I think it’s really whiny and annoying, lol.

He can do the same things as before, just slightly tweaked. I don't see a difference in the fun/unfun factor because he's essentially the same killer, even a little buffed actually.
It’s much harder to force the lose/lose situation all the time now though, right?
-
Plague. People complained about Pyramid head forcing lose/lose situations and yet Plague is fine? If you don’t cleanse? Then you’re perma injured with no way to bypass the broken state. If you do cleanse? Then you risk giving the Plauge one of the most broken chase abilities in the game. Yes you can intentionally cleanse in the corner of the map but that wastes a lot of your time going out of your way to get there and she can just immediately reinfect you if you’re found again.
The main reason I dislike her though is that she hard counters anything to do with healing and altruism which is frustrating because most of my favourite builds have to do with altruism.

I noticed this while playing Pyramid head earlier. Hope it stays as it's a great change!

Unbreakable, no mither, a teamate healing you damn its so hard comming up with solution for your problem
A teammate healing you? I don't exactly see how they could do that if the killer is hovering over the slug waiting out DS but alright. Unbreakable wouldn't help become the killer would immediately down you again, I'm not even going to address the no mither thing because that perk is more of a hindrance then an actual useful perk.
Let's assume for a second that these perks did counter camping and tunnelling, so? In my opinion, I shouldn't HAVE to run a perk or perks to counter something that essentially holds my ability to play the game hostage. But hey, what do I know?
EDIT: Ah ffs I'm after responding to a comment that's months old. Why the hell did this post show up at the top of the discussions list? Now I look like a right ol' idiot, lol.
-
Pyramid head's chase music is my favourite. Though I also really like Oni's (killers pov version).
-
Ash 100%
○ Flip flop is ok in an anti-slugging build but if you don't get slugged then then the perk as well as the build is just completely useless.
○ Buckle up is literally useless, even in the situations where it should be providing value, it doesn't really do much of anything. We're gonna live forever is a strictly better version of this perk thanks to the recent buff it recieved. Extra bp is always nice too.
○ Mettle of man requires a ton of set up to even work and even when it does work it's rarely ever super impactful. Not AWFUL but definitely not good, lol.
A lot of people are saying Ace and as an Ace main myself I must say that while not great his perks at least have niche use lol. Ash's perks are just straight up terrible most of the time whereas with the right build you can get pretty consistent value out of open handed and ace in the hole (not these two together obviously, they don't have any synergy lol)
-
A survivor could literally just be crouched in a corner all game and still escape if they get lucky with the hatch spawn which is insanely stupid in my opinion but it's not the end of the world. The thing that just makes me kinda dislike the hatch is I could literally know where the hatch is and go over there as the second last survivor is being sacrificed. Only to see that the last survivor is there already, no biggie, I can just go there and as the power role I should be able to close it before they can escape right? WRONG. Doesn't matter how much I spam the close hatch button, they'll still escape right in my face which is one of the worst things to experience in this game in my opinion. Not the end of the world, I still got my 3K, but I was denied the 4K through no fault of my own. Just a bit annoying, I guess. If there was less rng to the hatch and it depended on how the last survivor performed then that would be neat, dunno how that would work though.
-
I'm not really that surprised. The difference between console generations is less significant now. Yeah PS5 IS an improvement over PS4, but from what I've seen it's not as significant as previous generations. If someone showed me gameplay of a PS5 game without any prior context and told me it was ps4 then I would probably believe them, lol.

Not too long ago in another discussion, I posted how much I love Pyramid Head's sword-dragging audio bug, and how I hoped the survivors could hear it too.
That said, y'all know how you can hear the huntress humming before you actually enter her terror radius, right?
Imagine that...but the sound of Pyramid Head's sword dragging along.
Super spooky.
I would probably just drop pyramid head entirely if the sound bug was turned into a sort of huntress lullaby. I DESPISE the sound bug. It sounds like nails on a chalkboard, really hurts my ears after a while. Not to mention that based on how you worded it that would be a minor nerf of sorts? Plus if survivors could hear it then they might just start DCing purely because of that. I know I would. To each their own though, lol

