why would anyone in SWF needs OoO, they are all gonna be on comms and know exactly where you are anyway
It's not for their party, it's for the killer. The idea is that he'll go after them. Typically, the OoO user is at least decent at looping. They hope to waste time by doing so. The OoO users will usually start with teabagging if I'm looking at them. If I ignore them, they'll vault spam. God, do I hate vault spamming.
-
Depends on the killer. As Plague? It's manageable, because of all the cracks and crevices. But as Trapper? O, what sweet hell that match was. Hate that map as Trapper.

I need to use noed now on all killers because that beat the ranks 1 survivors that annoy me so much.
I use NOED if I'm feeling vindictive, but usually, it's only on one of my Plague builds, That endgame cleansing needs to be punished.
-
Without Ruin to slow the early game, killers move to NOED to slow the endgame. The same survivors that cheered the Ruin change with 'huehue baby killers need to learn to pressure' are the same ones that cry 'omg NOED OP' because they can't cleanse.
-
@willoftheboss How? You're cleansing five totems, each at 15 seconds. One gens worth of time split among four to ensure the killer doesn't have access to an endgame perk. While I agree that a totem counter would be helpful, the things killers need to juggle is in no way equal to cleansing five totems.
-
Shouldn't you be playing as if every killer runs NOED, thus cleansing every totem you see?
-
Both, but it's maps that are the biggest issue. If you tone the size down, and eliminate infinite, M1 killers would be in a better place. Gen speeds would also be increased, simply because the killer can more effectively patrol the gens. That's not to say other matters would need to be addressed, but it's the largest issue.

They most likely did that so it's available in more countries. If they had more gore like dismemberment it might get banned in some countries like Germany
Germany bans gore? Huh. No rating system in place?

Just came from a match on the Thompson House map. Hooked one, and I was swarmed by all three survivors. Look one way, there's a Feng clicky clicky. Look around a nearby gen, there's a Claudette hiding behind it. Go back to the hook, and there's a Nancy, hiding under the hook.
'Fcking hardcore proxy camper' in post game chat. Okay.
-
'Play the game the way it's supposed to be played.' I mean, the killer is meant to kill. That's kinda the point. Where does it say the killer has to play the way you think they should?
-
It's probably a unique killer who's power is similar to the. . . uh. . . Strangler? From Last Year. Grabs people from a distance and pulls them to him.
-
I doubt it was a 'bug' in the first place. Now that everybody is ranked back, this'll give the devs a week or two of breathing room from the 'your ranking system is broken' flood.
-
@ColgateAdvancedWhite If they're standing around waiting to be hit? Yeah. Which isn't the point of this? How is this 'context?' You're leaving out the actual chase time from point A to point B.
-
About an hour-ish. I think it was four games in a row or so? Don't recall. Was rushing one last level for the shards. Shrine was turning over, wanted. . . something. Forget what it was.
-
No. Rank reset was 'bugged.' I doubt that myself, seems like a nice way to push the rank issue under the rug, but it is what it is.
-
Bud, one thing you need to learn is that, as a killer player, your enjoyment is not considered. Only survivors, since they spend more.
-
@Mo4ntus The idea was to keep similar skill with similar skill. Red rank skilled players being pushed back to yellow with the old rank system was what they wanted to change. I think. I don't recall their reasoning.

I don’t think it was a mistake this how it normally works
Remember, they changed it so that you only rank back to the top of the previous color. So, if you were red rank, today was supposed to set you back to rank 5.

Just to clarify, we aren't trying to push this as a buff. This is just a quality of life change that's been asked for by the community for a long time. We are aware that this isn't necessarily going to make him stronger, it'll only make him feel a little better to play.
So, no word on any actual buffs, then?

$250 a month for 100 Mbps internet? I call bull if you live in the U.S.
Not really. I live in Cali, using Frontier, and I pay 90$ for 20mb/s.
-
Only if it gives me pressure. I slug much more often now, though.
-
@Weck Sure, but that still makes it inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, any buff to Trapper is welcome, but it should be more than just this one. At the end of the day, how much time does this save you? Half a second per trap, if it's still in the place you want? Nice little QoL adjustment, but again, he needs more.
-
Here's my problem with this, though. When a trap is sprung, it'll sometimes move to an 'open' space. Take shack window, for instance. If that trap is sprung, it'll move away from the window. You're still going to need to pick the trap up and set it again. Traps near pallets tend to do this as well.
-
So it's Auto aim with extra steps.
-
I mean, that's it? That does very little to address the issues he has. I feel like, if that's all they're doing for him, we should feel insulted.
-
I mean, okay? I hope it's not all he's getting.
-
No.
-
Is this bait?
-
@Dehitay I mean, this is DbD. I've had instances where the match will be going fine, and i'll be booted to post game screen showing I and somebody else dc'ed for. . . reasons, I guess. Especially now with dedicated servers. I just don't want to get shafted with a penalty when I'm not the one at fault.
-
@Hoodied said:
Its just very annoying, not OP during the match, but is pretty busted during EGC as if you down the survivor at an Exit you cannot do anything to prevent it unless you have a Mori
Throw Borrowed Time into that, and you have two perks that can potentially give survivors a free escape in the EGC. Or just when all five gens are done, since survivors like to 99% gates.
-
@MandyTalk That's what I'm worried about. Usually when there's a dc, I'm notified after that camera panning when we're all booted to the post game screen.

I still have probably $50 in shards that I haven't even spent yet. Didn't know I was going to be blocked from playing.
I'm not saying you're wrong, in a general sense. The DC ban system SHOULD detect where the ban came from, either 'leave game' or an internet drop. I had hoped that would be the case. I haven't experiences it myself, so I can't say. Still, 1500 hours is a lot of time invested. I'd personally think the, what, 30 bucks initially to buy the game, would be worth it.

