Yep and it highlights the whole whiny aspect of the bias I mentioned. If there’sa notes either hide and get out or find it and clean it it isn’t that hard. Again, 1 2nd Chance perk for killers that can be cleansed vs several that survivors use. It’sa hilarious argument. Noed doesn’t stop my crew at all, just shows us down a bit. Adapt and move on.

Your crew, aka SWF? That's why NOED is a problem for Solos not SWF. You guys can rattle off when you cleanse a totem, Solos can't. We have no reliable way of knowing how many have been done besides the ones we cleanse ourselves. Even if you say in pre game lobby "Do totems" doesn't mean they're going to get done or that you're even going to KNOW that your fellow randos are cleansing them.

Okay first off, once more we are getting a cosmetic we can't mix and match, I understand a little in regards to the toga like dress but it could of been split, or at least as a firend suggested the head. Second, why her panties black! This was the decision that put Mr Mushwin well off from buying it, for one they look like Myers's hospital pants, but could they of least not been made white? I saw a pic of her running, and the dress was riding up showing off in all the glory of black panties. -face palms- Sorry BHVR lost out on some coin for such wares :( and it was a good Jane outfit, shame it couldn't of been split.

It's the underwear they use for all survs (and I guess Myers?) when they have an outfit that could possibly give a panty shot. Cheryl-Lisa wears them too. It's a bit ridic. Like you said they could make em a different color for diff outfits, but eh, BHVR.

No, Noed is exactly equivalent to all of the 2nd Chance perks that survivors have, except killers just have the one that can be deactivated before it’s ever used whereas survivors have numerous ones that are difficult to play around. The only difference is that whiny survivors seem to feel that it’s ok and necessary for them to have all of their own, while also complaining that noed should be removed. I don’t like noed myself, but it amuses me the amount of bias goes into these complaints.

Did you even read the post?

the literal point of noed is to make it more enticing for teams to do bones instead of just rushing gens. you want better teams look around for people in the discord and group up. the amount of people who want the game handed to them on silver platter is staggering.

Yes, that was completely the point of the OP's post. They wanted the game handed to them on a silver platter. You got 'em. I didn't know you could read minds. (Though I'm guessing you can't read at all, based off your replies)

The Greek Zarina outfit is in the current rift. So you can buy and play through the rift now to get it, or wait 6-12 months until it'll be released to the store (or so they've said).

Wow you just enhanced the negativity of swf teams with that growl. So convincing yet truthfully hysterical like the rest who are so confused about the subject of swf being a negative impact on killers.

My dude, if you read another post I made a bit up, you would see that I admitted that going against an actual competent SWF as a killer can be ######### awful. But I guess that would require reading comprehension.

Omg solo queue in a team game is hard.... its like thats how solo queue for any team game is going to be. The guys team didn't help him with an objective seems to be working as intended. Like a killer who complains all 4 survivors escape after having them all on death hook. They didn't do the objective simple story. They do have a way to know if bones are being done its called voice communication, there is even a whole discord dedicated to it. If you choose not to use voice comes that's a you issue.

So you expect. A person in solo q. To hop on discord. Tell their 3 randoms to hop on discord. Hope they HAVE discord installed. Hope everyone has a working mic. Hope everyone has headphones. Hope they actually listen and hop into discord. All in 60 secs before the match starts. Sure bud. I'm sure that'll work out great every game. Why don't you try it and get back to me about how well that works out?

You can play with 0 perks and be fine. If noed is an issue for you. Run the perk that solves it. Not that hard. It takes maybe 2 or 3 minutes to go around the ENTIRE map. If you look well, you will find them.

You have PLENTY of time if you dont feel the urge to do 5 gens in 5 minutes...

Detectives hunch is good, but maps work too if you dont have it unlocked.

If I'm solo and tend to be left on hook or tunneled, guess what? I run kindred and DS. I dont come here and say, "stop defending tunneling" or "solo is unplayable". I use what's given to fix my issues.

It seems you have reading comprehension problems. They do bones, they did almost ALL the bones by themselves. Their teammates did no bones. They spend or spent time looking for the last set of bones and could not find them, when they run Small Game to try to find bones it doesn't help (as the perk is garbage).

