Im saying having so many killers with cooldowns is getting old. The cooldowns themselves aren't bad its that we have SO many killers with them.
Trapper - No cooldown
Wraith - No cooldown
Billy - No cooldown
Nurse - Slight cooldown
Michael - No cooldown (buildup instadowns)
Pig - No cooldown
Hag - No cooldown
Doctor - No cooldown on Shock Therapy; cooldown on Static Blast
Huntress - No cooldown; just reloads.
Hag - No cooldown
Bubba - No cooldown
Freddy - No cooldown on Snares; Cooldown on Teleport
Spirit - Cooldown
Legion - Cooldown
Plague - No cooldown
Clown - No cooldown
Ghostface - Cooldown (115% m/s no terror radius, can be used for stealth and instadowns)
Demo - No cooldown on Shred; Cooldown on Teleport
Oni - No cooldown (buildup instadowns)
Deathslinger - No cooldown; just reloads
Where are these “so many killers with cooldown”?

They basically explained that matchmaking prioritizes ping and wait time, with fairness being the final priority. With a lack of high rank killers and the changes to SWF matchmaking, you get killers playing people they shouldn't.
I do think ping and wait time SHOULD take priority over fairness. What does it matter if you get a “fair match” once every hour? No one wants to sit in a lobby for 15-20+ minutes, more if the killer is a brat and dodges.
Killers should learn to get better/enjoy the current state or pick up a different game altogether. I’m not saying changes aren’t needed here and there, but if you don’t have fun playing as killer why stay in DBD at all?
I didn’t quit playing when I picked up DBD - I knew there was a learning curve and I overcame it. If you’re just a casual killer player then I’m positive you will get matched with green/yellow rank potatoes and an occasional SWF that has some red rank players. So what? Just play through it and learn from your experiences.
-
If certain killer powers had no cooldown then surviors would never escape, simple as that.
Imagine Legion missing that initial frenzy hit but having no cooldown means he can activate it again immediately and hit everyone over and over.

Or at the very least, not perks. But making them offerings seems pointless.
Agreed. WGLF is useless as survivor, and BBQ is overused solely due to the bloodpoint factor.

Ignore the emblem system. If you 4k, you did your job right.

Lery’s is a little more tolerable as survivor now, but I still dislike it. Way too confined for my taste.
As killer, probably Badham or Ormond.

It's not quite as consuming as you might think. A replay system like that isn't actually recording a video file, it's recording everyone's actions. The game basically recreates it like a play; it knows where to move each character and at what speed, when a pallet drops, when a generator is finished, when a totem is cleansed, etc. The amount of data you would need to store would be comparable to the amount of data you send and receive when playing a match (not much).
Interesting. What would it take to put something like this in place?
Also, could you view the killer’s perspective even if you were playing survivor?
-
Would be a nice buff if it didn’t show fake pallets.
-
I don’t think people realize that this would be cumbersome on your storage. Recording the perspectives of 4 survivors for your post-game viewing seems like it would take up a lot space.
Does “Theater Mode” auto delete previous game footage when you start a new one?
Does it save on DBD’s servers or your own?
-
Pipping is overrated (don’t tell that to Tru3, though).
If I 4K I see that as a win, Merciless or Brutal doesn’t matter to me.

I think SB is the worst exhaustion perk in the game.
Lol, how so?
1) No requirement to use, unlike every other exhaustion perk.
2) Gives you a potentially free escape to a safer area from even unsafe, dead zone gens.
3) Can be 99’d for mid-chase shenanigans.
But please, use Dead Hard so I can just chainsaw you as Billy and render the perk useless.
Or run Balanced, where it has little to no use on a lot of maps. Sprint Burst with a falling requirement.
Or Head On, where you have to stay still and not be productive in repairing gens.
Or Lithe, which is Sprint Burst with a vault requirement.
-
@Liisjak said:
And it wouldn't work. A survivor would just force the first chase and they'd still gang bang gens.
Tho...injured survivors should repair gens slower, so they would have an incentive to heal and cooperate which would stale the game.
That feature already exists: it’s called Thanataphobia.
-
SWF... without it I definitely would have moved on a LONG time ago.

