I'm very much in favour of this. The only change I'd make is to add some kind of timer on the affected survivor in the bottom left(Which would be visible to everyone, including the killer). I dunno about your DS perk idea tho.
In my opinion, I shouldn't HAVE to run a perk to be able to counter tunneling. Especially since Laurie is a licensed character. We are essentially saying to new players "Oh you don't like being taken out of the game before you even really had a chance? Not to worry! Just cough up (insert your native currency here) and you can get DS! Oh you don't want to spend money to get something that should be base kit (an anti-tunnelling effect)? Well ######### you then. I hope you enjoy your 2 minute games git!
I would love to see this implemented for a weekend, just like the no bloodlust experiment. To see how it would work in an actual game. I'm sorry you got so many... Unhappy comments... People are often hostile to ideas they disagree with, even if it only pertains to a video game.
-
I agree 100% that transparency would massively help alleviate some of the frustrations with Behaviour. For example, remember when they announced that end game collapse but for the start of a match in the 4th anniversary stream? If I'm not mistaken, they haven't even mentioned that since. Did they scrap the idea and not tell us? Is it still being worked on and needs more time to be finished? Is it close to being ready and they just haven't announced it? We don't know and there's no way of knowing. It's very frustrating at times.
-
I kinda like it, I think it would make those games where you get killed a minute in because you didn't have ds or missed it, less frustrating. Reason being that I could still farm bp. This could maybe be used to even out the bp gain gap between Killer and survivor.
-
I think people tend to gravitate towards survivor because they can play with their friend(s). If they added some kind of multi-killer mode then that could fix the issue but that would probably never happen :(
-
Not even gonna bother tbh. The Killer doesn’t look very fun to play and all the perks are either garbage or extremely situational so eh.
-
Literally everyone and their mother acknowledges that it’s OP, lol.
-
Out of the perks you mentioned I’d probably say pop. Pop isn’t the greatest perk on ol’ pp head because it doesn’t trigger if you cage or perform the final judgment. I’m a sucker for surge but it doesn’t trigger on downs with his power so that’s not exactly perfect.
Personally, my builds often change but I really like corrupt on Pyramid head. It makes bigger maps more bearable and puts a bandaid on his lack of mobility. A build I’ve been playing recently is Distressing, coulrophobia, thana and bbq. Definitely not great if you wanna sweat but damn does it rake in bp like it’s easy.
-
Back during the mmr fiasco, I tried to capitalize and get my nurse adept ( dick move I know but I really wanted the platinum trophy)... Only for me to be damn near bullied by yellow ranks... Nurse is hard, man, lol.
-
In my opinion Bubba is easier and thus appears to be stronger but Billy is stronger due to him also having a very threatening chase power when used well along with solid mobility (Which is something Bubba lacks). Bubba is still the best facecamper though, I will give him that.
-
I think this video sums up nicely why rng in tile spawns spoils any possibility for a truly competitive and more importantly, fair tournament. I'm fine with some rng normally but some kind of predetermined map seed or something needs to be available for people looking to set up dbd tournaments.

Someone bumped it recently.
Ah I see. Well it couldn't hurt to revive the poll I suppose.

Huh, why'd this months old post pop up for me? Either way, while I'm here. I personally prefer the live version's chase music. It's more intense and it makes me really feel like I'm the final boss in a dark souls game or something, lol. It may not be very silent hill like, I wouldn't know as I'm too much of a wimp to play an actual horror game, but I really like the chase music. I do like the ptb one too though.
Perhaps as a compromise the Devs could add an option to choose if you want to have the ptb or live version? I certainly wouldn't mind the variety. Though I like the chase music a lot, hearing the same song on repeat for hours and hours can get a bit repetitive to be honest (I'm a bit of a Pyramid head main myself, lol).
-
Same here on PS4. Says they updated the privacy policy but I can’t actually see what they changed.
-
I just dislike the graphic updates because at least on PS4, the new grass is awful. If you aren’t using dark traps then those creative traps I liked on Trapper aren’t viable anymore because they’re so easy to see. This means I’m forced to just put down super basic pallet traps and window traps. BOOORING.
-
I didn’t bother. I didn’t particularly want it and I didn’t want to take the charm when other people really wanted it. Even if I did want it, it would have been very hard to get because I’m on PS4.
-
I personally wish you could simply pick for which survivor/killer the daily would be about. I don’t wanna play Pig, dammit! Lol.
-
I mean if they somehow managed to put solo and swf on an equal playing field then a nerf to swf would be kind of unnecessary but I get what you mean. I think this would be a great thing to test. Maybe they could add a ping system like rainbow six siege or apex.
-
This is two perks but... I really enjoy the Up the ante, slippery meat combo. It’s surprisingly consistent, even without luck offerings. Perhaps I’m just lucky but I’ve never hit stage 2 trying to kobe with this combo. I know that I should just run deliverance for kobes but damn does it feel good to kobe without any prerequisites. Up the ante gives bonus luck to the team as a whole btw so your up the ante could mean the difference between your teammates successfully kobe’ing or hitting stage 2.
-
Deathslinger. His perks kinda suck and I don't enjoy his power much. Next would be Ash lol.

