He didn't go through him. He went to the side of him. He past him and the bush but barely.

Dude I was quoting what he said in the vid, he did kind of go through him, even if it wasn't fully phasing through. Most of the time killer hitboxes don't allow you to get that close, because they're so large. It's why looping favors survivors. It might be a bug, if it is I would like to know that it is a bug. Hence my question.

  • Wait people are legit complaining about THIS skin, THIS one? Like I could kind of sort of understand the Lisa one, because it really wasn't that detailed so $15 was a bit pricey (though it is very accurate to in-game from what I've seen), but this skin is amazing. People legit just want to complain about any skin they release now it seems.

Like I could understand complaining about the new Yui skin (imo it's very bland and not worth the price at all) or like you said Kate's pigtails (I was really excited for them too until I saw them in game *shudder*), or even why Weapons can't be equipped separately apart from the sets they came in (head and torsos I can understand, why weapons tho), but they choose to complain about THIS?

  • That's amazing, I am really sad now. (Though honestly I think his new actual chase music sucks)

At what point? Time on the video. When it comes to blocking a survivor, you still can unless the area is wide or you hit them then they go through you.

I posted the vid in my OG response in an edit, with the time the event happens (you would've just found out if you had clicked).

  • @kate_best_girl said:

So everyone says if theres a loop you can't beat as a certain killer (IE huntress at a long wall) you should just abandon chase and let the survivor go but I don't understand how that helps the killer at all? Like survivors can just run back to the loop whenever they want so how does abandoning chase help?

Because if you waste too much time on that one survivor at the one loop you're losing pressure mapwide. It's better to abandon that survivor and hopefully find one who's worse at looping or chase in general, or even just to pressure people off gens, or to catch them at an unsafe loop. Yeah they could just keep running back to that loop, if they're near it, but they probably aren't going to be near that loop all game, so you have a better chance at catching them out later at a less safe loop.

...so forcing 1 person to stick to a match for the enjoyment of 4 other people will lead to a downward spiral for the game. If the game isn't enjoyable for everyone then a vote system should be fine.

Meanwhile, letting that 1 person suicide on hook so they can quit and keeping joining other games until they find that one acceptable game will not lead to a downward spiral of death?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1489577#Comment_1489577

I never said suicide should be punished. I said it should be completely removed. Gone. When you fail a Kobe or struggle you just get some other penalty without being killed. Something with the emblems.

Dude if they're killing themselves on hook they obviously don't care about their emblems. Lol. Also yes, a vote system. They totally won't be forced to stay and play through a match they don't want to play via a vote system. That totally won't lead to people just afking til the match is over! But then you'll probably want an AFK penalty as well.

  • No. If a person doesn't want to stay you can't FORCE them to stay.

Truth is, its the survivors fault everytime they trigger a Hag trap.

If you cant outplay Hag dont fault the killer for being better than you at the game.

Blaming the killer for your inability to outplay their power. Imagine that

Maybe, stop running all around the map? Don't trigger my trap and I cant down you.

You can trigger hag traps just by WALKING. The only counters to her traps are flashlights and crouch-walking. Yes, no way the hag'll catch up when you're moving at the speed of a very slow tortoise.

How many times did you encounter a game changing bug.

Be intellectually honest, how many times you actually found a completely game changing bug? not a sfx bug, not an animation bug, not a sound que bug ( important but in dbd not so much most times) ?

    RARELY. VERY VERY VERY RARELY.

I've played dbd since jenuary 2017, and watched the game since 2016, where I was literally dying because I didn't have a pc to play dbd, and only because of this game I bought a 1000€ pc ( 250+€ for the monitor, keyboard and mouse and all the other stuff) . I remember when you would get stucked into a hook ,and never be able to get out of it. I passed all the era of lag switchers, where it was not fun at all, and after almost 5 years since 2016 and all my experience in dbd, including 6000/7000+ hours in game and twitch / youtube videos watched, the massive game changing era of bugs is finished people, and it finished in middle 2017, after the Bill release and the game engine update the game had.