I don't think running BBQ over Thrilling will help as much as you think it will. There's more factors that go into a Killer loss like map size, Survivor skill, and gen/loop placement. A Killer could run BBQ, Thrilling, and two other slowdown perks or even a full slowdown build and still lose.
I understand and agree. There’s a lot of variables in each match like you mentioned. I know running BBQ over any other perk wouldn’t make you “lose”, just trying to make a point that there are better perks to pick unless you really, really just care about bloodpoints rather than being sweaty.

This. Unfortunatly there are some poor souls that got actual crashes three times in a row. It's an exception tho.
Right, and if your game crashes 3x in a row the same day then it’s probably your personal hardware or connection, not DBD’s fault.

This post has already been made, friend.

DC penalties are needed. The only “game-breaking” glitch I’ve ever experienced is the basement hook turning your screen black, and that was fixed fairly quickly.
Like the mod said, the timeouts are shared for killer/survivor, as it should be. There are far too many babies playing this game who DC because they were the first to be downed.
-
If you actually read my post then I’m afraid your comprehension skills are severely lacking.
1) I’m not complaining “about” BBQ. I’ve even said I run it as well, although not every match.
2) I know people run it for the BPs, which I’ve acknowledged numerous times.

Agree, it is unconsistent but I personally know how to stall the game well so I personally dont have problems. But well I am a old veterean so I guess thats not the point^^. I agree that many players who have problems with genspeed or game stall, should consider thinking about other perk combinations and that could help alot. I guess many players are just too greedy for the 100% bp and I can understand that.
My personal Idea was to make the bloodpoints effect baseline for every Killer. That would promote anti tunnel and more active gameplays than just camping or playing unfun and unfair.
Yes! We should get extra BPs by default without needing a perk. Having double BPs tied to a perk is unhealthy and goes against the dev’s preference of “We found <X> perk being used in 90% of matches”. Just give us extra BPs by default so we can utilize our preferred builds that actually help our killers rather than BBQ + 3 actual combo perks.

Stop telling other players what they should and shouldn't run. BBQ can help you know where you need to apply pressure which translates to slowing gen progress if you play a high mobility killer or you are skilled enough to know how to apply pressure with an M1 killer. BBQ, simply, gives you information to decide your next move. You ultimately decide how to use that information.
Oh, okay mom. I apparently posted a million threads telling people how to play so I should stop...

Previously that was true as it took time to 99 hooks but now they should be able to do it on the fly. This is how the devs described it. Also even if it took time off gens, there are points in the game where you need that hook either to put pressure or for perks like pop and BBQ. If you lose the survivors after the hook save you can lose alot of momentum.
Toolboxes have very limited charges now, and sabo has never really been that popular. Even when it’s attempted, I rarely see people being very good at it.
Doubt the new sabo perk will be meta.

I'm on Xbox so it's a bit different. I could block these people but it doesn't change the fact it's stressful to get yelled at for doing what you have to do sometimes. It's pretty much every game. I could set my messages to friends only but I don't want to do that because I do get messages from non-friends sometimes (outside of DBD that aren't toxic hatemail).
You seem very familiar, Mr. Suicide Fox. 🙂

Just don’t approach the exit gate if all hope is lost. Survivors will hate not being able to have the satisfaction of butt dancing as you helplessly watch.

Gonna start equipping meta perks like everybody else soon. My surv rate is less than %3. I am counting it and keeping track of stats in my games.
How many times i get out. How many the killer kill ect. If they tunneled. If they morid.
3% escape rate? But gens go by so fast!! Killers have nothing to stop survivors!!
But back to the topic - no, you don’t “have” to save someone (especially if NOED is in play or it’s an instadown killer) but it would be nice of you to make an attempt.

Maybe kids focusing on sabo plays instead of gens will inadvertently slow down the game just a little bit?
-
STBFL is great on most non-instadown killers. It shines on killers with secondary attack features like the aforementioned Pig, and especially Demogorgon (my favorite to run it on). That way you can still hit your obsession without losing stacks.
It’s not a great perk on killers like Billy since you should be going for chainsaw downs instead. It’s also not a great Huntress perk since you’re bread and butter combo should be Hatchet into M1/another Hatchet.
I don’t like PWYF with it because it encourages ignoring your obsession. I prefer to try eating someone’s DS to change obsessions then go after the original obsessions.
It probably combos BEST with Infectious Fright in order to build up stacks quickly.

