  • We'll Make It is nearly meta, it's such a good perk but it won't beat Borrowed Time.

  • I want Old Freddy back, not because I hate going against Freddy right now but I really wanna play him :(

I wish Freddy had been given a Doc-style rework instead and not just a full power change.

  • @Yatol said:

it would be too strong then.

    How so?

  • @Kind_Lemon said:

I want an on-demand Quick & Quiet. Then I could do cooler stuff with it.

    Now THAT would be cool.

  • THAT kind of Bubba. The one that always stands still.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Aslong as they bring an option to disable it, I don't know how much toxicity I could take if it was constant.

There's already an option to close the in-game chat on PC, so I don't see why they won't add that if they bring it in for consoles.

  • Most of the farm maps can go to hell. Torment Creek is huge, spawns insane setups (cowshed into shack into 2 jungle gyms like 99% of the time) and has really annoying windows. Fractured Cowshed never spawns an unsafe pallet. EVER. Playing an m1 killer on that map is next to impossible if the survivors have half a brain. Rotten Fields is just boring, nothing but corn.

Thompson House and Rancid Abattoir are alright maps though, I only have bad games on those if the RNG gods hate me.

  • One time I was unhooked in front of a Bubba's face. Without BT. I reequipped DS after that match.

Another time I was hooked in the basement, about to go to struggle phase. This Meg WALKS down the basement stairs and unhooks me just as I hit struggle.

Baby Dwights will hide in a locker all game, but Baby Megs, they'll get you killed.

  • Old Freddy, I'd buy a whole extra DLC just to play him. If the devs added an option/offering to play him again, I'd be really happy.

I rarely see Hillbilly at high ranks anymore, it's a shame because he was a really fun killer to play against.

The fact that I could actually talk to people after a match.

The look of the old Hex: Ruin skillchecks. I don't miss the perk that much, but the skilchecks looked really cool.

    image.png

Now the only perk that causes red skillchecks is Autodidact :(

  • They should have an option or offering/addon to play Old Freddy. I like New Freddy but I wanna play the old one as well :(

  • I play quite a few low-tier killers, but one of the killers I've been enjoying a lot recently is Plague. Her power is a lot more strategic than most other killer's powers, you have to plan ahead around your resources and who's infected. She's one of the slowest killers to get going, but once she does, the Plague Train has no brakes. Plus getting hits with Corrupt Purge is one of the most satisfying things in this game by a mile.

  • The Nightmare:

    Broken Alarm Clock:

    • Replaces Dream Snares with the ability to Pull Survivors in the Dream
    • [insert everything else about freddy pre-rework]

I just wanna play Old Freddy :(

  • @TeabaggingGhostface said:

Jokes on all of you, I WILL do that totem when affected by deep wound

Well just you wait until I run Frank's Mix Tape again D:<

It'll only take 90 seconds to down you, no worries.

  • I still can't see the Q&A questions, any reason why @MandyTalk?

  • I love the new Ormond, they definitely reduced the amount of safe tiles that spawn, the filler pallets are a LOT less safe now. The Snow Tractor coming back is nice. Also, one thing I've noticed is that two generators can spawn in the resort now. Hopefully this will reduce the crazy gen spread that Ormond suffered from. In terms of graphics, it's one of the best looking maps now.

  • Just run Small Game, that's 1 perk out of 16 for the survivor side to take out half the killer's perks.

  • I hope they nerf the Kerosene Can, absolutely overpowered addon, worse than the Mother-Daughter Ring. :^)

  • Certainly some interesting Ideas. I love the concept of resources being built up as the trial starts and being destroyed as it ends, it'd certainly make the EGC feel a lot more dramatic. However, I'm not sure if it'd be that great for balance.

The Skirmish idea, however, I think should be implemented with a couple of changes. Instead of the arrow system, make it so the killer and survivor can see each other's aura outside of a certain distance. Having a final chase instead of a gate patrol-fest would be a lot more fun than what we've got, and I would argue that it should replace the automatic hatch opening altogether.

  • I don't really regret buying anyone, I don't play Hag much, but her teachables are dope.

It'd be nice if they brought Old Freddy back, I never got to play him. Same with Old Legion.

  • Not a mod, but I think this would fall under Working with the Opposite team to gain an advantage, which is listed under the griefing section of the game rules:

  • The Commodious Toolbox has double the charges of most other toolboxes (32 instead of 16), and has the same speed at the brown and yellow toolbox (+50%). This is the best toolbox to take by default, as it shaves about 10 seconds from a generator repair time. In terms of addons to take, Wire Spool and Scraps are your friend, as extra charges are always a good thing. If you have them, take a Brand New Part as it repairs 25% of a gen over 5 seconds (provided you hit the skillchecks).

The Engineer's Toolbox is the best toolbox in terms of speed (+100%), but will save you a couple less seconds overall, due to it's low charges. If you want the fastest toolbox you can get, take this with the Socket Swivels and the Clean Rag.

    tl;dr:

Best toolbox: Commodious + Wire Spool and Scraps

Fastest toolbox: Engineer's + Socket Swivels and Clean Rag

This is excluding BNP, but I'd use one if you can.

