for some reason

With killers, ruin is pretty much non-existant now, which is a big plus in my book. To often the killers I faced had got tier ruin totem nowhere to be found, when I usually had it cleansed right at the start of the match. Tinkerer as well, I had one bubba so far with it, but thats about it. Pop also pretty rare, so when a killer just comes by a gen to check, maybe kicks it to apply Overcharge + Call of Brine, and you can hide from them, not much is lost. Much more Eruption, much more Gift of Pain now. So while gen defence perks are still pretty dormant, the individual perks changed alot. So if you define "the meta" as a set of specific perks, then the meta sure changed. If by "meta" you mean classes of perks, then gen defense builds are still the meta yeah. But there still more chase and / or info perk builds used than before, imo.
For survivors, DS is rare, DH is rare (the ones still using it know to use it well), less BT or UB. More SB and Lithe then before, for obvious reasons. But all in all very diverse, at least in my lobbies. I would say for the survivors, there's currently no real meta. Things still have to settle down for a new survivor meta to emerge.
Prove, SB and OTR are the meta. No contest. Good swf will only run 2 Proves and a 4th perk to fill a specific role.

My build it's still the same, nothing got nerfed. But of course you just decide to ignore all the basekit buffs killer got. Typical.
My guy I see you on literally every post. The only killers who benefited significantly from this patch are m1 killers. Pretty much the only thing impacting blight and nurse is the 50 seconds extra on gens, and prove has already become meta to more than make up for that. Killer perks also got dumpstered, pretty much all regression besides pain res got nerfed and the only reliable slow down is gift of pain. Yes, blight needs a couple add-ons nerfed and nurse needs something. But really what is so impactful this patch that makes survivor unplayable? Please don't say teammates as that has nothing to do with balance.

Yeah, Blight has ruined other killers for me. His add-ons also offer so much variety. Do I run Adrenaline Vial for the crazy flicks, or compound 21 for the mind games, or maybe double speed to go wicked fast, or maybe use the add-on where the last dash is an insta-down. So many fun choices.
I know that Blight probably will get a nerf, but I really hope they nerf his base move speed to 110 percent rather than touch his add-ons. (Well except for Alchemist Ring and compound 33, they should honestly get a nerf or rework)
Yeah c33 for sure. Used to agree with lilith that alch ring was fine but after the -10% distance survivors got, there's many times they have nothing to work with. But also there are quite a lot of maps where you always get somewhere safe. How often do you use alch ring against a survivor that knows you have alch ring and they just w to next tile anyway, just out of curiosity? I'd probably put it at 85% for me.
I also doubt blight will get a base kit nerf. As pretty much everyone would rather have blight be the top dog that can contest high level swfs over nurse. Someone's gotta fill that role and I'd much rather it be the highest skill cap thing in the game over muscle memory the killer.

they're just another way survivors got nerfed because destroying every anti tunnel perk, increasing gen times and buffing all aspects of killer weren't enough, the tiles are awful and most of the time it's just dead space
- - They nerfed ds to 3 seconds, every other anti tunnel perk is the same except bt got buffed and otr is S tier
- - Almost all the tiles imported are actually real good for survivors and you should learn how to loop them!!!!!!! Especially the half LT half Long wall tiles they are broken for survivor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- -The fact that you keep generalizing shows your lack of anything but first thought emotional reactions.
- -I've seen you on multiple threads voicing completely incorrect things because you are so bias to your role.
- -You don't have to play the other role to have at least some understanding of it.
- -Nothing is wrong with the power level of survivor right now. Other than sbmm being absolute garbage right now, good survivors do great. Most of the base killer buffs affected m1 killers who survivors should have no problem dealing with. Other than alch ring blight getting a buff on maps where Tiles are really far apart. I really can't stress enough how all of the DH bots are either gone from my game and I get good survivors who can and will give me a run for my money or the queue time is too long at 2am and they can't do anything.
- -I as a killer main can sympathize with most gripes survivors have with the game. Exceptions being anything related to A DH buff and them thinking survivor is weak this patch just because MMR is trash. You should put in effort to understand the other side as well!!!!!!!

When you log in to DBD and you feel like playing your most favorite role and most favorite person... Who do you choose? And Why?
Do you main Killers or Survivor?
Also What Platform do you usually play on?
I ask out of curiosity...
This game is blight to me. Every single game of blight you have to play a lot of tiles differently and on the fly due to the rng of the maps. Getting better at certain things is what makes me play video games and blight has no end in that regard. I play pc and when my survivor friends want me to play, I'm that bill who can't accurately gauge distance from my lack of survivor game time.