I think more.perks. should give bp bonuses like them.
I think it would be better to scrap bonus BPs from perks and just increase max/overall BP gains per in game action. If we could get BBQ points without having to run BBQ, I’m pretty sure people would use BBQ less. Same goes for WGLF (although not as common since it’s useless in-game):
@BenZ0 said:
I get some free kills with BBQ when I see injured survivors at a dead zone. Or see how many ppl are working on the same gen, BBQ has definatly some advantages than other comparible perks like thrilling.
Can’t disagree there. Sometimes you get good value out if. But you’ll sacrifice consistency (guaranteed gen stall and/or situational awareness).
-
It’d be interesting to have a 5th perk slot, but only for an INCREDIBLY passive effect, such as Lightweight for Survivor or Predator for Killer.
-
@Endstille said:
My thoughts you seem to ignore the purpose of bbq, it is to find another chase quickly not to stall gens which would be the consequence. I don't know a single killer running bbq to slow down gens.
Thrilling tremors does not slow down gens in the slightest, it does not block any generator being worked on so the proc can be garbage as well.
Truth is gen speeds are hilarious and when you are up against a 115 killer on thompson house who has no mobility he can as well sit in the corner.
Thrilling gives you a very similar effect regardless of distance. I’m not ignoring the aura aspect of BBQ, I’m pointing out its viability compared to Thrilling. If everyone decides to let go of gens then you don’t get situational awareness but then they lose time in a game where each second matters.
And yes, Thompson’s House is a nightmare for most killers.

@Boss said:
My thoughts are that this doesn't really matter.
If Barbecue & Chili takes up a precious Perk slot, then there's still 3 other slots in which they could put that Perk.
If the Killer requires all 4 Perk slots for Perks that all only specifically target the Generator repair speed, then there's a very different issue going on.
This topic is geared towards players who can’t stop gen progression fast enough.
I can usually run a build of my liking and 3-4K every game. But I see a lot of killer players complaining here about gen speeds and yet I also see a lot of killers I face run BBQ, which rarely helps them against me and the friends I usually play with.
-
Corrupt is almost mandatory on Myers. I usually run that and Spirit Fury/Enduring and Pop.

I see your point with Franklin's and do agree with that. That was an honest oversight, but I still think BBQ would have assisted in such scenarios.
You were playing Doctor, though. His static blast is a built-in detection perk. BBQ can work on Doc, sure... but toolboxes were the issue here and I’m not sure if BBQ would have saved you.

I get the matchmaking problem, but look at all the add ons. I could have benefited from BBQ when they all use the same add ons and perks.
I see those. I’m not a fan of Franklin’s Demise but if you saw 4 toolboxes it would have been a better choice instead of Overcharge. In that scenario, I would have recommended (for you):
Franklin’s, Ruin, Surveillance, Sloppy/Thanataphobia.
The Ruin/Surv combo would eat through their toolboxes if you focus your early game on pressing gens rather than committing to full chases. Get your Sloppy or Thanataphobia to decrease action speed or delay healing (MOST survivors won’t do anything until they heal). Franklin’s would eat their toolbox charges and waste their time picking up their item.

I will just leave this here. No BBQ and 30-50 second gen completion time... COOL!
Duck, I think your issue is the matchmaking and not your build layout. You’re a green but got paired up with a couple reds and high purples.
Also, Overcharge is a weak perk and NOED does nothing before end game + is a hex.

