Ok and no one said that anyone said you can't disconnect. The argument is, once again, that it is a dumb rule that is not healthy for the game. It causes people to stop playing and then the player base dwindles. Then whose forums will you scream nonsense at ppl on? Like why are you so hostile about an opinion? I obey the rules, i never cheat, hack, only DC when glitched or being trolled, hell I don't even BM. I would get slugged and BMed by killers just for frustrating them with long chases. So I do well and get punished by the killer AND now the devs for a DC? Absolutely not. So yea i did move on to a more fair and fun experience and for all you know, enough ppl have done the same to cause them to remove it. I don't understand what you don't understand about what we're saying. I'm not condoning DCs I'm just saying that the penalty is the wrong way to address it. It feels bad when your options are get trolled for 4 minutes or get banned for 5 or more and just because it NeVeR HaPpEnS to you doesn't invalidate the experience of others. In my 1500+ hours of this game, I have seen a lot of toxicity so you're either lying or willfully ignorant.

it is not the dumbest rule ever. on the 17th I had three disconnects for NO REASON! they didn't like being downed or something I don't know what. they were crossplay from my steam. they didn't really see it as a problem till mid 2019 and late 2019 when it really became rampant where people would dc at the drop of a hat. and if people are dcing, do you think that -75% blood points is going to do anything, since if you DC you loose ALL YOUR BLOOD POINTS, do you think a negative to blood points would matter to these people that are constantly dc'ing? heck in 2019 i knew a STREAMER that was broadcasting litterally 10 times in ONE NIGHT with flimsy excuses to just dc. Honestly if you don't like the map, or killer, or something else you're LOOKING for an EASY game so go play Hello Kitty or something else stop RUINING other people's games and fun.
1) killer can not hold you hostage unless they body block you into a corner while the rest of the team finishes the gens, opens the doors and starts EGC.
2) if the killer slugs, there is no hostage of the game why? you will die in 4 minutes. MAX.
3) YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO CONTINUE A GAME. if you don't like something you can get hooked, try to escape 3 times and not struggle bingo, you're out, no penalty, no report, no nothing because you used in match functions.
4) other games have dc penalties because it ruins the experience of other players. Behavior thought that players would actually READ the rules and policies before playing and understand they could at anytime be held accountable for transgressions, and this is the only thing Behavior is guilty of in this.
DID YOU read the EULA? DID YOU READ the rules? I DID.... maybe not right away but I did review them because I don't take too many chances. IF YOU are not having fun, go else where and stop trying to enforce your specific rules on people that don't know you what so ever. If you're in a "custom match" you can set what ever extra rules you want.
The original argument he was making was that the dc penalty is dumb because it is a rule that makes ppl not want to play the game and you're arguing with the sentiment, "if you don't like it, play something else". ...Really?
I can attest to the original argument as I used to play this game heavily. Like everyday i was on for hours and the DC penalties have cause me to leave. Now I play maybe one match a every two months, if that.
The DC penalty forces me to get bullied by salty slugging/ greedy 4k killers or toxic teabagging swfs. I wanna spend my free time having fun... not crawling on the ground doing literally nothing or getting BM (usually both). Sorry but I'm turning that off and playing Overwatch or Fallout 76. I'm not gonna participate in a game that rewards game hostage bully bs and punishes leaving a toxic situation.

Loops were infinite and heavily abused
DS was unmanageable, only counterable now with a tactic bemoaned by survivors (Slugging)
Healing speed, Healing could be done DURING THE SUCCESSFUL HIT ANIMATION
Undetectable status added because stealth killers were immediately GIMPED
Window vaults could be spammed. I got this game on PS4 early on, watched 4 survivors spamming windows, didnt even touch the game for a year afterwards.
Flashlights, when even the DEVS got bullied on a major live-stream showing off the brokenness of the system that had to be fixed ASAP
EGC was implemented because survivors would hold the game hostage t-bagging at exit gates.
Think before you smacktalk
Lol "smack talk"? Why don't you learn what smack talk is before you go telling ppl not to do it. I only listed survivor nerfs. You sound illiterate.