Dbd still has bugs, sometimes, even GAME CHANGING, that's unalienable, but rarely, really. So the major dbd problem right now is not bugs of course, bug game's health, game's BALANCEMENT ( word that hurts a lot of people ( especially since dbd is not a competitive game ( for now, who knows in the future, I hope so)) because they do not understand that if a game is not almost balanced for both sides of a game there isn't any reason to play a certain game ) , and game's quality of life.

I got the bug (twice) where you loaded into a match and couldn't move, struggle, anything. Also you were stuck staring at the hook you died on until the match ended. Played a match very recently against a Spirit where one survivor bugged out and the Spirit couldn't pick them up, they couldn't bleed out, and she couldn't pull me out of the locker I was in (I was answering a phone call). The survivor had to d/c because she couldn't hook them and they wouldn't bleed out. Had a couple games around when I think Freddy came out where the locker bugged out and I could see other parts of the map but not outside the locker itself.

  • I think it's supposed to be like she had a Teratoma that morphed and grew out of control because she dabbled in "something" that her grandmother warned her not to. (Probably something along the lines of what made her like what she is in the Entity's realm)

I mean a Teratoma is usually what remains of what was supposed to be one's twin until it's subsumed by the stronger twin. So I mean, it was once upon a time supposed to technically be a person.

It's not supposed to be logical, it's supposed to be horrific.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1489053#Comment_1489053

There are people who play games to literally have an ego boost. DbD is a game that is not high skill capped at all which means literally any person and their grandma can get the idea of the game in a couple of hours. Because of this and Survivor being as easy as it is currently means 4 man bully squads can pull it off with barely any brain required as they use things they shouldnt to their advantage such as stretched resolution. Do those people care? No because they need their highlight compilations for their 1 YT viewer.

While yes the survivors objective is to survive in this game regardless of how it went down you failed that task. Did the killer kill? Yes. Watch this also become more common of a playstyle when MMR comes into it as when that happens there is literally no reason for Ranks to even be in the game, No ranks means no reason to commit to 12 hooks. People have no idea how much MMR will not fit into DbD.

My point was that the argument was flawed for both sides. When a survivors complains " I didn't have any fun" everyone and their mother likes to chime in, "Well it's the killer's OBJECTIVE to kill"

Okay so if the killer complains about not having any fun and survivors say, "Well it's the survivor's OBJECTIVE to survive" then suddenly that's bad and wrong. It's either true for both sides or true for neither.

Okay and bully squads are #########, I am agreeing that they are unmitigated #########. But if a killer manages to do the same thing they're magically not an #########?

"Oh wow, I found the Ruin totem 30 seconds into the match. I'll just leave it for later so the killer can have a good match." -No Survivor in the history of DBD ever

I mean Ruin is pretty much useless now, it doesn't need to be cleansed at all. As long as you can stay on a gen uninterrupted there's nothing to worry about.

Your going to get games like that man, you just gotta suck it up, I've had terrible team mates as survivor and they are terrible AF, so its not you

I don't think it was my teammates though, like we tried to help each other, but it was a combination of the map (being able to get to another survivor on that map is a nightmare) and his choice to slug everyone then hook. Like you get someone up he just chainsaws you both down. It was just an unwinnable clusterfuck from the time he managed to down the two people working on the gen together.

  • @Arbmos1998 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1489001#Comment_1489001

Whether it is fun or not is completely irrelevant as the purpose of Killer is to kill that is the game. Sure it "may" not be fun for survivor but that's just the way it is, move on to the next game. You don't see sweaty 4 mans at high level running all the meta perks, map offerings, tea bagging, clicking flashlights thinking they are top ######### caring for the killers fun so why should killer care for survivor fun? Literally watch any recent TrU3Ta1ent video of him going against toxic 4 mans to see where i am coming from.