Here's a repair speed table I got from the wiki:

    Freddy was ruined.

    Old Freddy appreciation squad.

  • No official word yet on the date, but I'd imagine it's coming in the next midchapter update. He has been confirmed to be the next killer recieving a rework.

  • Yeah, I don't see an issue with any of these. It'd make them actually worth running.

A full Breakdown squad would be kinda nasty, but it would be refreshing to have some new effective perks that you have to adapt around.

Although, I think it would be cool if Babysitter delayed the unhook notification by a couple of seconds.

Camaraderie would still kinda suck, it really needs to be based on the killer's distance from the hook as well to make it an anti-camping perk.

I think Off the Record should have a Deathbound-like effect, with anyone within a short range of a survivor under the effects of the perk will also recieve them. That'd fulfil the requirements of the "blocks auras when healing" perk you wanted. Although if the perk was going to get the kindred treatment on top of this, then I think the duration might need to be reduced by quite a bit. But hey, I'd run it if all of those changes were implemented.

That's not very far into the woods. It's like one of those patches of trees between property boundaries. It is right next to peepee creek though.

I was hoping someone would notice eventually :D

  • @Toybasher said:

Old Freddy. He had best in class stall, tracking, and stealth. He was a crappy M1 killer in a chase but with his tiny terror radius you could easily ambush survivors.

I used to play him a lot, even in red ranks and I did very well with him.

I'm still hoping that one day they'll unrework Freddy.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

Legion, they could even make different chase music based on what member of the group you play, playing based on their Mix Tapes!

    I love this idea!

  • All of them.

The unique chase music really adds to the feeling of the killer. I noticed it the most when they accidentally removed Doc's unique chase music, and being chased by him felt a lot less intense than it used to. Deathslinger's chase music is probably one of the reasons why I actually like going against him.

If there's one killer I'd choose specifically, it'd probably be Wraith, with Legion as a close second.

  • @Mooks said:

You have to read it with a longer pause at that part. The one who wrote it obviously intended it that way because they had to stop there as well. Couldn’t believe that it would deplete the gauge.

I think it was the person who wrote it momentarily passing out from how shocking the Legion rework was.

  • Being able to go from a 4-man Rank 1 squad who are relentless on gens and loops to not having a single red rank in my game in the space of 1 match is crazy. Even if the ranks were a good metric to match on, the current system doesn't do that right half the time.

  • @Gcarrara said:

    Aftercare for me. 🙂

I love to keep track of all my teammates. Just need to be extra careful not to lose it.

Ah yeah, Aftercare doesn't get enough love. Being able to see your entire team is pretty neat.

  • Spies from the Shadows is a lot more situational than Whispers, but a bit more precise. That said, I haven't ran Spies on any of my killers for a while, I might just give it a go again.

Whispers is probably one of the best tracking perks in the game, if you stick it on, you'll never be far from the survivors and you won't waste time checking spots you don't need to. I doubt Spies will be able to surpass Whispers in terms of tracking potential, but it's a fun perk that nobody will expect. If you really hate Blendettes sneaking around in a bush somewhere, I'd say Spies is your friend. Otherwise, I'd run Whispers. That said, it won't hurt to try it out for yourself!

EDIT: I tried Spies for a couple of games, it kinda sucks.

  • @GingerBeard said:

I was disappointed with the add ons too.

Its also a shame that anytime a new killer is released, I expect the iridescent add ons to be mediocre and/or uninspired.

At least we didn't get an add on that is just one of her perks but downgraded.

We're gonna see one of the iri addons be changed to "every time a generator is completed, you can lunge 10% further once"

  • You've got to keep levelling Doctor up until the perk appears on your bloodweb. There's no certain level as the perks that spawn on the bloodweb are picked randomly.

  • Victor changes look dope, it's a shame the locker interaction won't be a thing on release, but I understand that animation takes a lot of work.

45 seconds for a recall is a bit too long IMO, it should down the survivor after 45 seconds and let Charlotte recall Victor after maybe 10-20 seconds.

The perk changes to Appraisal kinda suck, but they're not too bad. The Coup de Grace nerf will just mean that nobody is going to run the perk outside of meme builds.

Overall, Victor changes good, perk changes trash.

  • I don't get why they're nerfing Coup de Grace, it was already quite limited in terms of what you could do with it.

  • If you're having trouble with looping, I'd really recommend looking up some guides on how to run common tiles, as that's what you'll be dealing with on most of the maps.

Dead Hard is a really good perk when used well, but really unreliable for dodging hits (dedicated servers and all that). The best time to use it is if you're in a position where you're close to a pallet or a window, but not close enough to make it just by running. If you Dead Hard at the right time, you can use the distance you gain to get to and drop a pallet or vault a window. Do keep in mind that this requires good timing, as a badly timed Dead Hard can put you too far from the pallet and get you hit anyway.

