  • Well, I am getting better at it even if I don't have the adept yet. Thank you so much for the suggestion guys!

  • Actually... I'd be up for it... at least increase the chance of a skillchep when you're having the penalization, in that way you could get rid of it in the early game.

  • Dredge is way better than Sadako... the teleport works way better...

Sadako can only teleport to TV's which are closer to gens and also need to be powered yet Dredge has almost all map to teleport (except dead zones).

His cool-down is way lower than the one Sadako has

Dredge performs better in-chase due to Nightfall, sometimes they will have a hard time seeing what's in front of them and besides, not having the red stain is a good addition.

  • @CakeDuty said:

You're probably reading it wrong. You have to Mark (Expose) 4 different survivors. Not chase them

Aaah, the translation says start a chase... I should've switched it to English.

This isnt hidding from bbq. Its hidding watching your whole team die and doing nothing waiting for hatch or the door.

I mean, to each their own... even in DBD steam page talks about "betraying" your teammates... in the end, everyone is for themselves. If you go with that logic then a Dwight should search for the NOED totem or attempt a rescue instead of t-bagging at the exit gates.

  • @KerJuice said:

I never understood why ppl play like that. Too scared to do anything. Why even play? When I was new, I didn’t do that. I participated. My biggest offense was hiding to avoid barbecue, not realizing that actually hurt the team because aggro was not distributed evenly.

I mean, hiding because BBQ doesn't hurt your team, the killer will not receive any information of the perk... the perk value resides in knowing where to go next and actually saves a lot of time, so hide and the killer will need to patrol every gen.

So, this makes it kinda obvious that you haven't been here for TOO long, since these are the old animations being used in this video.

I'm also pretty sure mobile has several other disadvantages to it, such as gacha, and it's made by NetEase which is much bigger than BHVR...

You're right but not so right... BHVR is a bigger company than it originally was, and yes, even if they do have more content now, it feels like things like events are left out... I mean, the new halloween event is pretty cool but other than that, the events felt lackluster.

  • @Saitamfed said:

Hey BHVR, I get it, the mobile version is done by another team but that's not excuse for not improving your game. I mean look at those cool mori's animation.

Also, I like how the survivors limp in the mobile version instead of just running away.

It's when a killer downs a survivor on one side of a pallet, and a person with a flashlight drops the pallet from the other side.

If the killer goes to break the pallet, the person with the flashlight can vault, making the pallet uninteractable. The space bar press (or whatever the console prompt is) then makes the killer pick up the downed survivor instead of breaking the pallet. The flashlight survivor then fast vaults back to their original position for an easy flashlight save.

However, if the killer anticipates it and waits, the survivor vaults into them for a free hit. It's a stupid tech, but it's easily counterable and extremely risky because of it. I've got no problems with it being in the game.

Although you have my thanks for the info.

It's kind of a stupid tech then, and it wastes a pallet...

  • What's a CJ tech?

  • Nurse does have counterplays... double walls, breaking LOS. And before anything, rocks and trees do exist, don't think in breaking LOS means only a structure... the second blink is for correction, yes, but it's also way shorter than the first one and you don't really have a lot of time to aim...

Yes, Nurse's is kind of map dependant BUT all killers are somehow capable of doing that, a skilled killer who knows how to hide the red stain will catch you off-guard in a loop... every killer has its counters, Nurse is one of the hardest killers to counter but if you are willing, you can know how to do it, I mean, I've countered nurse back when she had five blinks...

  • @Azarino said:

When all the Nurses I play against use this, it doesn't matter how far away you are, Starstruck activates if you're near, when she's carrying a survivor. It should only activate ON pick-up. Not the entire time she's carrying someone with Agitation. It gets boring. Can they not nerf it, so that it only activates when you're near on pick-up? In fact, just disable the Starstruck on Nurses. I main her, but I NEVER use this OP perk as it's very unfair for survivors.

