Yeah but, I want to play the game.

    That's the problem.

I am sorry you're going through a hard patch but I am here if you ever need to talk.

I got you covered, did it by memory so not 100% and only played it like three times on PTB and twice on live before being disabled.

    First Floor

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R5GCNCFDZG0Z/rpd-1f.png

    Second floor

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XJ2L1QZK2566/rpd-2f.png

Those are the possible generator spawns that I know off. Yellow are passageways where you can walk through, Turqoise is drop downs from second floor to first floor. The base map is shamelessly borrowed from RE2 Remake.

Edit: I missed a passageway that goes into the lower part of the Darkroom from the left.

I thank you for it but, would you have a problem with placing an arrow that goes to the upper floor, I mean from the lower floor you start the line of the arrow and it ends on the direction the stairs are going up, not the ones that are in the floor and goes and lift the terrain a bit but doesn't go towards the other floor.

I hope you don't mind the comment, I know it's a hard work to do so... I am a master builder so I know how hard is to do a blueprint... I was just saying as an easier way for people to understand the map... I haven't played a lot on the map either so the only stairs I know they go upstairs are the main hall ones and the fire escape ones... if they're the only ones feel free to let me know.

I can also add that detail, if you want. I might need to play RE to get a better vision of the map...

  • I don't see it as a nerf... if a survivor or other survivor found the item before the timer went out, then the killer would have to hit said survivor and wait for the timer to go on again, now if the item depletes its charges is a good thing because let's suppose they bring a flashlight, at least in that way the flashlight will lose charges until they pick it up again.

And yes, survivors who used keys always drop them in certain spot... that way Franklin did nothing about it so no... Franklin didn't counter keys because first survivors are not stupid and second they can be found in chest so it wasn't like "Oh yeah! Key destroyed, now they can't escape" they could always find a key somewhere else.

I am glad you got it!

I have never gotten a DC penalty when the killer DCd nor has anyone else I've played with.

And I never had the hill bug when it was around. So?

  • Well... I have had killers DC when I am close to exit and baam. DC penalty because.... because I suppose I got out from the match earlier?

And no, the point is not "but dude it's a 5/10/25 min ban", if it's not justified then it's not justified... and also, there are ways to know if you have restarted your computer (or had to shut down due to lack of power), or if you used the "leave game" button.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I thought the discharge was the entire duration of the corrupt purge, but it seems it is a single puke from the corrupt purge instead, if so then I misunderstanded it. I will try camping with insidious and corrupt purge and wait for the save so I can hit them together

It will be way easier to farm, since camping doesn't mean they will go for the save, if they're smart but survivors can't really refuse to do gens so farming seems the easiest choice.

You could go on but it would be kind of silly. Just because nobody asked for it doesn't mean they didn't have a reason for doing it. Remember, they see things we do not. As someone who plays Myers, I completely understand why they nerfed Coup De Grace. I was abusing it myself. It suffices to say that they see things we don't, and often have reasons for doing things we do not understand.

I'm not exactly a cheerleader. I don't pretend they don't make mistakes, or at least things that "I" see as mistakes. I think Wraith overshot the mark and is far too tough now. I accept that the current Wraith is here to stay for a bit until their own, internal measurements tell them otherwise. There are lots of things I think they could (and should) do differently. That doesn't mean I'm right. I'm making educated guesses and basing things on the metrics I take personally. Obviously my number are incomplete. Do I think I have a good handle on things? Yeah, of course I do. That is ego. I might be right, but let's be honest, I don't have the full picture and no matter how self-aware I try to be, there is always bias. You have it, I have it, everyone has it.

The assumption that we have to ask for something to make it a valid change is silly. There are lots of things we don't ask for but are thrilled to get. Just as there are things we do ask for and soon regret. :)

Well... they stated many times OoO was fine and it wasn't until like, large part of the community asked for it that they said it was going to be changed... I get the idea behind coup d' grace but come on, you can only use it 5 times at most and it's not like you can decide when will you use your tokens... BTW if you have reached tier III with a large amount of tokens and the 5 gens aren't done by that time means the survivors let you feed evil whitin tiers... at that point is their fault, not yours.