Survivor? I dunno maybe like 2/10?
killer? Oh I’m like a solid... 5... maybe a 6 on a good day... Don’t judge me, I’m just bad is all!
-
I can only think of a single example where I may have seen a hacker ( I’m on ps4 but i always have crossplay on for better matchmaking) i was facing a Zarina who seemed unnaturally fast. Perhaps it was a very subtle speed hack or perhaps the running animation was simply being a bit janky due to lag. It took me a while to catch them but eventually I was able to down them by landing a shot through a wall ( i was playing pyramid head) and they instantly DC’d, lol. They seemed hella sus with the running animation but I’m not 100% sure it was hacks (they had the crossplay icon btw). Other then that though never seen hacking, unless it was so subtle that I didn’t notice.

As a pig player and someone who plays both Survivor and Killer....pigs ain't that bad. I play Pig ridiculously casually. I mess around, try to get them to boop the snoot, maybe run some fun mind games. If I'm really trying to win, I don't even sweat, I just stealth a lot and patrol Jigsaw boxes a ton.
Posts like that are idiotic. Imo every killer is fun to play against, as long as the Killer isn't camping, tunneling, or being annoying (like teabagging Ghostfaces.)
So Pyramid head before his rework was fun to go against? How about Deathslinger? The issue inherent in your statement at the end there is you assume that every single killer is intrinsically well designed and more importantly FUN for both sides but here's the problem. That's not the case. In my opinion it's not fun to be driven off a gen by a legion's deep wounds only for him to run off leaving you to mend so that you can then go back to your oh so exhilarating gen. Fun is extremely subjective so you stating your it's fun as long as they don't intentionally play scummy rule and acting like that's universal is a bit silly. I'm not advocating for dcs myself, I personally think people should stick it out, purely for the sake of other's fun. In saying that, I don't personally hate people for leaving against a poorly designed killer like slinger or legion but I wouldn't recommend leaving myself. I'm not a huge fan of pig myself truthfully because her party hats basically put the game on hold. Not to mention that you're a free down if the pig decides to patrol the boxes because there's little time to heal if you get bad rng on the boxes (I dunno why but I almost always have to search at least 3-4 boxes which gives the killer a massive amount of essentially free map pressure). I sure do love being downed by a pig who just focuses people with hats, lol. Lots of fun for all! Anyhow, disregarding all this antagonism, it's only a game at the end of the day, peace and I hope you all have fantastic days!

It's not complacency. It's understanding. I understand that the game is very complicated. There are a lot of things going on here that can't be addressed all at once. There is only so much a human can do in a day. Add on covid challenges and that makes things take even longer. This is a professional game company that has everything mapped out. There is a schedule for fixing things. In the end after everything I have said, it is just a game. It should be treated as such. I have been playing this game since beta and the amount of improvements and fixes they have done to this game is astounding to me.
Nothing is perfect. I have found flaws in the best games by the best companies. Stop demanding perfection and just enjoy what you have. You will have a happier life if you let go of that baggage you carry.
My issue is that Behaviour seem to have a policy of pushing out patches at a break neck pace, with these patches being riddled with bugs and fixing the bugs later. Rather then doing the responsible thing and testing for as many bugs as they can so that the patch is actually ready to be released. Behaviour have shown that they can release things smoothly without many bugs e.g. Endgame collapse or crossplay. IThese things released very smoothly with little to no bugs if I remember correctly. I see that and then I look at the game now and I feel immeasurably disappointed because I KNOW they can do better but aren’t. I understand that these were important to the game and as such behaviour probably dedicated more time to these then usual. Thing is, patches should have a decent amount of polish too, right? I can’t see behind the scenes. Maybe Covid has damaged their ability to test for bugs somehow, I wouldn’t know if that were the case. It definitely didn’t damage their ability to release new content constantly but hey, what do I know? I’m not asking for perfection, bugs WILL slip through occasionally, even games with a lot of polish have bugs. That’s unavoidable. However, the amount of bugs that are being introduced with each patch is staggering. New bugs are being added before they can even fix the old ones. The game may as well be coded on a potato with how bad the code seemingly is. I mean, oftentimes something that isn’t even touched by the patch somehow gets bugged. How did this bug with doctor’s chase music come about? Last I checked they haven’t changed doc in a while, lol. Oh well.

