Excessive dcing is already punished, but the team is testing a new system, as you can read in the Developer Update:

Welcome to the November edition of our Developer Update, a series of posts detailing upcoming changes and our progress on ongoing issues. As always, we’ll start by recapping on previous topics before jumping into future updates.
Dedicated Servers
For a little over a month, dedicated servers have been live on the PC version of the game. Over the course of this test, we have often been asked why the servers were left on without any updates. We’d like to take this opportunity to explain a little more about this test.
First and foremost, we can tweak certain values behind the scenes without requiring a game update. This includes things like what the game deems to be an acceptable connection and various matchmaking elements. This way, we can test a variety of changes without forcing everyone to update their game repeatedly.
Leaving the servers on also allows us to collect far more feedback. We are hard at work making sure that as many gameplay issues as possible are ironed out before the full launch of dedicated servers. We have been including fixes for some of the most pressing issues in recent updates, including a fix for delayed stalking in the 3.3.2 hotfix. Thanks to the reports we have received thus far, we are looking to improve certain Killer powers, perks (e.g. Dead Hard), and the interaction system (e.g. Kicking Pallets or Generators).
Finally, this test gives us an opportunity to test the upcoming disconnection handling system, which allows us to better punish people who disconnect excessively. We want to make sure that disconnects are being tracked accurately so players aren’t wrongly timed out, and to do so, we need to leave dedicated servers enabled in order to test the new detection. In case you missed it, you can find the details of this system here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/73858/
The Archives
With the last Mid-Chapter patch, we launched a brand-new feature: The Archives. We are happy to see the mostly positive reception so far, although we are taking note of feedback as well. We’d like to address some of the common feedback we’ve received from this first Rift and Tome.
One of the main talking points is the difficulty of the first Tome. The first level of this Tome is fairly easy to complete, often taking only one match to complete a given challenge. This was an intentional decision by our team; we wanted to make sure that this level served as an introduction to The Archives so everyone could get an understanding of how the feature works.
At the same time, due to an error, some of you may have seen a sneak peek of the fourth level of the Tome. This level is significantly more difficult than the first. The intention is for the levels to gradually become more challenging the further you progress. With that in mind, we intend to use the following levels to gather feedback and adjust future levels and Tomes if needed.
We had also previously announced the dates each level of the Tome would release. However, due to the unforeseen delay of the 3.3.0 update, we needed to push back the release dates for these levels to match. The new dates are as follows:
- Tome I: Level 2 – November 13th
- Tome I: Level 3 – November 27th
- Tome I: Level 4 – December 18th
Exclusive Cosmetics
Alongside the launch of Chapter 14, we’ll be granting everyone the following cosmetics:
- Chuckles (Trapper – Ultra Rare Mask)
- Dweard (Dwight – Ultra Rare Head)
- Sharp Mustache Jake (Jake – Ultra Rare Head)
- Studded Jacket (Jake – Ultra Rare Body)
- Retro Windbreaker (Claudette – Ultra Rare Body)
- Claudette’s Weekend Shirt (Claudette – Ultra Rare Body)
- Purple Cords (Claudette – Ultra Rare Legs)
- Leather Hoodie (Meg – Ultra Rare Body)
- Retro Sneakers (Meg – Ultra Rare Legs)
- The BIG Hat (Ace – Ultra Rare Head)
- The TPGS Hat (Ace – Ultra Rare Head)
- Lazer Bears Victory Polo (Feng Min – Ultra Rare Body)
- Lazer Victory Shorts (Feng Min – Ultra Rare Pants)
- Donkey Jacket (David King – Ultra Rare Body)
- Hound (The Huntress – Event Mask)
- Untamed Donkey Jacket (David King – Event Body)
- Pro-Pain Hammer (The Hillbilly – Event Weapon)
- Free Song Bird Slip Dress (Kate Denson – Event Body)
There are a few reasons why we’ve decided to unlock these cosmetics for everyone. To start, most these cosmetics were unlocked using Steam codes and could not be unlocked on the console versions of the game, meaning we couldn’t give these codes to console players. Given this limitation, we have moved away from exclusive items in recent years and want to continue the trend of making cosmetics available to all PC and console players equally.