Keep in mind also this guy even picked a map (Silent Hill map) that i'd say counters Billy so he even put himself at a disadvantage. Maybe they just wanted a quick game to try out the Billy changes? Maybe they had to go out and wanted to end the game quick? Maybe they wanted to feel like the power role still with a nerfed killer? Maybe they just wanted to dominate (which they did).

He was Leatherface, his name mentioned Billy. So what do people play games for then if not to have fun? Well the survivors' objective is to survive. Honestly that argument is so flawed. People can stop getting mad at 4 man SWF uber squads then, because they're just doing all they can to survive. Who cares if the killer doesn't get to play, gets completely bullied, or to have any fun? They're just doing their objective after all!

  • @Nurgling7 said:

Yeah, I really dont understand why a Killer would be upset at Survivors throwing a tantrum and ruining the match because they didnt follow The Survivors Rulebook for Killers.

    No idea at all.

Okay you obviously need reading comprehension. He slugged everyone, at five gens. There was no more match to be had. He was just hooking everyone, even if somebody kobied (if) the match was over. Done. Finito. How is that the SURVIVOR ruining the match? THERE WAS NO MORE MATCH.

Nobody mentioned the "Survivor Rulebook for Killers" until you my dude. If you read any of my other comments in this post you'd see that I said slugging is a good tool for applying pressure, but what pressure is needed to be had when NOBODY HAS EVEN FINISHED A GEN.

  • @Arbmos1998 said:

All i am gathering here is survivors being self entitled demanding the killer plays to their liking and because the killer dominated at 5 gens you had a fit and even dc'd. Slugging doesnt make killers asshats lol. Plus they got 17k pts so they probably secured a safety pip or even a pip so thats either a win or draw for them, probably a draw because you decided to dc

So if and when you play survivor, and the killer slugs everyone, before they even have a chance to really do ANYTHING, you'd have fun? No chases, no pallet drops, no saves, no heals, no getting to feel your adrenaline pumping? No interaction? Because that's what videogames are for. Fun. People want to actually be able to play.

No slugging doesn't make them asshats, I didn't say that (thanks for putting words in my mouth), but are you telling me that you'd have fun getting slugged at five gens? Not getting to do anything but play slug simulator? Crawl around until he picked you up, IF he picks you up, you queue for minutes and get a match that lasted probably just as long.

If it's not fun for killers to be genrushed (and it's not) then its not fun for survivors to all be slugged at 5 gens.

Slugging is a good move for applying pressure, but what pressure needs to be applied when nobody's had a chance to DO anything yet?

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1488950#Comment_1488950

    That's what I thought.

And they look like they criticized the killer and he said f off.

What's he supposed to say, "oh sorry, wont happen again "?

I get that we all don't always agree on playstyle, but keep your opinion to yourself unless asked.

So you think getting slugged at five gens, getting at max 8k points, at min 2k, aka not even being able to play the game is fun? That someone should, "keep their opinion to their self" when someone plays in a way seemingly just to prevent the other side from getting a chance to? People criticize survivors for doing it all the time, purposely setting out to bully the other side, but when a killer does it you can't criticize their playstyle, because reasons.

  • @SilentSpectre said:

I don't think anyone thought they couldn't be.

Plenty of people on these forums like to act like just because there are 4 survivors to 1 killer that it must be the survivors fault for the toxicity, or that because the potential ratio of toxic survivors to toxic killers means that saying that both sides can be as bad as each other is insulting.

Like he slugged at 5 gens, and people say hey, that's not fun, so he makes it seem like people are whining about being killed. No, they just wanted to actually be able to play the game. You gonna tell me getting only 2k points is fun? That everyone got the most out of that round after probably having to sit in a queue for 5 mins minimum? Prob more?

Favorite is Feng's, and probably the only survivor one I'll buy. Jane's is lovely and David's is pretty nifty, but I'll pass. Yui's is bland.

Very tempted to buy Oni's. I did however just buy his Ninja Turtle looking skin a week ago, and I like yelling calabunga when I go smash. I'll pass on Clown. I think it's a fun costume for him, but I don't think they actually captured Hades... at all. Still, it fits Clown.

