Supposedly the entity wipes their memoy but then survivors couldn't get broken and get released to the Void if this were the case... the only thing that coems to mind is if they do have remember the feeling of it, like Furude Rika from Higurashi no Naku koro ni... she doesn't remember her death but feels the pain of it.
-
The after PTB legion was alright, they should buff the deep wound mechanic, having your DW timer not depleting while running make it less threatening... not something OP but at least, threatening, because you have a few seconds to open a door with the DW timer as an example, and as soon as you start running, the timer get stopped.

Yea, but I wouldn't call it a buff. If they upped the base unhook to 10%, survivors would have about a 1 in 3 chance of getting off the hook with self unhook. Currently, survivors have about a 1 in 9ish chance of getting a self unhook.
This would kill hook DCs but still make self unhooks risky even with 3% offerings.
Numbers might look like this:
Current self unhook chance, no offering: 12% chance of success or 1 in 9ish
Current self unhook with offering: 20% or 1 in 5
Current self unhook, monstrous shrine: No chance.
Current self unhook 4x salty lips and monstrous shrine: 3% chance of self unhook
Proposed self unhook chance, no offering: 27% or 1 in 4
Proposed self unhook with offering: 34% or 1 in 3
Proposed self unhook, offering, monstrous shrine: still no chance
Proposed self unhook and 4x salty lips and monstrous shrine: 20% or 1 in 5
Also I'm bad at math.
Don't forget that Ace Visconti has luck based perks, one of them adds 3% of luck for any survivor alive in the trial.
With all the offerings (right now) and luck based perks used, a survivor has a 58% of chances to escape... if we were to change the chances said number would become 64% which is pretty high and easily explotable.
Now, to counter your point...Why do you want them to stay in-match? Just to punish them for "being selfish" because if they just go AFK, then you won't benefit from a survivor like this at all... needless to say what happens if said survivor sand bag you or sabotage your match? This is bannable but devs don't do anything about it and I am pretty sure they won't, but anyway... the frustration you'd feel it would be way bigger than letting him die.
-
No. You can't force anyone to stay... and whether it might suck if you're playing with them, again, it's their choice. If you acuse them of being selfish then you're being selfish as well, trying to make them stay in a game that they clearly don't enjoy... And third, this is a game, not to be taken seriously, so stop the "you logged in, so you ought to play" stuff, you're not going to lose money or something if they stop playing, the worse case scenario is you losing a match in a game that doesn't matter at all.

He's fair because you can't just spam the living hell out of a quick scope to freely catch up. I guess it's time to get a REAL skill now, huh?
Funny you say that, but the chain can't hit you at 32 meters long, I was an awful deathsliger but the nerf was a bit too much, coming from a 110% killer.
-
I don't like the way you wrote it, it's like OP is making fun of it, even happy. It's not a good thing when someone else get screwed due to a bad company movement.
-
Well, whether it's true that some killers doesn't recognize their mistakes, you also have t orecognize that the killer itself is not really as different as survivor (specially those called M1 killers), so basically if you didn't set trap as the trapper is like having a survivor moving slightly faster against 4 survivors repairing gens. The vast majority of survivors are not good, that's why they always lose... or when you're good but paired with 3 potatoes... there's so much you can do. That's why we have the two sides, the vast majority complaining to killers being OP but not realizing they're just bad, and the other part of high MMR killers that complains about 3 min matches.

If every survivor is a try-hard, then it probably means you were a try-hard as a Killer.
If you play for fun, your MMR will adjust, you'll just suffer loses until it does.
Probably is the key word. Why people act like the new matchmaking is perfect, the devs make mistakes and it's fine to make mistakes as long as you realize they're there.

Yeah sure, both of her iri add-ons are her worst add-ons, but sure, the nerf is perfect.
But yeah, I would have preferred a range condition side effect, more than a hard limit hatchet. Like... 16m ? 20 ? I don't know
24 sounds better, it's the same with the achievement.
-
Yes, it completely negates Nurse's power... needless to say she moves slower than a survivor.
-
"This nerf might be a bit too much". What? The directional phase sound? It was a bug of her from a long time and spirits performed well enough with the bug, spirit was highly picked even then... stop overreacting.
-
Nurse is fine, the omegablink might be the only "powerful think she has" and even so that doesn't mean it's good, I do agree the masochist add-ons should be tweaked and make it something usefull, at least one of them. Nurse needs more than anything to have his bugs fixed. She's one of the most capable killers, if anything I'd give her a small buff to her basekit, or the recovery rate add-on, so you could use old Nurse... which using two add-ons to make her the old nurse was not OP.
-
I think it would be a good buff for Zanshin Tactics... and it does have some relation with it.