  • @Altarf said:

Although I would love this, there is one issue I can find with this change.

Knock Out. Do you really want Victor to have Knock Out?

Also, Exposed perks should only count for basic attacks, obviously. Aside from that I am fine with this change. BHVR are eventually going to nerf STBFL by removing the special attacks not losing stacks part, so that part of this change is manageable.

Well... Blight with NOED wouldn't be OP if his special attack were basic... it's not that easy to land a shot and on the first rush you can't hit survivors.

  • @SirCracken said:

She only becomes uncounterable if the person playing her has had thousands of hours of practise and plays perfectly. At that point I'd say they deserve to win since you'll only ever encounter players like that in the single digits.

With this in mind, do you think that making a killer like Blight also have his power count as Basic Attacks is fair?

Yes. Hitting someone while in a rush is a hard thing to do because is so easily countered by survivors.

  • It's not good, I would have liked that a long shot, like a 20 meters range shot would be an instant down, in which case good Huntress would be rewarded and survivors wouldn't feel they have been cheated if it's a short range shot.

Yeah, I boggled at this one when I saw it. Looks exactly like one of those impossible parody challenges.

I'm irritated because this is a Plague challenge... but the perks that enable it in any sort of controlled fashion, Nemesis and Furtive Chase, aren't her perks and I don't have Ghostface or Oni. They're not even in this week's Shrine of Secrets. So I just straight up cannot do this until I buy a new killer.

Also pretty displeased to see 'hide within 10m of the killer' making its less than glorious return, though at least it isn't a do-in-one-trial this time.

Not trying to say the mission is good or anything but I think you can still get it done... you just need to tunnel a survivo into oblivion, it it has DS... then you will get the stun but also a new obsession.

I have probably played over a hundred games since the Gnomes started spawning by the gates. I hear the chime, and the laugh, and I have never actually found the thing. Do they spawn in certain locations? I'm not even that bothered except the fact that a Noam Chomsky reference in DBD is just kind of an unexpected crossover.

Another user gave me an advice. Play as the Wraith since you only need to unlock it as a killer/survivor to get the charm and the Wraith now is the fastest killer without any hindrance and since as a killer you don't need to worry except for the time left, it's better to find it as a killer.

  • Fun when everyone says "Sprint Burst is way better than Dead Hard", if that were true, SB would be in the meta and it's not near to being meta.

  • Well. DH needs to have the invulnerability addressed, I mean DH is meant to be used to avoid a hit by boosting the survivor forward, now if a survivor literally runs through you then it deserves to get down... the same goes with trapper traps... it's not fair that a survivor can dead hard toward your traps... I mean, traps are literally the only resource a Trapper has and they end being negated by a perk.

It’s an ability much like Blight that makes him sprint that fast (and it also consume T-virus so it’s not as spammable as Blight, so basically high-risk-high-reward) oh and the speed is intended to match Billy’s chainsaw sprint (which is 230%) but didn’t realized it when I was writing it xD my bad!

Oh, I thought he was going to be like that during all match when he hitted tier III. LOL, I should have guessed I was wrong

  • I do agree that his power need some tweaks but 250% seriously? And I am a guy who thinks that kiler speed should be a bit higher... but 250% is way too much.

  • I just played a match and the 2s difference is barely noticeable... I am not saying the change was good or deserved but so far they don't feel weird.

If you queue up for a game, play the game out. Stop looking for excuses to leave the match you've already agreed to play.

"You've already agreed to play". Where is the contract where I agreed?

I don't disconnect nor suicide but your point is invalid. Call it excuses if you must but the point remains, everyone is free to do whatever they want, they didn't sign anywhere that says "I swear to play every match, never disconnecting, never quitting, I'll be a fair player"... or if you find that oath, please show it to me.