its just a bug, why are you so upset?
FAIR WARNING: THIS IS A RANT. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ A RANT THEN IGNORE THIS.
'Just a bug' lol. We're so desensitized to bugs being introduced with each and every patch that we don't even care anymore. The severe lack of polish that this game has is just ignored on the daily because there's nothing else that can really satisfy that dbd itch. Anyhow, the lack of a unique terror radius could actually make a difference in terms of gameplay. It could mean the difference between you successfully dodging a static blast or getting found 10 seconds in. Plus, like the op, I enjoy Doctor's chase music so it being bugged is upsetting. At the end of the day, the bug isn't too bad (unlike the plethora of other bugs e.g. Pyramid head's soundbug that makes me not even want to play my favourite killer) but that doesn't mean that the op doesn't have the right to be annoyed. If I'm not mistaken, Behaviour is a multi-million dollar company. The least they could do is actually test for bugs. I mean c'mon, that horrendous fps bug that us PS4 players suffered through for about a week could've been found and resolved BEFORE the mid chapter went live if they simply booted up a copy of dbd with the patch version on a PS4 and realised there was an issue. I could be wrong but it seems to me like they just didn't check or worse, knew about it and still pushed out the mid-chapter on schedule. Doing so with full knowledge that it would ruin the game for a sub-section of the community.
Personally I think complacency is the reason why Behaviour gets away with this. Imagine if Ubisoft broke the game every time they released a new patch in siege or for honor. People would throw a fit, but because this is a smaller company, they're allowed to wreck the game with each and every patch. Let's just ignore the fact that games with even fewer devs have 10 times the amount of polish that dbd has i.e. Their games actually work as intended most of the time with few bugs.
Apologies for the long rant but complacency towards the constant introduction of numerous new bugs is the reason Behaviour keep pushing out patchs filled with more new bugs then bug fixes, lol. If you got this far then I'm impressed, have a nice day and be safe out there.
-
Trail of torment. This perk alone has given me so many free hits. A solid runner-up would be fire up because I like the idea of gradually becoming stronger as the survivors complete their objectives. Rarely ever impactful but I enjoy it. Especially when paired with brutal strength lol.