Sprint Burst and Lithe are also good picks. Sprint Burst means you can never be in a bad position when working on a generator. If you're working on a generator in the middle of nowhere, you can use Sprint Burst to get to a safer tile. Lithe is the same concept, except it only works with window vaults and you don't have to manage your exhaustion meter as much.

Another good combination for looping is Resilience and Spine Chill. These perks both affect vault speed, totalling to a 15% bonus when injured (assuming both perks are Tier 3). This will let you get away with vaults that would usually leave you hit.

However, no matter how many perks you have, the thing that will save you the most in this game is knowledge. If you know the best way to run certain tiles, you will extend your chases on average for quite a while. It's also good to keep in mind what tricks the Killer will try and pull to mindgame you.

OhTofu uploaded a helpful tutorial a couple of years ago, but most (if not all) of the information should still be accurate:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM

  • Otzdarva uploaded a really good Quick Killer guide on The Plague a week or two ago, I'd recommend giving that a watch:

  • I'm gonna run Coup de Grace just to make all of the Freddy lunge memes a reality.

How exactly are you going to loop a 130% move speed killer?

Also I'd like to point out that getting a 4 man Frenzy with this change would be beyond broken. I've had things play out kind of like you are suggesting, 3 man Frenzy into pulling the last one out of a locker... and... having that happen is nearly game ending. On the very few occasions that's happened, the Survivors literally never manage to recover. Also... I'd like to point out that this change in theory would allow Legion to slug all 4 Survivors with their first Frenzy. It would require the Survivors to mend, but nothing about Frenzy prevents them from restabbing people who have mended. Actually they can restab anyone... they just currently don't get anything for stabbing someone with DW and stun themselves. If the 4th+ hit down goes through anyway, you can just double stab Survivor #3 and get a down anyway. Yeah you stunned yourself, but the Survivor is on the floor so it doesn't matter.

If I'm being honest, this change would make Legion even better than they already are at stomping newbies who don't know how to counter them and does nothing for their matchup vs red ranks... so you are getting a very hard no from me on this change.

Downing a survivor in Frenzy would immediately end your power, so you can't 4 man slug with your first Frenzy.

  • This is a good suggestion, but how about we add something for the killers who are having a good game? If the hatch opens, the killer can jump through it and get to the campfire. Someone brought a key? Just chase after them!

his basekit is nice but his addons are all boring and meaningless most of the time

Oh yeah, an addon pass would be nice, I'd just rather have downing potential tied to his basekit and not an Ultra Rare addon.

I always saw a good amount of Pop at higher ranks so that doesn't seem any different to me. Ruin also seems normal but not a lot of Undying. Are you on PC? I'm on console so I wonder if it's different.

    Yeah, I'm a PC player.

  • I only usually run two slowdown perks on most of my killers, but that's mainly because I like Utility and Info perks a lot. Gen defence is really important as a killer though, as it directly impedes the survivor's main objective and gives you more time to, well, kill them. The meta combo right now is Ruin + Undying + Pop (in case all the totems go).

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/206828/make-legions-frenzy-lethal-again

I already suggested something similar to this but my thoughts were this is too strong to be basekit so instead I had it as an idea for a fuming mix take rework (old fuming mix tape effect replaces franks mix tapes current effect)

I don't know, I'd rather have some form of lethality reintroduced into the base kit.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

w-wait... how far back did you go? That's some dedication.

Personally, I disagree with my own idea, because of how inconsistent it is. I would also HATE to be insta downed by Legion (considering he can just vault everything).

I rather they reduce the penalties attributed to Feral Frenzy (power gauge penalty, fatigue duration, lack of blood pools, etc...) rather than make it lethal. I don't think there's a good way of making the power lethal without it being either inconsistent, or un-counterable.

With that all being said, why not try it on a PTB and see how things go? You never know!

Hey, if there's a way to make Feral Frenzy lethal again while still being balanced, I'd love it. I want the Old Stabby Gang back, but maybe without annoying the hell out of half the playerbase this time around.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

Not a terrible idea but this wouldn't help them against decent players at all. The number one rule vs Legion is split up and run if you hear the TR after a deep wound. It's extroardinarily rare for a Legion to get more than 2 linked attacks against anyone that won't go down 10 seconds into a chase anyway.

I guess you have a point, all everyone does is split up, and unless the duration was heavily extended it'd be kinda hard. What'd be your idea for giving Frenzy it's lethality back?

  • I wanna look cool while stabbing people, quite simple really.

    • Freddy should never have been reworked, his power was fun and interesting even if it was weak. The new Freddy is strong, but boring.
    • Insidious Bubba is fun, but not for facecamping. Being able to hide around a corner with an instadown and scare survivors to death is one of the funniest things you can do.
    • Autodidact is a good perk.
    • Old Legion was alright, and they didn't need a full rework. Yes, proxychasing and Frank's Mixtape was absolute BS and you were the worst kind of Legion main if you did this, but those could be fixed instead of throwing the entire killer out of the window. Turning another interesting killer into an M1 killer with extra steps was an absolute shame.