It takes no time to start up a good PC either.
The devs have mentioned before that the PC playerbase was the majority.
When did they say that? A clip or screenshot would be nice so I know you aren't just talking out your ass. Especially since you're arguing that the PC players are somehow a higher priority.
-
I only lobby dodge if theres a key or a mori in the offering screen. Otherwise I stick it out. 4 blendies with similar names? Sure, I'll play, lol.

PC players make up most the player base. We shouldn't be negatively affected by console player kids because they made a poor system choice, yet the devs are choosing consoles over PC.
You do realise that a good pc is about double the price of a console right? For a lot of people that's a no go. Plus there's also simply the simplicity of use. You just boot up the console and play. I can start up the game and be in a match in 5 minutes if the matchmaking is quick. I don't know if you're doing this intentionally but you're really coming off like that old rich person stereotype. 'Oh look at the little peasants with their consoles. Aw how quaint.' Lol.
Do you have any stats to back up the whole PC makes up for the majority of the playerbase statement? Or is that just a completely unsubstantiated claim
-
If they managed to balance it well then I am absolutely for ds being base kit. Thing is that if they balanced ds so that its only for anti tunnelling then the perk would be really bad I think. If the killer doesn’t tunnel then you’ve just wasted a perk slot. Whereas if it were base kit then you wouldn’t have to use a perk to y’know, play the game without being killed 2 minutes in. Plus I personally think that a bandaid fix to tunnelling in the form of a perk is especially insulting considering that it’s hidden behind an unavoidable paywall (Laurie is licensed). Sure there’s the shrine but there’s no guarantee you’ll ever get the perk from there in a timely manner.

Only reason to play anything is to win. otherwise every game should just be a draw then I'm sure no1 would play. Does any1 truly go out buy a game and go I don't want to win I'm just buying it because it will be fun to never win sadly that is what losers always say it's about having fun and taking part pfff there only saying that as they have a win rate of 1% winners have best fun when they win simple enough. So what if a guy camps slugs or tunnels or survivor do gens in no time or loop for days that's how they have fun that's how they have fun just because u don't enjoy the match doesn't mean they don't. that's problem with gamers these days always feel like there owed some free pass because they playing poor or that simply the opponent is better should be less moaning about getting wooped and try get better but thought u said it about having fun well sadly other players don't play for there opponents to have fun they play to enjoy it so if that's how someone plays that's what they enjoy even if they disagree with the tactic they use to win there enjoyment comes from the win
Personally I see a games main objective as being fun first with winning being a side objective. That's not to say that I'm going to hinder my team as survivor just searching cheats and doing dull totems. I more mean that I'm not going to actively hinder the enjoyment of others just so that I can get a win. In a MULTIPLAYER game there is a social responsibility to make sure the game was enjoyable for everyone. Thing is, people tend to be very selfish a lot of the time, especially thanks to the anonymity of the internet. They just do their thing and everyone else can go ######### themselves with a rusty spoon. That's not the right attitude to have I think, on the other end of that screen is a person who has feelings too y'know?

You know why?
Because if you don't sweat, and you play for fun. You just get tbagged at the gates. Called a baby killer, gg ez...etc.
Toxic survivors often created try hard killers.
So why play chill?
I mean part of playing chill is understanding that in the end it does not matter if you win or lose. A month from now you're probably not going to remember that match where you effortlessly stomped the survivors but you might remember a match where you didn't do so hot but had a lot of fun. Toxic people will always be an issue, no matter the game. If you were feeling particularly calm you could try and ask them how they were doing. It's possible that they simply had a bad day and want to vent by pissing others off in a game. Wouldn't work if they're crossplay and it probably wouldn't do anything but showing compassion instead of anger is always the best move I think. Playing chill can help create a more care-free attitude to the game, yeah you'll win less but it's important to remember that winning isn't everything.

The problem with this game is that nobody, community or developer, can decide ######### they want out of it. Do they want an ultra competitive, MLG sweatfest where people are hyper optimal, no non-sense gods that only do what's necessary to push the objective? Or do they want a casual experience where '######### happens'. Problem is, you combine two different groups of people looking for entirely opposite experiences, you're gonna get the state DBD is in as an end result.
Yeah I get that. The community is super split on this. For example Otz recently made a survivor guide video and while I respect him immensely, his video basically boiled down to split up, do gens at all times. No fun allowed. I understand that’s the optimal play but a more casual player like me mightn’t understand this no nonsense attitude to something that’s supposed to be fun. I understand now that my language was a bit inflammatory but I made the post because I just couldn’t really understand the mindset where winning is prioritised over a fun match.
-
Money. If they delay it then that delays the profits from the chapter which would probably piss off the people at the top in Behaviour. What they’re doing is a bit scummy but I have a feeling it’s not the Dev’s choice.
-
Wow I was not expecting this many responses. Please allow me some time to respond to you all. I’m busy rn.