Wait just make it that the killers have keys that will drop (one at a time) if they are stunned a certain number of times. It will allow one survivor to escape through the many hatches around and can be stolen by the killers, killer must down to get the key and hook the survivor to get sacrifice points. The survivors objective is get into a chase and get a key, help other survivors get keys, locate hatches, and escape without dying. The survivors get more points if more people escape and the killers gets more points for sacrifices. To prevent mass exodus, make that one hatch for one survivor or a specific key goes to a specific hatch (it’s will be shown when nearby it). Killers can be provided portals and various traps outside their original power that can slow down survivors, force them to lose their keys, or force them out so that they cannot save or help others. Plus to prevent people from hoarding keys, the aura of dropped keys are shown to the killer to pick up and a survivor can only hold one key. Survivors can also do the same stuff and regular matches: heal, unhook, cleanse, unlock chests, interact with killer belongings, and “loop”. This likely too much though.
If implemented well I could actually see that as being a pretty solid mode. It might need some ironing out to make it as balanced as possible but otherwise that could be amazing. You guys are much better at thinking up new modes then i am, lol.
@MeltingPenguins said:
The idea(s) have been brought up before, and were usually bashed down because while they lament about how the game's objectives are so boring, people are also unwilling to try anything new, usually citing that the devs would mess it up anyway.
It's mostly cause people are dead-set on the idea that chases and looping are the most fun, and will claim any mode that goes in any way against that is doomed or 'doesn't fit the genre'.
Your ideas are good, but this community is ridiculous about this kinda stuff. (guess they are mortally scared of not being able to bash the devs further should things go right)
Maybe so but I'm of the opinion that this game really needs a solid new game mode to keep things fresh. Survivor is so boring in my opinion simply because their main objective doesn't really enable interaction with the Killer. Defending gens as killer is boring too, I just wanna chase and hook people, man.
While I understand that some people enjoy being immersed that doesn't exactly make for fun gameplay, for either side. The killer gets robbed of the chance to chase and the survivor didn't take chase so they're just gonna do more gens, fun. Plus there's no real explanation in the lore as to why all of these people are just able to fix gens without any prior experience (If I'm not mistaken its stated in the lore that the survivor's memory of each trial is wiped, regardless of if they survived or were sacrificed) but that's more of just a minor nitpick lol.
-
I like your idea but I’m not necessarily sure if it would make for fun gameplay. Based on the way you described it, it would be a hide and seek type of mode? That seems interesting but the issue is that survivors would probably just all play claudette with dark clothing and hide to the point where games could be 30+ mins. I would probably try this out a few times and then immediately go back to normal old dbd. If your intentions behind this idea is different to hide and seek then I’d appreciate it if you clarified what you want this mode to be about. I for one have thought up a similar idea somewhat, except there would be 4 killers, 8+ survivors and the mode would be all about incentivising chases. I didn’t think about the idea of having multiple interconnected maps though. I really like that idea as it’s pretty unique.
-
A new gamemode with multiple killers and survivors and a new objective instead of gens. Would literally never happen as the devs have stated a few months ago that a multiple killer mode would not happen, at least not for the foreseeable future, because they wanted to focus on the main game. So unfortunately we're going to be stuck with our 1 game mode for many months or even years to come (Ik that Technically killer and survivor are different game modes but the gameplay loop is always the same. As killer you kill people and protect your precious gens and as survivor your primary goal is always to do gens). Even if they eventually added a multiple killer mode in a few thousand years, gens would probably still be the primary objective because apparently holding M1 for 80 seconds is too important to be removed or reworked.
-
Unfortunately there is little to work towards so it's less of an "event" and more just the same old dbd with a Halloween esque coat of paint. Very disappointing.
-
Platform: PS4
Yeah I've had this in both matches that I've played as Pyramid head. So annoying as it really sounds like nails on a chalkboard lol. It's tolerable when only heard using his power but having it become a constant annoyance honestly makes me not want to play Pyramid head.
-
Depends, if it was a fun game and the survivors were good sports then I don’t mind TOO much. A loss always stings of course but I only get genuinely angry if I feel like I was robbed of a win i.e. being DS’d when not even tunnelling, people abusing bt to bodyblock when I’m actively trying NOT to tunnel, object of obsession :’(.
-
No, you WILL be tunnelled/camped if you do. Solo or not. The killer can never know if they’re facing a swf or not unless they’re literally facing clan kids or something lol. So yeah most people just assume you’re in a swf if you have object and will just give you a hard time. Plus it’s very unpleasant to face object if they’re playing trap daddy but that’s beside the point.
-
Huh, so I guess it has nothing to do with pyramid head as this is experienced regardless of if you play survivor or killer. That should be useful info IF this gets seen. Thanks!

I really liked the 2018 Hallowed Blight event. I thought it was fun.
Last year I was disappointed, the Tome challenges and pumpkin gens/hooks didn't make up for the lack of awesome pustula plants, but at least we could earn the serum through the Rift. It wasn't perfect, it wasn't nearly as fun as the previous year, but at least there was a goal to work towards.
There's nothing this year. Nothing fun. No goal to work towards. It's just... empty. Absolutely empty.
Huh, from what I heard the first iteration of the event was deeply flawed because people would just ignore gens to harvest the flowers leading to killers easily 4K'ing every game. Truthfully I had taken a break from the game when the first Halloween event was under way so perhaps it's flaws were exaggerated. I remember really enjoying last year's one because there was no intrusive new objective, you just played the game and as long as you were completing the rift you'd get the skins no problem. The double bp meant that I was basically swimming in bloodpoints which was great. I hear we're getting double bp this year too but it's a week after the event's start so it seems like more of a hasty apology for the garbage event rather then a genuine sign of good will.