Some indie games i can personally recommend to occupy your time with:
-LISA: The Painful & The Joyful
-Darkest Dungeon
-Everhood
-Ender Lillies
-Omori
-Star Fetchers (just a demo but its REALLY good)
-Celeste, if you haven't already played that
Thats just a few, i could surely conjure up a few other really good ones if you wanted me to.
Horace is a really good game as well.
-
I do believe it is because if not they'd need to rework way more add-ons that they want to. As an example the Hag one that doesn't allow Hag to teleport but increases her speed, if you say to players, it increases the speedo from 4.4 to 4.5 instead of the usual 4.6 then players could understand that her add-on is useless.
Slighty increase the set-trap from 2 s to 1.8 s... I am not sure about the real value of Trapper's trap at the moment but this is an example of how many add-ons works and even, sometimes those are green or purple ones to have such a low value.

Nah man, Almo is convinced that there's some 200 IQ build or technique the entire player base hasn't figured out for him yet. Give him another 2+ years and we'll see.
For huntress, all they need to do (WITHOUT GOOFING IT UP) is make her hatchet hitboxes hatchet shaped and only reward her with hits for connecting with the survivor's model. That's it. Most developers can do this with minimal issues. MOST.
Clown is good now with his rework... I am having a lot of fun with the yellow bottles... still need more practice with them on loops but so far, it has been great.
-
Hexes, in general, are way too underpowered and need to be strong due to how high of a risk it is for the killer to carry them.
Also, add a preventive skill for hexes, so if an hex goes too soon, the killer can have a short buff for certain amount of time, i.e 30 secs.
-
"Can seriously affect the killer"? If you use survivor instead of killer then I would believe you but a 3 vs 1 match is always better than a 4 vs 1 match. Except if you're doing a tome challenge which are very annoying anyway

I'm saying it's not OP right now... I'm not talking about the past. BT and DS are fine.
BT is not fine, sometimes your best choice is to hook someone near the exit gate because you can't risk yourself as a killer, with BT they have a guaranteed escape, specially if you use DS with that one.

Spring Clamp reduces the audible range of your Generator-repairing noises by 8 meters.
Did they have a tool box with this addon Spring Clamp.
Don't missunderstand me but audio reduction is not the same as not giving audio cues. I have been using it and even thought the first part the generator repair was almost 0 when it started, it was very audible when it was almost fully repaired... not like normally but if you were near, you could hear it.
-
The kilers should have more power indeed... kill rate means nothing actually, DC's, AFK's and hook suicides counts as killed people either.
I agree that solo queue is very hard but that's not really the killer's fault but your teammates fault so if the entire team was killed because they refused to go for saves as an example, that doesn't mean "killer are strong enough", it means "survivors were bad players, so the killer was able to stomp them" and that shows a true aspect in the game, survivors are not good for the most part, even purple ones are not good.
If a survivor has more or less the same power than the killer, it means the killer needs a buff... 4 survivors should equal the killer... 2 at most, if you're in a good SWF or against coordinated 4 survivors, the killer will barely get a single K...
And actually, killers rely on survivors making mistakes that they capitalize, the exception being certain killers like Nurse where the killer skill is what matters and not if a survivor made a mistake.
-
I don't think the perk is by any means OP. It can be strong on the right hands, as almost every killer.
I think the perk is fine, it prevents those who goes for a flaslight save or saboteurs/body blockers to go undamaged.

My guess is and it's only a guess, the license was only for so long and that time is up, To renew the license would be too expensive. Or they just don't want to do it.
Actually, the proper answer is... We actually don't have more information related to the Stranger Thing DLC...