This post is really something. I mean wow, I've never seen a more elitist thing said in my entire life, lol. I can see why most of the comments are critical of your post.

I personally think some sort of ping system would be better. For example, by pressing a button you could ping a gen and that gen would appear in blue or something for a few seconds. If the gen was just started it can be a faint blue and when it's nearly done it can be dark blue. Something like that.

The color choices for the shirts just seem...odd.
It really seems to me like the store wasn't actually ready to be put up publicly but was rushed, for whatever reason. No ability to change colours on a piece of clothing, poor quality images that probably don't look much like the real thing. It's quite odd, it's a shame really. I want to buy their merch but the options they provide are lackluster in my opinion.
-
You could probably get dbd merch elsewhere but it probably wouldn't be official merch. I agree though, I've been very disappointed with the merch store so far. For one the designs are oddly placed, for example why is the pattern on the trapper hoodie on the back? The lack of colour options sucks too, before they changed the merch store a few months ago I really wanted a trapper shirt they had, but now it's gone from black in the old store to creme in the newer one. There's no way to change the colour either, very disappointing :(

I know, I saw that they want to include only newer games like the new AC and stuff.
But still, if Ubisoft can implement cross-progression on all consoles, it shouldn't be a problem for BHVR, am I right?
No you're right, at this point it's probably just sony and Microsoft being stubborn. They're probably afraid that they'll lose money or something.
-
@FoggyWeather_ said:
Currently, they're working on Cross-Progression between Switch and PC/Stadia if I remember correctly.
Some people said, it will most likely not be available for XBOX and PS4, BUT I read last week, that UBISOFT is working on a new thing (that will overwrite U-Play) and they're promising Cross-Progression between all Platforms.
So I say it's not impossible and that the Devs might be currently working on it.
That cross progession thing from ubi isn’t universal tho...
*cries in For Honor not getting true crossplay or cross progression :’( *

It always sucks for your team of fellow solo que players to be doing really well only for the killer to make an undeserved comeback because of a Mori :( I’ve never had a positive experience with moris to be honest. When using them as Killer, it makes the game into easy mode and as survivor the game suddenly becomes extremely difficult and unfun. In my opinion they should just make yellow moris base kit and remove the green and red one from the game. That way, they can keep the mori animations in the game and make being mori’d a much less aggravating experience. As Killer that means I can see the mori animations without feeling the guilt of “I’m actively ruining this match by doing this” because I’d have already won. Having moris being like more of a thing you do for style points seems more fair to me but that’s just my 2 cents.

100% optional, you have another Killer-route right above it (and the Survivor-route as well).
Thanks for the info, I’m studying atm and can’t play the game. I guess it’s not so bad then. I mean it’s still kinda dumb that I either have to farm or throw the game to just go for chainsaws all game to get this. It can be pretty hard to get the rift finished on time unless you play the game 24/7 so potentially missing out on challenges really sucks but oh well. It’s not the end of the world, lol.
-
I haven’t actually seen the new tome level yet. Is this a mandatory challenge? I.e. one that has to be completed. Or is it optional? I mean either way I agree, it’s insanely stupid. I’m not nearly good enough at billy to get 7 chainsaw hits in a single match, maybe 4-5 but not 7.
-
It’s decent if you’re running a dedicated healing build. On its own it’s actually a hindrance if anything so I wouldn’t run it by itself.
-
What other reason would I play the game? I enjoy this game, warts and all. No one is obligated to play the game, lol. It’s a game, you play games for fun, not having fun? Stop playing the game, pretty simple.
-
I agree 100%, they should add the changes and then they can get feedback on it. If it’s put into the ptb then the game will be hell for a solid 3-4 weeks like you said.
-
All of them at the same time.
-
That sounds cool but it probably wouldn’t happen I’m afraid. The devs have stated in the past that they want to focus on the main game i.e. No new game modes. They’ve specifically stated that a kill with friends type of thing wouldn’t be happening for the foreseeable future. If I’m not mistaken it wasn’t a hard no but more of a ‘not right now’ type of thing. It’d be cool but don’t get your hopes up. Even if it were to happen, it might not come for many months, perhaps even many years.
-
On because I don’t really give a damn about the limitations of the console hardware. Besides, in my experience, both console and PC are usually relatively equal in skill, I know that might seem like blasphemy to any PC Master race peeps (if they even still exist) but yeah that’s how I see it.