I dunno if it's worth taking this seriously but EGC is not killer sided. It's 50/50 they either go to the right door or the wrong one. Whispers can make this a bit faster but so can like a dozen different survivor perks.
Loops need to be shortened, arguably more of them should be on several maps.
DS nerfed, okay. Because being untouchable for a minute isn't strong, and when more than one person on the team has it the game turns into "lets slug oh wait they have unbreakable/adrenaline." It's not an anti-tunneling perk, it's an anti-killer perk. As soon as 2-3 people have it on a team you're gonna tell me I'm "tunneling the whole team" ? I don't think so.
Auras being nerfed by undetectable - yeah because you don't already invalidate stealth killers with Spine Chill and/or Sprint Burst. Lockers also work against killer aura perks and those are available to all survivors all over. So I'd say it's pretty net neutral here. Only a few killers get Undetectable and they're usually slower and/or are so low to the ground they're blind anyway - and the killers that do would be useless otherwise.
I'm not sure how flashlights were nerfed, I haven't been here super long but they're super abuseable. Pallet stun? blind. Breaking pallet? second blind. Anytime you go near a survivor for pick up or hook? better hope they don't unbreakable while you chase the flashlight because they'll blind you the second you're locked into any animation. And on top of that they can chain blinds especially if more than one have a flashlight AND they counter killers' traps or powers (Hag/Wraith/Nurse) so like.. I don't really care if they were nerfed anyway they're super abuseable lol.
Not sure how window vaults were nerfed but you're still hella faster than any killer (except maybe legion but who plays legion for anything other than farming bloodpoints, they can't actually kill anything lol)
Mending only takes 8-12 seconds. Standard health states take 16 seconds. That's nothing and there are an ass tonne of items and perks that make that faster meanwhile the only killer perks that really interact with it require a lot of investment (dying light) or are generally just easily countered (thana, sloppy) since they only add like 2-4 seconds healing time anyway. Gens only take 80 seconds at base and a health state is 16 seconds at base. You can heal the second the killer moves onto another chase or gen and not really "lose" time because you can finish gens faster than it takes the killer to even walk over to them lol (42 seconds for 2 people to work on a gen or 80 seconds for 2. one person looping and one person rescuing)
This part is to both of you since you COMPLETELY missed my point. I'm not talking about whether the nerfs were necessary or not. I disagree with some and agree that some were needed.
I'm listing all the Survivor nerfs from recent updates to counter the people saying the devs don't touch survivors and this game is so "survivor sided". Ruin gets nerfed and suddenly everyone forgets about all the balance changes they've made to survivors recently.
-
All exhaustion perks nerfed
Loops shortened
DS nerfed
Healing speed nerfed
Auras nerfed (by undetected status)
Window vaults nerfed
Flashlights nerfed to hell
EGC is massively killer sided
Just a few things to keep in mind when ppl say the devs are survivor sided. Meanwhile, killers been getting buffs and maps reworked to be easier for killers.
-
Yes, the reveal distance should always match the stalk distance. Allowing him to stalk from a distance that a survivor can't reveal him is just gross.
He doesn't even have to sneak because all you can do is try to hide behind a cover while he gradually stalks and gets closer OR run and let him expose you while you're running. Why doesn't fully stalking a survivor(s) not auto reveal him? Like he already got you exposed and he gets to chase with no TR or red stain too?
He's just such a cheese killer, at least old nurse had a high skill cap. I had to get destroyed a lot before I could even get a 2k but playing Cheeseface just feels, as someone said before "cheap".

i think they should have it so killer see's the survivor no matter what and survivor see's the killer no matter what equal balance
long as ur looking in their direction i mean
This is how it has worked on EW1 michael since his release and what I assumed would happen with every killer but for some reason, it didn't.
That was also weird cause the wraith was already in the game, yet OoO revealed him when cloaked but not michael? Why would they not have that work for both stealth killers in the game at that time?
Either way i agree with you, as a survivor, I'd rather it just block both auras rather than punish survivors for using a unique and fun perk with free one sided wall hacks for killers.
-
@Rivyn said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1070639#Comment_1070639
Why shouldn't the stealth killer see OoO? You said yourself you're looking for fun chases. Doesn't get more 'fun' than that. Plus, it's only when they're undetected. GF is out of his power or Pig is running around, you can see them just fine.
A fun chase is different from ghostface freely sneaking around and cheesing out insta-downs while I'm doing a gen, going for a save or healing a teammate. Maybe that's fun when playing killer but I like a lil bit of reaction time before a red circle appears out of nowhere and gf (still having no terror radius) popping out of nowhere and swinging on me.
Your comment doesn't make sense because the point of Ghostface's power is to sneak, stalk and not have to chase. OoO was a nice counterplay at the risk of always being seen by the killer.
-
@judge_fist said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1070409#Comment_1070409
Have you seen or experienced the plays that can be pulled with OoO?
Yes I have and usually the player using OoO gets camped and/or tunneled. Even when I run it, I don't go in in expecting to survive. I just want some fun chases.
What I don't like is how killers in "undetected" status can still see your aura with object. It's just free wall hacks for stealth killers with NO downside. If auras are blocked, they should be blocked for both survivor AND killer. This is how it works on EW1 michael (but only him for some reason) and I think that's how it was intended for all killers. So if anything OP saying that Object "hard countering" killers is extremely incorrect because stealth killers hard counter Object right now.
-
Removed? Like you can see the survivor at all times. Can't even look around while healing without revealing your location. It's also not very commonly used perk. You should be able to eliminate the one survivor giving you free wall hacks every 20 games and if not, it's a skill issue, not Object being OP.