I’ve had a LOT of good survivor solo q games this week.
Except for today at 1am, the mmr after week 1 of this patch has been amazing for me as a killer. If my queue time is short enough I'll get really good swfs, which is all I have ever wanted on blight. High mmr survivors aren't just bots with E we won let's go.
Other than 1 salty comp team no one has been toxic in post game either.
-
There is a reason Blights add-ons are still the same and nurse hasn't been reworked. Its because at the high level there needs to be something to deal with good swfs. Just how m1 killers will go against really good swfs and get dominated, solos will go against good blight's and nurse's and get dominated. Not to say it's not possible for either side to win while at these disadvantages.

Matchmaking is for survivors. Killers get put into whatever game needs one.
Just assume you'll never actually be put against people of your skill level. It's always survivors who are way too good or way too bad. There is no middle ground, and the match-making is definitely not built to put you up against them.
I'm a high mmr blight main going against high mmr swfs/solo's every game. With some exceptions, they are the best survivors I have ever gone against and I couldn't ask for anything else. I think High mmr is doing great right now while low and maybe mid mmr suffers.

If you're not getting 4k's after the patch then it's a skill issue as the kills are being handed on a silver plate.
A 10% buff to killers and a lack of dh does not mean the game is unplayable for survivors. Good survivors will succeed if they are not getting trolled. Many people are saying it, including streamers who have way more experience than either of us. A large majority of the survivors in this game are not good to be blunt, same with killers as well. But I quit this game due to going against bots with perks more than actual players.

Let me guess. It's the new DH or DS and needs nerfed?
I sometimes run the perk in solo queue to attempt to offset the gen slow down perks killers are running & score some quick BP. However, it's almost useless later in the game & is also useless or time consuming trying to find a gen with another survivor on to make use of it. The main benefit is spawning near a gen with another survivor & hoping we can pop one gen before everything goes south (i.e. the game ends at 3 gens).
@Droneinthrwind said:
A yes, as I thought. Soon killer mains will start to complain about "this is not happening". It's 30% bigger skill checks and gens get done faster by 2sec. Please nerf.
Really It's just new meta. Chases are faster so survivors need to do gens faster. Wait 5 years for bhvr to change this meta. Where is nothing else worth running. Heal builds are killed with botony and self care nerfs. Chase builds are killed. You can slap on lithe but it's no dead heart. What else are survivors supposed to run? Meme builds? They get boring fast too.
Guys, the op made this post because they are wondering what the best counter to a meta perk is. They did not give a single hint of bashing PTS. I know you are lost without DH but your agitation is not warranted here.

No, you should be doing better that is not how this works. Claiming that things have not changed at all is absurd. More then likely despite what you are saying you probably won half the time and now you are winning a majority of the time so you are like "Wow I'm so good lol games balanced now finally... I can rightfully 4k every game."
Bro after reading your thread of comments you are taking out your frustrations on the other guy with no logical backing. All he is doing is stating his opinion and experience. You are repeatedly making assumptions that you would have no idea about. Chill get off the forums.

That bad state of the game is gonna change a 100%, and soon.
STBFL obviously needs a rework, Thana needs its numbers toned down because on certain killers is actually stupidly strong and no gens getting done. Jolt idk why it doesn't have some short of cooldown. Killers stacking whatever slowdowns they want without downside.
DS needs the time back to 5 secs and not to deactivate at the end game. No one complaint about the pre nerf DS but they totally murdered the perk anyways.
The 5 sec built in BT didn't solved anything and made the things a lot worse. Camping and tunneling increased because killers know that the game doesn't have anti tunneling protection. My idea about the built in BT is to make it terror radious based. If the killer is facecamping give it more seconds, if they're outside, less. And the list goes on.
DH apparently the 1 sec window was "too strong". The current 0,5 is a joke, so give it a buff to 0,75. The perk is trash anyways.
The amount of exceptionally bad takes in 1 post is impressive. The only thing I agree with is ds stun going back to 5 and camping and tunneling being a problem in lower mmr. DH was broken beyond belief for too long. Dh being mid now has nothing to do with the state of the game or solo queue, unless that's what you relied on.
