Oh then in that case... having bad or good manners in a game matters? No offense but that sounds ridiculous. In game actions should not correspond to real life. You can't have good or bad manners is a video game. Especially in a game where you are tying to mest hook people. (No means to sound disrespectful towards you btw. My wording isn't amazing)
I mean, generally, a game is to have fun and bad mannerism clearly affects that.
-
Sounds like everyone doesn't read more than two sentences next to each other... the guy is saying flashlights are fine... and to be honest, most of it is but the angles where you should be blinded should be looked at, there are weird angles where you can be blinded even though you're not even facing the flashlights... now... do y'all care to read a single bit before posting a comment? Perhaps in that way, people could reach an understanding.
-
I think in order to get DH you should, at least get a protection hit or two... this way will synergize with WGLF (We're Gonna Live Forever, for new players), encourages altruistic actions AND it's not a "free hit", you should earn it. And if you ask, you need to unhook someone to get "Deliverance" to activate, even though it's a one use perk and also very situational. DS is a strong perk and it has conditions that you should meet in order to use it as well.
-
@TurboTOne said:
What if they changed it to only activate when healthy. That way you know you will get your down guaranteed.
It won't synergize with David's perk "No Mither" and since DH is from David's basekit, they should synergize somehow.

You're right, silly me. It's so obviously power cuts and wifi issues every time a survivor gets down fast, tunneled etc.
And those people who quit and have said why they quit are the very small minority and 99% of DCs are clearly accidental issues
That's a fallacy there, my friend. You're deriding my point. You can't speak for the whole community with such a statement.
-
To be honest, in order for this game to be fun again, it should go back to be more of a party game, which it was supposed to be... meaning a fun & games chill... you didn't need to sweat with a 4 DH, DS, BT users... they were all to have fun, perks like leader were used more than now even thought they are not "good perks". Right now, people tell you. Don't want to be tunneled? Use DS then and so on... people need to know how to chill and that they don't always need to run the meta perks for the win. I do use often Resilience. There are better perks? Yeah but I don't want/need to sweat to win with all the meta perks, I am there to have fun. Also, that means I am not good at looping, which is ok because again, I don't go for the win and I certainly don't care even though winning is a sweeter feeling.

Yes I do, I can physically see them go down and rage quit.
You can also message them and their responses are pathetic. If you dont want to play the game just uninstall it, simple.
I mean, if you know the +40,000 players then that's how you can say the vast majority... your experience is not the same as everyone else.

Most people arent quitting due to power cuts etc. They're physically quitting due to going down fast or versing a killer they dont like, both are stupid reasons and not ones the devs need to fix.
People need to accept they will verse certain killers and they can be outplayed
I mean, you don't really know what's going on on the other player's end so... and besides, you can't force a player to stay, this is a game.
-
Actually the breakable walls does help killers... as an example, not breaking the walls in badham stop survivors from chaining the main building and making it a semi infinite.
-
Not at all... BHVR has been doing some bad choices, game related wise and 'm not liking the way they treat their player base like if the people who play the game are stupid...
-
@Emeal said:
@kizuati Idk if you dont know how these exploits are made and maintained but here goes.
There are money in cheating, people will buy cheats from professional hack developers. Every time BHVR patches some of the holes used by the hack developers, they will work day and night to restore functionality. Its not pretty, you can spend terrible amounts of resources fighting cheaters/hackers and they will always find another hole.
Now BHVR is always working on fixing these exploits. But development of fixes take time and is possible undone fast anyway.
How many resources do you want BHVR to invest in this? How long will it last?
-
Now the way I think we might the best opportunity to fix the hacker problem is to come together as a Community and Developer.
- Hacking has become more known, increasing usage, we must avoid increasing the popularity of cheating and cheaters.
- Shared community content which includes cheaters, should not be shared/liked and should be downvoted.
- Content creators should not bring attention to hackers. Reports of cheaters should happen via the Support System.
- Any cheater you meet ingame should be met with disapproval and disappointment, zero social encouragement.
- Making sure every community member knows how to report accounts through BHVR's System. (Ingame and via Support)
Here are some very rough points about what we can do.
Actually... those are the worst advices llke, ever. If there's a problem, it should be well-known. Specially if the devs seems to care little to nothing about it and also, isn't the first point like kind of dumb? Since you're listing ways to stop hacking.
3)Hacking a game, not only cost a lof of money but resources... you're right about that but even so. The amount of hackers have increased, and that's because BHVR don't care to deal with. And yes, I understand you wanting to believe the developers but actually, there are smaller teams with less hacking who are almost as popular as DbD. Why is that? I know, "probably they're a better community"... if you think that, let me tell you that even if there are communities less toxic than DbD the truth is, if someone finds a route shorter to the same goal, many will take it.5) You need to go through a hell just to fill a report and even so, the people you report more than anything, they don't get banned due to the "lack of proof". Also, it's not, the community should know how to do BHVR's work for them, it's like this "BHVR should work in a better in-game report to ensure it's working"
2) don't understand the point of "downvoting it"? I mean seriously? In order to downvote something, you have to search for it first... anyway... Do you eriously believe this will do something to stop hacking?
4) Literally no one here supports cheating. Stop being silly. They might support bullyng a killer/survivor but no more than that.
-
Well. I've stopped playing and I can say I am relieved now... the game's toxicity has increased a lot in the last year and I mean in every kind of ranking in general so that's a negative point.
Another negative point is... hacking. Hackers were very hard to find in the game but now they don't even try to hide it, meaning how little to ... the only time I saw someone hacking was when I had started playing, a Dwight suddenly flyed when he was in the dying state and went above the exit gate who was closed at the time being.
Another negative point: Many core issues not being addressed. Prestige doesn't feel rewarding. Ultra rare addons doesn't feel worth of their value. Grind is excesively high... that can be addressed by simply erasing one tier of the perks (and no, saying spaghetti code is not a magic word to erase all the problems, they have a problem and they need to address it).