Would that affect your purchase? No, because either way, you still need to buy it before the cut-off date or have it lost to you forever.
That's not the point and it's not about the purchase. What's so hard to understand? Listen, did they never intended to make ST dlc to be always in the store? Was that something they have already planned? Because if it's so, they need to be clear about it. And yes, it does affect you. Does that mean that some characters will be available only "in seasons" like For Honor? And yes, there are "season licensed characters" in many games such as Fortnite so yes, you have the right to know if the characters do stay in-game as supposed as in this was just a license issue or as "this was something intentional"? Because if they're going to start seasonal characters that means people need to be aware that certain character won't be always available on-store... so when you purchase/don't purchase a character, you know that siad purchase will still be available as within the game or it will be available just for a few months/years.

If you paid for the chapter, you get to keep the characters. If you didn't, then you didn't pay for it, and therefore, by your logic, are not owed any satisfaction.
The map itself is free and can be added/removed at their discretion, like everything else in the game (it's in the EULA you agreed to).
You don't get the point, you're a customer and you get to know why something that you used to purchase, it won't be available anymore... it's not that dificult to understand. As an example, when they shut down the serves for deathgarden they didn't say "we are closing the servers" and that's all, the reason was that the player base was not as big as expected and actually they were losing money instead of earning by keeping the servers on... when Bill couldn't come to consoles they said "license problems" because you, as a customer have the right to know and them as a company has a right to inform you. You're not asking how much in taxes they pay which is totally unrelated, it's something about a product that you are purchasing.

Imagine thinking you're entitled to know the business practices of a company you're not on the board to. Just because you gave them money doesn't mean you get to know how often they flush their toilets.
No, but as a customer you get to know what the reason is, because that will gives you a head up if you want to keep investing on it or not. Stop thinking that you deserve to be treated like potato bags. You purchased something and it's normal to know why they can't keep it, whether it's for license issues or not... YOU are the one who paid for it. As I said, I can't remove your internet services and tell you "yes, but if you have downloaded something, you can still have it", you're paying for it and you deserve to know what's going on.

Actually yes. It's like a professor unwilling to share you the result of their test within a week... they have a responsability to do so as people are customers, imagine me providing you a service then removing it and saying "you don't need to know why, it won't change the result anyway"... so yes, people do have a right to know, specially when they paid for said product.

Well, people are allowed to DC whenever they want, seems people are forgetting this is a game, people are entitled to DC... the same as if people don't like a game, they are entitled to uninstall it. "Live and let live", if you want to play on RPD go ahead but if someone doesn't want then he's entiled to leave... you nor anyone can't force a person to stay in a match they don't enjoy... Why? Because it's a game, you paid for it and you are the one supposed to enjoy.
"Oh, the killer is camping me, but I'll stay 2 mins straight so my teammates can enjoy the game and leave"... this is a game, if you want go, do it, no one has the right to stop you.
-
Let's see... when someone says it dislike the map, it's not talking about aesthetics... Yes, the maps looks great and if you're a RE fan you will love it... but aestethically.
Gameplay wise, the killers have a hard time navegating it, you can see a hook at your side, but actually it's in the other room that you need to walk half the mat to get to it.

I'm not convinced by this best ping wins argument idea either. My ping is also really good and it happens to me too.
A survivor getting hit through a dropped pallet IS unfair but for me it has less impact on the game than having a hit taken away from you as killer, hearing them get hit, getting a teabagging for good measure and then having another 30 seconds of chase while three gens pop in the distance.
I am saying that it's happening to me as well
-
@DoomedMind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2397191#Comment_2397191
I have an actual question :
Why does that problem must be on the side of survivors ?
To begin with, I must say I play both sides (I have to, or the classic "survivor main spotted" sentences will rain). The problem is unfair, may it affect only survivors, or only killers. 90% of these unfair hits were totally risky, and in the mind of "let's try it, the server will probably give me the hit", proving that this kind of hit was busted.
Now when I got denied a hit, I'm like "yes, that makes sense, guess I shouldn't try this", and I'm perfectly fine with that.
Basically, saying that it should be reverted is saying that survivors don't worth this fix, or that killers are worthy to be able to land these hits, let's ignore the survivor side.
I'm not saying that killers have to be quiet and can't say it's unfair, nop, it is unfair, but saying it should be rethrown on the survivors face like ""good ol'time"", it's pure egoism, sorry to say that (but hey, I guess it's how it works in our society, by seeing how the covid crisis is happening)
Actually, if the hit happended before a survivor throw a pallet then it must have been guaranted and I could understand if the hit really shouldn't count but the server negates the hit if the pallet stun happens short after the hit, because that's the way they should probably have fixed it... you need to think of how they really could tell the server how not to take the killer hit, remember that a code is not an inteligent being.
-
@KajdanKi said:
This system is good. It is ping where problem lies. I dont see many animation issues when all players have stable low ping
Nah, I have a great ping but I did have matches where the animation didn't even start and actually, the pallet throw happens after they throw the pallet...
The main problem is... tolerance, the server must have a big tolerance in which if the pallet stun happens in example 0,4 seconds after the hit, then the server takes it as the hit should have never happended... Which honestly is the better explanation of this, the server doesn't count who hitted the button first because that would make good ping killers hit bad ping survivors but right now bad ping survivors can invalidate a hit.