Wait he's supposed to be Hades? I thought Dionysus/Bacchus for sure.

Edit: He doesn't fit Hades at all, like why?

  • @ins0 said:

I'm willing to bet it's nothing special - it probably just counts how many games you had with that killer total, how many you won (3+ kills) and how many you lost (>2 kills), quality of badges earned at different tiers of the rank system (for instance how many iridescent at rank 1 games), your devotion level..probably it also has some coefficient for games where you used addons and moris and that's about it.

They won't explain the new system. They will say it's to make sure it doesn't get abused but probably the explanation is that the new system makes extensive use of the old system and as such, not much has changed, other than giving it a PR spin.

That's what I'm afraid of tbh. Like that the way they're determining "skill" with certain killers is just super shallow. Like if it goes off your Lvl with that killer then I guess I'm great at Nurse! (I am not great at Nurse)

If it's based off Devotion Lvl I got most of that by playing Surv, so that means nothing.

Like I'm just honestly worried that this is going to fix nothing in the long run. Just a pretty band-aid to make it look like the problem's gone away when it really hasn't.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

The reason they can't change achievements like From The Void She Kills, Smoked, Skilled Huntress, and the Adept Killers is because Sony and Microsoft aren't very big on changing achievements unless it's impossible (IDK why). You would have to change the Killers to change the achievements.

The Adepts were fine until patch 2.6.0 when the devs "fixed" them. Not sure why though, pretty much everyone was fine with them and they weren't breaking the game or anything. Hopefully they'll be easier with matchmaking being based off your Killer.

I miss when old killer Adepts were just getting a 4k (or for some of the Old Old Killer Adpets for the original 4 killers, where it was just Like getting Tier 1 of all their base perks and Teachables. Those were the days).

someone who is only interested into ONE piece is not going to be motivated to pay more $$$ to a whole outfit which is alos linked. I think they are losing more money with this strat

Oh no I'm not saying it's working, I'm just saying that might've been their motivation. Like if anything it's losing them money, cuz like, for example I love the long blonde hair on one of the sets for Cheryl (not the Lisa Legendary), but the whole set is kinda meh to me. So I haven't bought it, if they sold the pieces separately I'd prob buy one or two, so instead of getting about 7 bucks from me they're getting nothing. Most people only buy parts of sets, I think the idea might've been for the people who might buy one or two pieces from a set but not the whole set. They'd probably not be too fussed over dropping an extra couple bucks if they like most of the cosmetic, but it really backfires when people only want one part.

  • They really really do need to add colorblind mode though, like this ######### is awful enough for people who aren't colorblind.

  • @snozer said:

That is the idea. they essentially deleted aura s from the game without doing it.

They nerfed all aura read perks and bbq in one hit lol! On the survivor side they actually beefed up auras and made them more visible.

They look awful for Surv too. Dunno what you're on about there.

I love the concept and some designs but HATE the execution!

I dislike the Legendary Skins due to lack of customisation. I can understand it for certain ones like the Minotaur Oni due to clipping but the weapon should still be interchangeable. Legendary skins make no sense to me for the survivors (maybe Janes dress?) but not allowing you to easily sway hairstyles is just idiotic to me.

For a final not - what is up with Davids eyebrows?!?!

I think he's supposed to be Hercules, and Hercules slayed the Nemian Lion, so I think they're trying to go for a more animalistic look with bushy eyebrows and a "mane."

  • Weapons being part of a set is so stupid. Same with the Robbie Rabbit Legions skins. Like I don't even LIKE those skins, but the weapon being attached to the set is so stupid.

Though I think part of the reason for that may be more $$$. If it were unattached in the case of the Legion skins (I'm pretty sure it was the same weapon for all 4 "versions" of the skin, which is another discussion entirely) that'd mean the other three "sets" would cost less overall. Or maybe it has to do with clipping issues? But I kind of doubt that because why/how would the weapon clip?

