I'd love it, but the devs have said they won't look into her for another four years, or something. I still believe the only reason the 'small tweak,' a.k.a. cooldown on her cooldown, was even implemented was because they ran out of ideas for her addons. Hence, why half of them are trash, and 1/4 of them are for memes.
-
Am I the only one getting annoyed at these few posts that act as blanket statements? 'I can do this well, thus my way is correct and everybody that can't just isn't skilled.'
It's also like players don't understand what Ruin was for. Ruin was meant to buy, at most, two extra minutes in the early game to get the ball rolling, not last all match. There are other ways to slow the game down, sure, and on small maps, you can pressure pretty well with nearly every killer. Yet Ruin enabled me to not have to sweat out my pores because two gens pop by the time I circle the map once, thus forcing me to slug slug slug.Survivors would have a decent match, i would have a decent match, everybody was usually happy. Now, nobody is happy.
-
We fix her plethora of bugs that the devs are either unwilling or unable to actually fix for good.
-
It's all rng. Most of the time survivors get out of my traps in two to three tries. Sometimes it makes it feel like I don't eve have traps out, seeing how fast they can get out.
-
I am. I want to get my killer to rank one for the first time, so I can actually say I've been to rank one before. After that, not so much.
-
He isn't? You can bait his shock, or simply drop a pallet sooner. There's enough on the map to do so. That shock needs to be precise in order to actually delay/deny a pallet drop or vault, so you simply need to know the timings.

But as I said, once someone leaves a locker and screams, no one else will enter a locker for the rest of the match
I combo Iron Maiden with BBQ on my Huntress. Believe me, they still hop into lockers to evade BBQ.
But yeah, 60 seconds is too long. 25 sounds about right. And slap Hemorrhage onto it for the duration. It IS an Iron Maiden, after all.
-
Killers aren't people, didn't you hear? They're AI to be beaten by actual players. So, bring what you want, the AI will just need to live with it.
-
@Name_Unavailable Getting a blind on me that isn't from a pallet is rare. I learned early on to face walls when picking up, looking up or to the side when carrying. So, flashlights themselves don't bother me. I'll admit, I used to get tilted over the clicky clicky, as amusing as it sounds. I would get annoyed pretty easily, and that was near the top.
But, after a hundred hours or so invested, it finally dawned on me that when they're baiting for a chase, they aren't doing gens, rescuing, or healing. They're literally doing 1/4th of my job for me. That basically meant I only needed to deal with three survivors. Things settled into place after that. So, while I may bat an eye when I see a swarm of flashlights, I know how to deal with them. I prefer them over keys and toolboxes.
Unless I'm playing Hag. Then I'll tunnel you into the dirt to keep my precious traps alive.
-
Remember, only survivors can have fun.

3 GAMES IN A ROW! I repeat, 3 GAMES IN A ROW! We placed 2+ BPS and as soon as the exit gates triggered the killer DC! WHAT?! Dude! All your BPs!
Probably because you gen rushed the life out of him in four minutes, vault spammed/clicky clicky to annoy them, then teabagged out the exit gate.
-
No. I wouldn't say it was a failure, because the devs never intended for it to be any good. They didn't like the slow down, or that it 'frustrated new and inexperienced survivors.' Old Ruin is dead, and New Ruin was never meant to be a replacement. I mean, with wording like 'insidious,' can you expect anything else from it?
As for the perk itself, it's fine. If it lasts a minute while I'm chasing, I figure it did its job. I don't run it, because of it's Hex status. At least with Devour, you can get three hooks before they realize it's in place. New Ruin is just mediocre. I can get better results with PGTW, and not have to rely on the rng aspect of the Hex spawns.
I still get a kick out of the devs believing it's a late game perk. Always get a chuckle out of that, before I cry a little on the inside.
-
Probably because half the time they aren't even used for saves. They're used for clicky clicky, to get your attention and pull you into a chase. It's not so much what they do, but what they symbolize. I always go into a match with the mindset to ignore them, since a good amount of time they're used to annoy me.

You mean it’s actually far more powerful than people realize? And especially effective if you don’t just decide to tunnel one survivor all game and ignore the rest?
Yet at the same time, completely worthless in higher levels of play due to it still being a Hex

Tell that to Head On and OoO.