It's the same bug of the chainsaw... I know it goes away if you tap it, but doing that in chase cost you time... so it IS a big deal.
It costs like half a second. You’re playing a killer with one of the strongest anti-loop abilities in the game (*when used well*) you can probably afford to just tap the button and continue on with the chase, lol. The sound bug for Leatherface back then was a bigger deal because pre rework Leatherface sucked. I’m not saying that the bug is a complete non issue, we shouldn’t have to deal with irritating sound bugs like that. I’m just saying that for ol’ Pp head it’s not really a big deal unless you’re really struggling with his power.

We all know how killer games go. Find your first survivor, he runs in circles for 3 minutes, all the gens get done and they escape with Adrenaline/BT/DS/DH. This has become so bad that there are only 2 killers (Sally and Rin) that can consistently perform well in Red Ranks if they want to double pip and retain their Rank 1. Even worse - Rin was broken last update so unless you were Nurse your pip was a heavily weighted coin toss. Some killers such as Caleb and Triangle Daddy can sometimes beat a strong Red Rank SWF, but can't compete if they use the Genrush Strategy.
This is why I think the game should try and cut down on this stupid running in circles strategy to win every game without thinking. Instead, we should focus on the Stealth aspect of the game. I think most survivors (who aren't pathetic bullies) can agree that the suspense of a killer almost finding you in a hiding spot is far more thrilling than running around a pallet 10 times rinse repeat. The fact that there are 10+ pallets which can each last from 30 seconds to a few minutes (Bloodlust takes way too long to kick in) pushes the "chase killer only" meta that has plagued so many players into only playing Rin Sally and sometimes Caleb.
We want to play Amanda and sneak up on survivors.
We want to play Anna and line up a sweet hatchet on a Zarina who didn't quite hide well enough.
We want to play Lisa and scare survivors with our Phantasms.
But we can't - because the meta right now is looping, and any killer that doesn't excel there isn't viable.
No thanks, I don't play DBD for hide and seek. I play it to have chases. If you want to reinvent the way chases work to shake things up and make things more interesting then that's cool. However I'm very much against turning the game into immersion simulator. I don't think going in that direction would be healthy for the game. I can't speak for others, but me personally, I would probably quit if the game went down the path you suggested. I respect your opinion but I think you're wrong on this one.

Tunneling is the smart play since you want someone out the game asap. Camping can be the right call against certain teams and a horrible call against others. So no I don't see a problem with the killer doing their objective the same way I don't see a problem with survivors doing theirs and tunneling gens. Do you also have a problem with survivors doing a gen till completion?
The only problem I see is with the game design that encourages these tactics, the bugs, and the balance of the game. Those weren't an option. I blame the game not the players.
It doesn't bother me when its done to me except for the fact I have to slam my button/keys for the struggle phase.
The issue is that the killer's objective is to take out another player and considering that there is no ability to respawn in this game, death is permanent. As a result, tunneling someone out of the game so that they die faster is actively obstructing their ability to play the game. No one wants to que up for a match, load in and then die two minutes into the match starting because the killer didn't like you in particular. For the record, I do find swf groups who run 4 toolboxes with prove thyself and adrenaline to be a bit problematic because unless the killer sweats themselves a river, it's pretty hard to even get a 2k against that. Good luck beating that if you're just playing to have a chilled game. At the end of the day, we're all in this to have fun. Ruining someone else's experience in a multiplayer game, just so that you can win in a videogame is scummy in my opinion but hey, no one's perfect. Besides, whether you win or lose in a game is not going to matter in a weeks time.
-

I don't know if it is fun to face or not, but now with the sound bug pyramid head currently has, it's definitely not fun to use it. Having that grinding deafening sound all the time drilling your ears..... But hey! We have a new killer!! WIth bugs of its own!!
You can actually cancel out the bug by simply tapping the power button. You don’t even have to drag the sword, simply tapping the button is all it takes. It’s not really that big of a deal.
-
I shouldn’t have to run a perk from a LICENSED CHARACTER to avoid being denied the chance to play the game. Not to mention that DS isn’t even really a good counter to tunnelling if the killer just focuses you down but that’s kinda beside the point. Tunnelling is problematic for the same reason that face camping is problematic, that is to say, there is no counterplay for the one being tunnelled/camped. It’s guaranteed death and there’s nothing you can do to save yourself. The just do gens argument doesn’t apply to the one who died to tunnelling. Admittedly, if you’re a good player AND the killer is a bit dumb AND you’re in a strong area of the map then you MIGHT be able to escape. That’s entirely dependent on luck though. After all, it doesn’t matter how good you are if you’re stuck in a deadzone.
