The part your not understanding is that we play games to have fun to sit and watch someone die is boring for survivor and killer
First off killer wins because no matter what there getting bp plus dc lowers your rank so to not give people a chance is just boring and no fun
I'm understanding it perfectly well. What may or may not be fun for you does not mean that same applies to another person. You say it isn't fun watching somebody die, somebody else will say it is.
You cannot dictate what a player should or should not do. If a killer feels they only want one kill, and to get that they'll face camp, then they'll do it. You think Insidious Bubba's do it because it's boring? Heck no.
Technically, a killer doesn't 'win' unless they put some serious grind into a match, at least by the ranking system. So, if somebody is being face camped, just do gens and leave. By the ranking system, they lost. But then, if they're face camping, they don't care about rank.
-
You do realize their job is to kill, right? There's no rules on how they do that. If they want to face camp, why shouldn't they? If they want to tunnel somebody into the ground, what's stopping them? Most 'rules' you find come from the survivor hand book.
If a killer feels like they can get something out of a match by obtaining only one kill and 3k bp, then they'll do it. Nothing you say or do will change that.
-
I would support it. Seeing as the saloon requires you to break walls and all.
-
Demise of the Faithful. I just love Plague, so of course it's going to be my favorite. Could do without Jane's Head On, though. . .
-
Personally, It's Borrowed Time that I despise the most. When I bring it up, I get a ton of 'tHEn doN't CaMp!' This annoys me. In a lot of cases, I just hooked somebody, turn around, and start making my way from the hook, when *noise notification* not two seconds later. Turn back around, and there's the Jake unhooking. I go for the Jake, and the Blendette, who now has Borrowed Time, is body blocking for the savior. I can either try and work my way around, or hit her. She gets the sprint burst, and the savior just gained at least three seconds head start. It's this play, and similar other plays, that really bugs me, and unfortunately, I'm seeing it more and more.
DS itself isn't much of an issue, at least mid game. I'd like if I could see a DS symbol over their names, just for the times when they all run the same character, but other than that, most of the match, I just slug. DS becomes an issue in the EGC. They will intentionally body block, knowing that if you down them, they're safe, and can just crawl to the exit. The same with BT. They both act as free escapes at that time.
-
Bump up Trappers base amount. If an injured survivor gets caught in a trap, double the time it takes for them to get out. If it's 2 - 8 seconds for a healthy survivor, depending on RNG, bump that up to 8 - 12. As it stands, if an injured survivor falls into a trap on the other side of the map, it doesn't really effect them. Traps need to do something to injured survivors.
Remove Nurse's cooldown, or or fatigue.
-
How I stop myself from getting tilted? Treat the survivors as bots. Any tactic you can use against bots to win? Do it.
-
I use Infectious, Enduring, Spirit Fury, and Sloppy. I can swap Sloppy for PGTW if I use the mangled addon.
I'm not a particular fan of Corrupt on Trapper. If they pop a center gen or two, then that leaves three far gens I have to trek to. I'd rather them pop those far three and leave central gens for me to get ready for.
-
It really depends on the killer. You need to let gens go if you play Trapper, for instance. That time has to be used to set up a kill zone.

What part is wrong?
I used it today and we both could see each other. He came right at me because he seen me. It is not a perk I will use again because I did not like it. I felt like anytime I farted we seen each other and I hated trying to do gens while we seen each other. ALSO it is right in the description how it works.
"A supernatural bond links you to the Killer. If you are looking in the Killer's direction, your link will reveal your Auras to each other. This effect applies only if you are outside of the Killer's Terror Radius. As the Killer's Obsession , this effect applies to a maximum range of 56/64/72 metres. Otherwise, it applies to a maximum range of 44/56/64 metres."
I mean I am still confused as to what part you is saying is wrong. The killer and me played and cat and mouse the entire match while I did gens and I hated this perk because I felt like it went off WAY to much and the killer and me seen each other 70% of the match. I almost never got to stay on a gen to long before he was coming my way. The perk worked exactly as described. I ONLY had vision when BOTH of us looked at each other and never had vision when he didn't. I guess maybe I was that one special person that the perk worked as described or maybe it was a glitch.
When you look at the killer, and the killer looks in your direction, you both see each other. However, if you are looking away, in that you can't see his aura, he can't see your aura. Which is what is meant by 'hiding your aura.' On the same note, you can look at the killer, and see him, even if he isn't looking at you.
-
Just get used to it. No matter how you play, or how fair you try and keep things, you'll always get this.
-
They're going to nerf it down the road, since it's a go to perk now.
-
You'd have to prove it. I believe it would apply to the account first.