Most importantly, the codes for these cosmetics were also being sold by code resellers for exorbitant amounts of money. Others were taking advantage of this by creating fake listings to scam people out of their money. This is not something we endorse, and not something we are able to support if someone does fall victim to one of these scams.
By giving these cosmetics to all PC and console players, we hope to put an end to shady resellers and scams while also including everyone, regardless of the platform they play on.
Future Events
Recently, we’ve changed the way we handle in-game events and wanted to take a moment to explain why we’re putting elaborate objectives on hold. Unique event objectives take a huge amount of time to create and test, taking up time that could be spent fixing bugs and creating new content that’s available year-round. Going forward, events will be focused around extra Bloodpoints (through Offerings and/or Blood Hunts), Archive challenges, and event-exclusive rewards within the free track of The Rift. This allows us to focus our efforts on game health, which we ultimately feel is for the best.
Spirit Changes
The last thing we’d like to talk about today are the changes coming to The Spirit in the 3.4.0 update. The Spirit has been a polarizing subject recently with a lot of players finding her to be frustrating to play against. We also noticed that she appears to be performing far above expectations. With all this in mind, we have made a few adjustments that should make her feel fairer for everyone.
Collision during Yamaoka’s Haunting
Currently, the Spirit maintains her collision while using her power. Since phasing prevents The Spirit from seeing Survivors, any time she bumps into something she can’t see, she immediately knows that a Survivor is there. This takes a big part of the skill and counterplay out of the equation, allowing her to know exactly where someone is before reappearing. With this in mind, we have removed collision from The Spirit while she is using her power.
Window vaulting animation
Although The Spirit appears to climb through a window from the Killer’s perspective, a Survivor currently sees her stand at the window briefly before phasing through it. This left the Survivor with very little time to react, leaving the Survivor to guess whether she’s actually vaulting the window and hope for the best. The Spirit will now play a window vaulting animation from the Survivor’s perspective.
Adjusted speed curve post-phase
The Spirit currently retains her phasing speed for a short period of time after exiting her power before returning to her normal 4.4m/s movement speed. We have altered this curve to be more gradual, similar to The Wraith.
Add-on changes
We have also done a pass on some of The Spirit’s more problematic add-ons.
The Katana Tsuba
- Decreased the post phase speed boost duration from +0.25 seconds to +0.2 seconds.
Wakizashi Saya
- Decreased the post phase speed boost duration from +0.5 seconds to +0.3 seconds.
These add-ons allowed The Spirit to cover a large distance very quickly after phasing. By toning these add-ons down, she will now need to be closer to the Survivor after phasing in order to follow up and get a hit.
Yakuyoke Amulet
- Removed recharge rate modifier.
- Increased haunting duration bonus from +1 second to +3.5 seconds.
- Decreased haunting speed modifier from +10% to -15%.
This add-on increased various aspects without any tradeoff, making it a clear choice in any loadout. This change gives the add-on a more unique identity, trading movement speed for extra duration.
White Hair Ribbon
- Decreased charge speed bonus from +30% to +20%.
Bloody Hair Brooch
- Decreased charge speed bonus from +50% to +30%.
Prayer Beads Bracelet
- Phasing sound effect is now global and can be heard anywhere in the map rather than silent.
By far the most controversial add-on, Prayer Beads Bracelet would previously hide the sound effect that would play when The Spirit is phasing outside of her husk’s terror radius. This meant that Survivors were constantly at risk of being pulled off a generator with no warning or chance to react. By making this sound global, Survivors need to be on edge, as they won’t know whether she’s near them. This allows the Survivor to choose if they want to take a risk and continue what they’re doing, or if they want to play it safe and move away.
These changes will be included in the 3.4.0 update and will also be available for testing in the upcoming Player Test Build.
This concludes the November edition of the Developer Update. Be sure to let us know what you think!