Some maps are bigger than others. So I doubt it only takes 2-3 mins, that's also not accounting for the time taken to cleanse said bones, as well as doing so without getting found by the killer, as well as hoping that your teammates aren't absolute potatoes and are actually doing gens. Also what about maps with multiple stories? What about the swamp?

They obviously AREN'T genrushing, as they are looking for and cleansing totems. So your 5 gens in 5 mins comment is utterly pointless.

How many maps do you expect a person to have? Do you expect them to run a map every game, JUST in case of Noed? Do you expect them to find a map in a chest every game?

That's why I said general area, sure there's rng, but they will be somewhere around specific spots on the map.

So what you're telling me is that there are two perks and an item that will tell you exactly where the totems are, in addition to just memorizing where they will be. Dang, sounds survivor sided to me.

As you pointed out, there are perks and items that completely neutralize hex perks. The problem is that survivors don't want to give up that ridiculously overpowered meta, so they come on here, crying about how unfair hex perks are.

Dude I already know you're biased af, but like. Seriously. Seriously. Detective's hunch is DLC only, Small Game also triggers off of hag traps and trapper traps, and it also is just a general cone, so sometimes even if you know a totem is "nearby" that doesn't mean much. If the totem is tucked away well enough good luck finding that #########. Small game says it's here...somewhere...in this 45 degree cone within 12 meters. That'll totally help when the totem is on the top floor of the Thompson house in an obscure corner that no one EVER goes to or passes by. Completely. Maps are rare. Also that still doesn't solve the Solo Q problem of, ehem, NOT KNOWING HOW MANY TOTEMS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CLEANSED. You might do four by yourself, never find the fifth one, you and your teammates may never find the fifth one (if they in fact are even cleansing totems themselves), Noed procs. "WhY DiDn'T yOu JuSt Do BoNeS???"

Idk man, just, didn't feel like doing bones after the first four. Just. Got lazy I guess. Y'know how it is.

It is a lazy crutch perk that rewards bad gameplay.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1523411#Comment_1523411

Lol. You have a way to remove one of the killers strongest perks, and you have the nerve to complain that its difficult to find?!? Especially when they spawn in the same general area every time. I guess you want them all to be outside the shack, or directly across from a gen.

They do not spawn in the same general area every time, there are fyi more than 5 potential totem spots on a map, they are RNG dependent just like almost everything else in this game. OMG shocking.

So you're telling me, with no foreknowledge of where totems MIGHT spawn on a map, in Solo Q, with no map, no Detective's Hunch, No Small Game, that you'd be able to find and cleanse that totem? And EVERY OTHER totem, because this is solo q, and nobody is probably gonna do totems but you. You telling me you're gonna find that #########? Or even say you and everyone else cleanses no totems, but just tries to memorize where they were when you run across them (or hell even tries to cleanse every totem but one in a REALLY obvious place so if NOED pops you know where it is), JUST IN CASE of NOED, you're not gonna miss that totem? Really? Really really? I highly doubt it my dude, I highly ######### doubt it.

  • @vector said:

wait, let me get this sraight.

    1) Guy cound not find bones.

    2) Guy died

    3) Guy come here for complaining.

what do you need here? A radar and immortality or what?

i dont get your logic, you think you should always survive or what?

    Not the issue is:

    1) Guy found and cleansed four bones

    2) Nobody else did any bones

    3) Guy was found, one hit down, first hooked, and died

    4) Guy came here JUSTIFIABLY complaining because solo q is hell and there is no way to tell if anyone else on your team is also doing bones. They got ######### by NOED when they and no one else was doing the counter.

So no, if you read the post, no they don't think they should survive every game or have a radar or immortality. They LEAST they would like is some way for Solo players to know if anyone else is also doing bones. Maybe you should learn to read.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

This is just a reminder that yes, there are indeed survivors who do bones in order to try and counter NoED. These players also generally don't gen-rush.