Also, because having fun as Survivor often includes humiliating the Killer and vice versa.
This is an excerpt from the post I constantly link to:
Dead by Daylight is a unique game. It stands in the company of other asymmetric games, but it has unique aspects that other games don't that affect our psychology as we play. I wanted to explain these concepts and have some advice for how to counter them.
Concept 1: Humiliation DBD's gameplay is centered on humiliating your adversary. I would argue that every aspect of the gameplay is an act of humiliation, not competition, like you see in other games. The reward-based outcomes combined with asymmetric gameplay makes DBD uniquely painful to emotionally process both your losses AND wins. Let's look at the various aspects of gameplay:
Killer Humiliates
- Frustrates a survivor's ability to contribute to their team (social humiliation)
- Frustrates a survivor's ability to level up and earn points (reward-denial humiliation)
- Frustrates a survivor's ability to appear competent in front of their survivor peers (mild self-esteem humiliation)
Survivor Humiliates
- Frustrates a killer's ability to appear competitive and threatening in the game environment (social)
- Frustrates a killer's ability to level up and earn points (reward-denial humiliation)
- Humiliates the killer in post-game chat, something that while survivors aren't immune to, but have group social support resources to easily heal from (severe self-esteem humiliation)
Concept 2: Rollercoaster of Emotional Injury If a killer wins, but doesn't win "right" (camping, some glitch, lag, etc) they are deprived of their celebration by the survivors (survivor decides whether killers can celebrate, another humiliation). If a survivor wins, but everyone doesn't survive, the sacrificed survivor is deprived of joining in the celebration (the killer can take this opportunity to humiliate them). Through all of this, both player sides undergo extreme stress.
Killer Stress
Killers experience states of stress throughout the game: trying to find survivors, being evaded by survivors, losing track of survivors, and protecting hooks from survivor saves. Killers, at no point, have any moment of emotional peace or sense of "safety" from these states. The emotional injury ALWAYS ramps up in post-game end chat, and at the gate, where killers are ritualistically humiliated by twerking/circling/various taunts.
Survivor Stress
Survivors experience states of stress, too, with waves of calm: hiding, peacefully working on gens with their peers, being in the terror radius, evading, and being on the hook. Successful evasion and successful hides are followed by positive feelings of calm, while being chased is stressful, and being caught, hooked, and killed is a very substantial, large loss. A hooked survivor has disappointed their team, lost a huge amount of point potential, and been humiliated by the killer. Watch streamer facial expressions change when they realize they cannot be rescued and are dead, after a long match. There is pain in their face.
I think I have seen the same coment long time ago... I was going to congratulate you for the psychological research, since it is ignored by many, but I think the post went clossed due some users making "out of line" comments so let me congratulate you now.
Of course there are more psychological aspects to it... like the frustration of a survivor being able to bypass all the killer's effort, and the humillation they add with the click-click or their t-bags at the exit gate... from the survivor's side, mostly in solo queue, your teammates being extremely selfish (even thought everyone in the game is looking after themselves), not going for an unhook or such things even thought the killer is not camping them... now, you start seeig how the survivors are going down while on-hook because they could've worked together and instead decided to be selfish so that's an overall lose, for you as a survivor for the low BP and for the loss of your team.
Strategies like camping and tunneling are stressing as well, since a survivor who is not using the meta perks, can be overpowered for those killers and making unfun games for them.Sidenote: I get that fun is a relative concept but we do agree that fun is something we enjoy and those tactics are not enjoyable... in most cases they're not enjoyable for the killer either which uses it as a frustration method.