You'll get your cosmetics back with everyone else.
@Peanits said:
Why unlock the event cosmetics?
Unfortunately the way these event cosmetics were stored made it possible for certain players to lose them at random. They would need to be returned manually, but doing so ran the risk of causing further loss of progress.

@Aurelionunu please read this then:

Why are these cosmetics not in the list?
BLOODLETTING
Bloodletting was a promotion for ordering items on our first merchandise store (the old one) for a limited period of time. Since players payed for it, we do not want to unlock the Bloodletting shirt for all.
LEGACY
Unless we are able to identify every player that lost legacy, it will not come back. At the moment, we are still unable to identify the players that lost their legacy, therefore, we are not refunding or unlocking legacy.
TWITCH / KINGKONGTV / PANDATV
As per our arrangement with these partners, we cannot distribute the cosmetics to all players.
SWITCH TRAPPER
As per our arrangement with the platform, the cosmetic is to remain exclusive to the platform.
L4D
As per our arrangement with the platform, the promotion is effective on Steam only.
STREAMER COSMETICS
As per our arrangements with streamers, they will not be distributed and unlocked for every player. You can get a large number of streamer exclusives in the Charity Case.

I don’t completely disagree.
I’m more so asking because I want to know why constructive posts that can really generate some discussion are banished to “Feedback and Suggestions”.
Meanwhile there are several pages of “General Discussion” with posts just like this. Especially on the same topic, which often have less discussion and more fighting between users on each post.
You are talking like threads in that section will never get seen.
Feedback and Suggestions is not a place outside time and space that no one can access, it's the best place to post feedback and/or suggestions about different topics and have them organized so the devs can see what the community thinks about a specific matter.
A rant is not feedback or a suggestion and just to be clear, it's easier to miss a thread in General Discussions for how fast and full that section is than losing it in Feedback.
On top of that, a lot of people navigate through the forum using Recent Discussions and not the specific section.

Se riesci anche a farci uno screenshot della tile esatta, sarebbe d'aiuto.
Per poter vedere su che tile sei, premi ESC nel punto in cui rimani bloccato, appena al di sotto delle Offerings si trova il nome della tile.

I suggest you to check out some gameplay on Youtube or Twitch, it's a very specific and unique genre and it's better to judge by yourself.

Enable crossplay option
Sometime in the next few weeks, PC players will notice a new option labeled “Enable Crossplay”.
When this option is enabled, PC players will be able to match and play against both Steam and Microsoft Store players. While we understand that expectations are high, we want to reiterate that crossplay is only available between PC versions of the game for the time being.
F.A.Q.
Q: Can I transfer my progress from Steam / XBOX to the Windows Store version?
A: No, it is not possible to transfer your progress right now.
Q: Will I be able to add friends from another platform (IE. Adding a Steam player on Windows Store)?
A: Initially, you will not be able to add friends from another platform. Enabling the “Enable Crossplay” only allows the matchmaker to pair you with all PC players.
Q: Will crossplay be extended to the console versions of the game in the future?
A: We would like to offer the same treatment for all platforms. We do not have an ETA at this time, but we will keep you posted as new information becomes available.
Q: Will Dead by Daylight Mobile be receiving crossplay as well?
A: Crossplay is not planned for Dead by Daylight Mobile.

That option is there for a reason, for example if you get held hostage you have a way to leave the match.
The issue is not the option, but the abuse of it.

To me the whole threshold system is outdated, dc, doesn't matter why should result in a cd for x hours and that should be increased with each dc and no reset for it, you don't have to perma ban people for that.
It will put a stop to dcing especially since even when those special people use a diffrent account the next dc of them isn't far away.
Is there any news on when the servers testing will be complete?
I'm sure they will announce when the testing is complete.
And I agree the system can be improved, there's no doubt about it.
-
You can't expect someone to get banned for dcing in a Custom Game and for sure we can't ban for something that happened 3 years ago.
Who says we are underestimating it?
We punish people for it, we punish people who suggest and encourage it on our platforms, a new system can be implemented on the dedicated servers in the future, so I don't think anyone is underestimating anything.

I've been seeing a good number of AFK killers (well, bots actually) ever since the Rift was introduced. Is BHVR planning to do something about that? Maybe to add better XP incentives to not AFK (emblem XP bonus sorely needs to be looked at).
My brother last night and earlier today was complaining to me that the only way he will ever be able to complete the Rift is if he goes into matches AFK whilst he's doing his work and I've been trying to encourage him not to go completely AFK, but he sees no other way. There is literally no way he will ever be able to complete the Rift otherwise, even if he did every single challenge. He works too many hours and grinding for the shards takes too many more.
Heck, I played for four hours last night from 7:00 P.M to 11:00 P.M. and didn't even go up a single tier, after getting four first match of the day bonuses, two from survivor and two from killer.
If there are issues, they will be looked into.