another unnecessary complaint. Killers have SWF problems. So now solo survivors have SWF problems being the cause of all these killer complaints which in turn leads to calibrating the game to meet the standards of pro level play. Solo survivors still don’t have a chance. There have been so many games I’ve played where killers just mow people down because everyone’s doing their own thing. Throw some Mori’s in there this game makes you not want to play it even more. All because killers just want to be catered to. Why is it you feel as though survivors don’t need to know where you’re at at all times and communicate that to teammates? That’s the point. If they work together they should kick your butt. If they don’t well then they’re just bad. But don’t complain about this kinda stuff. It really irks people like me that try to solo with perks that people typically complain about. DS, BT, OoO. It’s kind of outrageous. You’re the killer, you move fast, some way faster than they should be able to with add ons attached. Ebony Mori’s are Just excessive. Use the perks and builds you should be using to find them. Stop worrying about what they got. You know? The list Just goes on and on. I feel like killers need to be nerfed imo. People complain because they’re noticing a compromise or weakness in their strategy and just don’t know how to counter it. It’s rather infuriating. I think on all accounts killers (their perks, abilities, add ons and offerings) are by far really strong despite gen speed. Being concerned over a survivor perk is just unnecessary and unfair to survivors ability to have fun too.
I take it from your post you've never been, or at least sustained, high ranked games as a killer. Believe me, you'd change your mind. it's different in lower ranks.
OoO is a hard counter to Trapper. It's kinda like Plague shutting down survivors ability to heal, but without the pools to cleanse.
-
No, since you're not holding the game hostage.
-
I remember a TTV player was peeved at me when I mori'd them. Good times.
There was another instance where a TTV player was blasting me on their stream. I was Plague, and the match was a bust. TTV dc'ed, then his two buddies dc'ed when I downed them. I gave the forth the hatch out of pity, then went and looked up the streamer. Turned out he was mad that I was playing well. Claimed I was 'camping' when his team kept circling the hook. I was 'sweaty' for slugging him when he ran into me. I was a 'little b**ch' for bringing an apple addon. He dc'ed when he was able to use Unbreakable and get a pallet stun on me. The others dc'ed in 'solidarity' of him. And the forth, which I gave hatch,w as on the team as well, he just wanted hatch to teabag. Bleh.
-
@BabyClaudette said:
There's a big downside with object too: the killer can see you as well. Anyways, how often do you see an OoO anyways.
More recently. I realize there was a challenge revolving around it, but that seemed to have died off. Two days ago, I ran into it three times. Twice on Trapper, once as Plague. One was a solo, or a two man, and the rest was at least a 3 man. Last night, twice, back to back, both 4 man. I can handle it with any other killer, usually, but it's Trapper where it makes me feel powerless.
-
@ZoneDymo said:
I do admire you players that still have a passion to do well every game, personally Im kinda beyond caring.
If someone has OoO and that person is way too good at wasting your time AND actively walks after you to disable traps, then fine, ill just go afk in the basement and play/watch something (else) in the meantime. no problem.
O, I do that. I first make sure that they're a SWF. If that is confirmed, then I'll just go stand by the gate and read a book while they do their gens. Even open the gate for them. Get one of two responses. Either toxic 'git gud' varients, or 'you made me depip.'
That's my point, though. This one perk can render Trapper useless. That itself should not be a thing, but it is.
-
Make it more difficult for survivors to rank up. That way, in higher ranks, you get better material, not just SWF and boosted solos.
From your post, OP, you point out that three live, one died. While it sucks that one died, how is that a loss? You must have had at least 25k bp, and even a pip or two. Sounds like a win to me.

Yay, getting punished when playing with your friends. <3 <3 <3
I mean, surely every 4 man SWF is a highly coordinated Squad. At least this is what people are claiming.
btw. how many SWF-Threads are you planning to do so? You seem to be quite sensitive about this topic.
You seem to trivialize the power a simple 'killers on me' to your group has. You don't need to be a 'highly coordinated squad' to completely dominate a killer. This isn't about 'getting punished for playing with your friends,' this is about balance. But seeing as survivor fun prioritizes that, or even killer enjoyment, you keep thinking that.
-
@Echorion So, we can't question a teams choice in letting a game, well, stagnate, for a period of time? Enjoy it or not, you can't deny that they take far longer then a lot of other games out there to balance, in either direction. Even when they do update, it's pretty small in comparison to how large the game has gotten, be it characters to perks.
I just want to know why it's so slow, and is there any way, or effort, to change that?
-
I as actually considering this last night when looking over Blood Echo. Makes me think it's to keep the perks from spamming when you run into a really potato team? But then, if they're falling that fast, that's on them. 'New and inexperienced player frustration,' I suppose.
-
'Killers complaining about things that are barely ever used FROM MY EXPERIENCE.' There, adjusted the title. What you experience doesn't equate to what others do. In every single game I play, at least two survivors have more than one second chance perk. DS, BT, Adren, Unbreakable are the norm. QnQ and Head On are common, and I've noticed more usage out of Iron Will and Calm Spirit. There really isn't much variety when it comes to survivor builds.