Actually... startstruck actiave in the entire carrying process... if you know a Nurse has starstruck then don't be near her when she carries a survivor... and if you somehow got caught on it, then run away from her TR so your exposed will disappear.

You are welcome. The shoulder mic can make for some pretty ridiculously long smash and grabs, though, but it's much more meme-y in nature. Combine it with the add-on that increases fling distance and try to displace some surprised suevivor one third of the map.

You mean the Egg add-on? That's a pretty good advice. Thank you!

  • @Sharpefern said:

Base the second one is longer than the first, however his two brown add ons can also adjust the distance of his bounds.

    Thank you.

  • @Akumakaji said:

If I recall correctly, the shoulder mounted police mic lengthens the second bound by 20% and and Horse Coin shortens is by 20%, making both bounds basically equal in length.

The Horse Coin is much more useful IMHO, as it makes the bounds that much more predictable and manageable.

It's useful to know someone has already tested them.

Well, I have to admit when they try to because I am nurse (not a good one but not that bad) and then I start crushing them... funny they cry for nerfs when they abuse every mechanic to their advantage.

If you're trying to go for GF's merciless, I may be able to offer a few suggestions.

First, you need to know the stalking meter doesn't get depleted, so if there's a survivor that caught you stalking and start running away, it's better to let them, since they would be pretty much exposed next time you find them, if you hit them instead, you will lose all the exposed

Second, if you stalk through a wall, you stalk way faster than just crouching or standing (I am sure you might know this already but... better safe than sorry)

Third, the further you are from them, the slowest you will stalk them, this might look bad but it can be an advantage, good ghostfaces stalk you from far away and when they're almost done, they get close and finish the stalking.

Philly and the Cheap Cologne are good add-ons for GF and due to being a brown add-on, it's easy to get...

I hope I was able to help you a little bit and good luck with that!

I just saw in the wiki, you don't get a penalty for stalking from far away!

WHAT TO ADD IN THE DESCRIPTION

    Example

Step 1 :Play as survivor in SWF

Step 2 : Play vs myers

Step 3 : Wierd individual exposes and instant t3

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • Jill
    • Urban Evasion, flashbang, Blast Mine, Iron Will
    • Saloon
    • one match

    DOCUMENTS TO ADD

I didn't have time to pull up OBS during the match because this happened way too fast but I pulled it up after to show the perks and add-ons. This Myers hit T2 almost immediately but not T3 yet, he then dropped down from the outside of the Saloon and one-shot our Mikaela. One hit down not T3, hooked her I rescued. No terror radius she was hooked next to hangman. He then dropped from the hangman with sudden terror radius and missed a swing at me, chased me a little bit then hit me. the instant he hit me I got an exposed status and went down, still not in T3, this expose was 30 seconds. He hooked me then proceeded to camp me half way to second hook stage then went off right to the Mikaela who had snuck into the saloon through the back of the saloon (no way he could have possibly seen) instant T3 and downed them, took her to hook and our Leon then rescued me, we hid and healed and his T3 went down. He then found the meg less that 3 seconds after his T3 went down and back into T3 he went instantly. what followed was us trading hooks with a Myers that kept re-upping his T3 as soon as it went down.

Not to sound like THAT guy but... What perks did that Myer have?

So using a filter to be able to see survivors easier when they are hiding is ok? Are you even sure that it's ok to use filters to give you an advantage in game? It all honestly may be a bannable offense by the DBD team, I would at least ask before using them.

It was stated that is not a bannable offense and, excuse me but using game filters doesn't give you an advantage because you still can see the player... if someone is hiding well, i.e. Claudette in a bush, then you won't see it, no matter how many filters you're using.

Shes prob the best twins streamer out there, just saying

Don't missunderstand me, but being the best "X" streamer doesn't make anyone a good player... I've seen people complaining about how weak Wraith is (which I agree, he's kinda weak) and make videos doing things like... uncloacking too far... not using Wraith's superior speed to block a vault / pallet, trying to uncloack, seeing that it doesn't work and they don't uncloack at all... trying to spread chases...