I've been seeing comments about "balancing" and how they should nerf DS. They don't need to touch DS anymore. It got the nerf it supposedly "needed" last Spring, therefor it's fine as is. Besides, having DS doesn't guarantee ANYTHING. If executed right (as a survivor) you can buy time and maybe even escape. Yes, DS is a huge pain in the ass for a killer, but so is NOED.
I'm still at a loss as to why people think DS now vs then is a nerf. Seriously, current DS gives every player a 60 second immunity window. How is that in any way a nerf?
-
1500 hours? And you don't think you got your money's worth?
-
@Mandy said:
You don't get penalised until the match starts - so when you load into the map.
What if you load into the match, the camera does it's panning, then you're immediately brought to the post game screen due to a dc? Does that count as match start?
-
It's a killer issue, so lower priority. I mean, the sound issue has been a thing for, what, three, four months now?
-
Two reasons. One, matchmaking is borked. Been this way for awhile, devs can't seem to get a handle on it. Second, there aren't enough higher level killer players anymore, which skewers matchmaking even more.

Why would you combine M&A with Distressing?
Personally, I enjoy new doc. I use Distressing, PGTW, BBQ, and Sloppy. If I'm feeling really diabolical, I'll swap out BBQ and Sloppy for Lullaby and Overwhelming.
-
Pudding. Always pudding. I want to say streamers, but those things are cursed. Seems like every time I pop one in, survivors become extra tryhard.
-
Devs don't consider it cheating, thus it's not cheating. Doesn't mean it's not fair, but what can ya do. Devs need that cash grab.

This is complete fabrication, they didn't say "The perk is being used in 80% of red rank games, so we reworked it"
They said
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/823/GBHCX0SRX7Q4.png
are the reasons it was changed, trying to say that "this perk is used a lot so it needs to be changed" is insane, like the devs said Self Care is the highest used perk on the survivor side, and asking for that to be nerfed... again.... is insane.
and again, Ruin wasn't nerfed, it was reworked, and a lot of people like it just as much if not more, and some people hate it just as much if not more.
Personally glad I've never found a need for ruin but all this kicking up a fuss over one perk is hilarious.
'The upcoming mid-chapter update will also include a major overhaul to Hex: Ruin, and an associated update to the Gatekeeper Emblem. Recent data show that Hex: Ruin is used in over 80% of all games in the red ranks, and across the entire userbase it appears in about 45% of all games.
Just scroll up a bit on what you pasted. I know the reasoning they gave us. I also know they numbers they displayed. There's a reason those were put in, as one of the reasons for the change. They saw the usage of the perk, looked into how widespread it was, and decided there needed to be a change, among others. So don't say I, or anybody else who states that, fabricated it. It's right there in the same notes you read.
Nobody is asking for a self care nerf? At least, not that I'm aware of.
All the fuss kicking has a reason. Poor game balance, poor map design, poor objective handling. Removing Ruin simply brought more of that to light, which I'm grateful for.
-
Anybody who says this isn't the same as Ruin needs to remember that part of the devs criteria for changing Ruin was '80% in red ranks, 45% in all games.' So, any suggested change to meta perks should have this in mind, seeing as the devs set this out themselves.

Slap Thana on her. It's your bread and butter.
DON'T dedicated yourself to early chases. In the early game, your goal is to infect everybody. Find somebody, puke on them just a bit. Once their portrait lights up as infected, move on. The sooner you get everybody infected, the sooner you can get into chases. Some might panic or think too highly of themselves and cleanse, giving you access to your power later on.
Puke on gens. That can be used as a radar, allowing you to know where somebody is if they become infected when you aren't around. Puke on windows, lockers, pallets, when in a chase, and they aren't infected. Denies them some avenues of escape.
Respect pallets when you're in Corrupt. One slap and you're knocked out. Usually, survivors will camp a pallet if they know you have corrupt, so be wary of that. Use it against them.
Know the map you're on, and look for a three gen if possible. At her core, Plague is an M1 killer. You can be punished easily if you try and stretch yourself across a map in chases. The closer gens are together, the easier time you'll have juggling.
-
The challenge states 'Interrupt and Grab one Survivor.' So, it doesn't specify, just an interruption and grab. I would think a trap would qualify.
-
Old or new Prayer Beads?
-
Maybe there should be a killer perk that works like Thrilling. When you pick up a survivor, all lockers in the vicinity are, well, locked? Just a thought.
The worst part about this match, from Aryun's side, is how many copycats it's going to incite. Remember when Ochido was around, and how many people tried to play like him? Then Noob3? Doesn't mean copycats do it successfully, but it's still pretty annoying.
-
OP? No. I just think it could use some tweaks. It's an anti tunnel perk. If they're doing an objective, then they obviously aren't being tunneled, and the perk should equate for that.
-
Want a better experience? Have an actual tutorial. Then, have a testing grounds, where new players can see actual perks and killers in effect, and not having to go into a match near blind.
-
@toxicmegg said:
no ######### all of these perks are counterable but you decide to complain and ask for nerfs instead of adapting.
DS - stop tunneling
BT - stop tunneling
DH - bait it
here again we see why killers are the whiny part of this community..
In red ranks, DS isn't used as anti tunneling, it's used as 60 seconds of protection to get a gen done. BT is just a free escape when used in the end game.
I like OPs suggestion about DS. If you're doing an objective while DS is active, then you're obviously not being tunneled, and DS's timer should drain. I don't have an idea personally for BT, I just don't like the free escape it gives. DH. . . eh, I don't have much of an issue with it. When done right, yeah, it extends a chase, but most times, they waste a pallet. I'll rotate off when that happens, come back later.