  • @Power_Guy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2189714#Comment_2189714

No, it's not fully 'up to them'. You're disregarding that you leaving ruins the game for 4 other people; the Killer and 3 other Survivors.

If you (the hypothetical person in this scenario, not you personally), can't commit to a full match, win or lose; don't play.

Don't give me BS excuses about how it's okay for you to bail because you know the match won't be 'fun'.

When you log in, you're entering into a social contract to not be a jerk, and to play the match to the end. Not to play only if you are winning because that's more fun than losing.

And I've been camped. Face-camped, even. I laugh and wait out my time on the hook, then play a new match. Because I don't think my 'fun' matters more than everyone else's, and me dying as fast as possible screw over the team.

Hook quitting (or DCing) is selfish, and the people who do it are saying 'Only I matter to me. I am the most important thing in my life. Everyone else is measured against my needs. I will screw you all over if it makes me feel better.'

The "selfish" point is invalid, because you're expecting them to play a full match in order to iwn, that's selfish as well... even if that person is having a bad day and don't want to play because he's having a bad match, you're telling them "screw you, I want to have fun so you have to play for my sake"

  • @Power_Guy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2189636#Comment_2189636

I'd rather have a full game instead of one where it's ruined for the other team because someone rage-quit.

That depends on your definition of "full game", some survivors are really potatoes and you end with low BP and a 5 min match either...

Being that said, you can't force people to stay in a game they don't want to be. Many online games don't hit the penalty even if those games has them... there are a lot of reasons why a survivor can decide to drop the game and instead of forcing the players, the devs should check why someone decides to DC/Kill themselves and see how they can fix them

As an example, sometimes I have ran into a survivor 10 seconds from the start of the game, needless to say camping is a thing, you can tell me "it s a strategy" but between being on the hook two straight mins or quitting and find a new match. Which one will you choose? And you're not paying people to stay in-game so their time and how they use it is up to them.

  • @Power_Guy said:

    No.

If you can't accept that a match may go against you in a PvP game & want to ragequit; maybe PvP games are not for you.

I'm glad giving up on the hook is slower to do now. I am heartily sick of people who giving up on hook because they did not like the map, my Killer, my perks, that they were found first, that they were downed first, that they realized I have a perk with tokens (and thus bail to deny me said tokens), etc.

Giving up on the hook is just another form of rage-quitting. It's no different from force-closing the game; it just dodges a DC penalty.

Well, it gives you more BP also... needless to say, a match with three survs instead of four are easier to deal with...

  • @Nameless said:

Honestly, they should make some sort of in game shop where you could spend the BP on the items, add ons and perks you want after you prestige or so. It's 2 birds with one stone: prestiging your character now has a purpose and being able to select what you want saves a lot of BP, rather than having to go through millions of bloodwebs before you find the perk you want. They could make the prices of the shop a bit higher so the bloodweb still serves its purpose of getting cheaper stuff.

Could even go further than that and make it so the prices in the shop get reduced with each prestige. Prestiging wouldn't be such a pain anymore because you'll be able to get your perks, add ons and items at a reduced cost and much faster. And now you're incentivized to keep prestiging.

Idk, in my eyes it's just a missed opportunity because they could make like a personality selling you all this stuff at the market in a similar way they did with the Archives and the Observer for the extra lore as well.

Good idea but personally I'd rework how prestige works and rarity getting a discount by each prestige level, as an example...

Prestge I get common add-ons 40% less than their original price, 25% less in uncommon add-ons.

Prestige II get common add-ons 60% less than their original price, 40% less in uncommon add-ons, 20% less in rare add-ons.

Prestige III get common add-ons 80% less than their original price, 60% less in uncommon add-ons, 40% less in rare add-ons, 30% less in very rares and 15% less in ultra rares

This will reduce the grind by a giant amount and make prestige more rewarding

Also: Change the amount of BP per match at 50 K BP, give more BP per interaction. I think I should create a thread with all the ideas I am having.