I am just saying, as I've seen in another comment in this thread, being a good killer is having good game awareness (which includes perk synergies, when to hook, when to slug and a big etc), it doesn't mean 4k'ing every match as many things could change that factor... also, people also have affinities, or skills, some people are good with ghostface and some can not even fully stalk a survivor.

  • Well, being toxic is when people act very rude and disrespectful just for the sake of being disrespectful... being annoyed or not by it, doesn't really mean something stops being toxic. As an example, a survivor t-bagging me has no effect, yet it is toxic. Why? Because their intention is to disrespect me... it's not toxic by the reaction I have but the intention the person has in mind. And yes, we are unable to read the mind of the other player but, we can somehow pinpoint when a survivor or killer tries to be toxic.

As an example, if a killer lets you almost bled out and then gets you to the exit gates just to finally down you... or when a killer knows where the hatch is, you're the last survivor and the killer let you reach the hatch just to close it in your face or mori you, then yeah, it is toxic and also, a waste of my time, I get that many people playing the game are a bunch of kids/ teens, but some people might have done a hard challenge and don't have enough time so they try to move on as fast as they can and someone griefing, or making the game last longer just to annoy another player can be considered toxic.

So I've reported some of these things as bugs, some of them as issues that needed addressing and so far BHVR has mostly if not completely ignored them and now instead added JPEG at the boot screen.

Please, upvote this thread and talk about it. We need to get BHVR to address the issues at hand.

    INSANE MAP FLICKERING

Haddonfield Lights - The New Haddonfield has been reported as an insane seizure fest for a while now and BHVR has done nothing to address or even acknowledge the issues. All lights in all houses occasionally (rather often really) start flickering at insanely high speeds until the generator is done - enough to even make some non-photo-sensitive folk uncomfortable.

Springwood & Lery's Lights - All of these maps have the same issues, thankfully it's not as ######### bad as Haddonfield. There are still very intense and really stupid at their current rate.

Additionally,I've also encountered insane shack texture flickering on Eyrie of Crows - for some reason the LOD keeps switching at insane speeds. There's been a lot more LOD flickering on the new RPD too.

    THE MENUS

The menus in DBD - along with the bloody prestige highlights and archives menus and all the effects in it just start going at thousand times the normal speed. This is just..really hard on the eyes. It looks like this has been a bug since the dawn of DBD and BHVR never bothered to fix it. How about you do,dear developers.

    THE KILLERS

The Onryo - This has been a killer with many concerns brought about by me specifically and some community members in the thread. I was very saddened to see that not all of our concerns were addressed. I personally still cant play that Killer in non-windowed mode and for slightly prolonged periods of time - the static VFX while demanifested is too intense. It needs to either be optionally turned off or toned down.

The Doctor - Do I even need to explain him? Delete it or again, bring a photosensitivity option.

You dont just slap a seizure warning and call it a day. That's legal mumbo jumbo. I want to see actions. I want to see this be the start to make DBD actually accessible. I've heard plenty of concerns from people hard of hearing and even a lot of people talking about how your color blindness options are not enough. I'd love to see people who know more about those issues due to their own experience to come and weigh on this.

BHVR needs to up their game.

Whether you're right in many things... having an actual seizure warming is the right way to go, at least until things do get addressed, if they do. So now people with photosensitivity are properly warned

The flickering lights are used to show that there is an unrepaired generator.

On Lery's the signs work the same as lights.

    Light off = no generator

    Light flickering = unrepaired generator

    Light on = repaired generator

The flickering has a purpose but it could be changed to dimmed lights or maybe differently colored light.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3177837#Comment_3177837

And fursuits, elf outfits, pajamas, ...

    🦆🦂

I mean, the flickering lights in Lery's is not really that much of an issue because the flicker is... normal overall.

  • Whether light flickering is one of the most common elements of it, it isn't absolutely related to horror... there are many elements that contribute to horror, like Twins as an example.