Flashlights exploits: Yeah, I know, flashlights are hard to use but if you do know how to use them well, you will start to understand that there are times from where you can blind a killer and the killer can't defend against it... locker saves as an example... if it's used to annoy the killer and even though they'll run out of batteries it's not fun for the killer to be trapped in that situation. Also, some weird flashlight saves that shouldn't have occurred otherwise, if you know how to use flashlights, you will know about those situation where you can blind a killer even if they're facing a wall...

Yeah, but that perk enable something like this happen and i think it's not right. I would change to be like: every survivor that got hooked one time become exposed and if hooked twice, he can get mori or quick mori (like Final Judgement)
Not really, NOED doesn't enable this problem... face camping Bubba can easily use his chainsaw and that's even worse than using NOED in a camping situation.

Ok, so tell me. How do I want to balance the rest of the game?
I don't know, I am not a mind reader... we all want a fair match indeed, but our ideas of fairness may change from person to person. Besides, I don't now what this has to do with anything since we've been talking about NOED.
-
@gendoss said:
NOED is interesting to me because it exposes how people truly feel about game balance. It's pretty much a discussion about risk vs reward and NOED users love reward with little to no risk and NOED haters like actual fair game design. If you like NOED I can already tell how you want to balance the rest of the game.
Little to no risk? It's a perk that can be disabled even before coming into game and you're using three perks for the remainer of the trial.