When these players come here and say that NoED is indeed a terrible perk and needs changing, they're right. They do not need to "git gud", they do not need to hear "Just do bones." and they do NOT need to hear a garbage spiel about how easy the perk is to counter, the killer is "oNlY pLaYiNg WiTh 3 PeRkS!" or the points of DS/BT/DH/UB being perks and can be stacked.

To now make the "Do bones" argument null and void, I will now highlight every way that this argument is totally invalid:

    • Survivor perks, such as Decisive Strike and Unbreakable are used with the hope that they are NEVER ACTIVATED. Well, for a lot of their users anyway. People can claim this as being perks down, much like the arguments for NoED.
    • The so-called Survivor equivelant, Adrenaline, is only a small and temporary boost while NoED is permanent if activated. Yes, the health state is temporary, but there are several killers that have base-kit instant downs so this really shouldn't be THAT big of an issue.
    • NoED does not discriminate between those who have done totems and those who do not. This leads to several cases like mine where I am commonly doing 3-4 dull totems MYSELF and getting killed after only one hit and hook. I am being punished for others failing, not my own failure. I know that Survivor is technically a team game, but there is a point where the individual should not be punished for the failures of the team.
    • It creates bad habits. Rather than actually adapting to applying pressure through various means, or learning how to improve in chases, NoED is used as a safety net in order to get kills that one would not normally be able to achieve, making them think that they are more skilled than they actually are. Rather than getting better at their role, they are telling others to do way more work because they refuse to adapt.
    • Counters to a majority of Survivor perks are merely a change in mindset or playstyle, such as trading hooks to apply pressure and avoid Decisive Strike AND Borrowed Time. NoED requires survivors to go out of their way in order to stop one of your perks.
    • The "counters" are also indirect and limited, also chewing up valuable perk slots for other perks to counter some of the more unsavoury tactics that killers use and are not perk dependent.

Main point here is that yes, I do the dull totems. They are more bloodpoints and cancel the perk. I AM NORMALLY THE ONE TO GET HIT BY IT. Most of these games, it is also the first hook that I will be placed on and will also ultimately kill me.

There are also many issues that I have with NoED on a fundamental level as a perk, especially with it's activation for both general activation and notification of it's activity. Every other Hex perk requires ONE totem to be destroyed, where as NoED can have up to 5 required, before endgame.

All exposure effects outside of NoED and Devour Hope also give instant notification. Devour Hope also has a lengthy list of requirements to activate outside of "be loosing" in order to achieve the same effect. Devour Hope is also a TEACHABLE perk, one that should be more powerful than base-perks as you have to do a lot more work for them to become available.

So, fellow killers, while you lot think up of an actual excuse for NoED being the way it is, I'll be off actually doing the damn bones whenever I decide to indulge in a little bit of Survivor while I try to progress my Archives. In the meantime, whenever any of you argue about Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable just remember this advice, since it's ok for YOU to give it: Just don't tunnel, camp or slug. Never mind that the survivor ran at you or started working on that generator or unhooking that other survivor in your face. Kinda hypocritical, isn't it? That's how I feel every time I hear the phrase "just do bones".

I did them, so now what?

My biggest problem with the "do bones" argument (esp now) is, what if your NOED spawn was this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDoBzsMLw0k

    About 9:47

(I know this is devour hope, but go with me here)

How do you reasonably and logically expect anyone to find this totem spawn, ESPECIALLY when dull. I do know that totem spawns have to be better than they used to be, aka not right out in the open where everyone can see, but this is going a wee bit too far methinks. This is the problem with the do bones argument. Right here.

  • I could kinda understand it if the match was a total sweatfest, or a by the skin of your teeth scenario. Where you kinda wanna be like, "YES, I LIVED!" Like I know a few times I've had a lucky hatch spawn or happen to find it first and am like "RNGesus was on my side today" in post game chat.

But GGEZ? They're probably trying to get a rise out of you. It's totally RNG and luck dependent who finds it first. Nothing "EZ" about it. They're probably also the peeps that gotta locker hop or jump a window to let you know they found it, or wait til you find them before they bother to hop in.

