  • Two issues I have with it. One, it's used to guard the rescuer. Unhooked survivor simply body blocks, and both can get away safety. Second, if EGC has begun, or the gate is 99, then it's a free escape. I really dislike that, myself.

  • Allow perks that activate on basic attacks to work on attacks in Feral Frenzy.

  • They will, eventually. Then the following patch will break it all over again.

  • I'd be against it. If it were brought back, I'd have to play nice, and I've taken a liking to 4k slugging.

In all honestly, though, as much as I despise how they handled the nerf, on top of how fast my current matches are, I like being able to try out new builds. I rarely get a match longer than eight minutes, unfortunately, but I've come to terms that this is an arcade game. It's about going through the motions, and what comes, comes.

  • I'd say yes, but only if you're dead inside. As said, she's still technically the best, but the amount of blood, sweat, and tears you can shed trying to learn her, even at green ranks, will be pretty epic.

Go into your matches without addons or offerings. Treat the survivors as AI. Put no serious thought into them. Just work on those blinks. You'll most likely get a ton of salt in the form of 'baby killer, ggez,' and 'thanks for wasting my offering.' Ignore it, power through. Just don't expect to have any fun with her, however. Even if you do becoming manageable with her, she's more stressful than fun.

  • It's funny, I was thinking along these lines the other day. In slasher movies, the killer can usually see in near pitch darkness. Light and shadow play a part in the suspense. I'm assuming it was be wildly unbalanced in a game like this, but it would be fun.

  • @skoopydoo said:

And yet all killers have kill rates over 60. So I guess most of the time killers aren't making any mistakes.

How are those kills counted, though. What ranks? Suicide on first hook? Dcs? Trolling? Simply saying 60% without breaking it down into parts doesn't say much.

  • You're misunderstanding what gen rushing is. It's not the fault of the survivors. It's the game balance at large that is the issue. Sure, survivors can exasperate the issue by bringing their toolboxes, but that's a symptom, not a cause. When it takes an M1 killer half a minute to walk across a map, and survivors can pop a gen in the same time with all four, or two with good toolboxes, there's an issue. Map size and objectives are what make gen rushing what it is.

Generator Rush doesn't really exist - you need to apply more pressure.

I am capable of applying extreme pressure as Clown against Survive With Friends without any issue

Either you're rank 18, your SWF is just a 2 man looking for memes, or your 4 man are potatoes.

  • Don't play. Find something else to do for the next few days.

I'm not necessarily against a buff, but I wouldn't want to see a full on rework. I'm a big fan of it on Huntress already thanks to the reload speed, but the info it gives also comes in handy. Survivors that would normally hide in a locker to avoid BBQ get caught by Iron Maiden, so it helps me keep tabs on people. The Exposed effect is a little short for my liking, though. I've only gotten a handful of downs with it in all the time I've used it.

What build do you go for with Huntress? I can't yet find a sweet spot with her.

What if Iron Maiden gave the hemorrhage debuff while the exposed was active? Would fit with the whole Iron Maiden theme.

Unfortunately, a toolbox is a toolbox and seeing 2 or more will either result in a tryhard build or a lobby dodge. Just like seeing 2 or more keys.

I don't lobby dodge anymore. Got some advice awhile back on how to deal with it. Simply don't play. Remove any addons or offerings, then stand in a corner. Preferably near a gate. Just let them do their gens. Obviously, when they bring a plethora of toolboxes and maps/keys, they want a rushed match. So, give it to them. Once all gens pop, open the gate. They miss out on a match, any points that could have been earned, and the few times I've had it, throw a wave of salt your way. It's a nice feeling.

  • I like the idea behind the system, but a 'hidden' element just screams 'we can't get a decent balance, so we're covering it up to avoid lobby dodging/blaming.' Part of the whole 'we're a casual game' shtick, and 'we don't want people to judge others on their rank/rating.'

Not to mention this system does nothing for SWF. I liked how they claimed they wanted the new system to judge 'fairly,' yet ignore SWF..

Killers have fun as long as survivors do not have fun. Thats how killer fun works. Thats why they justify camping, tunneling, slugging, moris and complain about gens, perks and everything else survivors can do or use.

    Lol. Biased, much?

Camp gens? That's a thing? At the same time, that's a thing you have an issue with?

  • @Peanits said:

You're never wrong for liking something. Nobody can tell you what you do or don't like. I will say that you're definitely not alone, though. Legion is still used very frequently to this day, more than the expected amount even.

The expected amount being three players, yet you 'data' shows five?