awesome thanks! I don't have Legion or Clown yet so maybe Overcharge? Or Thrilling Tremors? or just noed? Thanks again.
I actually want to try I'm All Ears on her. I haven't ranked the perk yet, so I haven't tried it. Personally, I don't use gen perks on her. It just slows her down. My build is M&A, Nurses, Sloppy, and Infectious. I had Spies for Infectious, but then I had one match in Lerrys. . . my god, that was a nightmare.

jUsT APplY maP pREssURe
Really, though, you're going to get your teeth kicked in a lot. And a lot of 'ggez git gud baby killer,' no matter how you play. So prepare to grow a thick skin.
Of the three you listed, I'd say Legion will be the easiest to learn. He can traverse maps better than the other two. Never focus more than 30 seconds on any one survivor, at least in the early/mid game. Your goal is to 'aPPlY PrEsSUrE' at that stage. Get survivors wounded, rotate between gens, force pallet drops if possible, and assume every survivor runs their meta perk builds.
Look at gen placements. If possible, you want to keep those closest to each other. If there's one way out on the other side of the map, leave it. You will learn that time is NOT on your side. The more time you can save by keeping gens near each other clear, the better.
You're going to be called out on everything you do. No matter how fair you may play, it'll never be good enough. As I said earlier, grow a thick skin. Your job is to kill, so if you need to tunnel somebody out of a match, that's up to you. In the EGC, it's fine to camp your hook, since that's your objective.
Since you're just starting out as killer, you're going to have a rough time. Matchmaking is going to put you against red ranks, so the sweat will be even more intense. I do wish you luck, it's going to be a rough ride.
-
Probably not. If they really were interested in fixing her bugs, they would have done so when they went through her nerf. Seeing as that didn't happen, then I doubt they'll pick her up any time soon to fix her.
-
Title may be in poor taste, but then, we're playing a game about murdering people. A BP event would be nice, seeing as a lot of us are now stuck at home over this mass hysteria.
-
Because it would require work. They've said they want to 'balance as they go,' and 'if a new perk seems to favor swf, they won't do it.' That's easier than going back over components already in place and adjusting them. I know they could do it, Kindred is a great example, but it's really their only example, sadly.
-
They should have done bones.
-
Not that I'm aware of? Could be because of Deathslinger. His lower TR makes Nurses a nice pick, and Thana for his deep wounds.
-
@Ksoni said:
Everytime otz releases a new video a new thread about how broken survs are appears. Im not saying that it isn't but this format is kinda getting boring
Probably because it's visual evidence. It's one thing to see thread after thread about balance, it's another to actually see that in effect. He would have lost that match if the second survivor struggled, and the other two didn't go full potato at that hook.
-
The rights would need to be leased, and considering the owner, and holder, is a convicted pedo, I doubt it'll happen. At least, until they're sold.
-
I'm a masochist.
Plus, I find survivor boring.
-
No. I know Warframe improved my gameplay in Apex, but DbD? No. Maybe when Predator drops, I'll see it.

Nurse main here. Let me explain some:
Several killers already have addons that weaken their power but grant more bloodoints. Bubba/Hillbilly have speed limiter and there are others as well: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Bloodpoints#Add-ons I agree that they aren't great and in general shouldn't exist. It could be argued that they are there to add "challenge" to the killer and give you a small bonus for doing so.
Many killers also have addons that are also perks. For example legion has several that causes status effects on their power. Huntress has things, clown has things, bubba/hillbilly have gen speed reduction on chainsaw. There are many reasons that these exist and they actually aren't bad. They can give you the benefit of having a perk without actually having a perk giving you room to put other perks in your build. For example, the legion one allows you to have sloppy butcher without having sloppy butcher. Yes, it lasts a short time because it isn't a perk, but it still buys you time.
Spasmodic Breath and Matchbox are unironically pretty fun to use. Nurse base movement speed is 3.8 m/s. Survivors move at 4.0 m/s. this means that nurse is slower than a survivor. Matchbox makes her faster. She loses a blink yes, but she also gains the ability to actually chase. On some maps this can be a godsend with so many LoS blockers like Lery's.
Spasmodic breath is actually really fun and it catches survivors off guard all the time. You blink, hit them, then they break LoS expecting another blink when you come flying around the corner at full speed, it leads to a lot of downs. If used incorrectly it does mean you can get looped, but it does create some interesting gameplay and choices.
That still makes it a meme build. I can understand if it's the green, and only a green, but an iri? Something that should complement her power at its fullest? That would be like giving Myers an Iri which removed his stalk/insta down, and just let him move around as an M1 killer. Or Spirit having an Iri that removed her ability to phase. Removing a power with their best addon sounds fun?
It just feels like they half assed her 'rework,' just to get people to shut up about it. In the process, they made her unfun to use. I'm not saying every addon should be great, but when nearly half are useless outside meme builds, a quarter aren't used due to better options, and the remaining, what, four or five are it? Something's wrong there. Maybe they should simply cut back on the number of addons there are, so we don't have this sloppy mess.
-
I've had teams like this in the past. Usually it's the ones that go clicky clicky, and when I don't give them attention, they resort to window spamming. Very annoying, especially if I'm trying to track my target with sound. The other group that does this is when they find the hatch or gate and want to gloat.
-
This is beating a dead horse. Frankly, the devs simply do not care enough to work out any real type of balancing. Doing so would require money, time, and ingenuity on their part. No matter what they may claim ('we want to shrink the gap between solos and SWF'), actions speak louder than words. Their actions just confirm that.
-
Depends on the situation. If you go out of your way to hunt every survivor and slug them all? Yes. Highly toxic. But if they're all lumped together, and try to stick together? No. I use Infectious Fright on some of my builds, and if I hear multiple screams, I'm slugging you if possible.
-
That would require work. Remember, these devs are fans of bandaid fixes. If it can't be fixed by adding a perk or playing with numbers, then they're against it.
-
There's more to this game than looping, you know. I find it rather sad that a game that's supposed to be about horror, boils down to running circles around junk.
-
Survivor's can't bully him like other M1 killers.
-
It's been a growing issue with dedicated servers. Since you didn't grab them on their end of the connection, you fail to grab them on your end. However, because your end registers the grab early on, it displays the animations.