The true Nemesis would work perfectly fine. Everyone knows that they would complain. Would that do anything though? Look at the other killers that people complain about. Nothing happens to them thank god. If he would be like Demogorgon where he has a bit of everything well... Great. That probably sounds incredible to a ton of people. I mean people really like Demo right? It wouldn't be a huge issue. And I don't even need all of that. The LEAST they could do is just replace zombies with running and thats enough since I know they won't EVER do all of it. But at least give him his speed which is a thing he is known for. I mean he lacks ALL speed and looks ridiculous running at the speed he does in DBD.
Well, Demo was indeed nerfed and almost every killer in the roster... fortunately there have been some buffs as well. Anyway, I haven't played RE3... yet but I think it would be a good adition if a zombie had X chance to become a crimson head? I mean, we do have an add-on that makes zombies way faster but I would love to see a crimson head running straight to a survivor if all gens are powered. It would be interesting.

I also have the platinum. Got it 10 days after it released. I also have the platinum for RE2R, RE7, RE8, RE4, and am working on the others. But I don't really care about that. Oni is like Nemesis. People are fooled because of how he looks though. Oni has a high amount of destruction like Nemesis but better in speed and lethality somehow. He IS a he true Nemesis in gameplay. He even has the perk. Nemesis is only Nemesis in looks, sounds, and animation which ends up fooling people. But everyone thinks he would be broken for what I'm asking for. I'm asking for his real abilities to be in the game in some way. I've said many times before I dont care about balancing. He could be the worst killer but I want the abilities in the game. His running, destruction, and lethality. That's it.
Don't missunderstand me but if killers already weak like Twins got nerfed... Can you imagine the true nemesis? Survivors would be crying for a nerf then you'd have his "rework" to be what nemesis is nowadays... Besides, the true Nemesis, with all his powers I think it would be like Demo... a Jack of all trades if you must, so to say, he will have letalthy, speed, but it won't be good so in the end he will have many powers like nemesis and at the same time, he would have none.
-
One of the current problems is the invulnerabilty that DH grants. Many times a survivor makes a mistake trying to go again for the same loop when you are almost at the end of a pallet, they can simply bypass the killer going backwards and throw a pallet, guarantizing a stun and the breaking time in order to reach another tile.
The "Hey, I hit them" when you hit them with a spear or a hatchet but they DH anyway, since with Deathslinger, you need to reload your gun in orden to fire it again which creates more distance, I think that's part of its unfairness since you already have distance from it and it will make it fairest, because you couldn't DH on a bear trap and completely negate the killer's power either.
-
I suggest practicing without add-ons, you can use plaid flannel to get an idea first... then you can use add-ons who affects blink recovery rate and fatigue duration. Also, many survivors will try to go back from where they are, you can use a shorter blink to avoid going so furth away so if they come back you can hit them and if they keep walking or change directions you can use the second blink.
-
Well, there's a bug or perhaps BHVR has been hacked? That a lot of players are taking advantage of, certain DLC's will be unblocked for you, being RE among them. I had it unlocked but closed/open the game and it got locked again, thankfully because I don't want to get in troubles due to that. But many are going for the achievement/perks without paying the DLC.

If DbD were ballanced around highest players that will mean... first, the game will need rewards.
Second, the game wouldn't be played casually which is the largest amount of player base, the sweatiness will increase a lot since the new comers, as they're perkless, they'll want to climb up to get each perk... easier, the game will need a ranking system... an accurate one which is indeed very hard.
I know some people would say "if you want to chill then stay in low ranks" but since the game will be competitive, even staying in low ranks will mean that someone will play as sweaty as possible.
I don't think it's a good idea... at all.

Pretty sure that works both ways, it isn't a "x main" specific problem. It's only that way when you have an ignorant perspective from only one side yourself, generally speaking. I'd imagine that's not a foreign concept to you, someone whose entire post history is nothing but "Imbalanced game, killer OP" from glancing at it.
Also, as I recall you only have to escape for survivor adepts, which are infinitely easier than the killer one, which is an absolute pain. In other words it's this way because BHVR.
Nice whatabaoutism... the killer adepts need to change? Yeah but that doesn't make that more unfair situations are ok