  • Apparently you can still download the game via steamdb, and you can get the masks that way (at least PC peeps can, sorry console peeps)! Don't even need to finish the dl, just start it. Also servers shut down August 12th.

  • @Dehitay said:

That reminds me. I heard that DbD was supposed to have some redeem code feature coming if it's not already in the game somewhere. Deathgarden masks could be an interesting way to test that system.

That'd be nice. It'd also possibly give console peeps a chance to get them, seeing as the game never survived long enough to get a port.

Everyone just assumes everyone is a swf; so many times I’ve been messaged nice swf swf carry I’m like I’m a solo player dude get good LOL

Like I know that going against even just a competent SWF can be super SUPER frustrating as killer (esp if you're not the best at killer, aka me), trust me I've been there, but blaming everything on SWF is where it gets ridiculous. Sometimes you get paired against some solos who just gel really well together, sometimes you get matched against people who just outskill you, sometimes you made a TON of mistakes and you don't even realize it because this game doesn't have automatic replay allowing you to see where you ######### up. (I mean, yeah you could record every match you play and then watch it to see, but how many people are realistically gonna do that?)

Like not everything is SWF, sometimes it's you (general you).

  • @Pipefish said:

If your a new survivor I reccomend going on the DBD discord and find an SFW that can help carry you and make you learn quick. As for killer I'd wait a few months until mmr is properly implemented.

A person shouldn't have to wait a few MONTHS in order to properly play a new game they just bought. Like I'm not mad at you, but, I'm mad at the fact that that's even a thing. What if in a few months when it hypothetically settles it turns out they don't like the actual game itself, not just the currently borked matchmaking? Too late for a refund, that's for damn sure.

You know that meta perks and SC aren't mutually exclusive? There's 16 survivor perks in a game. And the ones I win the most are the ones where I can exploit a SC moron. Plus, if red ranks are so good then why would someone not trust their teammates to heal them?

And the reason people complain about red ranks is because they aren't actually complaining about red ranks, but the idea of them. Before the MMR system, it was a coin toss as to whether you were getting a full-party SWF that can't loop for shite but stick to gens like glue, or a bunch of confused morons that practically hook themselves. Sure, the concentration gets lower the higher you rank up, but if ranks actually did equal skill then why are they even in red ranks?

And what evidence do you have that the MMR system won't act the exact same as every other MMR system? Right now it's not even performing out of the ordinary. They only just implimented it and they didn't give it time to accurately accrue data, so this is all to be expected.

PS: playing stealthy and playing well aren't the same thing. I know, I'm a stealth player and I'm lazy AF. It was super easy to get to red ranks.

If it sucks so hard as you claim then why is it meta lol? Why are killers that can be looped for 5 gens in red ranks?

The old ranking system wasn't perfect, it was very flawed, but I doubt this one's gonna cut the mustard either.

Dude if you have faith that the dbd team properly accounted for enough variables (and there are many variables to consider: bloodlust, RNG pallet/window/gen/hook spawns, map size, map layout, perks, items, add-ons, offerings. Moris, keys) to give a good and accurate rating on actual skill? Good on you. I don't. I think they're showing it by placing people who practically just bought the game against people with hundreds to thousands of hours.

  • @Artemis_LH said:

That's just it. I have carried people via SWF to red ranks, and even made it to red ranks within my first week of playing (I started when the game released on console). My knowledge of the game was VERY limited compared to what it is now and I had little to no perks (not that I understood a lot of them).

Again, the devs have said that rank does not equate skill. Hence why it is no longer used for matchmaking.

They announced this all recently, I don't understand how so many people are struggling to grasp this concept.

Rank is, literally, just for giving yourself kudos.

Okay but the game literally just released on Console, everyone else probably ALSO didn't know how to play. If you had started now, after it had been out on console for a few years now, do you think you'd still get to Rank 1 in a week? Also approximately how many hours total do you think you played during that week?

If you're playing Solo Q? Yes I WOULD argue Rank takes skill. Or at least more skill than someone completely new to the game has.