Exactly.
Nobody is crazy enough to stay injured if the remaining gens are in pallet dead zones for example. If they can heal or be healed, they will. Denying survivors that for 80 seconds here and there can lead to very quick downs.
On paper it sounds great but most maps don’t really have gens in total deadzones right? Even if you get a free down because someone was working on a gen in a deadzone doesn’t mean that forced penance is suddenly a really good perk. Unfortunately I think forced penance is gonna remain in the ‘ok but not good enough to compete with better perks’ pile of perks. I’m glad you’re having fun with it but unless your entire build is based around forcing protection hits, I don’t really understand how you’re consistently activating forced penance. If you don’t mind me asking, do you tend to play in a territorial manner around hooks? Otherwise I don’t understand where all these protection hits are coming from. Maybe it’s just because wglf has recently received a buff so people are trying it out thereby leading to more protection hits then usual? I’m not saying forced penance is bad btw, just that I think you might be exaggerating it’s strength a little bit. I for one do love the perk changes this mid chapter for the most part. Trail of torment is quickly becoming one of my favourites lol.

I'm personally really enjoying Pyramid head, I quite enjoy going for silly shots because when they work it feels great lol. Trapper and Doc are fun too but Trapper dies to a good object user and Doc feels useless at some loops unless your timing is perfect so eh.

Fingers crossed we can get something via the event itself with no paywall gives everyone something to play for aswell then the normal gen grind
Yeah, it’d be foolish of behaviour to lock them behind a paywall. A lot of people would be very upset which won’t bode well for cosmetic sales I’d imagine. Content creators will still buy them probably but the average player probably wouldn’t.
-
If the rumours are false and we can get two free halloween sets like last year then I’m super excited. If they aren’t giving free skins this year then there’s no reason to play the event for me so I’ll probably play other games until more new stuff comes. The killer add on seems cool but it’s only usable during the event and I mainly play killer so there’s literally no reason to grind the event for me if there’s no free skins unfortunately.
-
Most frustrating experience for me would probably be facing an extremely obnoxious object user when I was playing Trapper. They just kept clicking their flashlight constantly and thanks to very favorable RNG I basically couldn't catch them. (Fun bus which was next to a jungle gym which was next to shack so very little I could do) Of course due to object, basically every trap I'd set would be disarmed so I was essentially an M1 killer. The cherry on top was of course that at least two other survivors were epic, super funny head on players. So yeah even when I'd get close to catch someone that down is just denied by some absolute comedian in the locker. The Object user then proceeded to tell me that he was solo and just used object for chases but I've seen the videos he's posted in the past and he's played with one of the head on players before so I think he lied lol. Btw, he uploaded the game with obnoxious music over it basically just stroking his own ego, throwing shade at me when replying to comments as well lol. Playing against object is a miserable experience for any killer really but oh well, I doubt I'll see a rework to it because fixing unfun stuff is less important then pumping out more cosmetics and dlc with balance stuff being sprinkled in occasionally. Anyhow, dumb rant over. If you read to the end of this sh*t then you must be real bored, stranger. Lol. Hope you have a lovely day!
-
I honestly don’t blame people for DCing against a mori. Games with a mori are rarely ever fun. I had a solo que game today where I was playing against a wraith with an ebony mori and even though three gens popped before he even got a single down he still made a comeback because of course he hard tunnelled my teammate off hook thanks to the mori and was able to win because he also hard tunnelled the next person he caught. Not much me and the David could do, even if we were at 1 gen at that point. What’s more the mother f**ker actually had the audacity to slug for the 4K, absolutely swimming in sweat whilst doing so I imagine lol. People who use moris tend to play in a very distasteful manner so it’s no surprise really that moris and the people who use them are so deeply loathed by most people.
-
Depends, if it’s just a few friends who just want to relax, have fun and don’t want to sweat then I’m more then happy to face them. As a matter of fact, some of my most fun killer matches ever were against survivors who I suspect were in swfs. However, swfs who take the game super seriously and pop 10 million gens before you even think about downing a survivor is unfun as hell but so rare in my experience that it’s a non issue really. The main issue with swfs for me is that people seem to be far more likely to behave in a rather... Unpleasant way when playing with friends. Almost as if empathy for the other side goes out the window because you and your super hilarious buddy’s have one or more object of obsession and all click flashlights if the killer even thinks about making a mistake. At the end of the day though, I’m more then happy to play against a swf as long as they’re not complete and total gits lol.