A fun chase is different from ghostface freely sneaking around and cheesing out insta-downs while I'll doing a gen, going for a save or healing a teammate. Maybe that's fun when playing killer but I like a lil bit of reaction time before a red circle appears out of nowhere and gf (still having no terror radius) popping out of nowhere and swinging on me.
OoO doesn't have counterplay, aside from stealth killers, though. Again, you said you use it since you're looking for a chase. That wastes a killers time. Either the killer tunnels you to death, which is usually a lost game, or they ignore you, and have to deal with you telling your team everything they're doing. That's not counterplay.
GF may put a cramp in that style, but that's one killer. OoO is just annoying for most everybody, and detrimental to Trapper and, a lesser extent, Hag.
-
Could be a dedicated server thing, at least, for the second part. I know if you don't charge enough, she'll swallow. Are you sure, after you do hit them, they aren't infected? Look at their portrait in the lower left. If it's yellow, they're infected. If it isn't, then yeah, sounds like a hiccup with dedicated servers.
-
Just don't play. If they bring more toolboxes than you're comfortable with, remove addons/offerings, stand in a corner near the gate, and let them M1 their gens. They obviously want to do that more than play a match, give it to them. Even pop the gate for them when all five go off, because you're a generous killer. Reap the salt afterward.
-
Stop the 'tunneling' nonsense, actual good survivors, rise!
-
I'm okay with Wraith, since he just doesn't have that much to go with. Unless he goes and whacks them upside the head with his bell. I'll admit, that would be amusing.
Traper, though, should use his traps. Maybe force them into it?

Yes I have and usually the player using OoO gets camped and/or tunneled. Even when I run it, I don't go in in expecting to survive. I just want some fun chases.
What I don't like is how killers in "undetected" status can still see your aura with object. It's just free wall hacks for stealth killers with NO downside. If auras are blocked, they should be blocked for both survivor AND killer. This is how it works on EW1 michael (but only him for some reason) and I think that's how it was intended for all killers. So if anything OP saying that Object "hard countering" killers is extremely incorrect because stealth killers hard counter Object right now.
Why shouldn't the stealth killer see OoO? You said yourself you're looking for fun chases. Doesn't get more 'fun' than that. Plus, it's only when they're undetected. GF is out of his power or Pig is running around, you can see them just fine.
-
Because there aren't enough killer players to fill out every match, so current matchmaking keeps grabbing anybody it can, no matter the rank.
-
I'm fine with it on solo, but on a SWF, where you usually see it pop up? Yeah, remove that, please.
-
I run BBQ/Distressing/PGTW/Sloppy. I'll sometimes swap out BBQ for Overwhelming or Lullaby, or Sloppy for Lullaby. Been having a lot of fun hearing the BANGBANGBANG all the time.
-
I played on two last night.
-
It's not Inner that they're pairing it with. It's Head on. Pop into a locker, you go to grab them, Head On stun, pop back in, DS. Or DS, pop into a locker, Head On. It's rather infuriating.
-
Nurse, but a long shot. Half the time you can't even use her power, due to bugs, and the other half you're just waiting around for a blink to actually land.
-
Too big? Huh. I don't have an issue with the size, just how dark the map itself is.
-
I personally don't actually play the match. Unequip offerings/addons, find a corner, and just stand there, preferably with your back to the map so as they don't get chase points. Let them do their gens, since that's what they wanted to do in the first place, over an actual match. Usually they're bring some great bp offerings, which are wasted. When all gens are popped, open the gate yourself, and let them leave. Gotta admit, the salt I've been dished out from this makes the three minutes waiting worth it.

I suspect it might be a monitor brightness issue. I have no problems with it on mine - it's darker than most other maps, but not to the extent that I find it difficult to make out objects because of it.
Not a monitor issue, thankfully. Maybe my eyes, because I have some difficulty with Yamaoka map as well, though only in specific parts. Sanctum just appears really dark to me. I can make out the map, but during chases, survivors can simply disappear with how dark the corners, around rocks, and in certain patches of reeds. Especially when they're using dark themed skins.
-
I'd say remaining survivors should also get some points for having to deal with that. Not just because it's fair, but because devs feed on survivors, so, give some incentive.
But yes, I agree. I once went from rank 6 to 8 because I had a dc in nearly every match I played. It's infuriating. Black pip, please!
-
Last night ranks up there. Faced a 4 man running meta perks. I thought I was in for a sweaty game, but no. Hook one, they all bum rushed that hook like it was a million dollars. One guy spent a good three minutes just bouncing into lockers, while another vault spammed at the killer shack. I just had to stand there for a few seconds and figure out what was going on. Even had a few instances where they sandbagged eachother. I'd be in a chase, one would head for a pallet, and before they got there, somebody slapped it on them. It was odd.
Post game, they said they were doing it for the memes.