  • I got it while playing Wraith as @Pilot recommended me.

  • @Pilot said:

    1. Once EGC starts, you'll hear a gnome laugh. meaning that it spawned
    2. There are an infinite number of gnomes. However, there is only one on the map. If someone finds it and breaks it, another will spawn instantly after on the map. You will know someone found the gnome by the faint blue particles around them.
    3. This is best done with killer. I recommend Wraith and slap 2 addons for speed on him and just go zoom around the map. Easy gnome.
    4. gnomes spawn Anywhere. They are not limited to totem spots, at all. It takes 2-3 seconds to break the gnome
    5. Once you get it ONCE as killer / survivors, you'll unlock it for both sides & all characters. Survivors need to survive and escape for the charm. Killer just needs to find it, hence why I recommend killer. Close hatch and slug the last guy.

    HOWEVER.

People have reported that the event was not intended for today and that gnomes are no longer spawning? I have been playing today and still heard the laugh. I could be wrong, if someone can confirm this.

I have heard the laugh but I have been unable to see anyone, also thanks for your suggestion.

  • Nurse doesn't need a nerf... She's already the hardest killer to master and he's already very punished per mistake. If anything she shouldn't be so punished if she fails... also, there is a plethora of bugs surrounding her which make her indeed harder than intended.

  • @DerpyPlayz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2173529#Comment_2173529

I agree with everything except that last part, I don't like the breakable walls mostly in the game already as it forces you to take time out of chase to break them, or forces you to go across the map to break them and if you don't break them it typically makes the loops significantly harder until you do.

Actually I was thinking in breakable walls in already placed walls. Like the double L walls. A breakable wall at the side of the window can save you a lot of time.

  • Well, there's a list:

Stop rewarding survivors per mistake, that made them so reliant to those perks that they are not learning to play properly or better to say, they don't know what to do if you take that from them

Stronger hex perks... needless to say totems are a high risk/high reward perks but at the moment, most of the hexes are high risk/low reward, Hex: Crowd Control as an example, the perks is nice but it is a hex so it needs something more to be worth taking...

Buffing old perks... sometimes the perk is fine and devs just need to play with the numbers a little... I know they're scared to make them OP, but I think it's easier to give a big buff to certain perk and then nerf it than giving mini-buffs over the years... they're adding more work to themselves in that way and I am sure they already have a lot of work to do.

Adding more breakable walls... they give more BP to killers and they create new ways to escape routes for survivors so it's a win-win situation.

"People take things too seriously sometimes, it means they need to learn to chill down. The harassment in real life won't end because X character is gay. Right?"

Actually, you're wrong. Representation has two purposes, to provide comfort and to provide cultural change. If representation is widespread enough across a lot of media it can genuinely change people's views on things. Steven Universe, despite its many flaws, is one of the shows that aim to make the current children a lot more tolerant.

It also provides comfort in the form of humanising people. I went a load of my life being nulled at school + abused at home cause I was gay. I was made to feel like I wasn't even human, like I was intrinsically flawed and didn't deserve to live. Take a guess where that went.

Representation could've and probably would've helped stop this... Downward spiral.

"There are far more important troubles or things to be concerned... if yo're so triggered because Nurse had a husband instead of a wife then perhaps you should start thinking if you're looking at the things that matters. If you care so much it means yo have a lot of free time."

Yeah, I'm not triggered by it. I just want equal treatment, as do a lot of people. As it too much to aks to be treated the same as anyone else? Apparently so.

And yeah I have a load of unresolved issues. All of which can be traced back to me being bullied. All of which could've been stopped through proper representation and tolerance.

    It's important.