Do you honestly HONESTLY think, the new MMR system, once all the kinks are worked out? Will fare better than what we had? That they accounted for enough variables to give an honest view of skill? I don't, because there are too many variables to properly account for. Bloodlust, Perks, RNG pallet spawns, RNG window Spawns, fat shaming spots, Survivor Spawns, Killer Spawns, can they loop, can't they loop? Hitboxes, lag, dedicated servers. Add-ons, items, offerings. Moris, keys. Map size. Map layout. RNG Gen spawns. RNG hook spawns. So much.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1516627#Comment_1516627

If ranks are such a good indicator of skill, why is it that most people at red ranks, and I mean the significant majority, suck worse than a broken vacuum cleaner?

Why is it that so many red ranks run Self Care?

Why is it that most red ranks don't look behind them?

Why is it that most red ranks cannot loop?

And, and this is the real important part, did you know that the survivor second-chance meta actually makes it easier to rank up than it already is? Right now, to pip at red ranks, you need to do a gen, a totem, a safe unhook, a heal, and a minutes worth of chasing. Not only do second chance perks mess with the emblem system (BT = free unhook, UB/DH= more chase, DS = more everything) but the system itself sucks.

I get people wanting to pretend that they are good at the game. I get wanting that sense of accomplishment. But the developers themselves came out and said that rank was a personal victory, not a measure of skill.

Not everyone brings BT, not everyone brings UB/DH, not everyone brings DS, also people are bringing all of those exact perks every game? I doubt it. Also: go after the unhooker, slug and make them waste it/bait the dead hard, slug the DS. People might bring self care because they don't trust teammates to heal them. So is everyone running all the meta second chance perks? Or are too many people running Self Care? Which is it?

Also if most people at red suck so hard why do people constantly complain about how hard it is to play killer at those ranks? Are they potatoes or aren't they? Is Red ranks nothing but SWF death squads or everyone is a potato? Some people get to red ranks by playing stealthy, therefore they may not care to learn to loop.

In that case Red Rank for killer ALSO means nothing, even though I would argue that yes playing killer is far harder than playing survivor.

If you honestly think the new MMR, whenever it is "settled" or "fixed" or whatever is going to be better than the ranks we had? You're ######### kidding yourself.

  • @Demonl3y said:

Then why did my GF, who litteraly know nothing really about DbD or gaming in general got to rank 1? Because she got carried by me and random mates.

    Rank means nothing.

Okay but what Rank are you and your mates? In order to carry her so hard you and your friends had to have the skill the carry her and protect her through your matches. Therefore Rank does correlate to something. Just because some people get boosted to Ranks they're not actually at doesn't mean Rank means nothing. It just means that person's Rank means nothing. If she played long enough to learn the game on her own she might eventually get to Rank 1 by herself. Just because she didn't doesn't mean it means nothing to everyone who did work their way there. SWF or Solo.

  • @clem1710 said:

Killers have to sweat because of swf

That wasn't the point of the post whatsoever but sure my man. Always gotta bring in the SWF. Even though based off the way the person in this post was talking they were Solo. But sure. SWF. Evil. Bad. Grrrrrr.

  • @Artemis_LH said:

Rank does not equate skill. The devs have said so themselves. It only reflects frequency of play when it comes down to it, which is why some red ranks still seem derpy.

Yeah Rank may not properly equate for skill, but a person who has reached Rank 1 has at least played the game long enough to probably have more than the basic mechanics of the game down, know at least how looping WORKS even if they can't properly loop themselves, know how perks and items work, HAVE perks and items to use, etc. Meanwhile these people who have only like 11 hrs of playtime being matched against people who potentially have tens to hundreds times that. That's not fair, that's not fun, and it'll probably actively discourage people from either continuing to play or keeping the game (if they can still refund it that is).

It's the same for people who only have recently bought the game and are trying to play killer too. Playing against Seal Squad 6 (whether SWF or Solos) as a new killer, that'll demotivate and demoralize you like nothing else.

  • @SweetTerror said:

The new MMR was sorely needed as grouping by ranks literally meant nothing as anyone could stop playing for a few months and go all the way back to rank 20 despite not being a legit 20.