"It's not fun when I play in an extremely toxic way that a game mechanics punishes me, although it costs the survivor a perk, which it shouldn't".

DS not only needs to be back at 5 seconds, it should also be basekit. If you can't get 4 kills as killer without camping and tunneling then git good. Skill issue 100%

It's because comments like that that we do not receive good stuff in the midchapters and instead a massive rushing. DS needs to be 5 seconds because it doesn't give you the chance to get away... that was all you needed to comment. Camping is a playstyle and, sometimes, a needed one. Is it unfun? Yeah, but it's a playstyle nonetheless and sometimes the only viable strategy a killer has...

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

The problem is her basekit is not fine when the devs do not consider her basekit when implementing new perks/changes to the game.

So in essence what you have is a killer that bottlenecks most if not all possible perks that they could introduce to the game, not to mention things that other killers need.

I mean, when they release a map, they don't consider killerrs... when they've released the Oni one as an example... a lot of killers struggle with it and that goes for every map. Should we nerf a killer that does well in certain maps due to it? Should we nerf nemesis because zombies in closed maps are a pain?

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Idk the majority of complaints I see are because most of the Nurses people complain about have the Starstruck build with her OP add ons.

It is clear she breaks the game whenever the devs decide to introduce a new strong perk or do universal buffs to killers in general. The complaints are legit. It isn't just "refusing" to learn to play against her.

Well, you're right but people asking for nerfs, or what I've seen is not... nerf X add-on, which can be considerated the problem... it's always make her that her fatigue is... meaning her basekit, her basekit is fine... if she does have add-ons that makes her OP (which omegablink can be and recharge add-ons too) then those needs to be nerfed, not nurse herself.

  • @Biscuits said:

The counter play to nurse is actually extremely simple, there isn't really much to learn. Break line of sight every chance you get, and be unpredictable. I don't agree with your premise that people refuse to learn the counter play, because there isn't really anything to learn.

People don't like playing against her because she's in the power role. No matter how good you are at her "counter play" the reality is, if she's a good nurse, she isn't going to miss. In my opinion people don't like playing against legion for the same reason. In his power, a good legion is never going to miss you, no amount of "counter play" is going to stop you from getting hit.

With both legion and nurse, you need to trick them into messing up. All they have to do, is not mess up. That doesn't really make for engaging gameplay.

Actually... yes, she is going to miss, think about it. How to be a good nurse? Being able to read the oponent... it becomes a guessing game for her, one in which if she fails, she is punished... now, if you as a survivor are easy to read then that's on you.

  • @DoritoHead said:

Why do people always end their sentences with three periods… it’s really confusing… is it just a habit or a trend…

Well, in my case because it's a long pause before reading the next sentence... it means to say that it's not just to take a breath, it's to fully stop before resuming your reading. Anyway, many people use ellipsis just because old habits never die. My ex had that habit, but the difference is, he used it at the end, so it was like he was trying to say something but he didn't in the end.

  • She can not blink if someone is aiming a flashlight at her... she really suffers against flashlights... but normal people don't know about she being unable to blink while being beamed with a flashlight.

  • @Elan said:

There are three major issues that make Nurse too strong and uncounterable - no, line of sight is not a counterplay.

    1) Exposed perks working on blink attacks - solution: Make blinks a special attack.

    2) Aura reading - solution: Auras are no longer visible when charging blinks or being fatiqued.

    3) Recharge and range add ons - solution: range add ons increases recharge rate, recharge add ons now work only on successfull hits.

Those changes would still make her very strong and probably still top 1 killer, but will make playing against her less frustrating and maybe at least a little bit fair.

1- Exposed perks have always been strong, if she has startruck then just don't mess with her on her TR... What about that?

Blinking being special won't count as she NEEDS to blink to get an attack, the difference between other killers and her, it's that other killer's special attacks can be switched with the main attack if they want to but Nurse can not do so because she's slower than any survivor.