You’re not a bad killer because you use noed, but if you’re a bad killer and have many hours in the game, you sure use noed
Nah, I am a bad killer yet I don't use NOED. Because A) I am using three perks for almost the entire match and B) There are chances that NOED doesn't get activated at all... well, I use to say I am bad but actually I am not that bad maining legion or pig.
-
@Marcavecunc said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2823063#Comment_2823063
True, but the main reason people complain about the perk is because of the way it activates when the killer was doing super badly. No one complains about the killer having it if they were already losing the game.
Actually, they complain because the game is not over yet and they thought they had the game already won which you and I know they didn't. So it doesn't activate for the killer actions, mean, killer being bad, it activates from survivors being lenient and not stoping gens to do bones. The iller gets benefitted by survivors not doing their job but alas, it's easier to complain on the other's side fault than our own.
-
@Marcavecunc said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2823037#Comment_2823037
Seeing how often people use boons in a match, the "I don't have time to do bones" excuse is out the window. You have time to boon totems 5+ times in a single match, you have time to cleanse them all.
Don't nerf noed because survivors are too ######### lazy to do bones. Nerf it because it's unbalanced and could do with some more requirements than getting your butt kicked.
Actually the "getting your butt kicked is a bad argument", sometimes you killed three survivors and close the hatch first so NOED activates. Does that mean they were winning? Not at all, you had the game in the bag, so to speak. Same with many times where all the gens are powered, sometimes there are only one or two survs left so the argument of being a crutch perk it's not really like that. There are many circumstances where NOED can activate and it doesn't necessarily activates when you're having a bad match as a killer.
-
There are a bunch of them. Are you sure we can just do one?
Killer perks:
Brutal strenght: Buff it to 10/20/30 % , even if you pair it with fire up, that would give you a 50% , it means that you break pallets at 1.3 seconds which is fast indeed but the survivor is able to create distance without creating that much of a distance.
Lightborn: When someone tries to blind you, your speed is increased by 5% for as long as the user's aura is revealed to you. This would be to combine actual lightborn with one of the Hillbilly add-ons, on real it would be pretty useless though.
Coup de grace: When you press the active button ability, the next lunge is increased, your red mark is shown to the survivor and to you until you lunge. This way, the survivors know if you have it, gives it a bit of counterplay and gives to you some consistency since you know how long your next lunge will be and you can use it whenever you want it.
Coulrophobia: Almost the same BUT, survivors outside your TR, have a 10/15/20 % health speed penalty.
Survivor perks:
No Mither: . You start the trial healthy, but as soon as you recover from the dying state or a survivor heals you from the dying state , you have the brotken status effect.
Appraisal: You can rummage multiple times the same chest as long as you don't pick up the object... This will keep the idea of the perk and give it some use, in case you don't want the item that is inside of the chest, instead of being forced to look for another chest.
Any means neccesary: Shorten the time from 40/30/20 BUT... a pallet can be lifted just once in a trial, so if someone else lifted it then you can't lift the same pallet again.
Pharmacy: You open chests 100 % faster (because yes, making the time faster is not going to be game breaking so... why don't make it as fast as it could be?), the first time you open a chest, you'll get a green medkit with a brown add-on/ yellow add-on/ green add-on.
I don't recall anything else but I'll be adding it if I think of something else.
-
@Bjario said:
That would easily get abused. Just bodyblock a survivor in a corner and wait out the timer for maximum toxicity.
I mean, first is very hard get bodyblocked, second thanks to the EGC you can finish your objetive... and third the killer can't really bodyblock you, you have to get there first.
-
I understand the feeling but first, you got your trap off which means she was not chasing you/tunneling you off hook at least on your first hook... if you were unfortunate enough to get trapped a second time well, I feel sorry but Pig did nothing wrong. Two, your mates not leaving means it's their fault, not the killer one.
-
Actually... the game had lighting effects on the first versions back when the moon bouquet was still a thing so I don't know why they removed all lighting visual effects in-game.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
Yea SBMM takes in Killer in general not specific Killers.... sorry to say it
It does not, many people are bad with killers in general and yet they get a high SBMM.
-
Actually, that's a wrong mindset and a wrong analogy. A player or players are not determined by their team, so their team might be bad yet that doesn't mean they are... also, even if you lose. Is that a bad thing? Many people who are not athletes believes they can judge it and say "oh, but he/she is second, she lost" when you do not see how much time they've been training. As an example, I do like boxing a lot and I practice boxing myself as well... a well connected punch can make a great fighter fall. Does that mean that everything else didn't count? Many will say "he lost by KO in the first round. What a loser" but actually, it's getting there and fighting what matters, training everyday, following a routine... if you're there is because you trained hard for it and you're not a loser, you lose a match which is different.

It will take almost the same time to implement something for mobile than for PC, talking about coding it. So the whole "the mobile team is different" is a bad excuse for their lazyness, they can do it on PC or console yet they don't want to do it. If you have two teams and one of them is doing a better job than the other when both of them has the same struggles, if not more challenges from the mobile version, since there are stuff that they need to redo again because it won't work like on PC, like the button to look back... then yes, I'd call the other team incompetent or lazy... basically the PC team says "it's a lot of work and effort so we can't really do it" when the actual explanation is "I will be paid anyway and the people will keep playing so why bothering about it?"
This is to continue my previous comment. Many people who are playing this game are half deaf or fully deaf yet they keep playing. Couldn't the DBD PC and consoles team add the heartbeat that you see in the mobile version of the game? They can, but they won't.

I can't speak to the quality of the mobile version.
Though, aren't they different teams? My understanding is that the mobile version doesn't have any actively new content, they just translate killers, survivors, etc from the full game. So, that team probably has the time to develop a basic practice mode, and the regular team doesn't.

Once again its your opinion and i will not judge you..
It's a fact, not an opinion. This is the problem when serious matters are taking into account about opinions instead of facts. Opinions are prone to change from person to person... it's like if you ask "Did you feel harassed?" and people can feel something but that doesn't mean it is what happended. As an example, someone touched what no one should touch. Did I feel abused or have I been sexually abused? See the difference, harassment and abusing is not about opinion or thinking it's about an act. The only thing this is doing is avoiding the real victims of harassment to be taking into account since everyone will be thinking "oh, it's another whinner".