We pretty much don't have a choice. If we use a better perk, we get half BPs. I don't think it should be that way, but that's the way it is. If there were other BP perks that could give a 100% BP bonus but didn't stack with each other, it would be a lot easier to have variety in killer builds.
I get it. I hate the grind in this game but that leads into a separate discussion entirely. I wish we didn’t have perk tiers but I run BBQ often because I’m trying to P3 every character lol.
But when I see a sweat looking SWF with keys and medkits I definitely don’t run BBQ.
-
I don’t tend to intentionally tunnel as killer so I’m fine with DS as it is.
Not that hard to go after a different survivor or just slug the recently unhooked person.
Also, I like to keep a 60-second stopwatch running each time someone gets unhooked so I know when it’s safe to pick up. 😂

According to the title, you're telling killers to stop using BBQ. But I think you're missing the point. We use it for the BP. Explaining why other perks are better for tracking isn't going to change anything.
Yung, I understand it’s used for BPs. One of my points in this thread is that the people that like to complain about gen speeds are probably running BBQ when there are superior perks that can help you apply pressure.
In an ideal world we can run BBQ for points but if you’re not a skilled killer you’re going to hurt your chances of “winning”.
-
I only (proxy) camp when:
A) Another survivor is nearby. If I’ve lost line of sight I will make an attempt to look for them and stay longer than normal. If I can’t find them, I’ll patrol my gens. If there is NO GEN PROGRESS and I can’t find ANYONE after I’ve hooked then I’ll go back to the hook.
B) All gens are popped and I don’t think I can guarantee an extra kill by leaving the hook. If I have an insta down killer like Billy and I spot other survivors I’ll usually leave the hook unless there’s still 4 total survivors alive. Need to secure a kill or hook trade.
What I never do is down my first survivor and face camp to death or wait for a hook trade. It’s such a boring play style as killer, and incredibly boring for the survivor on the hook.
Bubba should have some kind of “overheat” feature on his chainsaw so he can’t rev forever like a scumbag.

I realised this long ago. It’s not that good on most killers without mobility, especially on large maps like mother’s dwelling where the closest survivor will be about 30 seconds walk to get to. I swapped it for Discordance on a lot of killers.
Discordance is amazing. You guarantee the option to pressure two survivors at once or know that a gen won’t be completed in 40 seconds or less (if I remember the max time for 2 survivors on a gen together correctly).

Fair enough, you got me. I am tired of the nerf this and nerf that threads.
However. Take away the BP and i would stil use it. It is part of my build. I use BBQ, DL, Thana and one other that rotates.
I have my slowdown perks and i use BBQ for the aura reading ability. If people are using to it "get points" then so be it. We sweat for ours.
If they take the BP aspect away from BBQ i think you will find that surv que's will spike through the roof at that point. It is one think to get sweaty in game after game but to have surv end game BP totals will turn off a lot of killers. Myself included. If i am goign to sweat then i want the BP to boot.
I don’t want BBQ nerfed at all, I enjoy using it too (primarily for BPs, like most). Just pointing out that there are better options for certain killers/killer players who struggle with gens.
@HectorBrando said:
What he is trying to say is that BBQ is not very good in low mobility killers (the ones who suffer the most from gen rushing) and by running it you are gimping your build instead of using something who fits better for those killers.
I agree.
Thank you!!
@Yung_Slug said:
In part, yes... but I feel like it’s those ever-tasty bonus bloodpoints (BPs). I get it, the grind is ridiculous and BPs are the currency that keeps your killer/survivor economy running. We need to unlock teachables, P3 everyone (if you’re into pointless bloody versions of default cosmetics), and stock up on items/addons. BUT - if we take out the BP factor from BBQ, what are you left with?
You just summed up exactly why we use BBQ. Literally the only perk that lets us get a decent amount of BP.
Again, I’m talking about how BBQ without BP gain is a mediocre tracking perk at best. Easily countered and no gen regression/stalling benefits.

This is such a dumb post it is not even worth reading. If you are that worried about bbq there are counters for it.. Use your brain. Hide behind a gen, be within range, locker, dance in circles so you tell him that you know he has bbq - this is what i do.
I assume every killer has bbq and a lot of times i am right and the only one who even figures this out. Most dont run either bond or empathy in order to favor "meta" perks which give you ZERO information on what is happening.
Current crop of survs really stink. More so than me and i suck cos i find it hard to lose the killer, but i know mechanics, can do gens without blowing them up, can do safe saves.
Others rush in 2 seconds after the killer has gone.