That being said, I completely agree with you that matches are very unbalanced right now. New players are being teamed up with very experienced players more than they ever were before, which goes to show just how badly DBD needs a practice mode like its mobile counterpart already has. Everybody - especially new players - needs a way to test out the mechanics without having to worry about competing.

Getting to rank 1 as killer requires more experience than it does getting to rank 1 as a survivor, and right now it's sad to see rank 1 Killers going up against rank 20 survivors with nothing more than two level 1 perks to their name.

I'm sure matches will be adjusted better the longer this new MMR is up and running, but regardless we need that practice mode sooner rather than later.

I mean they easily could've solved that by making it so you can't go below a certain rank from monthly resets, even and especially if you haven't played for a long while (say somewhere between Rank 15-10) you could still possibly depip AFTER you start playing again, but it'd keep the real noobs from the people who just haven't played the game in a long time separated. Like yeah, a person who hasn't played in a long time is gonna be rusty af, but they're not at the same skill level as real rank 20s and should never be treated as such.

  • Prob dedicated server lag.

We all have had times where the game isn't fun. Watch videos, practice in KYFs and just learn your tiles. When I started DBD when it first came to PS4, I learned how to play against nonstop face campers with no chance of rescue and BT wasn't on PS4 yet.

What if the person doesn't HAVE people to practice in KYF with? I can say from experience, the new player experience in this game is grueling as #########. I started over 3 years ago and there were so many times I wanted to quit, esp as I was playing completely solo back then. I stuck around, but I can completely understand if a new player didn't want to, DBD is a baby player stomping ground. Playing with and against people with hundred if no thousands of experience to your tens of hours, not the mention the flaming you get for not knowing what the hell to do, it's hella unfun.

The in-game tutorial could honestly use a LOT of work, esp if a person has to rely on youtube to learn basic mechanics of the game. Where's the in-game flashlight tutorial? The tutorial about survivor and killer add-ons (not what they do, but how to equip them, as stupid as it sounds that does stump a LOT of new players), about equipping offerings? The tutorial on how to equip perks??? How about where to FIND the Shrine? There's nothing I can see in the tutorial about killers who don't have a terror radius (aka Tier 1 Mikey), or about how certain perks can take AWAY or lower terror radius or the red stain? What about Doctor and his Clones? Madness? How THAT can affect the terror radius and stain? What about how when the doc shocks you you can't drop pallets or vault windows, and that that's NOT a bug but an intended feature? Like there's SO much that can frustrate and stump new players that's just not covered, that they may think is a bug or someone hacking, when it's really just a feature of the game.

With how long the queue times can be, I have a hard time believing someone who just spent 15 minutes trying to get a lobby would back out and go back in over and over again.

People did it all the time in the old days before SWF was a thing, I believe that's part of the reason they added the function actually.

  • @EntityDrudge said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1049727#Comment_1049727

Swf could be eradicated simply by not allowing friends to invite anyone. And then loading a match once all 5 players have been found, but not changing their screen to a lobby. Just go straight from searching to the loading in screen. Then the match.

This is elementary level logic. Not complicated at all.

Back when SWF wasn't built into the game people would lobby dodge until they could get matched with their friends, take away the ability to queue for SWF and people will do that again. You cannot keep people from playing with their friends lol. They WILL find ways around it.

If they take away the lobby people will either d/c until they get to play with their friends or drop the game entirely. Also you take away the lobby you take away the ability for Solos to potentially coordinated, and for both killers AND survivors to set up and prepare before match. Which could severely ######### over some killers. Some killers need the extra lobby prep time, as do some survivors.

Other posts in this entire forum has been answered this already. The Dev's have said Ranks don't mean any4hing with the new MMR

The things that bothers me about that answer is, then why are they even in the game anymore? If you're updating to a new matchmaking, then why keep ANYTHING from the old matchmaking, especially if according to them it "doesn't mean anything" (imo old Ranks do still SOMEWHAT matter, as an indication of time played if nothing else, which means the new MMR matching certain Ranks with people who have literally JUST STARTED PLAYING THE GAME makes it unfair and unfun for everyone involved)?