Knowing how development works from the inside... it never works like that. I wish I could say "ohh, they just had to work harder", but 99% of the time it's actually because when you develop there are like 420 different problems being thrown in your face that you have to solve.
I know some people expect them to work 20 hours a day, but... let's be real...
Communication with the player base is hard, especially since many players don't really understand or sympathize with them. These people will not like anything. You are only saying soon? Bad. Saying dates but not delivering? Bad. And don't forget, the upset people are always the loudest ones.
I'll let them say when they are ready. Saves me and others disappointment. With the QnA, you can get a general idea about the plans. A very vague, but an idea. I'm glad I have it.
No one expects them to work 20 hours a day, but there are ways to make your work easier... they could've started a long ago making the game from scratch in order to, let's say, don't have a mess that's only going to get bigger because you didn't properly developed the game but used blocks to create them and here you have, the game keeps growing and Did someone at BHVR started with it? No one, every healing perk works similarly and with a similar code yet every perk must be changed differently, as an example, Boon CoH could easily work like We'll Make it, with the healing speed capped but no, it doesn't. So that means they're programming everything twice, ON PURPOSE. If you're wise then you'll try to make your work easier for you, cutting your time. My boss had a horrible way to assign our jobs so I had to reassign stuff to my coworkers and designed it in a way that we could work faster and get less stress from the same work... getting a better productivity.
If no one stops and says "no, you know? We're doing our work wrong" and rethink about their gameplan and how to improve their productivity then yes, blame everything else, programming is hard, indeed but there are ways to make their works easier, simpler and faster (in fact, a good programmer is indeed, lazy, he will take time in programming something if that means he will be able to save time and get more time later), improving the productivity, they just don't want to stop and think about it because people will keep playing.
-
I mean How can you even compare NOED to CoH?
-
@Oiry said:
Idk, I understand it's probably not fun hearing "soon" n stuff, but i understand why they say it. If they say "in the 5.7 update but then smth comes along and they can't do it outrage happens. I would rather have some kind of communication between the devs and the player base. While this is not the most ideal way to do it, it is a way and I'm happy it is in place.
Maybe I think this way because I'm a dev myself and I can relate, but yeah... idk.
Can't wait for the Twins QoL changes. It's gonna take a year, but I'll happily wait.
I mean they could do it but that actually means they can't slack anymore... because they've told the playerbase to wait about a lot of stuff (one of the most waited things was returning the legacy to the owners) and then they told you "You know what? Screw you". And it will force them to fulfill their word instead of playing and fooling around.

community: "stop cherrypicking the questions!"
devs: *picks the questions people upvote, despite the fact they already know the devs cant speak on them*
the community: "omg cherrypick the questions so you can answer them already"
I mean, they still do cherrypick questions, since not every question that gets most upvotes are on the Q&A so if they're going to cherrypick, at least they could be honest about it.
-
I don't understand it either, the fun of the game is basically interacting with the killer or mates. As a survivor I like to run from tile to tile, that makes me prone to go down, but the idea is to go down eventually. So yes, I could make the killer chase me for 10 min straight until every generator is powered but what's the fun in that? It seems that everyone plays the most "efficient" way but forget about the fun aspect.

You are projecting saying I have a bias when really it is you with the bias while continuing to state your opinions are facts when they are not facts. The history of blackface makes blackface intrinsically racist and Leatherface never wore a black person's face in the movies so your statement on what he would/wouldn't do is just an assumption not fact. You can keep stating your opinions and claiming they are facts but that won't change the facts BHVR has stated and the masks will still be removed because of the facts BHVR had stated.
Actually, you're using a falacy... basically your statement is the following "because X says that LF mask is blackface then that means it's true" which is not, it's like saying you're right just because you're the president... that's appealing to the authority and it's a falacy.

Otz has a huge MMR and he did this no perk & 30s AFK experiment, proving it's the killers who are OP.
So a person who plays killer for a living plays against competitive survivors that doesn't really play for a living or as many hours as Otz and that's the reason why killer is OP?

I don't have end game chat on console, but friends do, and when someone tries to get around it by saying "tapp/Adam/Claudette player" it's pretty easy to bait them from that into further speech that indicates the tunneling was due to skin color. Whether or not it's immediately bannable compared to hardcore racist speech words, who knows. But at least it's likely the reports will build up until they get nuked from the game.
I mean, we all know that darker colors are easier to get lost due to the poor visuals of the game... we all know it so if we go strictly in the definition of racism as discrimination or picking someone... well, then yes indeed. But there's a difference between "I am doing it because I think people of color shouldn't exist" or by hate if you must call it like that... or "hey bro, it's unfair that you're using a character with a darker skin to get an unfair advantage because the game doesn't favor some maps with their brightness"