  • Is it me, or is the influx of Billy threads coming from people that talk about other people mentioning other Billy threads? If these threads didn't pop up, Billy wouldn't be spoken about, at least not as often as now.

  • @ReallyBigShoe said:

The perfect way to end killers camping is for the rest of your team to do gens and leave. Then they lose points.

The devs have stated that camping is a legitimate strategy. Against half decent players, it's not a particularly good strategy, but it's legitimate.

That's the thing, though. How do you, or this killer, define 'winning?' Some focus on points and pipping, others on kills/escapes, and still others, how they can make one person miserable. When somebody is face camping, they most likely don't care about points. They're either A) inexperienced, B) ticked off, C) Aren't even facecamping, and just waiting for the ultra altruistic team to get near, or D) just want to make somebody misterable. Points don't really, and pipping, only play into C. And Bubba, being THE facecamping king, kinda plays into the meme. So while rushing gens and getting out is the viable option, that doesn't mean the facecamper actually cares about points.

  • I'm still angry at the Nurse basekit nerf, so yeah. Still peeved about Ruin. Matches lasting longer than several minutes is pretty rare right now.

  • You know what the game feels like at times? An arcade game. Get an objective, blast through it as fast as possible to get the highest score, rinse and repeat.

  • Had a match earlier today where they said I was 'proxy camping gens,' after they three genned themselves into a corner, while I was playing as Doc. Okay then.

  • Why is the 'hidden skill rating' hidden? At least, in the post game screen? Is this another one of those 'everybody is inclusive' deals, where we can't judge a players actions on their skill rating? If my team players poorly, I'd like some evidence as to why. and knowing their skill, either by how they played or by this 'skill rating, aids in that.

Most of them are safe now from what I've seen. The 2 in the operating circle are the only ones that remained unsafe from what I saw in my 2 matches in there.

I've only run the new map three times, so that could be. From what I've experienced, though, the pallets in the shower stalls, the center, and a few in the halls are unsafe. So long as there isn't a window nearby, that is.

  • A lot of the pallets are unsafe, though. Can be mindgames, and some can even trap a survivor if they go the wrong way. It's not the pallets that give me trouble, it's the three thousand windows that do. A pallet into a window into another window into a hall into a pallet. . . oof.

I also play as killer but I just do not get why killer mains want everything to be nerfed...

Certain things, we killer mains want nerfed. Everything? No. And certainly not Self Care. That's in a good spot. Perks like DS and BT? Those, we want looked at. Again, not SC. I use it myself when I take a break from Killer, since I don't play on a team, and thus need to rely on myself.

  • I'm sorry, but who said SC needs a nerf? A rank 18 killer with three games under their belt?

  • O, her grunt when cocking the hatchet? I've always wondered why she does that. They're hatchets, not a two ton anvil. You could use addons that increase the speed of it draw, give them less time to react. But the actual grunt will remain. Survivors need that cue.

I don't think they said that. They said that it is okay if two gens pop early, if I recall correctly. I think they do care, if they didn't they game would exist.

They're 'okay' with two gens popping early. That's my point. On maps the size that we have, most killers will almost always have two gens go in the first two minutes. That doesn't detract from my point. You're basically going through a match with only three gens you can work with. I'll clarify about them not caring. They do, but only with what will bring them the most money, which is new players. It's why they attempt to balance around said new players. It's a short term goal with no real long term benefit.

  • I still don't get half the comments about tunneling. I know I get blamed for it when the unhooked survivor literally runs right by me. Just seems like terms flung around to justify poor play.

  • We know. Devs don't care. They already said in their Q&A that you should only have 3 gens to work with, since you need to give up two gens to survivors. Plus, they want to get rid of slow down perk synergy. Six minute matches is too long for them.So long as they keep their survivor cash cows happy, they're okay with it.

  • Why would you use CI on either Hag or Trapper? They either A) hide for two minutes, nullifying a perk, or B) manage to get a gen done in the middle, and when CI ends, they have three new ones in the far reaches of the map that neither Hag nor Trapper can effectively cover. Maybe that's just me.

Either way, I haven't been enjoying it all that much. On the larger maps, I try and force a three gen, and that isn't all that fun. But then, I'm playing mostly Trapper and Plague atm.

  • @Ohnoes said:

Why did killers used to complain about ridiculous queue times? Probably the same reason. It sounds more like you had some bad games, are being a hypocrite right now and simply made the post to vent about toolboxes.