Tunneling isn't playing well. I do agree DS should deactivate in certain scenarios but I disagree that DS doesn't discourage tunneling.
Tunneling isn't playing well for whom? It is for the killer, because it gets a survivor out of the way. Much easier to run against three players than four.
-
He needs two changes in my book. The first is the ability to destroy his own portals. Right now, any bad placement and he's down part of his power. If he could destroy them, he'd have more flexibility. Make it so he has to be on top of them to do so, for the sake of balance.
The second is is addons. They're pretty bad. Why do so few affect his Shred? Why aren't there any that silence his wide range of noises? Why aren't there any that give more awareness to survivors breaking his portals? Again, pretty bad.

in todays society you cant be too sure of that. haha but i understand you lol
however I never once refered to me having difficulty with noed so I don't know why everyone keeps saying "you" to me as this is a topic about new survivors being gunned down by it.
Because you're talking from a place that you aren't in. You've said yourself you're not a new player. Yet, you're speaking for them. NOED is a learning experience, much like everything else. Take a minute out of the match to clear totems, or suffer in the endgame. It's more relevant now, because without Old Ruin, games go by in several minutes. So instead of building for the early game, killers aim for the end game. New players will learn this, just like everything else.

AGAIN im not talking about me, im talking about people who havent played much at all, please read everything I feel like no one has reading comprehension here
If many people are all saying one thing, and you're saying something different, then maybe the issue isn't on their end.

Is this a bait thread? This feels like a bait thread with extra steps added in.
-
I've noticed this myself. I figure it's dedicated servers being annoying.

The Ruin change itself isn't all that bad. It's when and why it was implemented. Ruin was used, for the most part, due to have fast matches go without it. That early game slowdown gave slow killers some breathing room. To remove it, without adjusting toolboxes and map sizes, was pretty crippling. One bad chase and the games over.
As for the why, well, 'new and inexperienced survivors' found it frustrating, because apparently they couldn't hit skill checks. If the devs had simply said from the onset that they're looking at match speeds, and Ruin inhibited that, that would be okay. But to phrase the patch notes when the Ruin change was first spoken of as 'new/inexperienced frustration' and '80% red rank killer games,' it left a very sour taste in ones mouth.
Personally, I didn't run Ruin because I enjoyed it. Most of the time, I was just running three perks. But I ran it to give me an extra 30 seconds - 2 minutes, in order to get the ball rolling. Now, I have to play dirty, at least by the survivors handbook, in order to get things done.

You have to know when it's right to charge a blink, it's something good Nurses need to know and learn. It's part of her mindgame. Charge it too much and survivors might double back, so you angle the blink slightly down to kill some of that distance. Having the option to cancel the blink would be a little too good imo and there wouldn't really be any way to counter that as a survivor.
And yet that's precisely what Demo can do, and I haven't seen any 'nerf Demo' posts regarding his Shred bait.

A lot of people (me included) are quite simply used to saying GG almost automatically after a match unless there was a straight up cheater in it or something. That's how it has been in most games I've played throughout my life.
If someone thinks "no, it was bg" in their mind when they see someone say GG they can simply not respond. If they look even more deeply into it and think it's some sort of ironic bait/mockery then.. well, in the vast majority of cases they simply think it's deeper than it really is. Most people would just use ggez or something if they really want to be trolls.
-
Red rank survivors bully green rank killer during match, teabag their way out the exit gates.
GG in postgame chat.
Okay then.

@BBQnDemogorgon said:
Imo keys are the biggest balance issue killers face.
Gen speeds/toolboxes are second to how bs keys are imo.
Not really. While keys are annoying, they don't show up all that often. I face a dozen toolboxes before I face a key. Would I like them changed? Yes. Do I want them changed before maps, then toolboxes? Heck no.
Though I've had survivors three gen themselves, only to find a key in a chest and make it out. Honestly, that really does tick me off.
-
So, a survivor is unhooked. I'm heading to another spot I believe somebody is at, and I find the unhooked survivor, either because they were healing behind a pallet or literally ran into me. Why should I be punished for that?
-
No to the first, since it doesn't make sense.
Yes to the second. though I'd tone it down to 10, maybe 15%. 25% will see a constant wave of dcing like we saw with Freddy Forever.
I would like the third, but it would need to be a slight over moderate increase, since her addons can do that pretty well. It couldn't be implemented with the second idea, however, as that would make it op.
Personally, I'd like to see her Corrupt be able to damage gens. No perks would work on it, it would be like a normal kick, but still. Would help her save time.
My biggest issue with Plague, aside from survivors holding her power, is EGC. If survivors make it to the EGC, they pretty much get a free escape when the cleanse. It's rather frustrating. Would like something to aid in that aside from NOED.

I would prefer a base game fix than another band-aid fix through DLC perks.
O, believe me, so would I. But we've seen how slow the team is to make any type of change to the maps. And I highly doubt any changes to toolboxes will be significant. But it's still fun to come up with new perks.

Games are heavily in the killer's favor - especially in red ranks.
Changing totem spawns and tying generator speeds together with totems would be a bad idea, as that would make Detective's Hunch useless to the long generator time.
To the OP, that would be an interesting idea for a Hex. Tying Gens to totems by themselves wouldn't fly, but a Hex with a similar effect? That would be interesting.