That's why I smile whenever people complain about DS and any other perk that bothers them.
Slugging is a luxury and doesn't require a perk. If it was any other game it would have a built-in pick yourself up mechanic, like Last Year.
Any other game wouldn't give one side half a dozen second chance perks that can be abused.
-
I've seen this too. Was curious about it. Only started appearing with this patch.

Slugging is fine its when killers intentionally slug all 4 then hook
I got told to ######### because i looped a killer or cause I disappeared using a stealth build and i got called a "toxic trash gen rushing baby survivor main" by a killer when he was afk for like 2 minutes
Op add ons are like insta saw or iri head i know more but i honestly cant remember rn cause i havent played for 2 weels
And thanks for actually discussing and not calling me a entitled survivor main
I replied to this comment a few minutes ago and i think it deleted my reply but im not sure so this might be the second time you read this
When a killer goes out of his way to slug everybody at once? Yes, I agree, that's toxic. You shouldn't mix that type of player with the general killer playerbase. Just like we killers don't, or at least shouldn't, add the SWF hit squads in with the general survivor playerbase.
I've been bm'ed because I successfully mindgamed an infinite. It happens both sides. Just ignore it and move on. Not belittling your experience, just that it's not uncommon. It's a competitive game by nature, and you have players that project their inadequacies on the other side.
I don't think any one add on is op. A combination can make them, though. Iri head, for instance, it one shot, but Huntress only has one hatchet. She misses, she's down to M1 slapping. It's only when it's added to the Infantry Belt that it is a bigger threat than it should be. Devs should look at that, not nerf the individual addons.
There are hypocrites in this game, I agree with. I've found myself sometimes falling into that after a few frustrating games. Just need to roll with the punches, and sift through what is accurate, or viable, and what isn't.
-
'So many killers complain about getting gen rushed in 5 minutes but then slug everyone then hook' You haven't figured out that, for killers to apply pressure, they need to slug?
'Complain about survivors hiding, looping and gen rushing then tunnel, camp and slug.' I don't think any honest killer complains about 'hiding' and 'looping.' Maybe looping comes from map imbalance. Yet when survivors claim 'tunneling' and 'camping,' they use broad strokes when applying those terms. I've been called a tunneler when the dude that was just rescued runs into me. I've been called a camper when survivors will loop around a hook. Slugging is viable, as it applies map pressure.
'Using op add on then complaing about insta heals.' What do you consider an 'op' addon? Iri head? Insta heals were nerfed because they were broken. Like the old DS, the insta heals could negate an entire chase, among other things.
-
I actually like the new map, for the most part. I've only been on it with Nurse, however, so that's probably given me a different experience. My primary issue with the map, though, is all the creaking. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I have trouble differentiating if the creaking is the ambient noise or a survivors footsteps.
-
Devs balance for the low end of the game. If a killer does 'well' against potatoes, then the devs don't see a reason to change them.
-
Play Doctor. Equip Distressing and BBQ. Rake in 35bp each match. Equip bp offerings to increase that. Use a pudding or streamer to double your output.
-
Ban them why? Sure, it's toxic and sexist, but I don't see anything worth banning. I mean, I've seen a lot more toxic things than this.