Take LoL for example, in order to play ranked in League you have to reach account Level 30 and own at least 20 different champs on that account. So even if this is their first time playing ranked they've probably AT LEAST played the game long enough to have the basics down and have an idea of how to play semi efficiently.

Now I'm not saying DBD should work exactly like League, my point is that the fact that a person who has only played DBD for 5 hours can literally be matched with or against (or both) someone with hundreds if not thousands of hours (and the grind in DBD is so insane that you'll probably only have a few perks by that time, and going against people who are fully kitted out while you're lucky to have a full set of perks, not to mention a full set of GOOD perks) makes DBD so unfun and unfair for new players, and really lessens the chances that they'll stick around and not just ask for a full refund.

The games usually do not last more than 6 or 7 minutes, the killer needs hang survivors 12 times, 4 decisive strikes are 4 minutes ur math doesn't work or maybe this game really is unbalanced.

If they have 4 ds and you just eat the stun it's only 20 secs total and they can't use it during the endgame. Or bring enduring and it's like 3 secs max, making it like 12 secs of stun.

  • @RakimSockem said:

A small lag spike can cause that to happen.

Also they changed it so you stop struggling if all remaining players are hooked, even if you have time remaining so that may be happened too.

Wait what? When did they do that ######### change? What about if this is one (or more) of your other teammates first hooks and they have the potential to kobe and also potentially save you? The #########?

  • If MMR HAS been calculating in the background (as one dev said) then no one should be getting paired up with newbies (except newbies themselves). Newbies should not have the MMR to go against people with hundreds of hours (even if not on the current killer you're playing) unless they're a smurf playing on a new acct and their skill highly outweighs their "playtime."

    2) If MMR is just a blank slate set at 0 right now as another dev said, they still should've INITIALLY gone off of ranks, then based off how they play set them higher or lower as needed on the MMR scale as needed (so say they're a "Rank 1" as of old ranks currently currently, but based off MMR they actually play like an MMR "Rank 7" then the system could pair them with other MMR "Rank 7's" after their primary games, as it is now though it's a totally newbie stomping fest). Either way newbies should never EVER play against people with over 50-100 hours.

Playtime should've been a factor in MMR, it's obvious it's not. Even if you've never played a certain killer before if you've played the game for more than a hundred hours you at least know the basics of PLAYING killer, even if not that specific one, however a genuinely new player won't know that. Hell even if the majority of your playtime has been spent playing SURVIVOR you'd still know more about playing killer than a complete newbie.

AFAIK wraith's been a tree for ages actually. I don't get the fascination with making hag a cabbage though

I mean kind of? His "hair" has always been like kinda twiggy/branchy, but his body seemed fairly normal, if not a tad lanky. Cabbage hag was a neat OG shop skin, but now it's like: Can they be something other than plant people lol?

Trapper has a similar problem in that they don't seem to want to design a skin for him where he's not wearing coveralls.

...? So it's a bait because you disagree with it? Yep... Survivor nonsense.

I make rational points to discuss. Survivors shouldn't have second chance (hatch) and killers nothing, so I proposed NOED as an example only. Provide context next time my logical survivor friend.

It's bait because it's utter nonsense. So if NOED gets to be basekit Adrenaline should too, they're two sides of the same coin after all. That's how nonsensical your argument is.

Also NOED is a crutch, if you can't get a kill without it. DS has a counter, slug. BT has a counter, go after the person who unhooked. Like, I can see your bias from 1000 yards.

  • First it was toolboxes, now medkits. No. Let the survivors have something christ.

The problem with this assessment and conclusion that all survivors who die on first hook do not take into account the mechanic built-in to attempt to escape. It also doesn't take into account people who legitimately die on first hook, spending absolute minutes repeatedly pressing a single button.

That mechanic exists to allow survivors their own chance to escape the hook. 4% Roll the dice. Play your cards right. Use certain perks and those chances increase dramatically, one of them even lets you successfully get off the hook every time.

Saying that people shouldn't use those mechanics, even if it's a detriment to their team, is basically punishing someone for playing the game.