Slugging ain't really counterplay considering unbreakable and no mither exist no to mention how easy it is to pick them up? And the buffs I mentioned is the counterplay being removed
I mean it only works with certain killers and bop not to mention survivors can do the same thing with distortion and sole survivor
Or if the survivor is actually good at stealth and escapes egc isn't a free kill
Ok distortion with sole survivor is WAAAY different than object being straight up broken. You get FREE wall hacks THE WHOLE GAME. Not to mention, your distortion/sole surv would take up 3 perk slots just for distortion to work 3 times. If you are really trying to justify that as fair you're the reason that some killer mains don't get taken seriously. Just too biased to make any judgement calls.
You know unbreakable is once per match and thats two perk slots wasted on a one time use perk if they need it for d-strike (worst case scenario) you can slug as much as you want. As for no mither... I mean you know they have it plus they're at one shot the whole game
-
Old exhaustion helped buy survivors time IF they could get two uses in one chase which most survivors could not. Old ruin bought killers more time without them having to do anything. Old exhaustion served the same purpose but survivors had to earn theirs by doing well in a chase. Now you're trying to justify one side cause you're biased. Ruin gave more time to do cheap no skill camp and tunnel stuff with no drawback. I'm sorry that now you have to actually pay attention to gen placement and try to gen lock survivors instead of relying on ruin cause of "mUh MobiLiTy" It gave less skilled killers a crutch to rank up with but there are many killers even on here who did and still do just fine without it. It's if necessary for you, that's on your skill level, not a balance issue.

Exhaustion got nerfed because that created actual infinites if you looped long enough
Ruin however is a hex that gets removed quickly from the game
Big difference between the strengths of both of them
They blocked off infinites, shortened loops and killers still have bloodlust. Besides its not like the average survivor can even stay up long enough to get two dead hards or sprint bursts in one chase. It used to go down much slower when running. Not to mention exhaustion addons that can completely render all exhaustion perks useless and instadowns.

Spine chill and premonition buffed against stealth killers since undetectable doesn't work against it ds was actually buffed since it got 2 extra seconds enduring doesn't work against it and dribbling is no longer a thing either
Some loops like long walls still exist and are in favor of survivors
Pallet vacuums aren't gone you can still get pulled back to the pallet and hit the killer
Egc was made to stop hatch standoffs
DS buffed? On what planet? The fact that there's a timer at all is a huge nerf. Its called slugging. It works. Even if they stun you, how hard is it to down most survivors again?
Object of obsession still shows the survivor aura when in undetected. That's straight up broken. If auras are blocked they should be blocked for both parties. Not free wall hack for killers with NO DOWNSIDE.
Yes, EGC was implemented to prevent hatch standoffs so now you get auto sacrificed... like I said, free kills.
-
I don't agree because before this one ruin nerf, most of the balance changes were nerfs against survivors. Exhaustion nerf, DS nerfed, undetected status (nerfing OoO, spine chill alert etc.), shortened loops, window vault speeds nerfed, pallet vacuums gone and the end game collapse literally gives us kills.
It's kind of sad because the devs nerf ONE training wheel perk and everything else they've done to improve killer experience goes out the window. It's only logical that they'd have to nerf something for killers after all these survivor nerfs.
-
Killers get old ruin back when survivors get old exhaustion back. Deal?
-
I think it's a fair counterplay. Survivors only get one DH per chase since the exhaustion nerf so using it to dodge ONE trap one time isn't really a big deal. It can buy a survivor a couple seconds but you still have exhaustion add-ons, bloodlust, a good setup (if you get cute with trap placement), 4 perk slots, and shorter loops (thank you devs) to help you down them. DH isn't some god tier invincibility perk; killers play around it and still do well in matches everyday. You get it ONCE now and that's when it actually works or when killers aren't running some addon or perk to completely disable it.
-
When you see survivors doing that, it's probably because either way they get exposed while running away. You act like cover is just anywhere but 9 times out of 10 you get exposed before you're properly hidden and it's not like you can reveal him from behind cover. He just follows and finishes filling it up if he didn't get it the first time and you have no way of knowing where he is. Its just "hope you don't run into him" and that's not even on open maps.
Every "solution" you provided does nothing Because no matter what you can just hide and cheese. And all of your test games don't change the fact that he cheeses out instadowns while having built in insidious AND a fast movement speed with NO counterplay.
Michael takes may more skill because his power is actually balanced while still being really strong.
Loud little brother? Nah, he's just a lazy and cheap version of MM that takes less skill and is less fun to play against.
-
@Hoodied said:

No its actually how it works, I tested it in public and private lobbies, some collisions I.E boxes won't reveal him from the other side at certain angles, if you see him coming you get out of sight so he CAN'T stalk you, wait for him to get in view and reveal him behind the cover, which is why you look around everywhere
What you do its what you DON'T do against him, if you see him coming from long range you go into hiding, not stare at him while he comes to you
He is a simple killer to counter, but everyone acts stupid when they can't reveal him from a mile away
First of all, nobody "acts stupid" when they can't reveal him from a mile away because he can expose you from a mile away. Yes even when you're "RuNnInG iNtO HiDiNg" it's not hard to stay behind obstacles and cheese it out while we're running.
Second, that's not "what I do" I'm using that as a extreme example of what you'd have to do to actually reveal him.
Third, I don't care what your friends let you do when you play on "test lobbies" in real games, what I said happens often and his detection has been a topic of complaint for a long time.
You say simple killer, I'd say cheese killer.
-
@Hoodied said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/910991#Comment_910991
I am also red ranks and play and main GhostFace, if you try to look over certain collisions it won't proc, so you need to be behind a wall to reveal him
What you're describing might be how it's supposed to work but it's not reality. And even if it was, you'd have to run around the cover to START the reveal by that time you're exposed. That's also one situation you're describing most of the time he doesn't even need cover because the detection sucks. Plus he can stalk from a further distance than you can reveal with addons.
You can see him coming, keep your camera on him and he still cheeses out an instadown. He's like michael for noobs and feels cheap.
-
@Hoodied said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/910847#Comment_910847
Actually its easier done than said, if you try to look over certain collisions you are not revealing him, so just do the good ol' jojo meme if you have to
Actually it's not. I'm red ranks and have played against cheeseface many times. The dectection never works the same way twice in a row. Not to mention he's stalking the whole time so the red circle pops up while you're trying to get the right angle.
-
All of the "just reveal him" and "just break him out of it is waaay easier said than done. Y'all know good and well that he detection on him is all messed up and doesn't reveal him until after you're already exposed most of the time.
That's without his add-ons that stop detection from a certain distance for maximum cheese.
-
That's cheeseface for you: Cheap insta-downs, with no counterplay. They shouldn't have to camp/tunnel but they do and still complain that he's "average" or "weak".
His counterplay WAS Object but that was nerfed because ironically, ppl can't tunnel the pink glowey person and they cried for nerfs. So now you just sit and wait for the red circle and teabags.

And, you know, it might not take a worldwide conspiracy for multiple people to be offended by being called hypocrite babies for no reason.

Again, you make it seem like the idea of an alt account is soo farfetched in 2019. Like it's so unlikely that it could NEVER happen.
see how sarcasm works both ways?
Also the fact the the other account was new was a sign and that you felt the need to "admit" it in the first comment shows guilt. "I'm pretty new around here but...." Who says that in real life? Lol

On the Dead Hard thread, the only comment I made was to say that I assume every survivor has it as a precaution. Hell, I even liked some of your posts about how easy it is to bait Dead Hard because that's what I was referring to when I said it.

You're "pretty new" because its a fake account made up by the guy arguing with me so you have someone to agree with you after you've been arguing with everyone here since page 1 of this thread. It's obvious and embarrassing.

They ARE defending the use of both... You can litterally pick any 1 person who posted on this thread defending instadowns, and I can show you their post on the other thread showing how they also defended deadhard. Im not "argueing" against you, because theres nothing to argue here. Im just pointing out that you had a strawman in your head when you made your initial post about "hypocrite babies" because not 1 single person who posted to THIS thread matches your description.
Thats simply not true. The other thread is about ppl using dead hard too much and making a point against it so how are they defending it? I think I would know they're MY discussions.
Now, conveniently, we're focusing on this thread and some strawman that you think I made up. Did the other ppl who made similar sentiments make up the same strawman? You lied about the straw man in the last one saying EVERYONE was defending dead hard when they weren't and you're doing it with this one now.