I am sorry you had been bullied, I have been there also but not because I am gay but because I have Joubert's syndrome and every people thought I was mentally ######### (even if I were, that doesn't make that kind of treat right) also my classmates tried to kill me almost 6 years ago (I am starting to be more open about it even thought it's a bit hard), and I get completely the "I want to be treated like a normal human being" but there's a difference between imposing and being represented, people already asked this tons of times and making continuous threads make it sounds like "Do it!", like ordering and yes, being accepted is important but in this case in particular... let's suppose Felix was gay instead of having a girlfriend. Would that have changed everything? I don't think so (besides I know plenty of bi people who are married to a woman but they like men also), so if it's so small... Why caring a lot about it? If you want to think as David or Meg as gay, go ahead, no one is stopping you, Many people psychologically wants a representation because they feel left behind but that's on their minds and it's a real problem that needs real help, generally it means a low self-steem and with every right, I mean you have been bullied all your life, like if you could have a normal self-steem after that.

In my case, after everything I went then yes, my self-steem was shaken in that way, but it took me a time telling myself "you're fine and no matter what anyone else thinks"... of course, I still feel bad because I am unable to get a job due to my Tourette's and people freaking out but I won't think that it's something wrong with me anymore but thinking they judge a lot.

  • People take things too seriously sometimes, it means they need to learn to chill down. The harassment in real life won't end because X character is gay. Right?

There are far more important troubles or things to be concerned... if yo're so triggered because Nurse had a husband instead of a wife then perhaps you should start thinking if you're looking at the things that matters. If you care so much it means yo have a lot of free time.

  • Well... I am gay but Why? As far as I am concerned all characters could be straight and I wouldn't care because the core of the game is other... stop with the nonesense that LGBTQ needs to be added everywhere.

  • I think it would add more value to Victor, since playing with Victor and Charlotte gives you less map pressure.

  • I think censorship is pretty... dictatorial? I mean, it goes against your own rights as a human being, besides if someone says anything bad, I can plain report them for not using their rights correctly. Right now, even if they don't say anything bad, even if they're trying to give me a few tips, I only find censorship.

Good enough plays can hold it at 99% to make insane distance. If your problem is that DH is easier to use i don't think that's inherently a problem with a perk.

The difference is that SB is only used for distance, and there's a bit of unreliability to when do you want to use it, same as Lithe. Dead Hard on the other hand is not unreliable since you literally decide when you want to use it, IF you want to use it (SB is always used when you start running without exhaustion so you can calculate it but there are times where you're unable to decide when to use it).

  • Well... there are no downsides of DH, and you can use it either for distance or to avoid a hit, being the second the purpose of the perk, but the perk says it gives you distance. Now, the perk shouldn't make you invincible, if the killer manages to hit you even when you're using it, you're not entitled to be protected.

So basically it's bothersome because you don't really have a limit on uses, I mean if you're injured and you don't have exhaustion, you're guaranted to have it. As an example coup d'grace allows you to have an extra lunge BUT. Just after generators are powered and you can just use it five timesat most ... Now, you can tell me... "if you down a DH users and hook them, the limit is three times" but there are a few differences... you decide when you want to use DH, you can't do the same with Coup d' Grace... both perks rewards you for failing in your objective but Coup d' grace has a maximun whereas DH no.

Just going to make this short and sweet. Trickster is fine now. He's decent enough to come at on top. You boost his speed any more and half the forum will be on fire in a day with pitchforks. Just because you can't ALWAYS win with a killer doesn't mean they aren't good. Reminds me of people on here who think Spirit is fine and doesn't need any tells. Makes me worried about balancing due to feedback and how people just ignore everything because they want something a certain way. I will never agree with most but I will always share my reasoning for why I dislike or like certain things.

Trickster is not fine, even if you're good with the knifes (which I am very good) you still struggle if you're being looped in a place where you can't use your knifes (around a rock as an example). You need to shot 8 times with knifes, in which point would have been better to M1... I get it, there are times to use his power and times where is not wise, but actually Trickster power has less accuracy the farest the survivor is, which means you can't really get many shots if they're too far so you need to use his power relatively close which means you can wait and just M1.