Sure sure, you can simply wave this argument away by saying something like, "But the devs can build a system that recognizes these things, then there's no problem! Problem solved!" That kind of system takes a lot more time than you think it does. It also can't take into account every nuanced reason why someone did or did not attempt to escape off the hook. And punishing players who want to roll the dice and get off the hook themselves because they realize that either their teammates are too busy to care, or you're being facecamped and just don't want to be in this game anymore, or any number of reasons that aren't "I hate this map/killer I'm gonna throw myself at the hook and die," is just spitting at people fairly using game mechanics.

You might as well remove the mechanic if you're going to punish people for using the mechanic "too much."

    Thank you!

Thanks for contributing to the discussion. Not sure how it is sauce bait but I guess more survivor nonsense.

You literally made a post the other day asking for NOED to be basekit. What else could this be but epic bait?

Hope it's gonna be a different pre-objectives like preparing the gens to repair like collecting tools, gasoline etc. It would be cool 😍

This is what I've been wanting for FOREVER. Make the game more interesting, more map exploration.

If the Survivor is hooked within a certain amount of time after the trial has started, has spent less than a certain amount of time total on the hook, and dies in one hook, it would qualify. Give it a decent threshold so that the occasional misstep because of a missed button mash or something isn't liable to be punished.

I still say no, this is just a fairly non-competitive video game with (generally) very short matches. It's not like LoL where matches last anywhere for 30mins to an hour, and not nearly as competitive (though the snowball potential might be just as bad). The only reason the game prob feels longer than it actually is is because of queue timers.

If someone wants to quit they should be able to quit. If they actually addressed the issues on WHY people quit then maybe this would have validity. But because the snowball in DbD can be so unreal I don't blame someone if they're just like, "######### this I'm out."

Jake looks fine tho??? Nea I think only needs slightly more visible eyebrows. I get that she's supposed to be an OG blonde (or so I've heard), so I guess that's why her eyebrows are pale/nonexistent but it just LOOKS weird. Otherwise I think she looks fine.

A time out penalty for excessively killing themselves on hook. Like, doing so at a rate where there is absolutely no justification.

How will they keep track of this though? What will count? Only from first hook? Will second hook count? What if you miss a struggle button mash and #########? What if you try to kobe and fail and miss a struggle button mash? Does that count? What if a bug doesn't allow you to struggle? What if you just NEVER get saved? Will that count? How will they be able to differentiate?

If it's just person died on first hook X amount of times today that still doesn't mean anything. Sometimes you get ######### teammates game after game, who don't save you till struggle or don't even SAVE YOU at all. Again, HOW will they differentiate?

Killing yourself on hook is literally an option the game gives you, if a person doesn't want to play through that match they shouldn't be forced to. Which is what this will do.

  • They have no way to differentiate between someone using the "leave match" button to someone literally pulling the plug. I sincerely doubt they could find a way to differentiate WHEN you try to ######### on first hook. Also again, what punishment are you going to GIVE them. A time out penalty for killing themselves on hook? ######### no. You wanna make people leave in droves? This is how you do it.

DBD is not LoL, it is not competitive like LoL, the matches last far less time, it is a FAR easier game with less mechanics, it doesn't need a "leaver penalty" for SUICIDING on hook. They already have a penalty for d/cs (which can be an actual problem), deal with it.

  • Yeah that's bs. I don't even understand how that could happen?

  • @NursesBootie said:

Nope her trap effect addons like exhaustion or mangled are pretty useless.

Well maybe the add-ons, Idk, I haven't really played pig yet? But I thought the whole point of putting a trap on someone was to get them to (hopefully, if they don't get it off in the first attempt) waste time searching boxes, giving you time to pressure gens or chase and down other survivors? Otherwise you just game them a fancy helmet for...reasons???

  • @Gylfie said:

I just wish they had phrased it along the lines of "Be alive at the time a survivor escapes the trial 3 times". The word "survive" really threw me off, because it sounds like you have to escape as well. In reality, it's fine if you die. I helped two people escape but got caught right at the exit and died. Still got 2/3.

Yeah, see that's what I thought as well.