The actual outfits and head I can...kind of understand. In some circumstances, as much as it sucks. Like with the Nea one, that's because the pants on that cosmetic were higher waisted than the norm it'd cause major clipping with other cosmetics, dunno why the head couldn't be detached (we already have neck seam issues with pre-existing cosmetics) besides the apparently MASSIVE bald spot on the back (lol, which I'm guessing is so the hair didn't clip with the hood).

    There should be 2 hatches

There should be 2 hatches, 1 lets the survivor escape , the other leads the survivor to be hooked in the basement, the survivor dosnt know which is which, so you have a 50/50 chance of escaping.

This will mean having a key doesn't mean an automatic escape.

    No.

  • @CrowFoxy said:

Mori on death hook would make it useless.

I also don't believe in nerfing/removing keys. I just simply believe hatch shouldn't spawn until all gens are done for 2+ survivors honestly.

Mori on death hook wouldn't make them useless, and it would probably discourage tunneling off hook just to mori them. Do you know how unfun that is? Very, very unfun.

I mean if killers wanna play hide and seek for 30+ mins because the survs didn't finish enough gens and the last guy left alive has no other out except the gates (which can spawn super close together anyway, so the possibility of being ######### is high) and therefore has to try to finish enough gens to power the gates and still probably die, so they're gonna be stealth-ing from gen to gen trying to survive. Sure, I'm sure killer's will have loads of fun with that and not complain at all because the survivor "wasted their time."

  • @Ghouled_Mojo said:

Not necessarily, like I'm only a Rank 13 killer atm, and I've gotten matched against 2-man Purple Rank SWF, and a 2 man Yellow Rank SWF in the same match. Next match I again had 2 (diff people) purple Rank SWFs. Like the MM system just seems to be throwing stuff at the wall at the moment. I've think I've also had gone against Solo Q rainbow ranks as killer before. Sometimes MM just be like that.

How will you explain this situiation? killer knows that nobody does the gens should he pretend he does not understnad what is going on and where survs is heading?

am i not doing my objective to ensure a survivor dies?

Your objective(s), aka plural, are to stop the survivors from doing gens, chasing them, preventing them from powering the gates, and killing them. Your main objective is pressure. If you're just staring one survivor in the face until they're dead you're not doing your objective at all. The rest'll just gen rush you and teabag at the gates, and then you wonder why you only got a 1k. SMH.

  • I'm just a might ticked off because I don't understand how someone can get to Rank 7 and not know what farming is. Like even if you don't want to farm you must know what it is by that point? Like how, how? Though tbf she was playing SWF, so the Rank may be a might boosted (she didn't even know what killer shack was called, oof).

    Hillbilly: constantly tap-buzzing chainsaw

Trapper: constantly steps on his own traps

    Ghostface: t-bag and nod

Deathslinger: maybe if you shoot a bunch of times, people might interpret the distant gunshot as friendliness?

I think the rest of the killers can only nod and hope people understand.

Sometimes just M1-ing gens can be an indicator too.

  • But even if you don't want to directly farm, why would you just bang out gens just to leave? Barely any Boldness, no Altruism.

  • @SonicOffline said:

There are a handful of situations where Wraith can do this with no negative consequence. If he's chasing someone with no available pallets, for example, there's no negative to the bell spam if he cancels it early enough and can readily swing right out of a bing bong.

As a Wraith main, when I do it that's 90% the reason. I'm confident I can't be punished for it AND I know that you know where I am anyway. i.e. in a very obvious chase.

I have seen Wraith's do that, but if they're just standing there clanging the bell after they find you on a gen, and not chasing anyone yet, what would you think? Like to me that indicates they want to farm. Or it could be fake farming as bait. Had that happen once or twice.

To me, it means free time on the Generator.

Yeah sometimes it's sneaky bait too. But like, everytime I want to farm, I get survivors who apparently (even though they're rank 7???) don't know this?