This is what you said regarding the other post, copy and pasted: "ALSO post on the other thread defending the use of deadhard. Of the 3 pages...not 1 person."
But now they're suddenly defending instadowns and also defending hard? Try again.
"Other than me" dude, I only need it to me you to have someone to argue against. And you're saying not one person is in agreement with you here? Then who's upvoting your comments?

I'm literally quoting the ppl arguing againt it in the other thread so how has no one made the argument? Again are you slow or illiterate?

And having a killer that can sneak around, cheese out instadowns and has no counterplay, even if said counterplay is high risk and only good against stealth killers is also no fun and ruins survior points. To balance the entire game around red rank swf is horribly unfair as that is such a small percentage of matches and even still the killer can tunnel down the OoO user and alleviate the problem. Nothing the average solo or even two man can do about cheeseface now.

You just called abunch of ppl "hypocrite babies" who have no problem with your survivor perks...
I clearly said "for a the killer mains arguing for their instadowns". That means the ones that believe their instadowns are fine yet do cry about the perks I listed because they give health states. That's the definition of a hypocrite. Understand me now?

You realize that the ppl youre talking about are also the ones who commented on the same dead hard thread you did, saying DH was fine...
What's the difference? I'm making the same point.

Lol shortened loops...you really are a bunch of broken records ..listing off the same "nerfs" that were totally justified and made the game physically impossible does not mean there are not still issues..its a simple scenario that has not registered to you yet..good day
phIsIcAlLy ImPoSsIbLe lol. I'm pretty sure killer were getting 4ks just fine before the nerfs. I promise it's just you and the other baby killers getting outplayed that cry about it.
-
For all the killer mains arguing for their instadowns, don't complain about Mettle Of Man, Borrowed Time and Dead Hard. You wanna cheese out health states all day but cry until survibor perks gets nerfed cause you can't learn to counter play. Hypocrite babies.

It's certainly not as risky as some pretend
It absolutely is. Against a GOOD killer, you're getting tunneled down and done in the first few minutes. You can't even look around while you heal without exposing your position. If you can't tunnel down a single survivor with the shortened loops, exhaustion nerfs, lack of pallet vacuums, vault nerfs AND bloodlust the problem is not the perk, it's your lack of skill. You're just being outplayed.

They already are weaker. Object of Obsession lets you tunnel the survivor the whole game on a killer that can cheese out health states. What they did was take out the only counter we have and there's a difference. If Object of Obsession and freakin Spine chill are giving yoh that much trouble the perks aren't the problem. It's your skill level.

Lol you my friend dont know me..so stop making yourself look like some fool

That perk is easy mode if you just throw safe pallets all day XDDD risk..what a joke
And waste all the pallets on the map so you can easily kill everyone else? If you're getting destroyed by pallets that easily hate to say it but it sounds like you're just bad. You have bloodlust, shortened loops and no vacuums anymore. Learn to mindgame buddy. I promise pallets won't be an issue for you anymore.

Not true. Your job as killer is to pressure the map, deny gens and extend your own clock. You have as much time as your skill allows you to have. The longer the match goes on, the more our chances of escaping drop especially as teammates die and other hide, do nothing and/or farm eachother. Most games usually go to hatch and even then EGC is in killer's favor. If you feel not having enough time is an issue that's on you not being good enough to effectively pressure the map, not an imbalance in the game.

Object needed the nerf. At high level play, it was just broken. Especially in a team. Being able to see where the wraith is 24/7 is lunacy and denies him his main appeal: invisibility. Oblivious and Undetectable were designed to nerf Object against stealth killers, which was those killers' achilles heel.
Stealth killers needed the buff to compete with killers like Billy. Sure, they're not nearly as good, but they're certainly getting better.
Well not to sound rude, but If you can't tunnel down the one rare person running object every 50 games and need to cry about it being nerfed you are just being outplayed.

Funny how killers get access to a wide range of perks and powers that take away a health state yet something that gives the survivors an extra health state is considered broken...
This. To the tenth power, this. And with this new undetectable bull, it's even easier for cheeseface to take a health state from survivors constantly. God forbid we get a health state ONCE per match under certain circumstances. This game is getting less fun for survivors with every patch.