The only problem is you're trying to set up hidden traps. Corrupt pushes them toward you not exactly a good idea. I mainly use pop or ruin + surge for gen slow down.
Depends on the survivor spawns and gen spawns. I’ve played dozens of Trapper games with corrupt and I’ve only had the traps I set at the start be seen in a small handful of games. Generally speaking I set up a trap or two and then start chasing in the hopes that my traps will end a chase in the mid- late game fast (Which they typically do if I set up at a strong tile because survivors will see the loop and assume it’s safe). I can understand however that corrupt probably is a bad choice if you prefer the playstyle of really focusing on the set up and giving up multiple gens so that you can hopefully snowball later. That playstyle is extremely risky though so I don’t enjoy playing that way myself. I personally don’t like pop on Trapper because having to take time kicking gens wastes time that you could be spending setting traps or chasing survivors other then the one you just hooked. When I’m not using my snowballing build, I probably use surge, ruin, corrupt and then something else, typically stbfl because I really like the perk lol. Surge is definitely underrated in my opinion but that’s beside the point.
-
Trapper is stronger in my opinion. The main issue with him is that if you set up poorly then you’re essentially an m1 killer. You can deny pallets mid chase with your traps which is nice but if they’re in a swf then that’s gonna get disarmed real fast. However, Trapper with Corrupt is millions of times stronger then a trapper without corrupt. With Corrupt you can actually set up two or three traps and lose almost no gen time which is absolutely fantastic. I found a lot of success using Save the best for last with infectious in order to snowball like it’s my job along with the aforementioned corrupt and noed as backup (Please don’t perk shame me, I’m bad). I’ll concede that Trapper without add-ons makes add-onless Clown look OP though lol.
-
Seems like a good idea for the most part but I think instead of replacing struggling with skill checks, it should probably just be automatic because otherwise they could just intentionally fail skill checks to die anyway right?
-
- Trapper: I like playing him but I really hate playing against him. It’s not very fun to just immediately go down because the killer happened to set up at the tile you are looping at. Plus, in my experience, Trappers often camp and tunnel because his play style encourages very territorial gameplay. Same reasons I dislike Hag
- Plauge: I like using off meta builds, especially builds dedicated to altruism and healing so Plauge hard countering my entire build by simply existing is very frustrating lol.
- Ghostface and to an extent myers but mainly Gf because being downed due to them 99’ing their stalk isn’t very fun in my opinion. Plus, you know, you can literally stare directly at a ghostface in the open with nothing covering him and still not reveal him but I think someone already mentioned that lol. Also, for some reason, almost every Ghostface I come across loves to tunnel. Not really a problem with the character, just a weird thing I noticed.
dishonourable mentions: Pp head because you can easily tunnel with zero consequence if the survivor is tormented. Freddy because if they stack a crap ton of slowdown then it can take a millennia just to do one gen which is very very boring. Spirit for obvious reasons lol.

Second Wind does work with Deliverance. It just heals you after the broken status wears off
Do you mean that the heal happens immediately after you’re no longer broken? Or do you mean that one must wait a further 30 seconds after the full minute from deliverance?
Thanks for all the fast responses by the way everyone. I didn’t expect this post to be seen that fast!

If you get a killer who has nothing that would make you scream then it's basically a useless perk. Not scaring off crows is nice but the situations where that would mean the difference between surviving or dying are very rare in my experience. I personally find the lack of a yell upon being hit or hooked quite weird but that's just a minor nitpick. At the end of the day, it's not that bad of a perk anymore thanks to all the stuff that causes screams now so run it if you like it! :)
-
Ace for me. I like the aesthetic of his character and he has some pretty nice cosmetics. I also don't really feel the need to use iron will on him which is a nice plus.
-
It should presuming that the perk's wording is accurate. I haven't had the chance to test it myself though because the dlc still isn't available on the ps store.

I appreciate that the Devs were trying to spice up the auras but I have to agree that the auras are simply way to hard to see now. I was running devour hope to complete a mori daily and I literally couldn't see the aura of my hex until I got quite close to it. I sincerely hope that they make the auras more visible soon.