Er. . . the old complaint was due to swf messing up matchmaking. Remember, lowest to highest? I don't see why you're bringing that up in this case, or why that would make me a hypocrite. My issue is the three to four threads on the front page alone about lobby times, so it's not a one off issue, yet toolboxes are used in an effort to shorten the match. Doesn't make sense to me.

  • Let him place traps on gens, lockers, and pallets. When activated, a cloud of his bottle juice erupts, like normal. This would give him a bit of map pressure. And, you know, surprise! Like a clown.

  • I've had three dcs today, so far. One failed at teabagging, dced. Another I felt bad for. His team didn't grab him till second phase on first hook, then he ran right by me. Downed, dced. His buddy, I assume, dced shortly after. So it's there. You just had a string of good luck.

  • I don't think anybody has said it. But it worked for survivors against Spirit and Freddy, right?

16k bp, do you not run BBQ? Bad game for me is 40k bp on killer, normal is 50k-64k without offerings, or 200k-400k an hour depending on what offerings I burn and how long the matches take, averaging about 4 matches an hour.

I'm sorry, but what? Are you constantly running party streamers or something? 40k for a bad game. . . I'm calling bs.

No, I don't run BBQ often. I can't capitalize on it often enough to justify the perk slot, at least not on my Plague and Trapper.

  • It depends, for me. Did you bring two high leveled toolboxes, a good map, and a key? Yes, I'd consider that toxic, because you have the intent of gen rushing for a quick escape (same can be said for an ebony, so I don't want to hear about that). Did you find the key in a chest during the match? No. I may get a bit salty at it, because my match was cucked, but that's personal preference. Don't see that as toxic.

  • Depends on the match I'm given. Did I get at least 16k bp, and there was no toxicity on either side (vault spam, clicky clicky, tunneling, face camping, etc), then sure. Was I gen rushed to high heaven and butt danced out the exit gate? O, my salt levels will spike. No gg for you.

Some maps don't have lockers close enough.

The lack of skill coming from killers now a days is disgusting.

All I see now that ruin is gone pretty much is BBQ and chill with Pop Goes the weasel and Nurses calling and Discordance.

Why do killers need so many aura reading abilities? There is no skill playing a killer.

Why do survivors need so many second chance perks?

BBQ is fine. Just hide in a locker. No locker? Hide behind a gen. No gen? Run one direction, count to five, run in the other. Not that hard. People act like the aura reading lasts 50 seconds, instead of 5.

  • Discordance is nice, but I don't have much luck with it on low mobility killers. What's the point of seeing where two are when they're on the other side of the map, and I'm already in a chase.

  • It's not an awesome combo because one is still a Hex. So long as it's a Hex, it's too risky to run.

  • It's a killer issue. Remember how fast they fixed that survivor related issue with the basement, but ignored the sprint burst exploit before that? Don't hold your breath.

  • @Ghoste said:

Have you seen the Dev Q&A? They recommend allowing the furthest gens to be completed so you have to defend a smaller area.

Basically do a 3-gen strat or git gud.

Seriously? Doesn't that mean they realize how big their maps are, and how imbalanced that makes non movement based killers on them? That comes off as extremely lazy.

  • I don't have a lot of time to play at night. An hour, maybe two. I want a good match, where I can actually play. If I see you're a 4man, or you bring 2+ toolboxes, a key, and a map? I'm dodging that. Again, a GOOD match, not one where I get maybe three chases, two hooks, and four butt dancing out the exit gate five minutes after the match started.

Peanits beat me to it. Legion, Doc with tier 3 madness, Pig. Even Plague/Freddy if they decide to go out of their way to cleanse/wake up.

    New Ruin is pretty ok.

Plague? You're kidding, right? Few people cleanse against her. They'll power through a gen and move on, broken or not. I used it a few times yesterday on my Plague, and it was either ignored, or broken in 30 seconds. Plague doesn't have the mobility to make use of it.

Freddy, though, does. I haven't leveled mine enough to get a solid build, but combined with Surveillance, he can force people off gens pretty easily for Ruin to take hold.

  • I've had two games with it where it's lasted into the late game, but that was because the team didn't care. The Cowshed is simply too large for my Plague to cover adequately. The three other games I used it in, it was gone within two minutes, so pointless. My testing of it is done, going back to a better build.

  • You ranked Plague, Pig, and Legion with Billy and Spirit? Okay.

  • We know. Devs don't care, because more people play survivor, thus a bigger cash cow on their part. And this messed up matchmaking isn't making it any easier.

  • Clips. You need to post video evidence. The anti cheat used in the game is pretty solid. It sounds like a bad connection on your end, though.