Well, even the dumbest surv main caught the message, that DCs are tracked automatically. This means, even the scummiest DC - to say it with the words of a fog whisperer: DC strat for Hatch - will not be punished if it gets reported by a ticket or ingame.
People will only be punished if the DC "excessively"
For obvious reasons people (not just survs) feel pretty safe since the DC-ratio must be pretty high to strike in. I mean people even have their "DC rules" on their profile. Do this or that and i'll be gone and you depip - muhahaha.
I'm not only complaining from a killer's side of view. As a survivor, that never DCs intentionally it just sucks to have a snowflake in your team. The game is usually lost and 600 points for being abandoned wont change anything.
The community has been promised a DC punishment when the servers go live, since devs "can track DCs and see if it was intentional or caused by the game"
What you are quoting has been taken out of context from a Custom Game, during a Tournament with its own rules.
As I already said we do not approve or encourage DCing, there's a system to punish it and I'd like to remind you that the servers are still in a testing phase, until they are not on every platform, they won't be considered live, so you can't expect to have a new system ready and implemented.
@JiggleWiggle There's an escalation process, from a week ban to a permaban, you can find all the information you need in this thread:

We explained this many times, DCing is punished, we don't allow it or encourage it at all.

The best way to progress through the rift after you have done all your challenges is to play killer and just afk, since the rift fragment progress exp is tied to your game time (1sec=1exp totalling to 600 which is the cap for one game).
I just queue up as killer and go do something else periodically checking if my game is over to queup again.
It baffles me that the devs thought that this was a good idea, the only worse battle pass system I've come across was activisions cod battle pass and I don't think that BHVR wants to be associated with them after building up good will for this long.
The best way to progress is playing the game properly, we do not encourage farming or the behavior you are suggesting.

I've also seen posts here within the last week where people openly talk about when they think it's acceptable to DC and those posts are allowed to stay up. If they really intended to punish DC's why would they allow posts that encourage DC'ing to stay up?
Report those posts if you see them, we do punish for encouraging DC'ing.

I agree with this. It's hard to believe that the DC punishment threshold is not ridiculously high considering BHVR only ever gives vague answers like "if they DC enough."
If it was something reasonable, one would think they'd have no problem telling us what the threshold is.
If people knew the exact threshold, some of them would start dcing more because they would know the amount of games they can leave without repercussions.
-
Temporary bans don't appear on the user's profile, so it's hard to tell if they are getting banned or not.
-
Again, if they dc enough, they get punished.
-
You can discuss even if it's in the Polls section.

Nothing happens to them. Thats what I was hoping dedicated servers would fix
That's not true, if they DC enough, they'll get punished.

DCs don't have to be reported, they are automatically tracked.
If you have doubts about what can be reported or not, you can find all the information you need in this thread:

We now have a team Associate Community Managers, as well as an updated in-game report system.
With your help, we will be able to find the players who are creating a bad game experience and punish them appropriately, making the game a better place.HOW TO REPORT A PLAYER
You may only report things that happen directly to you or in a game that you were in.
Reporting for other people is not allowed and these reports will be discarded.

You are free to discuss the topic, but please be respectful and don't attack or insult others for no reason.
-
I want to remind you all to keep the discussion civil and respectful, no need to attack or insult others over a different opinion.
-
@MissBehavingX in game reports are mandatory, then, depending on the offense, you can send any additional evidence (like videos or screenshots) and the player's profile to support, submitting a ticket here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com .
-
You can open a thread here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/localization and explain the issue.
-
You have already been warned once, but you kept being disrespectful towards one another, so I decided to close this thread.
-
Noodle legs was my favourite too.
-
DC's are automatically tracked, so don't report them, thank you.
-
Problemi noti
-
I don't really think the financial situation of a company is something that can be expected to be made public on the forums.
-
Please keep it civil and discuss about the topic, don't attack one another over a different opinion.
Also keep your private quarrels for yourself, no need to discuss them on the forum.
-
I decided to close this thread because people were just being offensive towards russian players for no reason.
As explained there's not a server in Russia, so they have to play on EU or Asia servers.
-
Please try to keep the discussion civil, no need to insult or attack one another over different opinions, thank you.
-
They do read, even if they don't answer to everything.
You can see yourself Peanits commenting on a good amount of posts basically on a daily basis.
-
Hey, if this person keeps doing it and you collect enough video evidence over the course of several matches, please report them in-game and contact support under https://support.deadbydaylight.com/ Explain that this user has been doing this continously and doesn't seem to stop.
If a user does this continously and only singles you out each time, it can be considered griefing and harassment.
Please make sure to have video evidence from 8+ matches.

(but not breaking any sortof TOS nor being offensive).
How Cute.
Nothing like that, your comment was just in the spam filter because you edited it.

In game reports are mandatory, so sadly we can't do anything about it.