The only thing I think it's good, is when you're on a big loop, big enough to let you lift the knives and hit him a couple of tinmes each side, like the shack and even sometimes it doesn't work well.

As someone who really likes to play Freddy, I honestly think these changes are okay. My inner Freddy main says there was no need to remove his regression addons (I think the maximum regression was what? 8-11%?) but on a survivor perspective it was really boring. No one likes to sit 100+ seconds on a gen only for Freddy to teleport and popping your gen. 5 snares instead of 8 is completely okay, you don't really prepare your snares before so most of the time you only need 2-4 snares. His looping power will mostly be untouched, 100% movementspeed sounds awful but this is really not that bad. BHVR nerfed Freddy as I expected but I understand that it will take a couple matches to get used to it. His "new" addons are pretty much crap and I don't think there was a reason to nerf his pallets, because most of the time no one really played those addons. I think Freddy is still one of the top tier killers.

The point is... a Freddy with only slowdown is a thing, and a Freddy with slowdown add-ons, Thanatophobia, Dying Light and Sloppy Butcher is a different thing.

Yes, "problematic this problematic that". Imagine unironically saying the killer is being "punished" because of a trash 40 seconds cooldown perk that makes them dash forward and they can still get hit at the beginning of the animation and after it ends since killer's lunge attack has a long range.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100233#Comment_2100233

You can drop the chase if that Dead Hard made it impossible for you to kill that survivor. How did you even get into a situation in which a dead hard makes you waste lot of time? People use it to get to window faster or be able to drop a pallet.

Dead hard is just trash. It's exhausted on the ground. It can be completly ruined by a bit of lag or weird hitboxes. And you're only able to use it while wounded which makes it completly useless against killers like Leatherface, Myers, Ghostface, etc. The design of the perk is fine, nobody is being punished because of a buggy dash foward.

"Dead Hard is just trash"... Have you heard of meta perks? If Dead Hard is trash then why it would be in the meta?

    Excuse me, what ?

MoM did what was supposed to do also but that doesn't mean the perk was in a good spot.

If the killer is doing good then Adrenaline shouldn't come into play.

Most people don't hide in bushes for the entire game, even at low ranks. Even if they didn't Adrenaline won't really do anything for them since they weren't in danger to begin with.

Adrenaline is a pretty good and balanced perk, IMO.

It's not... it can reward you for nothing you have done.

  • Why everyone thinks adrenaline is fine? It has no downsides and you get two bonuses from it...

To anyone saying "it rewards doing gens" first... doesn't reward YOU for doing gens... so basically you could be hiding in a bush, and someone else could himself/ herself, doing gens and you still get a reward for it, it's unfair if you get an advantage when you have done nothing to get it.

Second: Even if the killers kills everyone with just a single gen done, if the killer closes the hatch, you receive adrenaline, you have been rewarded even if you didn't fulfill your objective.

Third: It ignores exhaustion, so you can use even a perk like sprint or dead hard and get an use for it.

Fourth: It gives you a heal state completely for free without a downside.

As I said, in the case you helped with gens or the progression of the match it's cool, but when you did nothing, you don't deserve to get a benefit from it.

  • Even thought he's weak, he is one of the few killers I consider fun to play with.

  • Well, I was using Oni in a match, two survivors with flashlights and one with a macro... the one with the macro went to the killer's shack pallet, missplayed and I got a down, when I was about to hook him, he DC'ed, the other survivor with the flashlight did the same and DC'ed (they were rank 1 and 2 respectively) It's kind of fun they want to bully and mock a killer but they DC when the killer stomps them

I got a bug right now every time I black pip I depip.

I can understand how frustrating it is and even if it doesn't really help. You will need to use his M1 more than the knifes since it seems that using your knifes doesn't count as winning a chase... I think if you down them with the knifes then it counts.