2- Nurse relies heavily in knowing where you're at, there are perks like Distortion who can help if you don't want your aura to be read and BUM, no need to deal with Nurse's or I'm all Ears so you make her having two less perks for the remainder of the trial and if she has BBQ... another useless perk on her basekit.

3- The recharge add-ons used to increase charge rate, not sure why did they change that so you have a point there... for the last part, I don't agree... whether it might sounds like rewarding, they will need to increase the recharge rate as it's not THAT incredible to start with, to compensate for the fact that you really need to nail it and then y'all would complain again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3149639#Comment_3149639

    Same tired old argument.

If a good Nurse catches and you have nothing to break line of sight with, you're pooched. Even if you know how to play against her.

While this can be true for more killers than just Nurse, the Nurse can consistently get that hit and get that down faster than any other killer.

First, if you're caught in a dead zone, then we can complain how Slinger or Huntress can take advantage of it, even Spirit... Second, she can only blink so far and she's going to always be in a straight line... there you have, a good counter to her blinking skills.... repeat until you have reached a place where you can break LoS... If you, got caught in a dead zone and you don't know how to survive until you're out in a "safer zone" then that's up to you being unable to learn a little strategy.

  • What about "learn to play against nurse" instead?

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/341402/did-you-know-about-this

Well the more likely scenario is the killer will hit or chase the survivor doing this off. But yeah, if the killer is afk or not around or whatever then a survivor could hypothetically do this a bunch. If it continued too long you could even record it and report it as griefing (it would have to be a really long time though probably for them to consider it bannable.)

Yes, not saying it happended to me... just saying that it crossed my mind.

  • Nah, bringing an hex perk is way to risky to get the aura reading part.

I've quit the game for weeks before because of how many cheaters there were. About when Artist went out.

Cheaters are defo way more wide spread now. If you managed to avoid them, great for you, but some of us aren't only unlucky, but legit feel demotivated to play the game with how many cheaters there are.

Well... not sure why you tagged me but... I kinda agree with you. I was saying that until recently I haven't found any cheaters but then these times, I am finding cheaters.

  • Personally... I think that solving the box when PH is busy, i.e chasing another survivor helps... because he needs to decide either to drop the chase or to chase me... otherwise, his passive is not that good... for what is worth. You seem to be doing a great job so far so mostly the problem relies in your teammates... this, happens frequently in solo Q, sadly.

Well, I have 3000 hours and, 'til recently I hadn't found cheaters, one or two maybe, but then I had encountered several using things like two exhaustion perks in the same chase or people having certain perk effect and not having it in their load-out...

Terror Radius being diffrent sizes is confusing to new players?

Well, yeah... people like standards because it's easier to get the hang of it. BHVR standarized TR precisely for that reason... consistency and balance too.

  • @Cancan71 said:

For most of the games lifespan, there has been a consistent rule with the terror radius. The size has been linked, with a few exceptions like Huntress or Nurse, to the killer's movement speed. 115% killer's get 32 meters while 110% get 24 meters. However, recently they have ignored this rule. Deathslinger got his terror radius changed to 32 meters, Sadako got hers changed to 24 meters and Wesker has the first 40 meters terror radius in the game (if you don't count Huntress).

So this has made me wonder, should the killers be given new terror radius sizes based on their power and not their movement speed?

First, the stealth killers (Pig, Wraith, Ghostface) could be given the 24 meter terror radius to better complement their powers.

110% killers with fast or ranged powers (Spirit, Trickster) could be given the 32 meter terror radius to give survivors more warning against these killers.

Finally, I have two candidates for the 40 meter terror radius; Nurse, who can travel through walls and floors in seconds, so the bigger radius can give more counterclaim against her, as well as Doctor, whose power revolves around the terror radius, giving him a bit of a buff.

Do you think the older killers should have their terror radius changed to better match their powers, and are there any killers I didn't mention that could use a change?

That might be an interesting idea but maybe a bit confusing to new people?

1 2 3 4 … 28
